My partner and I decided to try The Packhorse for a meal, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the start. First, the disability parking situation was terrible. The spaces were tiny and practically unusable — especially when non-disabled guests were parked there in massive vehicles without any visible disability badges. It’s not only disrespectful, it’s completely inconsiderate. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone with serious mobility issues. When it came to ordering food, we tried to use the table service system, but it didn’t work. So my partner had to go to the bar to order instead. He got a Peroni and a Madri — the Peroni was flat and had a bad taste, though the Madri was just about okay. We waited around 20 to 25 minutes for our food, which isn’t too bad, but the portions were shockingly small. I had three small sausages, a spoonful of mash, and another spoonful of peas. The “gravy” didn’t even resemble gravy. My partner had the gammon, chips, egg, and peas — it looked slightly more filling than mine, but still more like a kid’s portion. He said it was “alright.” I couldn’t even finish the flat beer — it was just not enjoyable. Overall, nothing about the experience was memorable in a good way. We won’t be returning, and I honestly can’t recommend this place to others. I’d say it’s best to avoid it. Photos are included to show where I, as a Blue Badge holder, was forced to park because two arrogant drivers in red and white cars took up the designated disabled parking bays — without displaying any Blue Badges. This is completely unacceptable. The fact that staff allowed this to happen, or failed to enforce the use of those spaces for actual disabled guests, is a joke. The disabled parking bays are already far too small, and when they’re taken up by people who clearly don’t need them, it becomes even harder — and unsafe — for those of us who do. This kind of disregard shows a complete lack of respect and accessibility awareness. It’s not just frustrating — it’s discriminatory.

Celebrated a Birthday 🎉 with a family Sunday lunch. Asked before hand for a quiet area. Upon arrival we were seated in a lovely quiet separate room divided from the main area by curtains. The staff were friendly whilst professional and were on hand when required but not overbearing. The decor is stylish and was well presented. The food was very nice. Ours varied from Sunday roasts, burgers, fish and chips and children’s food. All was cooked and presented well. Our only issue was the child’s pasta appeared to be pasta mixed with tinned tomatoes. Our grandson did not eat it as it didn’t taste very nice. A proper tomato based sauce would be a better option. We didn’t complain as there was so much on the Roast dinner plates that were served our grandson enjoyed some of this instead. Dessert was lovely and the options offered were great. We were also served a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy. We will definitely return and would highly recommend a visit to this lovely establishment.

After pre booking a table, so pub would've been well aware of their capacity, went there from the theatre hoping to get my daughter some dinner in between her dance shows, was told on arrival food waiting time would be 30 mins, that was OK, was shown to our table and bluntly told 'you order at the bar' aren't pub chains sposed to at least take a drinks order for you? Shocking hospitality. waited in the queue to get up the bar on very slow service only to overhear wait times gone up to 45 min, reached the bar and miraculously it had gone to an hour wait, just to order some hotdogs? I had to completely leave it as my daughter had to be back to the theatre the same time the food would've finally came. Staff were obnoxious about it and gave the poor excuse of 'everyone's coming in at the same time' the pub wasn't even half full! If the pub couldn't deal with a max of about 25 people and clearly is beyond their capabilities then they shouldnt be taking bookings and be a but more forth coming on arrival of the wait, not randomly tell everyone different times. I'll never go here again, not surprised it's closing down. Very poor service.

I love eating at this restaurant. It has a great atmosphere excellent service, and the food just keeps getting better and better. The waiting staff are always warm and friendly, and Lloris, the restaurant manager, is always very welcoming and goes out of his way to make each visit perfect. The food choices on the new menu are delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Also, they offer something different to other restaurants/pubs in the area while retaining some old favourites. The Sunday lunch is fantastic and just keeps getting better.

As a regular customer I wanted to thank the team at Cork and Crust for a wonderful evening. Lloris the restaurant manager always make us feel welcome. The staff at front of house were attentive and a smile for everyone. Now the food. I had the house special King prawns with linguine pasta which was Outstanding and really fabulous. I’m the first to offer criticism when a bad evening but I would really recommend Cork and Crust. Ambiance 8 Service 9 Food 10 Price 8

Popped in with a friend and pleasantly surprised. Nice welcome and chat at the bar. Lovely and warm with fire. Saw the cobs at the end of the bar but had already eaten. Despite being 9pm on a Tuesday evening it was quite busy. This was a lovely little pub which I’d love to have as my local.
