It was a good venue for little kids - but customer service is poor. They charged another tables bill to my card and have ignored all my emails for a refund. Wouldn’t recommend this place for this reason

Great place. Wish there was something similar nearer to where I live as there’s no soft play areas that are focused on under 4’s, easily accessed by public transport and accessible for parents with mobility issues. The food was very good, fresh and not your typical pub kids menu food! The staff are very friendly and supportive. Parents can go in with the little ones and see them wherever they go in the play area. It’s also got a great community feel with all sorts of classes available. It’s an asset to the town centre where there isn’t a lot else to do for little children. More than a cafe and more than a soft play.

Visited yesterday - first time in about a year and I was disappointed with how it had gone down hill. It used to be busy and buzzing but it was very quiet which surprised me. When we went into the soft play I noticed how much dirtier everything looked and a bit tired. The cleaning needs looking at - it used to be spotless! Also the toilets stank! I know it’s hard with nappy bins but gosh it was smelly - even my toddler was holding her nose in there! The food was good still. The music choices in there were also a bit strange - it’s a kids place but some of the music playing was really dreary. Hope they clean it up a bit in there as it used to be such a lovely place.

We held our daughters 2nd birthday party here and we cannot fault it. The staff could not do enough for us, and left us to enjoy the party. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and they went above and beyond to ensure that we all had a good time. We felt that the party was also excellent value for money, given that we had exclusive use of the venue. Parents all enjoyed it as they could relax with their children in eye sight. The food options were also good. I forgot to mention that we had two people with dietary requirements until the morning of the party, and this was dealt with seamlessly, even with a separate party favour for those children. Highly recommend - thank you again! The aircon was also a welcome relief on a very hot day!

We had an alright visit but no where near as good as 1 year ago. My children are 3 and 1 now and this play space should be perfect. But it is showing significant wear and doesn't feel the cleanest either. It's all too easy for toddlers to walk in with food (although what are the parents doing to prevent this?) The staff do work hard each session. Molly in particular was very friendly and welcoming. Food was also tasty. The kids enjoyed it. Hopefully the team can turn this around quickly.

I am not one to write reviews but I really hope the management have a look at this as this used to be such a great place we loved coming to but it’s like the life and soul has been sucked out of it. The place looks worn now and unclean - using tape to cover up holes in the soft play isn’t very good. You would expect this from a wacky warehouse that isn’t well looked after but not here. You can see the amount of dust as well and dirt collecting around the equipment for the older kids - when I put my little one on the slide I was shocked to see how dirty it was underneath. The staff seem unfriendly, very quick to take your order and then rush you out the door at the end again. For what was once a family run friendly business it just seems to have lost its charm. What a shame.

Found this place online when looking for somewhere little to eat after visiting the Lichfield Garrick, found that you could book online which I thought was great as it meant we knew we had somewhere booked after the panto. The best thing though was the menu, I LOVED that there were some different things on the menu, Had the Arabian wrap which had falafel, tabbouleh and sweet chilli sauce, it was delicious!!

The cafe has been highly recommended to me by a number of people and we weren’t disappointed. The weaning platter was brilliant (the avocado slices were perfect for mashing up) the food was fresh, tasty perfect for my little boy. My food was delicious too, easy to eat with one hand while feeding baby too. As grandparents this was a great place to take a 2 year old n a rainy day. Very busy and lively with lots of mums with babies and pushchairs but this you expect as the cafe is for families . Great play areas with books, toys and dressing up along with soft play. This was our first visit and the staff were lovely and made us feel welcome, we were walkin and not booked a table. Food was really good and well presented. There is a small charge for the children playing.Yes there was a lot of food mess on the floor at some tables which was cleared up immediately once the table was vacated. Can I just say that is not down to the staff but mothers who should take reponsibility and make an attempt to clear up their toddlers mess before leaving. I myself would never leave a plateful of food strewn on the floor.Great concept just wish we had one in Solihull. We will definitely be visiting again

