The Guild Brewers Fayre in Bromsgrove

Another pub that claims 11pm closing but won't serve people at 10 because they want an early night.

After pre booking a table, so pub would've been well aware of their capacity, went there from the theatre hoping to get my daughter some dinner in between her dance shows, was told on arrival food waiting time would be 30 mins, that was OK, was shown to our table and bluntly told 'you order at the bar' aren't pub chains sposed to at least take a drinks order for you? Shocking hospitality. waited in the queue to get up the bar on very slow service only to overhear wait times gone up to 45 min, reached the bar and miraculously it had gone to an hour wait, just to order some hotdogs? I had to completely leave it as my daughter had to be back to the theatre the same time the food would've finally came. Staff were obnoxious about it and gave the poor excuse of 'everyone's coming in at the same time' the pub wasn't even half full! If the pub couldn't deal with a max of about 25 people and clearly is beyond their capabilities then they shouldnt be taking bookings and be a but more forth coming on arrival of the wait, not randomly tell everyone different times. I'll never go here again, not surprised it's closing down. Very poor service.

The people who work here are lovely! Just had dinner and was served by Karin who was an amazing, friendly and funny host. Karin also left me a little chocolate after I had eaten. Great customer service from Karin and the team. The food here is great and served quickly. The atmosphere is chill and quiet. Highly recommend.

I had booked several days in advance for a party of 12 - 7 adults, 5 children. When I went to check my emails the day before my booking, imagine my surprise to find that it had been canceled with no reason given! I was very much looking forward to Sunday roast, and family was coming from far away to meet us there. I worked in hospitality for a few decades and this sort of thing is one of those basic mistakes that you just don't make. Hopefully it won't happen to anyone else.

Good pub for a carvery good selection a good place for the kids with a play area.

Great value for money at the Guild. The furniture looks very worn out in places but.....for what we paid, the food was very decent The staff were very good too. Cheap and cheerful, good value place to take the youngsters

Big improvement since last visit It's always bright here & good atmosphere Today we had a carvery , the meat was generously sliced & veg entirely hot & constantly refreshed Only complaint , as always no deserts for diabetics they're all high sugar or covered with chocolate , come on this is 21st century

The restaurant had everything to be good, however, the experience wasn’t the best, we booked the table at 8:15pm but they stopped serving 8:30pm 15min isn’t enough time when you have two ADHD people who are very indecisive on what to eat so I would change the last booking to 8:00pm instead of 8:15. Then when everyone on the table finally decided what they wanted we went to order and guess what they didn’t have it so had to reorder quickly. The table available was just the ones near the pub as the other side was closed for the other day, we had to sit with a 12 year old child near the pub smelling alcohol and seen people drink it not impressed. And to make the experience even worse the sauces were in saches which when I managed to open one of them it flew out onto my husband’s trousers. So, I would either get the bottle of mayo and ketchup or put in a small container when the guest asks those saches are not very good experiences for most customers specially when they have disability.

Poor selection on the carvery. Dried gammon and peas were the order of the day. Wolverine must of been upset about it also given the state of the seat we were given

Pleasant staff. Felt sorry for them. Reserved table sunday. Order food at bar,no table service,no tabs. 4 meals ordered, only 3 available, so one changed order. No pint glasses!!! Run out of things!!! Food was nice to be fair. Bell rang at 9..assumed end of meal orders. We had just purchased 2nd bottle of wine and 2 pints. 9.30 asked to leave as closing...we paid £18.99 for wine. Took outside and sat in drizzle rain...lot of disatisfied customers also doing same. Apparently venue being shut down anyway

Food was very tasty had Sunday lunch the plates were cold which made food go cold quick

What a total waste of money the food was dry and tasteless my partner had the vegetarian option which was as bad as my I think it was meat option never again

They do lovely help yourself breakfasts here both cooked and continental, vegetarian and vegan options available

What a lovely friendly place to have an evening meal after a long journey on the road traveling for work. The staff were absolutely brilliant & extremely friendly. The food was quick and delicious too. I hope it continues to thrive in this lovely area x

Ate here on a Saturday evening. We didn't book but we were lucky to get a table so I'd advise booking at this time. Was told there was a 30 minute wait on food which was OK as we wasn't in a rush, but it took nearly 50 minutes to arrive. It was nice when it did though, and despite being ran off their feet, the staff were friendly. Good variety on the menu too. Cleanliness was good also.

Nothing too much trouble for him helping us by setting tables for our large gathering to our liking. Even took photos of our group for us before we left. Will definitely visit again.

Didnt like the fish was rock hard inside the batter dryd up told them thay just lookd at it!

I will never return there kids food looked like they put in the microwave the pasta was like rubber my kids didn't touch the food glad really the adults mains not worth money at all looks like something they have brought frozen from farmfoods and soon as you walk in its filthy dirty all the seats are torn with all the stuffing hanging out holes in the seats to there was a dirty plate left on the tables looks like it had been left there all day tables had marks and dirt on them from where pepole have sat before hand so they couldn't even wipe the tables down or the menu it's just dirty walls have holes on wall paper missing garden had rubbish everywhere black going up the building can't tell If it's mold or where some one has set it on fire please I wouldn't recommend this place for food don't waste your money

Devika our extremely helpful and pleasant waitress made my breakfast experience much better than the food deserved. She’s a treasure.

