Lovely traditional pub with friendly locals and bar team.

I’ve ordered plain corn on the cob from Pepe’s twice now, and both times my order was not fulfilled correctly. The first time, I received corn with sauce on it, even though I requested it plain. I decided to give them another chance and ordered again this time clearly leaving a customer note asking specifically for plain corn with no flavor or sauce. Unfortunately, they still delivered it with sauce. It’s frustrating when simple instructions are ignored, especially after giving a place a second chance. Attention to customer notes and order details is basic service, and Pepe’s missed the mark both times. Disappointing experience overall.

A proper local by the canal. Great location on the canal that feels tucked away from the busy roads over head. Good beer. Back games room for watching sport and playing pool

Pub recently taking over by an individual who leftt his Dog to rot to death in the back of his previous pub in The Railway Hotel Nantwitch. And the workers are in on it If you give these people your money you are supporting this and becoming a part of the problem! Absolutely vile. Poor pups

Very friendly pub, great service and great for watching sport.

We had Oreo milkshake and iced apple boba drink. Both were delicious and nice in hot weather. If you wanna buy a quick drink in this weather recommended with 5⭐️

I took a friend here for her birthday. The meal was pretty good, but the service was subpar. I would not go here again. There are better places with more flavorful food, and friendlier more attentive service: such as Anchalee in Berkeley or Nua in Oakland.

Quintessentially perfect! The afternoon tea was scrumptious; homemade cakes, scones, brownies, sandwiches, quiche along with fresh fruit, homemade chilli jam and coleslaw. I took my partner here for his birthday plus I also proposed to him. The staff were incredible. Nicki was wonderful. Thank you for all you did for us. XX

Came here for a Sunday roast while staying in the town for a weekend away. I’m pretty fussy with a Sunday Roast and can safely say this was up there with the best I’ve had! Beef was cooked to perfection, veg and sides were all delicious. Lovely Easter dessert for the kids. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating and there was a great selection of beer and wines. The pub itself was lovely and cosy with a very cute little courtyard at the back. We hope to return to Alcetser and will definitely be back to the Royal Oak!