Met a friend for lunch with our babies, had never been before so was unsure what to expect First off I couldn’t find the place, the website details no postal address so I wandered around the shopping area for a bit then looked on the website and found it says on the website they are opposite a theatre so used google maps to find the theatre- then I nearly walked right by as it’s NOT green! Initial impression was good, lots of space, lots of high chairs, 2 play areas plus dress up for the kids, great toilet facilities for families, even a play pen in the loo to put your baby in while you use the facilities (but only one adult loo which included disabled)Menu was not very extensive but I easily found something for me, I didn’t know they did kids food (I had brought my own) but felt obligated to buy something so I ordered my little boy a baby weaning platter at £3.25 it said 6 months plus and you can choose 4 items from a list, we had cheese, savoury muffin, pear & banana The bits that could be improved:The plates aren’t suction so the first thing my little boy did was tip it over himself (thankfully not the floor) and I was not keen on him eating off the table not knowing how clean it wasThe size of the food chunks are not suitable for 6month+ babies - I had to cut up the large chunks of cheese into much smaller portions, break the muffin up, mush the pear etcThe cutlery I was given was too big for my sons mouth! I had however brought my ownCake selection was very limited Table service until you want to pay then have to go to the counter whilst balancing a baby on one hip, trying to get into your purse... surely the service should carry on through? At the end of the meal when paying I was asked if my little boy had used the play area, as there is a £2 charge for over 12 months - this is not mentioned ANYWHERE and being a child friendly cafe I had assumed it was all in, especially considering the price of the child’s plate, thankfully my son is under 12 months so I didn’t have to pay

My family took my 9 month old for lunch recently, they booked in advance and were quite excited. It’s a really great concept to have the soft play with the cafe but they found both the eating area and play area quite dirty. The air conditioning unit was thick with dust above their heads and even the teapot came with stains. More worrying was that the soft play was really unclean. It wouldn’t take much effort to have someone wipe clean the area/toys at least once a day, particularly with children and babies playing in there. I won’t be in a hurry to take my baby there sadly.

Today's visit with my 18 month old Granddaughter was very concerning as we witnessed a number of incidents where children were hurt whilst playing in the soft play area. The cause of the injuries were due to the number of children aged approximately 6/7 years old, being allowed to run freely in the soft play area. We saw one little girl kicked in the head in the small ball pit and another pushed down a large step as she tried to exit a section higher up. One of the older children was attempting to stop little ones coming down the slide and at one point pushed me out of the way where I narrowly missed catching my little one at the bottom of the slide. I understand that a party was taking place and the sign says `all are welcome` however, this cafe is targeted towards young children/toddlers and families seeking a soft play cafe experience. The older children that were allowed to play today were completely unsupervised and this created an incredibly stressful and potentially harmful environment for my granddaughter to be in. The staff appear to be pushed to the limit, it took 30 minutes for our simple lunch order to be fulfilled, this was surprising and frustrating especially as no other tables were waiting for food at this point. On arrival we waited 15 minutes for our table to be ready and then felt pressurised to leave after 70 minutes as the waiter began sweeping the floor around us and could be clearly heard telling the next customer he was waiting for us to leave. I spent £37.00 here today. Not a cheap sandwich option for 3! I understand that parents are responsible for the behaviour of their own children however, I do feel the cafe has a responsibility to its customers to provide the service it is selling which is for young children to enjoy soft play. Perhaps a segregated area for older children would be the safest answer. I didn't feel comfortable approaching the staff today to voice these concerns and had heard the way many passing customers had been turned away as we were seated by the door! Today there could have been a serious accident at the cafe. I would also suggest some sort of walkway system as I saw many hot drinks being carried by staff to tables as little ones were running around the same area.

It was 10 minutes past midday, half cafe empty , around 8 tables and empty. One of the staff came over and asked, “ Have you booked” no hello, how are you, nothing. We said No then she checked over a piece of paper and said -Sorry we are fully booked....

Tried visiting earlier today for the first time with my family to be told “have you booked?” No “hello”, “good afternoon”, “ how may I help”. Simply wanted a coffee for half an hour during the middle of the day as it was a cold day and thought it would be somewhere to entertain my 2 children for a while. Staff extremely unhelpful and unaccommodating.... forget the TINY soft play which you have to pay extra for. We will be returning to our usual garden centre or costa for our hot drinks and cakes!!! This establishment needs to invest in extra customer service training for its employees.

