We came for drinks only and booked a table in the bar. Service was great. Lovely table we had and we were able to have it all evening. Live music was on and a great atmosphere

My partner and I had a meal out recently and the service and food were fantastic. The staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and the atmosphere was ideal for the romantic evening we were hoping for.

My husband and I visited the BGI for Sunday dinner. Food and service were both first class. We will definitely be returning!

Upmarket place frequented by some well heeled customers, mainly couples. Dimmed lighting adds to cosy atmosphere. Spacious restaurant area with familiar menu to other venues under the same ownership (M&B). Ample parking, situated next to well established cricket club.

We came for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. Served by Katie, came with family and we all loved it. Two of the party had the sharer trio of roasts and it was beautiful. Looked great and tasted amazing.

Prebooked a table in the bar for something to eat after a 10 mile hike in the area. Staff very friendly and helpful. In the bar area you have to goto the bar to order food, its the same menu which is fine. Food was good. large portions so good value for money. We had 2 starters, 4 mains and lots to drink. The only thing that disapointed me was that the menu is the same as the Victoria pub down the road which we ate at a couple of weeks previously for a friends birthday.

La sopa estaba fría, la camarera lo arregló sin problema, el bistec (ojo de costilla) era un poco arenoso y las uvas en el queso y galletas suaves. El menú era variado y el vino bueno. Qué lástima que tuviéramos grandes esperanzas. Lamentablemente no volverá.

Booked weeks in advance for a birthday meal on a Sunday, most roasts were off the menu at 6.30pm lady serving us was rude and snatched the menu off myself. Food was nice but for the price and the rudeness I would eat elsewhere and save yourself the hassle!

Came here on Sunday 27th October and had a table of 10 for a family members birthday. The table was booked well in advance and when we arrived we sat and waited a little while for the waitress to take and of our drinks and food order. When we had all decided what we wanted we were told there was a number of items not available! Would have 1, been helpful to advise this before we decided what we wanted and 2, the amount of options no longer available was ridiculous. The only roasts we could have was chicken and pork belly! For a Sunday when most people want a roast this as disgusting. When we questioned the waitress she became very rude and defensive and said “well this is very normal for a Sunday”. Well if the restaurant is used to running out of roasts on a Sunday u would have thought they would order more food in to avoid disappointment especially knowing you have a large table of 10 people booked in! There was nothing offered to us for the disappointment and will make me question ever coming here again. Not a good experience for a first visit!

We waited for over an hour for burgers today. Not great service, food was mediocre.

Booked four weeks in advance for a Sunday evening 6.30 to be told when we got there that there was no roasts available and had sold out. If we had known this could be a possibility we would not have booked

Had a fantastic family Sunday dinner. Our server Agne was absolutely incredible. My father has dementia and she went above and beyond. She showed such kindness and was so attentive to his needs. Well above what we would expect. She made the experience even better and allowed us to relax and enjoy the great food.

We came for a Sunday lunch. The menu had changed and it was great. We had the sharer roast which was new on the menu. It looked great and tasted incredible. We will be returning and brining our family next time.

Awful service this evening (Wednesday 9th Oct). Clearly very understaffed. Why take the bookings if you are unable to handle them?. Waitress Heather said there was a wait on food but did not specify, we could see they were busy so fair enough but to end up waiting 50 minutes seemed a little far (if it was going to be this long I think we should have been more clearly forewarned). Food arrived and was nice, not worth its price perhaps, asked for ketchup, was handed satchets? Satchets? Waitress apologised for this when clearing our plates, satchets are for food outside! We then asked for dessert menu, waited 20 - 25 mins for someone to take the order, I ended up having to get someone to take it. No offer of any refund or for something to be removed from the bill. I think given the service we received this evening that this should have been pro-actively done. Will not be returning. £117 for a near 3 hour meal (there was only 3 of us) that includes just the main and Desserts.

The pub is a beautiful setting, seemed very busy but it was a sunday so understandable, it was lovely inside. Unfortunately I think the staff were overwhelmed as we did not get any service for drinks or given menus so had to go up to the bar ourselves to order as we had waited a while and no one came over to speak with us. The service was very slow, but we were not in a rush so it didn't matter especially to us, I could understand this may be an issue if you were on a timeframe. The food however was lovely and I would definitely reccomend the sunday roast, the pudding was also lovely, so worth the wait. I would 100% visit again. I think the only downside was service, but we may have just been unlucky on that day. We also had to go up and pay as no one came over to ask if we wanted the bill. But lovely place to visit and the cute fire was lovely and inviting.

The one guy behind the bar (i believe the manager) was a little rude tbh. Wont be going back again in a hurry as i just dont like rude people!

The food, the service and the decor are 10/10

Food quality, taste and temperature all excellent. Time between courses seemed a bit quick and we had a 3 course meal in 75 mins from arrival to paying the bill. Would be nice to have a bit longer between courses. Other than that it was an excellent visit and we will be back.

