Trip down memory lane visiting after 30 years, simply amazing.

The accommodation of the group was very well placed and the food was excellent. As this was a bereavement group I believe the staff were advised accordingly and so we were not rushed but we would have liked a bit quicker service. Not a complaint, because I believe the staff were being extremely respectful. The food was superb and we will definitely go back before we move away from the area.

We had a wonderful roast dinner - atmosphere was great. We were served by Laura; she was kind, helpful, attentive and had a great sense of humour! We will be back here soon :)

Went here today for Sunday lunch. Plenty of options Food was lovely all fresh and hot, staff very friendly. Cosy pub and large outdoor seating. Never knew about this gem of a pub definitely will be going back

Stopped for lunch on a whim. We were met by Laura who was very welcoming and guided us to a table. Throughout, she was polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Even tho she was very busy, she always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Food arrived promptly and was very nice. We particularly liked the lemon tart. Well done Laura, a credit to your restaurant.

Love this place, great atmosphere and service. Good menu, well cooked and presented. Always made to feel welcome, great staff provide a good atmosphere in a relaxed setting. I personally enjoy a selection of small plates, friends enjoy the salmon when available, the fish and the steaks.

We had a great Sunday dinner will be going back again,and for a evening meal.

If it was the manager leading the team then he caused a drop in service. We waited at the desk, behind other diners, with staff all around but no one greeted us. The manager was behind the serving station and kept looking at us but was 5 minutes before he came and spoke to the other diners, no apologies for the delay! After a few more minutes he greeted our group, again no apologies for the delay. The service, in general was slow and not what we expected. The food was good, when it arrived. We all expected more, especially from the manager. I had added details of a birthday of a member of our group, there was no mention, or acknowledgment of this. If I had a red pen I’d write ‘must try harder’. Can’t blame the general staff but, as I say, the manager must do better.

We spent the evening here celebrating our friend’s 40th birthday on 24/1/25. A wonderful young guy called Rohan looked after us all evening. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he kept the bar flowing quicly A real treasure for the Lyttleton Arms! Thank you so much.

Food was excellent, service overall very good although we ordered our drinks and they took a while to come but once we asked our waitress she got onto it straight away. Note to bar staff , when serving a spirit with a mixer not everyone likes the glass filled to the top

Very well furnished and plenty of staff. Nice atmosphere and good access and parking. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. We went on a Saturday lunch time and it was busy. Recommend booking a table (on their website).

Lovely evening, the only downside was we were seated by an open window that was broken and couldn't be closed. It was a birthday celebration 🎂 🎈 and we cut our evening short because we were so cold 🥶 The draught was terrible. We did discuss this with the staff and even asked for a small blow heater but unfortunately nothing was available. We will return as the food was perfect. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient Recommend you visit.

Amazing food and lovely waitress called Laura, made my friends birthday meal a very special occasion. Can’t recommend enough and Laura is a credit to the restaurant.

Even though we are local, it was our first visit to the pub. We were very impressed with the pub Although we hadn’t booked and the pub was very busy the lovely hostess (dark hair and glasses) was very welcoming and found us a table within a few minutes. We ordered a bottle of wine and 2 mains and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Our Waitress Tia was very friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough to help. Watching the other staff everyone seemed very happy and it was a really nice atmosphere to dine in. Nice selection of wines too. We will be back.

Unfortunately my review is based on the half roast chicken and prime burger. I wish we had taken photos. We really expected something better than weatherspoons. Items were missing also on a very minimal plate. You dont expect dry and overcooked. The drinks were nice, the chips were nice...just the main part that really let it down.

The pub is lovely however the food is not worthy of the prices. We had a chateaubriand that was very disappointing and was poorly cooked. Also the portion sizes are very small. We had a 12 and 14 year old in our party who had adult meals and they were still hungry after the mains. The salt grinder had a piece of white plastic in it, which and the exterior lighting was turned off as we left at a very early 9.20pm both of which are poor safety issues. Our server was lovely. If we didn't have a discount voucher for the meal I would have been very disappointed with our visit and couldn't recommend the restaurant for these reasons.

From reaching out to ask about a surprise 80th birthday for my mom till we finished our day yesterday the staff and management were so helpful and accommodating. As I live abroad it makes arranging these type of things a little harder and yet it was a lot easier than anticipated. The room was great, the food was lovely and hot when it arrived, the bar staff were helpful and efficient. If I had any constructive feedback it would be for the pre-order site to be improved when ordering for more than one person, everyone, young and old found it difficult

Lovely food and great service, would recommend if a group also, we were 14 people all happy on a Sunday for lunch. Good location and lots of parking. Eryn was our server and very attentive

Absolutely fab meal, starter main and dessert all delicious, got a free glass of Prosecco on the house as it was our anniversary and they even wrote happy anniversary on the dessert plate! Sammys service was immaculate and truly made the day for us !