I’d heard about this cafe from Facebook posts that popped up on my phone and was passing one day with my mom and 1 year old so thought we would give it a try. It was quite busy and I didn’t realise we had to book. The girl took a while before deciding it was ok for us to come in and showed us to a table. Weren’t sure if it was table service or not as she didn’t say so went straight in the soft play with my little one. Soft play was ok, not very big but enough for half an hour or so in there. When the food arrived it was lovely but I thought it was a bit pricey to be honest. Couldn’t believe it then when I saw in tiny writing on the menu that you had to pay for the soft play bit if your child was over 1! I thought the cost of the food (being so expensive) would of covered this? There was also a very smoky greasy smell in there , which when we left we could still smell on our clothes.

This cafe is perfect for families and little ones. There’s a small play area with climbing, ball pit and slide, there’s also scheduled activities throughout the day. It’s not a huge place but that actually makes it feel safer as you know your children can’t get far. The food was also lovely, not a huge range but the Vespa wrap I had was delicious. The weaning platter is also a great idea, choose four items from a list including hummus, breadsticks, yoghurt, banana etc. Definitely book ahead as it was fully booked at lunchtime, also not the cheapest to eat but worth for the environment.

I booked three days before going. Everything went smoothly. I wasn't aware there was a charge for soft play but didn't mind the £2.00. What I did mind is being charged £1.75 for a small rainbow cake, size of a cup cake. Come on guys you know the kids will want these, but £1.75 ???? I make cakes regularly and this is just a little OTT with pricing. Dressing up clothes are ok but you could do with more, plus the temperature on Saturday wasn't great, in fact chilly at times. Yes the kids are running around, but the adults are not.

Delightful play area for the under 5's and an excellent venue for a small person's party. The coffee for parents grandparents etc was lovely with a varied choice, however I felt it needed just a bit of fine tuning. Although they offered a selection of cakes the adults could buy it would have been nice if you could have bought a sandwich some relations travel quite a way and with a party starting at 2pm I am sure were quite peckish and with M &S; next door if staff were unable to facilitate this I am sure they could have bought some of these in and served them. Just an idea as several of us asked if we could buy a sandwich or roll etc.

The other parents are all lovely too! The only criticism I have is that the toilets aren't well maintained throughout the day, the nappy bins are extremely smelly and the toilets and baby changing area have been dirty every time I've visited. It's a real shame and definitely off putting unfortunately. I took some friends yesterday who experienced the same issue, unfortunately they have decided they won't return because of this. This is the perfect place to visit with little ones. It has just enough soft play for children under 6 and because of this there are no big children pushing the littles over. It has a lovely atmosphere and it's very easy to watch the children wherever they are. Nice food and drink and the staff are always very helpful. The additional activities are good but I sometimes think they're a bit overpriced for a bit of paper and paint at the end of the day. However, for the chance to relax whilst having lunch and not have to frantically search where my toddler has disappeared to, it's definitely worth the money!

When we went there was a disco and party games, which my three-year-old really enjoyed. It sounds like service is a problem - the only thing we found to be a problem was paying the bill. No one seemed available, and then they didn't have a clue what we had ordered - we could have said anything. The kids were hungry & thirsty & I was losing my patience & about to walk out before eventually being asked what we'd like. There was almost zero apology & a bit of attitude too. This poor service will be the death of this business as like many reviews I've read it's a constant theme, such a shame as this has potential to be so good... just sort the service out!

It is the ideal place to feel comfortable taking young children out to, entertaining them and feeding them something other than chicken nuggets. When I visited, they weren't particularly busy (there were plenty of empty tables) and seemingly lots of staff, at times who had time to stand around chatting. I waited 45 minutes for my order of 3 sandwiches, one of which was incorrect. The staff gave us 10% off the bill, but I was really disappointed with the excessive wait. I visited here for the second time after reading on Facebook that the extraction has been improved... however that does not seem to be the case and it still isn't very pleasant to sit in a cafe that is so smoky. My daughter is 3 and it's great for her, the activities with the staff are a great idea and the soft play is just about big enough (but I think she will out grow it quite soon) the food is ok but the menu is very limited.. for a cafe I think the menu should offer more.. but maybe not until the extraction is improved some more! Overall I would visit again but would hope that it is less smoky!

This place is truly a godsend! I visited again with my son who is three and my two month old. I was able to sit and watch my son enjoy playing in the soft play, whilst I fed my baby and drink a much needed cup of coffee!! Table service which is fantastic and room to manoeuvre the buggy!

