The best restaurants in South West

Underwhelming experience for the Manor lunch outdoors. Extremely expensive, service was slow, food was even slower to come out and was very underwhelming for the cost. Beautiful grounds but you’re much better off skipping the meal and having a wander around the garden with a coffee instead.

The food was delicious and still hot, will definitely be ordering from here again.

A very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with the menu choices well above average. Fresh cooked and the wait was minimal. Excellent cocktails & choice of wines. Was very impressed that the owner/ manager came to speak to us at our table, we were only visiting for the weekend but will be sure to return next year

Celebrating my wife's birthday at the best seafood restaurant on the south coast, once again we were not disappointed, the pub was exceptionally busy, which is not unusual but we were shown to our reserved table which is always advisable as the pub/ restaurant is always busy, and enjoyed the most fabulous Sea Bass (wife) and Red Gurnard for myself. Staff always very attentive and polite, the Poole Arms is a definite must for seafood lovers wether you live locally or just visiting Poole and I promise you will not be disappointed, thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable evening.

We were really surprised with our experience here. There are so many good reviews, maybe we just caught them on an off day? I will say that the theme and overall atmosphere is neat. If you have little ones they will love the trains. But that’s the only positive thing I can say about them. We went on a Saturday at lunch. There were only a few tables occupied, so not busy at all. We were told to seat ourselves and had a hard time finding a clean table. The one we settled on ended up having crumbs in the seats and something sticky on the table. They did have a breakfast buffet available, but we each ordered burgers from the menu. And then we waited. And waited. The rest of the tables (3-4) were eating from the buffet, so I’m not sure why it would take over 30 minutes to get our order? When we finally received our food it was disappointing. 2 small, over done burgers. Really thick and about 2 inches in diameter. The fries were under done and not hot. They were literally white, like an uncooked potato. We also received onion rings that we didn’t order. Those weren’t hot either 😂 And then there was the overall cleanliness. There was a thick layer of dust on the window sills with dead gnats. Mold was around the outside of the ice chest. (we were sitting beside the drink and ice dispenser.) If the areas that customers can see is that dirty, what does the kitchen look like? Overall, not a good experience.

Fantastic experience here. Lovely friendly helpful staff, plenty of choice in food and drink, fast WiFi, plenty tables and chairs and a nice atmosphere.