Great for families! Good food with varied menu at a reasonable price. Our waitress, Agnes was brilliant and attentive to our needs, which was impressive given that our party ranged in ages between one and eighty three!

Agnes who served us was very friendly and the food was lovely, we felt relaxed even with the little ones so overall a good evening out with the family.

Ordered trio of meats, no stuffing, no crackling, no bread sauce. Chicken way over cooked and dry, pork freezing cold, beef was nice, mixed greens were undercooked whilst carrot and parsnip were overcooked and soggy. Wouldn’t order again.

My meal was forgotten. All my family had their meals and were eating them. My food never came. They offered to cook it, but I had a refund, as didn't want to eat alone!

This place is great for meet ups with friends or business lunches! Lovely atmosphere and great staff plus the food is tasty

Really good food, good menu choices

We attended as a table of 6, and were served by Agnes. A brilliant afternoon celebrating my father in law's birthday and Agnes was really attentive, really engaging with my niece and made our experience a brilliant one. We love the Barnt Green too, we frequently go for celebrations and get togethers, the ambience is amazing and the food is always delicious.

Great place but slow service Sunday.

We had a table booked for 12 on a Friday night for a colleague's leaving do. Food was great and enjoyed by all. I want to give a special mention though to our server Agnes. Being a large party we would have been a complex table, especially when it came to paying the bill, but Agnes was brilliant. She got everything right and was fantastically patient with us. Having someone who is attentive without being pushy makes a meal out so much more special and she got the ballance perfect. Thank you for making it a great evening.

A warm welcome from all staff on arrival. There was a long queue at the bar when we arrived, bar staff served everyone quickly and we found a table to sit at despite everywhere being very busy. There was a singer outside getting ready to deliver his set. Indoors relaxed Ibiza sounds were playing, providing a good "vibe". We were unable to hear the singer once he began his set due to the music being played inside. We were soon seated in the restaurant and immediately asked for a drinks order. As we knew what we wanted to eat we also placed our food order. The service was excellent throughout the evening. The food (all 3 courses) was fantastic. Beautifully presented, excellent taste and plentiful. We really enjoyed dining at The Barnt Green Inn and will be returning again soon.

Its a lovely place, wicked decor and amazing food. My sister and I went on a Saturday evening and had the wine and dine experience. This was a three course meal and a bottle of wine for £100. The food was amazing, my sister had sea salt & cracked black pepper squid for her starter and the British half rotisserie chicken for her main. But i had the carrot & Coriander soup for starter. The Roasted celeriac steak (shallots) for my main and we both had the sicilian lemon tart to finish.

A lovely place for a beer and bite to eat Staff are helpful and polite. Lovely evening spent whilst the sun was out and great place to sit and have a drink.

Booked a table for two and had three courses, all were brilliant , all team members were very professional and attentive. Our server was a young lady with blue hair who was very friendly and polite. Can't fault anything with the experience will definitely recommend.

Food was a little expensive for the portion size

Was looking forward to having our Sunday roast here today , but unfortunately was disappointed. There was 3 of us and we all had the roast each . Meals were just warm , disappointing! Also the roast potatoes were as if they had been re heated so chewy . Very polite waitress . I would not recommend the roast . I would return and try something different. Would have been nice to receive a response from the kitchen when they were told the 3 meals were just about warm 😔.

Today I visited the Barnt Green Inn for lunch and unfortunately left with a sour taste in my mouth—not because of the food, but due to the inconsiderate behaviour of some patrons. The inn has five disabled parking spaces, all of which were occupied by individuals who clearly didn’t need them. It was disheartening to witness a lady in a wheelchair being forced to park further away, simply because some selfish people were too lazy to walk a few extra steps. None of these drivers showed any sign of remorse, which really speaks volumes about the kind of clientele this place attracts. As for the food, it was decent—nothing spectacular, but certainly not bad. However, the experience was marred by the blatant disregard for accessibility, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. It’s a shame because this could have been an enjoyable visit, but the lack of respect for disabled individuals left a bitter impression.

The food was delicious. We were served by Heather who was so lovely and welcoming. It was a big birthday table and the service was brilliant.

Brought my friend here for lunch today and we had a great time. Food was so tasty, beer garden was packed and the weather was great. Staff were so busy and everyone was well looked after

Very unhappy with the service we received after having burnt food that my wife bit into and hurt her mouth on. No apology at all and had to ask for a refund, rather than the dessert that was begrudgingly offered. Shame because it seemed like a really nice place at first and the menu sounded very impressive but the steak sandwich was extremely tough and the previously mentioned burnt sandwich came with a salad that was really disappointing and definitely not a good replacement for the chips... and very expensive for what was pretty basic food. Most annoying was the attitude of the server who came to ask what was wrong with our food though. Just clearly didn't want to be there and wasn't remotely friendly or apologetic about the burnt bread.

