Antonio's in North Somerset

We’ve used Antonio’s for years, the food and service is fantastic, such good value for the price. There are not many places like this around anymore - thoroughly recommend!

That was a true surprise. Without doubt the food was within the best Italian food I have had so far. The pizza was huge, crunchy and generously filled that brought me back to Italy. Honestly speaking there is no comparison with the other Italian chain restaurants.

Would definitely recommend. Picked up a huge (17 inches to be precise!) pizza Friday night....ham and pineapple and extra cheese, fries and garlic pizza bread. £25 in total. Too much food for 2 people. Really enjoyed it and would go back but would stick to pizza only. Had to heat chips in air fryer....not a problem though. Only a star for atmosphere as takeaway only now

Visited here on way to see family in the south west. Omg! What a gem of a place! Can’t wait to try them again over the Christmas break. Delicious authentic tasting pizza and a lovely vibe, even just for takeaway customers!

Pizza was an oil swamp, real shame, was massive but wasn't cut, dough was chewy and the meat tasteless... And for a pizza and garlic bread - £22 , service was fast and pizzas hot but that's about it

Antonio's is a gem of Portishead. For a long time I fell out of love with pizza after I went to Italy as it was so incredible there. I did not think a humble restaurant in Portishead would fully reignite my love for it. For the quality, freshness, taste and size of what you get here, after trying it, it's madness to me that anyone would go to dominos instead! Antonio's is a family run business and it's authentic. It's now a takeaway but the quality has remained 😊

Owner was very friendly. And most importantly the pizza was great, traditional crispy base, and full of flavour. Great value for money. Would Highly recommend.

The pizza Is delicious and the pasta dishes too

Just ordered the lasagna for the first time since they changed the concept of the restaurant from walk in to only take away. Absolutely delicious; home made taste with amazing tomate sauce for instance. Well done folks, keep it up!

Had the Pasta Contandina & Pasta Al Forno tonight and WOW. They were absolutely incredible!

Food wasn't up to standard tonight- garlic mushrooms turned out to be breaded mushrooms with no garlic, pizza was somewhat undercooked. The free garlic oil I ordered was also not included. Salad leaves with starters is a nice touch but perhaps some dressing wouldn't go amiss. Given this is takeaway only now, there's no restaurant ambience to throw into the overall experience, so the food quality and finer details need improving.

Been there a few times. Didn’t realise how many there are. I love the choice on the menu. Love the decor and the ambience whether I’m taken someone there for a meal or on my own.

Lovely meal. Travelled to Portishead to collect some tents for a Scout Troop and decided to eat here. Antonio and his family were lovely, friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent.

Food was unreal, we got the pizza, it was big, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Inside is authentic Italian decor. Would 100% recommend.

We ordered takeaway, pizza and lasagne. We were genuinely blown away - incredible food. The lasagne had lots of cheese and meat, and the pasta was cooked perfect. The pizza Vesuvio was excellent.

Best pizza spot in portishead masssive pizzas

Absolute best pizza in Portishead, fact, no competition at all. Lovely atmosphere dining in, staff are amazing. Owner needs to embrace the card machine a little more, my only minor critique - but I will say they let me use it on my last visit. If you live in Portishead and haven't been here, even just for a take out pizza, you're nuts, do it as soon as possible.

A lovely Italian restaurant, just a shame about the traffic. On my visit I did find that the door to the mens' toilets were blocked when a cupboard door would open with any breeze.

Just what we needed: A relaxed family run place, with good food at good prices. It family were made very welcome and we had a lovely meal.

Owners were overheard arguing on arrival. Table cloth was dirty. Whitebait to start was slightly bland with no lemon and a seemingly old salad. Now saying all of this it only went up from here, mains were delicious. Service from Antonio was perfect with good attendance and nice conversation. Drinks were tasty and served promptly.

This is by far the best Italian I’ve been to. It has an authentic Italian feel to the restaurant as well as being incredibly welcoming to all. Portion sizes are the best, making them such great value. I’ve tried most things on this menu and I’ve not been disappointed, really flavourful food that’s true to Italy.

Antonio’s pizzas deserve to be the definition of the word exceptional. I recommend specifically ordering a takeaway, because you’ll be in for two surprises: the first will be finding the most beautiful pizza this side of Italy and the second will be the size of the pizza itself (you’ll always have left over pizza for breakfast which still somehow tastes delicious), couldn’t rate Antonio’s pizza higher. Antonio himself is lovely, as is his wife Maria too and they always welcome warmly.