Emily was so attentive!! Couldn’t have had better service, her attitude was so friendly and lovely. Would come back here just for her!! Made us laugh all night. So lovely to have staff that really make the experience perfect. Thank you Emily!

Good atmosphere and lovely interior. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was quick and professional at the bar. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t have any. Had a few issues booking - called up to book a drinks table and I wasn’t actually put on the system when I called up to double check. Dirty sanitary bins overflowing and no hand soap in ladies toilets. Other than that, we had a pleasant experience.

My salad was very disappointing. I had one very small piece of avocado and the tomatoes were tasteless and hard. We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed, this time not the case. My husband's meal was fine

Service was amazing. Food was outstanding. The setting was stunning. There are no negatives at all. I am usually the person that has problems with food as I am so picky, and there is always something that isn't right, there was absolutely no.problems with the food at all. The only thing that was left on my plate was broccoli just because I don't like them, not that there was anything wrong. The setting was beautiful. We were not squashed in close to other patrons, which was great. I cannot recommend this place high enough. Everything was perfect.

The staff were excellent.. However there was a gap of around 1 1/2 hours between the starters & main which was blamed on the booking system. During the “gap period” there was a maximum of 1 table eating. Clearly the kitchen was in meltdown

We were a group of 8 on the first sitting at 12 noon. The food was excellent and the service brilliant. One of our party had accessibility issues and this was recorded at the time of booking and the staff were very accommodating

We had our Christmas do here, Laura was our host and she was exceptionally amazing. She was very patient and attentive. All the staff were friendly and professional. The food was very scrumptious and I really enjoyed the ambience. I will be visiting again with my friends in the summer, as the outside sitting looks beautiful.

Visited for breakfast with Santa. The Santa was great, but that’s about it. Took 30minutes for drinks to arrive, and an hour and half waiting to see Santa. The food didn’t arrive for an hour and 45minutes, and when it did, it was cold. This was changed for a fresh meal. Children’s meals served on HOT plates, despite the above food being cold. No children cutlery available, and drinks served to children in inappropriate glasses - not sure who in their right mind thinks bringing a toddler a glass of water in a half pint glass is acceptable. On the note of drinks, in the nearly 2.5hours we were there, we were only asked if we would like more beverages once. Inattentive would be an understatement. The service was lacklustre, with the staff showing little interest, the food was what you’d expect from a basic pub, not what the Lyttleton suggests to be. All in all, the service and meal could only be described as disappointing. We did have a reduction in bill, but honestly, doubt we will return in a hurry.

As usual our staff Christmas meal was enjoyed by us all. We will certainly be going again

The ambiance was nice but the service time was very poor and my sticky toffee pudding was barley lukewarm and not properly cooked through. A dog was also barking . If I had known that dogs were welcomed I would have booked elsewhere.

Laura looked after us beautifully all food arriving together, and apologised my drink was late as the bar had run out of Dry Martini!!! A fabulous get together for my friends and I from Birmingham and Canada!

Good function room had a good day meet friends and we had a entertainment including Santa was really good kids loved it 🎅🎅

Big posh pub. Lovely interior and lovely outdoor area- but over £7 for a pint of ordinary bitter!! u gotta be joking! Such a rip off. Needless to say- I'll wont be going back!

We went to the Christmas Breakfast with Santa, and left feeling a little disappointed tbh. Whilst the Santa, Grotto and Elf were really good. The breakfast itself was so small. We also had to request our toast, which came 5 mins after our breakfast and we had 6 half pieces, to share amongst 5 adults and 4 kids! For a cost of over £150, it wasn't great.

The ambience is very warm and inviting and a lovely atmosphere. The food and drinks were ordered easily and promptly for a party of 3. The reason why it wasn't 5 stars, our food order took absolutely ages to reach the table I didn't realise it had been over an hour. We prompted our new server Kelsey, who was friendly immediately checked and came back with our food. The service immediately improved and no fault to be found for deserts etc. I would recommend it to others for the nice atmosphere.

Went with a large party of 15 staff friendly and polite good choice of drinks however food for a few of us was poor no consistency very long waiting time what a shame we sat at the main road side of the restaurant windows require serious maintenance so cold wouldn't recommend.

15 of us went last night, only 3 meals looked ok. My chicken was hard and overcooked and I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of others so I told the waitress who just said sorry ( they’re obviously used to complaints). For £18 for 2 pieces of chicken and a few potatoes was really overpriced. I was warned it wasn’t good so won’t be going again and the fact I didn’t have a reduction on my bill, won’t be going again. We sent our order for food weeks ago so shouldn’t have been a problem. When the bill came with a surcharge and the £10 which we had to pay wasn’t taken off until someone remembered. Not happy 😡😡

Convenient halfway point for family get-together. Food was fine, but at lunchtime it would have been good for some lighter options on the menu for those who might not want a full dining experience. Unusually the dining room was cold.

