The Bureau Lichfield in Lichfield

This was the best place to come to in our opinion for breakfast/brunch, we have been here quite a few times always welcoming, staff were soo nice, food came out quick and was beautiful and got a great size portion, for the money was absolutely spot on would highly recommend this place 👌

Second visit but this time with 4 adults & 3 children (2 under the age of 3). From the minute we walked in the staff were great & accommodated us superbly. Considering the occasion, we were able to be moved to a table which enabled us to enjoy lunch whilst ensuring our baby & toddler were comfortable. Service was impeccable & appreciated given how busy the staff were. Thank you all at The Bureau - we’ll be back!

Very nice welcome, but very disappointed to get a £7 bill for breakfast and coffee when the first waitress reassured me that breakfast was £5.00 which included Americano coffee. I was charged £5 breakfast and £2 coffee. When I queried this with second waitress she just said sorry but did not refund for the first waitresses mistake! Also the breakfast was just warm, not at all hot.

My husband and I visited Lichfield as a treat after a pretty tough year. We caught the train so we could have a few drinks with a nice meal. The Bureau was recommended to us so we arrived and liked the place - the waiter, once we’d managed to get his attention, was very friendly. Unfortunately we waited an hour and a half and when questioned where our food was they didn’t seem to know. We left too late to eat anywhere else as everywhere was closing. It really spoilt what was supposed to be a nice day. To be honest if you’re visiting Lichfield I’d take a packed lunch because the food options are terrible.

I arrived with a group for the 3 for £10 meal. Service was terribly slow 2.5 hours in total. Chips and fish were very over cooked. Chocolate pudding was cold at the base, cheesecake was virtually tasteless. Waitress was very loud and very rude. Chefs were walking through the restaurant carrying bags of cheap food and looked very dirty and unkempt . What on Earth has happened to this once lovely place to eat.

On Saturday we watched an almost deserted restaurant/ bar we saw a group of 5 get turned away because the food had stopped although there was a staff member eating a meal at the bar. Two other couples come in sat down then left as they didn’t get served. The staff just seemed a little demotivated, our drinks took ages and weren’t very nice, it was cold and just as we were leaving they decided to turn some music on!! Such a shame as it could early be a great venue but just seems to have lost its heart beat.

The decor looks fantastic but that’s it. We had to ask on two occasions to be served as we watched others who’d come in after us had already been approached. They were nice enough to modify our breakfast but is came to £31.30 - bacon x1, sausage x1, ‘scrambled’ egg and x2 toast with two coffees. The bacon was chewy and over cooked, the egg was more of an omelette due to being overdone. The best part of the meal was the toast and that it lets dogs in. After our meal we complained about the quality of the food but no refund was offered. Bare in mind, the waitress muttered £13 rather than £31, more fool me for not looking before paying! Shan’t be going again. Food and service, poor with no effort to rectify post meal.

We ordered the pre fixed Menu. The halloumi bites were disgusting to say the least. They were in a fried batter that wasn’t fully cooked, tasted bland and came with what was literally maple syrup. They did change it for me to pate which was ok. They took ages to serve us and we had to ask numerous times to take plates away and for our desserts They then over changed us but £30. For another 2 pre fixed menus at £10 each. A chai latte ( which no one had) an extra latte and an extra half Peroni Honestly the worst Meal I’ve ever had out. The staff were polite but just very slow.

We came here with friends who are regulars at The Bureau and highly recommended it. Since it was Christmas Eve, the place was crowded, but this did not prevent excellent service from extremely pleasant and friendly staff. The decor is distinctive, and creates an excellent atmosphere. The Christmas menu was great value at £12 for two courses (£15 for three), and there was good vegetarian choice. We’ll return when the Christmas rush has died down.

Popped in here while visiting Lichfield. Having already done a full English this week, didn’t fancy another although their weekday £5 special looked to be excellent value and very popular. I went for the slightly different croque monsieur and it was very good. Nice thick bread with melted cheese and nicely carved ham toasted and topped with a little béchamel sauce. The crispy cheese bits were lovely !. The Wife declared her French pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup equally as good. Prices were maybe a little high when compared with the breakfast special deal. As we ate the place became very busy so obviously popular as a morning venue. Staff were attentive and friendly. Toilets OK, but - too much info - the urinal right next to the washbasin was a little odd !.

The Bureau, is family and dog friendly great value breakfast, fast friendly service. Staff are attentive very polite and service is very quick. Been here many times and service is alway good both busy and at quiet times. Highly recommended for good value meals.

My partner and his family booked a table for drinks as it was for a 60th birthday! They were greeted by lovely friendly staff and were very attentive and accommodating. Whilst they were enjoying there drinks they were presented with a slice of cake on a board with happy birthday whilst the staff were singing happy birthday! What an amazing gesture. Amazing experience and customer service! 5* all round. Will be coming back to try the food next time!! Thankyou for a lovely evening!

So glad I was told about this place! We popped in for Sunday brunch and what I love about this place is that every member of staff I meet is friendly, helpful and will go the extra mile to please. Lots of veggie options and can do a lot gluten free if you ask. Customer service is top of their priorities which is refreshing 🙂. Beautiful modern decor, great food and coffee, a warm welcome, dog friendly ... What's not to like!

Lunchtime visit during the food festival ,pleased to find a seat outside for a drink then decided to have some food. Ordered the French Onion soup and the mussels . Both were absolutely delicious. We will be back to try some others dishes .Thanks.
