This is only my opinion Sunday roast with Brie starter. Starter was fabulous really good with the chilli . 4/5 Would have been lovely with some caramelised onion that would’ve made it a 5 out of 5 . The roast dinner looked great, good size portions and very nicely presented. Beef but texture was fibrous. It almost appeared to be tiny squares of meat strung together with sinue. I think this was “fake meat” made by bits stuck together and appeared to be netted with tiny squares of meat 🤢🤢 and it was cut to thickly. Cauliflower cheese was undercooked and lacked flavour could’ve done with some mustard and some cheese, roast potatoes were okay it would’ve been nice if they had been fluffed up even with a little bit of flour before adding to the hot oil. This means it would’ve been crispy rather than chewy and sharp edged. White pepper would’ve been nice on the table to have with some of the vegetables, The dinner lacked flavour/seasoning 2/5 staff were very nice very friendly and atmosphere was lovely.

Friday lunch with friends. First impressions…..it felt uninviting. The place was like an ice box as despite cold winter snap there was no heating. I would describe the place as a transport cafe rather than a restaurant. BYO but charge £3 per glass cover charge. Food was tasty. Service poor. Wouldn’t bother again.

Loved this place. Felt very excited about trying a few different cocktails. Could have stayed longer but we were going on a pub crawl. Great atmosphere and music. Felt like I was in a Kingsman movie. Try the pickle juice shot. Interesting......

Was recommended by a friend for the Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint. A friendly warm welcome and service and a banging roast. Dog friendly and our dog lay down in front of the log burner after our meal while enjoying another glass of wine. Staff couldn’t do enough and hats off to the chefs

We were finally able to use a luxury high tea voucher given to us for our 60th anniversary in January, postponed for health reasons. Wow!! Worth the wait, it was today 13th November 24, a perfect sunny day with fantastic views across the Bay. We were welcomed by super friendly member of staff. Inside, the cafe was very busy, however we were served almost immediately with coffee and a mini bottle of Prosecco each. Within 10/15 minutes we were presented with a cake stand each containing the most delicious selection of sandwiches, savouries and scone cream tea. We are locals and will definately be returning with family and or friends knowing they will enjoy the ambience and service we experienced.

This is a cracking place. Superb small plate dining - if you don't mind small plates. Places like this are very rare, unpretentious, knowledgeable staff, beautiful and comfortable interior design, excellent menu. One can walk through and choose wine from their wine shop and there's no corkage charge - what could be better. Very good selection of off-the-beaten-track wines. One of the most enjoyable lunches we've had anywhere.

A well frequented pub at the bottom of Brimscombe Hill. Modest sized car park for visitors, but a friendly welcome by the hosts. There is a convivial atmosphere inside whether you are visiting for just a drink or for food. The food menu is not very extensive, however the food is of exceptional quality. Friendly staff & worth a repeat visit if passing.