15 of us had dinner here last night and it was outstanding. Really easy to arrange, fabulous food, and superb service - huge credit to Laura for looking after us all so incredibly well. Thanks also to the chef and his/ her team for such wonderful food. We will be back!

Very nice place to eat. Only four stars given, because the fish was more batter than fish. Love the surroundings, the Christmas trimmings were beautiful and gives the whole place a nice and cosy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others .

Well I met my friend for lunch food was nice booking 12 we were there at 11.50 we were asked to wait outside for 10 mins as customers were not allowed in till 12 then half way through our meal a girl with baby and mother were put on next table the mother kept talking loud the girl was trying to stop baby crying was feeding baby toys on the floor so as my friend couldn't hear me we moved to bar for coffee we were disappointed. I was not happy. The waitress said you will have to pay bill at table before we move to bar. I think women with babies should be put away from people trying to relax. I shall think twice in future wasnt very relaxing. Janet smith

Booked here for a family lunch get together on Sunday 17 November 2024. Because we had been there in the past on several occasions and had been impressed with everything. It was also a central point to meet up for those of us who had travelled for the occasion. The atmosphere was just as we remembered and it was very busy. Always a good sign. One of our party was a ceoliac and I have several food allergies not intolerances. My husband emailed all the details and was assured they could cater for us, so he booked with confidence that all would be well. Sadly on the day this was not the case. On inputting my allergies into the allergy guide I was left with a Sunday lunch of cabbage, green veg and carrot. Our server was great however and went above and beyond to help. After several back and forward trips to the kitchen she eventually came up with a plain chicken breast, new potatoes, cabbage and a whole roast carrot. We supplied our own gravy. They do not have dairy free gravy. The food was all cooked really well and everyone was happy with the quality and quantity. They did have a dessert that I was able to have which was good. I expected better of a gastro pub of this calibre. Apparently most of the food is bought in and only has to be taken from a packet and cooked. The gravy is premade and the chickens are pre packed ready seasoned.I was only charged for a childs meal because of the limitations. The rest of the party said they would go again but sadly my husband and I will not. Once again I have to praise and thank our server. She was brilliant only wish I could remember her name.

We are here as a group of 13 including 2 children. Booking process was very easy online and we had a small private room which was perfect for our group. Whole pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Service was attentive and everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. Kids menu had good variety and there was clear allergy info. Overall was very impressed.

Had Sunday lunch, 5 people. I chose the trio of roasts sharer with my son. Plenty of food for two, and was cooked perfectly. Sat in the dining area which was very comfortable. We were served by the friendly Laura, was most helpful with the choice of desserts for the rest of the family. Vid of the chocolate bomb pudding, my son was most impressed 😋

We've been here several times. The food is excellent and the service is always good. Last night lived up to expectations. We had two courses which were delicious and Paige was on hand just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed. Great place to go for something special without going into Birmingham. Wow!!! What can we say!? Booked here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We ordered the wine and dine experience. Wife had Scallops as starter and I had Sticky Chicken. Both had ribeye steaks. I never order ribeye, but my god it was exceptional. Creme brule pudding. 10/10. Food was exceptional. Service out this world. We felt like royalty. Thankyou so much. Will 100% return.

We had a private party in the peacock room with a buffet. The room was perfect and gave the kids plenty room to run around. Great that it had its own loos and bar. Everyone commented on how lovely the room was and also how delicious the buffet food was. It was a lovely bonus having been upgraded to that room for free as there had been a cancellation.

Lunch with my two children. We all came from different directions and the restaurant was an excellent choice. I'd recommend it 👌

With a large group of family . We were seated in the furtherest corner, it was dark and depressing. With the toilet facilities on the other side of the building it was difficult for some to access. Service was slow but took an age even though it was pretty ordered. When the food did arrive, it tasted wonderful,but may be because we were hungry. Nice place , nice food ,slow on service when your spending £600+

I love this pub though I haven't been for quite some time. I was really looking forward to sharing the chateaubriand which is what I had last time but I was gutted to see they had stopped doing it. Last night they only had Rib eye steak, they'd run out of fillet. Only one special out of the three was available. I really struggled to find anything on the menu to order. In the end I order cod and chips. My husband had pork belly. I'd describe our meals as average. The fat from the fish had run all through the chips, so I left those. My husbands pork was quite tough and needed cooking for just a little longer. The service was superb, the ambience is lovely in there. Just disappointed with the food quality and the menu.

Great decor, good selection of food and drinks, however , visit let down by service. Eventually served by miserable unapologetic staff member, clearly returning from the stock room with boxes "Sorry to keep you waiting / thanks for your patience", and a smile would be a big improvement. Better luck next time.
