Loco Mexicano in North Somerset

Oddly High reviews for a diabolically ass restaurant. I cannot speak enough to the abhorrent quality of the obviously microwaved food. Staff frankly odd and offputting. Saving grace was the cocktails, should have asked what brand of premix they were.

Very Mexican inside with wonderful objects such as cowboy hats and painted cactuses on the wall to make it feel like your in Mexico, staff were very kind, wasn’t that busy! Went on holiday for the week and while we were here we visited this restaurant 2 times. The food was so delicious and you wouldn’t leave feeling hungry with the large portions, we ordered and the food came out around 15-20 mins after ordering so we was very happy!

Visited with my son and husband today 9 April 2025. I must admit I was a bit worried as I haven't eaten Mexican food before. I needn't have worried I can honestly say it was one of the very best veggie meals I have ever had. I had Veg Burrito can't wait to come back.

We have recently moved to weston and had never been here before, so we were looking forward to trying this place out. When we arrived, the place was pretty empty, maybe 5-6 tables with people. The lady at the front sat us down, and then we were pretty much forgotten. For about 15 minutes, we tried to catch people's attention to order food and drink, but everyone seemed to have their tables they were seeing to. I said to my partner, "Maybe it was a restaurant where you ordered at the bar?". We didn't know. We said we would leave it another 5 and then maybe leave... I'm glad we didn't!! A different lady approached and took our order without writing anything down and had to ask us a second time what we wanted. She remembered everything apart from that we wanted bottles and not pints of coke. Fine, no bother, really. Coke is coke. When the food and drinks came out, wow!! Great food, great portions. Burrito needed some more seasoning and spice though. Lots to choose from, and even our picky kids tried something out of their normal and loved it! Yay!. The lady came back to take our kids' ice cream order, and the young man took our plates and even wiped the tables down. The ice cream order wasn't exactly correct either (again, taken from memory), but the kids didn't care. Maybe our cardiff accent came across funny. I'm not sure? The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was great too. Loved the artwork and overall vibe of the place. We will definitely be coming back!

Yeah really nice Mexican food, price a little on the upside but it’s nice food.

Me and my partner went for lunch on Thursday 20th march.great service from the young Romanian waitress. Great food and great atmosphere . Well be returning very soon. 10/10.

It is one of my favourite places, in Weston-super-Mare, especially when you're lucky and have a lovely sunshine day. The food is so good. I recommend yo share the rib option. The team is very friendly. The atmosphere is lovely.

Being far away from home, I stumbled across an amazing restaurant while exploring Weston. The tacos were a hit and so were the margaritas. The team at the restaurant was kind and welcoming adding a sense of home away from home with a great vibe. My fellow South Africans, if you looking for a spot that balances leker food and a vibe very well, this is it. Highly recommend and will certainly be back!

A gem in Weston. Brilliant food, good prices, fantastic salsa music in the background and a suitable fuss made for people's birthdays (plus sombrero!). Such an enjoyable experience - friendly staff too. Can't wait to come back!

Nice atmosphere, great service, amazing food!!! We arrived without booking, and the waiter did her best to arrange to find a table. 5 min later we were installed and had a great meal. My top first restaurant here in Somerset! Mojitos are fantastic

What a shame booked a weekend away as my husband wanted to come here to eat ended up taking our food home as we were told it would be 50 minutes before our mains would be ready not a problem so we had our starter's and to our dismay our mains turned up when we were still eating our starter's waiter told us he could take them away but they were just going to be kept warm so we just got them to box it up .We were gave a free tequila and 2 hats which we were asked to give back when I tried to walk out the door. Like I said what a shame it ruined our experience.

It was a nice beach side Mexican restaurant in weston-super-mare.. Went there for lunch and all of the dishes we took were pretty good. There are quite a few chicken dishes which are not a common thing in UK restaurants anymore.. Chicken enchiladas are pretty good and surprising the vegetable enchiladas too.. The mocktails are sweeter side and tastes well.... I liked it much more because beach side restaurant experience for me wasn't great befor this one..

It's ok at best. The ambiance was nice, especially if you have a bigger table, but the staff seemed tired and without any desire to be there. It's clean and there's plenty of space. The food is mediocre. There are many options, some better priced, some way too expensive (£18 for fajitas!). The portion size was ok for the price, although a little on the small side. The dishes are very greasy, there's no spice at all, and the taste is a very generic chicken and meat, not anything memorable. It was, however, well cooked and not dry or tough. The selection of beers was very small. I don't think I'll be back soon, but I've been to worse restaurants, especiall Mexican restaurants.

This score does not reflect the staff, they did a cracking job. I absolutely love a Mexican! So I was pretty excited we made a spontaneous visit. I had a chicken burrito and it was so, so bland. It didn't taste of anything. The chicken had no seasoning, the beans were bland and so was the rice. There was no spices, seasoning, colour. It lacked Corriander, paprika, cumin / everything you would expect a burrito to taste and look like. Incredibly disappointed and didn't reflect the price of £16.95. Pretty steep for a burrito that tasted of nothing but tomatos.

I think it’s a joke experience in this place no wonder the place is empty I am Mexican and the food or attitude of the staff is far from Mexican hospitality not sure why you want to go there ????

If I could give this awful restaurant a zero star rating I would. The worst service I have ever received apart from the lovely waitresses, who went above and beyond. Food diabolical... Avoid like the plague.