Have been here a few times, has always been great with friendly staff. The menu has a good choice food is great too. Came back on 14/12/23 was excellent i had the fixed corse season menu was very good with nice choices. Our waitress Agnes was superber and so friendly with a constant smile, thank you Came back again 26/07/24 lovely meal once again the starter was beautiful the Jaquin Buchette Goats Cheese, so fresh

Food was good, though fries were served cold and we did have to ask for desserts twice over 45 mins, when cheese came some of it was dry around the edges like it had been cut and left out for a while

A wonderful atmosphere in a gorgeous old inn. The Sunday roast was fabulous and the service from Izzy was perfect.

Very disappointing. As a celiac the menu is horrendous. No choices for gluten-free. You are expected to cross reference everything for yourself. The staff will not help you by telling you what is gluten-free. I don't expect to have to do 20 mins work to find something suitable. I will not return. No stars are deserved. Terrible!

Unsure of timings due to a meeting in Gloucester so turned up at 1.25pm for lunch. Waitress Heather was charming and we decided to eat in due to the hot weather outside and were pleased to find inside airconditioned . She warned us that there might be a wait due to a lot of people eating both outside and inside but we didn’t feel we had to wait longer than normal for our two course set lunch. The only thing we had to wait for was our drinks. I felt so sorry for the bartender who was rushed off his feet on his own (the queue for the bar was out of the door). We felt that the pub management should have put someone else on as well knowing the weather was set to be a very warm week and more people than usual would turn up, especially at the Barnt Green Inn, where the outside seating is lovely and spacious. Heather kindly went and poured the drinks for us herself even though she was extremely busy too. Our food was delicious. We both had the fish cakes with salad (prepared by chef Izzy) and a cold pudding and it was all superb. A lovely visit and we’ll be back.

Heather H served both my mum & I this evening, and she was wonderful. Friendly, attentive without being over-bearing and made our evening so enjoyable, along with the delicious food. She gave us personal recommendedations and seated us at a lovely spacious table. Drinks were served promptly as was the food. The chef cooked our food to perfection! Thank you. We look forward to coming back again soon! The best place in Barnt Green by far!!

Had a great experience. Came with my wife and my 5 month old daughter. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was perfect. Izzey was our waitress and was exceptional. She seems to really enjoy her job! Anton and George were in the kitchen and I can’t fault the quality of the food. I work at the RSC M&B head office and I must say it’s one of the best businesses I’ve visited in a while. Keep up the good work!

Excellent family pub, with lots of outdoor space, and friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately, although the menu looks varied and mouthwatering, the food is decidedly ordinary, and does not live up to its publicity. New chef required.

The Barnt Green has been our favourite pub for the last 3 years since we moved to the area. We've taken friends and family here and have always been impressed with the food and atmosphere. Izzey has served us this evening and a couple of times before and she is lovely, always friendly, patient and thoughtful. Would recommend to anyone who wants great food in a cozy, aesthetically pleasing environment

Super happy service. Dinner was lovely. White crab on sourdough and scallops lovely, fish and chips was GORGEOUS! The duck salad was not as I expected, but pleasant. I've never had coconut flakes on salad and that was pleasant. Very generous portion, too. I'd like more choice in wine by the glass. Thank you for reversing a previously disappointing experience into a 5 star one. We all get things wrong form time to time, so being able to put them right is essential. Faith is restored and loyalty renewed.

Father's day dinner, chilli squid, sticky chicken and scallops as starters all very tasty. Roast dinners all well presented, needed the extra gravy though.

Sadly the food arrived stone cold cooked chicken but cold so had to wait for new food so ate alone as others had finished. Waited long time even drinks empty to be offered more....not what used to or expect from here

This has been a family 'go to' for many years, when we all meet up. It has been consistently good over the years but our lunch on Saturday was excellent indeed! The menu had a great choice and all of the courses (yes, we did have all 3!) were so tasty. We had a selection of crab meat on toast, fried squid and garlic mushrooms to start, followed by traditional fish n chips, steak & red wine pie and a wonderful pan fried sea bass on a lovely stack of fresh veg. Puddings were sticky toffee pud with ginger icecream and poached pear with coconut sorbet. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented and our server was Sian, who couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Our chef on the day was Brandon, who definitely gets a round of applause from us. It's a great place for families or couples, as there is plenty of space and there is the lovely seating area at the front - if the sun is out!

Lovely pub, brilliant waiting staff, a must visit if you only want a drink. Be selective if you want to eat. Had Pork Belly roast with bacon wrapped stuffing at over 18 pounds. The pork was a single piece of dried pork about the size of a small fish finger. No stuffing. The crackling was very good. Considering the overall experience, they really need to fix the kitchen and portions which really let's them and patrons down.

Lovely setting, the staff particularly Sian were excellent. I had the Liguine and it was as good as any Italian restaurant.

Difficult to read menu as writing so small and dining room very dark. Food ok but not great. And expensive for what it was. It didn't meet the hype or our expectations. Nice atmosphere for drinks though. Especially nice if sunny and beer garden full.