Was dining for a family member birthday and had a small mix up with food but thankfully our server charlie was able to sort everything out for us and was extremely apologetic. 10/10 customer service

Food was absolutely disgusting! Cleanliness not upto standard at all! Lady serving us was nice enough but the place its self is a real let down. Definitely won’t be returning! toilets absolutely smell mouldy!

Food was only ok nothing special, steak was abit burnt and food wasn't amazing. Was a long queue at the bar to order and a longer wait than normal for food. Tables around us were messy underneath.

Called in for food when staying at the Premier inn overnight. Extremely busy Easter Saturday and they seemed under staffed, and only one queue for both food and drinks. The food however was very good.

Lovely child friendly place with a really tasty and value for money carvery. All the staff are friendly but Devika is amazing, she is always smiling and goes out of her way to make sure everything is ok... she's a real credit to the Guild

We got to The Guild at 8-30 am. Our Google Map guide said that this place was not busy. The empty car park suggested that that was the case. We asked for breakfast for 2 adults and a child and were asked if we had booked? We said no as Google Maps said it was a quiet time to visit. The empty tables scattered to the left and right of the reception backed that up. We were told that they were fully booked and had no room for us. We thought it was a joke, then after tapping on the screen a few times and a shake of the head, we were turned away. We got back to our car to try and plan our next move that Google Maps could provide. That gave us "The Three Pears" in Worcester. So we plotted it into our Maps and moved off. We got 30 meters going past the entrance to see 3 more families that had been turned away. One chap was fuming and not at all happy. We exchanged views about being treated poorly, and I drove on towards Worcester. As we left, Google Maps said that "The Guild" was still not busy. (DOH)! I later thought that if 4 families had been turned away and each spending £20-30 in one hour, that equates to around £1000 between breakfast and evening meal time. Good work if you can get it.

Stayed at the premier inn Bromsgrove for work march 2024 . First impression of the guild pub was amazing . Was met by a lovely waitress Devika. She was happy, bubbly , chatty and put us all at ease . Equally she was very attentive to other customers and very efficient. Lovely lady who set us up for a great day . Equally Amy , this morning whom I believe was in charge , lovely smiley , chatty and extremely helpful . She went the extra mile , cleaning marks off the windows in her down time , things others would have left . Both a credit to the venue . Food was lovely too and would definitely return and also recommend

Stayed at premier in across the road. Breakfast service was great, very helpful friendly staff, especially Devika and Amy.

Very disappointed at this place, we felt discriminated as adults are allowed in the playground but kids over 145cm are band . We have been told adults are helping their children, but in same place my daughter was not allowed to help her cousin,very unfair. Manager at this place was rude and unhelpful. Rules are different for difrent people. If got a chance would put zero 🌟

We were going to the theatre next door so chose this for convenience. It was busy but there is no excuse for serving lukewarm, soggy fish and chips and cold mushy peas. We had waited so long for the food to come it was a case of send it back and go hungry or eat some of it. Very disappointed and would not go again.

The kind of food you would typically expect from a local pub. Not very much to write home for. The drinks were quite expensive for a pub and the food was pretty average. Everything tasted ok but just felt as if it was missing a lot of flavour.

Main meals came out before the starters chips looked as theo where yesterday's not to good

It's a really good place to go for both good food and a friendly atmosphere. Have been there on a few occasions and have always been pleased with the service provided. Highly recommended.

Ten of us went for breakfast this morning, it was very busy as it was Mother’s Day, the service & food were both excellent. Would highly recommend. Excellent value for money.

First time eating, had a carvery which was nice. The only thing let it down was the beef it was a bit tough.I will go again and hopefully the beef will be better.would recommend.

We were out for the wifes birthday with friends of the family, the soft play is always a good distraction for the kids, and the food arrived in good time. Mine and my wife's food was delicious. However, 4 of the 8 kids in our group became very ill the next day. They had all eaten the same kids main! Requests for cocktails are met by staff members with an eye roll. At one point, we were told we'd be shown the door if we requested a cocktail from one particular member of staff. They consistently lied about missing ingredients to avoid making certain drinks! All in all, I like Brewers Fayre, but unfortunately, my local "the guild" is not a good example. Poorly managed, they don't want to make you a cocktail, and they're potentially dishing out food poisoning.

Lovely visit here today. We had a large booking for a special occasion and the staff were lovely and accommodating. A special thank you to Steph who was really friendly and helpful.

Staff are rude mannered(cutting eyes), the refillable drinks lie about there flavours only have one of each flavour and really put me off my visits as a whole

We didn't eat when we visited this time but we took our children to the soft play. It's a really great play area and very good value. There is a separate area for toddlers which is ideal if you have children of different ages. It looked clean inside and we got a timed entry wristband so it didn't get overcrowded. There are some tables, but one downside is that there isn't a great deal of seating, which is why we didn't get food. The hot drinks are refillable, so a real bargain to get while the little ones play. Can't comment on service except that we got a nice welcome when we arrived.