I recently visited the LGF with my 4 year old and almost 2 year old. It was mid afternoon, so we opted for cake, hot chocolate and smoothies for the little folk. All went down a treat! (The hot chocolate was top notch!!) the play area as perfect for my two, who also then did a craft activity and read books in the book corner. A livery experience, and my little boy declared it was "the best day ever" (though he does say this most days!)

I have been here with my 4 year old and 2 year old boys many times and we have never been disappointed. The food and drinks are always lovely, the boys love the soft play, craft activities and free play area, and this means I get to relax and enjoy a hot drink. The place is even better now there is a gate on the front door, so I know the boys can't escape.

My first time at the cafe today, lots of space, nice and bright and open! Good atmosphere and service. Children's soft play area was lovely, nice and clean. Drinks and food came quickly. Well worth the extra couple of pounds to use soft play area, so us mommies can have a little break! Overall really impressed and will definitely be back.

This was our second visit- and we will not be returning. The service was terrible- pretty much non existent! That food was poor quality and the room was one again filled with smoke! I understand that there are lots of small children eating and throwing food everywhere but the place felt grubby- with food everywhere- this could have easily been rectified if the staff had been cleaning instead of talking! Brilliant idea but clearly not working- the staff gave the impression that the boss was out!

When we arrived cafe full of smoke something burnt in the kitchen in need of good extractor fans when kitchen is open plan .Food nice but disappointed with play area the sensory wall for babies needs a repair as the tube for the balls to roll down is broken Not worth the extra £2 you pay for use of play area for a baby .

Great team who went out of their way to help my daughter raise money for ShelterBox (crisis support for families on distaste areas), whilst also doing a great coffee and top notch French Toast. Lovely space for families to relax with lots of things for the children to do, including activities such as pairing and crafts. Can not recommend them enough!

service extremely poor on the day we visited. No one to show us to our seats.. no one came to take our orders even after 10 mins and when i questioned at the kitchen how to order no apologies were offered, nor by the staff that eventually came to take our orders... lovely atmosphere with fab families .. alas no child friendly staff :-(

Staff don't seem to want clean off tables (and flooring) when people leave. Limited menu. Confusing pricing policy until after you have sat down and children are playing. I think the owners would like this place to be an indoor play centre but the play frame is soo small in comparison to other facilities. Is it a café with a play centre attached, or a play centre with a café attached? Since opening I have noticed that atleast they have fitted a gate on the entrance so children cant just slip out unnoticed. Overall expensive for what it is.

I like the idea of this cafe; the soft play area was loved by the younger members of the group. However the tables were poorly arranged so it was difficult to push a buggy around the tables to the buggy park. There was also a constant que for the toilet as the cafe only has two loos including baby changing facilities. The food menu was limited but food tasty, although there was a long wait. The main reason we visited the cafe was due to its gluten free menu and therefore were very disappointed that there were no gluten free cakes available.

I love the idea of this baby/child friendly cafe!!! It such a nice place for moms/parents to go and not worry about noise, mess etc. I've been twice and both times the service has let them down- slow and inattentive. The staff are very polite and friendly but not quick on seeing to needs.

I visited this lovely, child friendly cafe yesterday and thought it was fantastic. I am quite happy to pay £3.50 for the pleasure of visiting a cafe that caters for children. This is not a soft play centre, it is a lovely cafe that offers you a soft play area facility should you wish to have lunch somewhere without worrying about how to entertain your toddler. I just wish there were more cafes like this in the Streetly/Sutton Coldfield area. The service is great and orders are taken at the table, I don't know anywhere local that offers this kind of service, with a lovely Adult and Child food menu. I will definitely be visiting again soon!

Although we are of the older generation we didn't feel at all uncomfortable in this setting and we were very impressed with the range of facilities for the little ones. We found the staff to be very genial and efficient and we will certainly recommend this to others of our generation as a suitable place to take the grand-children.

I would usually book just to make sure of a table at lunch time, but my family including two grandchildren had a really nice time. The little ones at 11 and 15 months enjoyed the soft play area and they shared a tasty ham and cheese toastie which the adults had salad. Will definitely go again and again.