Always a fun and friendly atmosphere at Loco Mexicano. I always get a jug of frozen margaritas and a plate of buffalo wings no matter what I'm having as they're both firm favourites. I'd thoroughly recommend the pan fried prawns and the mixed fajitas. I have never successfully made it through a meal with enough space for dessert but the churros look amazing. The kids menu is great and not the standard stuff, comes with a drink and an icecream. The staff are fantastic and swift.

I love this place! I wasnt expecting it to be authentic Mexican food either. My husbrand ordered Chili and I got Steak and Chicken Fajita and its the best thing I ever tasted! I will order just chicken next time, because it was super flavourful and tender, honestly its a real gem! also its dog friendly too! :D

Warm welcome, friendly staff, pet friendly. Two of us had quesadilla's each and nachos to share, couldn't finish it. All tasted lovely and was very filling

Visited this restaurant and the staff were so welcoming and service was absolutely amazing, mentioned my Husbands Birthday, and staff made it so special with a candle on the Cheesecake and singing, and the food was so delicious, had a wonderful evening, we look forward to visiting again. 100% value for money and you will leave there feeling very Happy, you must visit it soon.

Bad quality rushed food. Hair in beef bowl Quesadilla had nothing at all inside was just warm tortilla bread. Won't ever eat from here again 🤯 Order arrived in a ripped open bag everything was just awful.. never again

Late lunch for two, we ordered A LOT of small plates not expecting the portions to be so generous. Margaritas were also delicious. Would come back again.

Me and my friend both had fajitas on his recommendation; I had the chicken fajitas and he had the chicken, steak and prawn mix fajita, and I also ordered an extra tortilla for safety measure and my god!? The portions were so so generous, everything spiced to perfection, authentic Mexican flavour, and generous helpings of all the extras; guacamole, sour cream, cheese, jalapeños and pico de gallo. Fantastic atmosphere with great Mexicana music, very busy with customers even for a Wednesday and the service was faultless! One of the best Mexican meals I’ve had! Thank you!

Came here twice whilst on holiday. The service was brilliant, the food was delicious couldn't fault it, nice and hot and good portions and atmosphere was lovely, felt like we were abroad. Would definitely recommend it.

My family (2 adults, 2 children) on a whim decided to have a Mexican meal for lunch on a rainy Thursday afternoon. Our eldest son is on the autistic spectrum and can quite easily become overwhelmed. The staff were really accommodating and gave us a quiet table away from a large group. The food was delicious, arrived really quickly and was well priced. The after food coffee was also delicious. I can't recommend this place enough and will definitely return next time we are in weston

Nice food. Pricey for what it is but it’s good food nonetheless. There were dogs in the restaurant which is off putting - a star taken away for that. Would recommend this place.

Went there for pre theatre dinner with my 9yo daughter. The decor is fun and vibrant. The non alcoholic cocktails were scrummy, the beer was cold, the food came out really fast and delicious. The service was amazing the only very small down side was me I didn't bring any cash to tip and they don't take tips on card which made me feel really guilty but I promise I will be back very soon because we had such a nice time and great value for money.

Love the food from here, usually, the salad looked like it had been in the heat for days, brown lettuce, did not eat it. The rest of the food was ok, not as nice as usual.

Amazing food and huge portions, very extensive menu so can satisfy any mexican cravings. It's right on the beach front and easy to find.

BUT THE VISIT WAS COMPLETELY RUINED BY THE FACT THAT people had a dog AT ONE OF THE DINING TABLES, (I MEAN RIGHT AT THE TABLE TOP) and THE staff APPARENTLY thought that this was just fine!!! WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH DOG OWNERS, AND RESTAURANTERS, DON'T THEY KNOW THAT FILTHY DOG TONGUES AND BUMS SHOULD NEVER BE ANYWHERE NEAR A DINING AREA, LET ALONE A TABLE! OR EVEN IN THE BUILDING! so that was all a bit disgusting, and so we won't be dining here again...I mean God only knows what's been at the table top or sat on your upholstered chair! EUCH

This is our favourite stop off on the way to Devon. Staff were really welcoming to our toddler and food is great as well as being well priced. Plenty of vegetarian options that were tasty

Best meal and atmosphere I've experienced in a while the food was great and the amount of meat you get will get me going back for more. Staff were on the ball and we had a 2 course meal including, cocktails and soft drinks within 30 minutes. (We are quick eaters and we could have stayed longer but never have I experienced service so well executed) Perfect!

Best spot for Mexican food around, the amount of meat you get is next level and the prices are good. The most impressive thing was the service and how rapid and on the ball all the staff were. Will be returning

We had lunch at Loco Mexicano today. We received a warm welcome from the manager Murat. We ordered Spicy buffalo wings and Pulled pork tacos as starters and Steak fajitas and Shredded chicken enchiladas as main courses from the lunch menu deal. Steak fajitas was served on sizzling platter with grilled sweet peppers and onions with 3 tortillas. Two chicken enchiladas were smothered in lots of cheese with a side dish of corn tomato rice. There was a customary accompaniment of green salad, tomatoes onion salsa, guacamole and sour cream. All the food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. Service from a smiley Alex was top class. This was our second visit to Loco Mexicano after a long time and it certainly did not disappoint. £12.95 for two courses lunch menu is an absolute bargain for this quality of food. Highly recommended.

Excellent food - very tasty and generous portions. Perfect amount of sauces on the side. Only thing to suggest for restaurant is they automatically provided disposable cutlery which was a waste for us as we used our own. Should be an opt-in to avoid being wasteful. :)