Me and my husband recently popped in to grab a bite to eat, unfortunately I found melted plastic in my food. Told our server who couldn't be less bothered so decided to tell the lady behind the bar who was more then happy to help. She immediately got the manager who refunded both our meals.

Wasn’t very busy when I went, as usual the food was bland and had to wait 30min for my dessert which came out cold and even the custard had a skin on it from being sat for so long before being served up! Shocking to be honest

Went here for a meal.found they had a kids play area that I didn't know about but my daughter who has ADHD didn't have to be told to sit still which she struggles with so while we ordered she went to play in soft play area untill our orders was ready

The food is good but the play area is brilliant my son loves it

Literally the worst food ive ever eaten, chips where inedible and the bacon cheese burger tasted of fat. Also the door to the kitchen is slamming everytime someone comes through it, very annoying.

Been for the breakfast a few times now. Always kept on top of so there is plenty. Really friendly person greets us. Have to put car registration in as.you.walk onto the restaurant. Have a guide if you have dietary restrictions. There is a kids play area that opens from lunch time as long as there are no parties there.

We didn't eat. We took our 3 children to the play zone which was reasonably priced, spacious and clean...however the pub itself , was clean BUT hardly any barstaff. One member of staff behind the bar who is also taking food orders meaning the que was ridiculous. They really need to employ more staff. Stayed about 90mins

Went to the soft play with 2 little ones,£4-50 for 90minutes which was good value...at the bar service was very slow due to them being understaffed.

Food was below average, stake was asked for rare came out medium, kids food came out on scolding hot plates(event the waiter was holding them with a towel) told us it was only warm💁asked for cold plates got huffed at and then plate of food chucked on the table

Told it was full and we should have booked. We phoned from the premises and booked, obviously not full. At no stage during our lunch and drinks was the venue more than a third full.

Great value! We eat out every Christmas eve, this year we came here. We chose this restaurant due to the soft play area and its easy to get to with plenty of parking. It can get busy but always able to book in advance. We have been many times before for breakfast, lunch and even Christmas day and we're never disappointed with the quality or value for the food. The staff are friendly and helpful. My daughter and I both had the smothered platter, some had burgers and others had fish and chips. You always get hot fresh food and great portions.

Lovely Christmas turkey dinner with an after eight mint sundae! Friendly staff but not enough of them when receiving guests at the desk. There were quite a few people who came in at once and we ended up queuing with them even when we had made a reservation. One of the members of the staff showed us to the table and she was lovely. All the staff and the food really did make up for the short wait at the beginning. Thanks so much 😊

We are weekly regulars at the guild , it is brilliant value for money , but most of all the staff are just amazing ,so welcoming and friendly, especially AMY B😁 she really knows how to make you feel at home and comfortable. Also the way she helps my Nan margret and walks her to her favourite table also brightens up her day . Basically amy b can turn any stormy day sunny. After writing this review now as a local food critic that has just got home from an exceptional meal and service from amy b at the guild , I’m finding my self now wanting more.

Booked table for 4.30, was told table not available yet. Waited over 45 mins then had to chase up with staff. Hardly any food left on carvery and only 2 meats.Food not very hot. Had to chase up desserts as they didn’t arrive for a long time. Tables all needed emptying, lack of staff. Ladies toilets near children’s area filthy, sanitary bin overflowing and no toilet roll.

We decided to have breakfast here (we didn't have time on and it was amazing! We both had their big breakfast along unlimited tea, coffee and juices! Will bring the whole family back on the weekend!

We had an excellent night watching Quill in concert. They were awesome as usual and the venue was spot on Lovely venue with a great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. If you are local this venue deserves your attention.

Excellent value for a weekend treat with the kids we usually use it before a day at the football. Staff are really friendly food is always very good. Kids eat free so why wouldn't you give yourself a morning off and have a full breakfast of a weekend?

Food fairly average although they cooked the steaks nicely. Staff friendly and helpful but totally overwhelmed with customers so everything was slow.

Met two friends for a meal before going to the Artrix. It was about 5.30 and busy, but we got served quickly and had excellent meals and puddings off the "2 for £11.99" menu. Served by pleasant friendly staff. Very good value for the money as were the £2.99 puddings. Will be looking to return.

Dirty place with microwaved food

We arrived at the premier inn late last night and was hungry so we called in here and it was 9.30 the girl on the till was really friendly and served us, and the food was absolutely lovely piping hot and so tasty we all had different meals and we were more than happy. Returned here for breakfast abit of a queue but everything spot on and so tasty will definitely be returning

Went there for a family breakfast, the breakfast was lovely and so was the service. We had Claire looking after us and she did an amazing job. Me and my son stayed for lunch, the kids food that we ordered for lunch wasn’t what we expected so Claire went above and beyond to sort out the issue

Absolutely great place! Cheap and cheerful, lovely food. We came as a table of 6 for breakfast and the service provided was super! Devika goes above and beyond to keep customers happy. We will definitely be back😊
