This is a lovely pub/restaurant specialising in beautiful fresh fish and seafood. The food was delicious and the prices affordable around ££80 for 2 for 3 courses with a couple of pints!! Really friendly proprietors. We were lucky and didn't need to book as it was a March weekday but would recommend booking other times of the year so you don't miss out.

Delicious food and lovely, friendly service. The best fish pie I have ever tasted. Would highly recommend especially for fish lovers. It was our first visit and we will definitely be returning very soon.

We have been going to the Poole Arms for many years, love the fish and seafood dishes not a huge menu but every dish is fantastic. We had king prawns in garlic and a fish soup

If you like fish and seafood this is a must whilst visiting Poole Quay. We had scallops,mussels and herring roe Will definitely be there soon. Beer good too.

Delicious seafood and lots of choice. Portions very big and don’t actually need to be that big. Very good value and obviously popular as full.

We decided to eat out rather unexpectedly and chose the pub because its kitchen was still open! The pub fitted us in and the staff were really welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and lively atmosphere made it a special end to our visit to Poole Quay!

I’ve always wanted to visit this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Service was excellent and we were graciously slotted in on Mothers Day. The sardines and garlic shrimp made a great starter, followed by smoked haddock fillet and haddock hot pot. Would highly recommend.

Only had time for a starter as limited on a coach trip schedule. Such pleasant staff & surroundings.My friend had the salt & pepper squid & I had the very delicious garlic king prawns which came with tasty crusty bread. Great for mopping up the juice!

My partner Liz & I had a lovely fish supper here last night, having just seen Maestro at The Lighthouse. The pub is located on the quay and despite being busy, has a pleasant quiet ambience. The staff are friendly and the food was superb and not too expensive. We shared a sprats starter. Liz had a fish pie (very hot) and I had the red gurnard special. We had a slice of the coffee & walnut cake. All the servings were generous. As a lover of fish, Liz says she could eat here every day! 🐟🐟🐟 I had a pint of Sign of Spring from the Stonehenge Brewery at Netheravon. Don't be put off by the lurid colour; it is a lovely balanced and soft bitter. I followed up with a half of the Great Bustard, an equally good (conventionally coloured) and slightly fruitier bitter. Their beers are well kept. Liz had a very pleasant large Spanish PG wine. We would love to return to this fine venue in the future.

Fantastic food, great waiting staff, fast service, quaint interior, extensive seafood menu, so many specials to choose from.

We are here twice both on our way to and from Devon. The fish was excellent. We tried a range of different dishes - oysters, sprats, sardines, sole and skate. I wish this place was nearer to us, we’d be here all the time! You must book.

Best sea food pub we've been to, and being from Cornwall we know a few . Great pub, great ales, great fish , great customer service.

Went in on the off-chance on a Monday evening and were delighted to have done so. Excellent fish dishes, charming staff, and very warm and friendly ambience.

Absolutely phenomenal. Mussels were the freshest I've ever had and not a single closed shell. Sardines were delicate and flavoursome Oysters were some of the best ive had. Without a doubt one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to. Plus their classic pub desserts are great with a generous serving of custard.

The standard menu is really good then add in the daily specials and you are spoiled for choice. The chowder was full of fish and flavour and the skate wing from the specials was fantastic. Service is great, attentive and friendly.

Amazing fresh seafood that won’t be beaten in Poole. We had rock oysters and scallops to start which were fantastic and great value for money the mains were superb and the beers were plentiful.

I've actually been in a couple of times in the last month because it's just so nice. Supposedly the oldest pub in Poole, it's well positioned on the Quay. Seafood is the speciality and it's going to take me a few more visits (well a lot more) to try everything. The Sea Bass really stands out though I was recommended the small-plate anchovies at my last visit, and as winter draws on the fish pie or haddock pot sound very warming. Service is decent and it's not unreasonably priced.

Two friends and I moored up at the quay for the night on our way to take the boat all the way up Poole Harbour to its overwintering boat yard at Wareham. Along the journey, lashing rain and strong winds meant we were in search of a warm, friendly pub with a good sea food menu. The Poole Arms delivered all three of our needs. The staff are excellent and the sea food choices mean we'll try and get back next year during the next sailing season.

This was our second visit to the Pool Arms and we wasn't disappointed. We had booked a table to be on the safe side as it gets very busy. Food again was delicious and the staff are lovely, will definitely be back.

Husband and I booked in for a late evening meal. We were drawn to booking her as they do LOTS of seafood dishes that we love! We enter and it was lovely and cosy and everyone was so friend and welcoming with lots of smiles. We ordered scallops to share for starters and Husband ordered gurnard fish with veg and new potatoes and I had smoked haddock on wilted spinach and poached egg with nee potatoes. Couldn’t fit any puddings in although we did look at the menu and they all looked superb especially the cheese and Biscuits. All were lovely and washed down with the best tasting larger Curious that we haven’t tasted in a long while. Atmosphere was lovely and traditional lovely little quaintness inside. Fell in love with the crab lamp. 🩷 Owners were lovely and friendly and we enjoyed chatting at the end of the night when we were the last customers in house lol When next in Poole we will definitely be returning to visit.

Another amazing meal at this fantastic pub. We shared smoked mackerel and anchovies to start then enjoyed seafood casserole and sea bass fillets. Visited on a Sunday lunchtime without having booked and although vey busy, they managed to find us a table. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food (sea bass and Cajun catfish) was delicious. Couldn’t fault a thing!

Essential pub experience. We arrived on a Monday night without a reservation and no tables left to have dinner at but were given a spot at the bar. The starters, mains and deserts were nothing short of absolutely brilliant, staff and owner were super friendly, a fantastic night out.

My husband and I are local and walk past the Poole Arms at least twice a week for nearly 10 years but have never been in, shockingly, until now! We hadn’t booked but were lucky enough to get the last table inside which wasn’t reserved. We were served by Rachel and ordered 6 Poole Bay Rock Oysters - really tasty, decent sized oysters served with tobasco and lemon wedges, would have been nice to have something like horseradish or diced onions to go with it, followed by a Cheddar, Ham & Stilton Ploughman’s each - really tasty good quality produce with very large chunks of cheese and lots of ham, this could have done with a bit more bread to use with all the cheese but other than that was great. The food took a while to arrive but we overheard that the kitchen was short staffed. We will be back soon for dinner, but will book ahead of time to avoid missing a table!

The service was attentive friendliness from the moment we entered we ordered the oysters... first class, the crab salad was very nice, the sea food casserole was excelenf with the full flavors of the fish. Lovely bottle of proseco. Will come again with friends. Definitely I recommend this place.