My friend and I plus 6 children ranging in age from 6 months to 8 years visited for breakfast during the school holidays. From the moment we walked in the staff were attentive and very helpful sorting out high chairs and getting the 8 year old involved in the art activity and when that was over she was in the book corner. The soft play area is small but there is enough to entertain little ones, the food is the best food I have ever had at a soft play. No chicken nuggets and chips in sight thank god! The breakfast menu is amazing and I highly recommend the fruit smoothies and French toast. Yes the food is a little pricier than other soft play places but you get what you pay for.

Having a 22 month old son we found this concept interesting so thought we'd give it a go. My wife booked via email as the website recommends. She actually tried to amend it afterwards to coincide with one of the "planned activities" but had no response, so we stuck with the original booking.

Visited here today with friends, from the outside it looked lovely and the girl at the desk was helpful in finding us a table as we hadn't booked. It is very clean, bright and obviously new. I think they have some really good ideas and have obviously thought about things, like the buggy park and handy travel cot in the toilets. However there were also a lot of things which weren't great and I don't think we will be returning. The whole place stunk, with a smoke screen in the air. We have left smelling of burnt smoke. Lots of people's eyes were watering. Also no mention of the £3.50 chafe anywhere so can agree with others comments. My food was nice, my daughters Jam sandwich was awful and she never touched it. The menu was limited, expensive and they had no diet drinks. The area was small and ideal for our 17 month olds but no older really. The door was being left open which meant the children could run out. A member of the kitchen staff commented on my daughter being by the kitchen, I saw her mouth where is her mother? Which I thought was rude as I was right behind her... The area is so small and the open plan kitchen just has two small low swinging doors which is obviously very appealing. She was simply standing and looking. In my opinion there are much better and bigger places to go to.

This is such a good idea! We visited this new coffee house/ cafe/ crèche, right in the centre of Lichfield, for the first time today and loved it! Great soft play areas and activities for the kids while we enjoyed some good food and drink and a stress-free catch-up in the knowledge that our kids were being looked after by friendly and genuinely interested staff. We didn't even have to go through the usual juggling act with toddlers- buggy-tray-while-trying-to-find-a-table-routine that's so common in other coffee/ cafe places. It's table service! This is such a great idea ... we will be back! Thank you Little Green Frog x

I felt like I needed to pop on here and leave a review for this place as its been getting a bit of stick, first off I'd like to say well done to the team at the little green frog cafe as I think what you have brought to the city is a great idea! I visited Tuesday with my sister, her 2 children and my mom, and we had a great time, it was lovely thst we could sit and chat with a coffee and cake (which was huge and well worth the money) while the little one played instead of worrying we were disturbing half of Lichfield with a bored toddler in another coffee shop getting stared at. My nephew had a great time and to be honest I don't know why people are moaning it costs £3.50 the play area is current and clean and it's not to big to keep an eye on them whilst not having to follow them round all the time and they can explore and play and make friends themselves, my sister was able to feed her baby comfortably too and the toilets are so well thought out especially the play pen so you can use the toilet too without trying to hold your child on a changing table, it's all so very well thought out. The only negative is the door being so accessible to the kids but it's a New place and I'm sure the owners will have identified this as an issue themselves everything else has been thought through every new place has teething problems but you can always make changes!! I know my sister was happy and had a relax and as a mom of a 12 year old I only wish this had been here when my son was little! Keep up the good work guys!!!

We loved it! We had a great afternoon... the children (two 3 year olds, one nearly 2 years and a 5 month old) were continuously entertained in either the soft play or the play area (there was a teepee, fancy dress and puzzles out with staff to help them).

I walked past this cafe with my boy, my 2 nephews and niece as well as my wife and in-laws, we walked in to be turned away as we hadn't booked. This is despite the cafe being less than 1/4 full. Its a bit arrogant to turn away good custom when normal play areas don't ask for bookings, let alone a cafe. There's no excuse. Obviously the kids were disappointed and there's no way I'd be going back

Had a lovely first visit here today, with a group including 5 2 yr olds who had a brilliant time in the play area and doing a painting activity. Food was tasty and fresh, and certainly a step up from the usual soft play chips and squash! We liked the smoothies and froggy fingers!

Stopped here for a Latte during our walk. Unfortunately it was made with instant coffee. We had a small size which was tiny. Two mouthfuls and it was gone and at £2.50 expensive. For that money you can get a decent size cup and a real latte. It is a shame because this is a nice place, but would go to the other cafe next time.