First time having food from this restaurant. Ordered 2 pizzas for take out and my goodness, they were easily among the best pizzas i ever had. High quality dough with generous and delicious toppings. Popping in for the collection was also a pleasure, planning to eat in next to really enjoy the atmosphere

Small friendly restaurant. Pizza was good (enormous). Walking distance of Premier Inn. Not a huge menu but adequate.

Charming, traditional, friendly, totally delicious. Exactly what we fancied, we came away stuffed and very happy indeed. Just like a little trip to Italy on an otherwise usual Tuesday night.

Don't waste your time. Very unfriendly, food wasn't all that (I'm half Italian, I know Italian food). Ambience is non-existent. Bottelino's is better and it's a 5 minute walk away, on the marina.

This is a classic Italian restaurant that you would find across Italy. Clean, tidy and a family run business. The owner and son do the cooking and Maria his wife looks after front of house. The food is all fresh tasty and authentic and there is plenty of it.( The pizzas are very large).

Recently moved to area and decided to try as feel it is important to support local businesses. This was a Friday evening and we arrived at the restaurant at 20.30 (not pre-booked) opening hours 17.30 to 22.30. We were seated and then made to feel very unwelcome by the owner when he came out to our table and angrily announced to the server that this is his last table! No more! Had we not been with friends we would have got up and walked out at that point and I wish I had. Food was average, atmosphere was awkward and uninviting, the female over informed us on clearing the table it was to much for them at their age and then the male owner complained when he took our payment that we had not left them a tip! There are plenty of more welcoming eateries in the area, eating out is a treat and the way we were treated and made to feel is disgusting. On that basis we will never visit again.

A meal for 3. I was made aware of the specials board by the lady who welcomed us. I noticed a very u Italian dish right at the bottom of the board. It's a great favourite at home so I chose it. The liver was lambs and it came with fries and a small portion of vegetables plus gravy. The liver was a generous portion and I wondered if I'd get through it all. I did and it was good. My only nit, I would have liked more onions in the gravy, but this is a personal choice. Good meal and a bottle of red to share. Yes I came away full and content

When we moved to portishead, we were using the Dominos to get our pizzas and saw lots of people with boxes from Antonio's so thought we had to try it out! I was so pleased to see a seafood pizza on the menu and am even happier to say it tastes AMAZING

Nice couple but dated venue lacking atmosphere. Food was very average. Everything that was not pasta was burnt and not in a charred, rustic way. In a black all over the bottom kind of way. Meat in pasta did not taste fresh Cheese a curious flavour Have lived in Naples so I do have some understanding of pizza to know this was not right. Everything needed an injection of passion and love from the decor to the sauces. I am sure it can be achieved and the owners will of had a rotten year so I felt awful complaining but this really was overpriced for what was received. I will say that under the burn the pizza, you could tell had once been actually pretty tasty.

Brilliant! Traditional Italian food set in a warm, very friendly and rustic setting. Our Grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the football banter with the owner Antonio Will definitely return again!!!

We have eaten here and had takeaways many times over the last few years and have always had a great experience. We normally opt for a pizza and have never been disappointed, the portions are very generous. We have tastier pizzas here than we did in Rome!

Got 2 pizzas tonight and they're delicious. Really big pizzas made with care, the staff were lovely despite having to deal with a moaning customer. Can't wait to go back!

Always amazing, great fresh food and good value

We have had takeaway pizzas during lockdown and they are always good quality and very large so enough for two meals. Real Italian cooking makes a difference.

Proper little Italian. You'd be forgiven for forgetting your not in Italy after some meals there. Fortunately you're walking out to one end of the high street of Portishead so still can feel like a little holiday.

We have lived in the area for 13 years and have driven past this place at least once a week but never been there. We went as a small group and we were impressed by everything. The pizzas were great, the puddings were special and overall the meal was a very enjoyable. Would recommend. My son gas been telling everyone about it as he loved it so much.

Travelled in August and had a great evening meal here with my family. Large portions of tasty food, with delightful owner sharing his Sicilian tales. My 12 year old was not taken by the 'country' and homely feel of this place (preferring the more modern style of chain restaurants) but my husband and I loved it! Definitely recommend.

We ordered all vegetarian food as we don’t eat meat but to our horror there was slices of ham in our pasta dishes. The owner initially said “it’s mushroom”, it was clearly ham. This could be excused if they were busy and a mistake was made, but we were the only customers in the restaurant on a Friday night. A bitterly disappointing experience all round and little to no apology from the owner. This situation could have been much worse if one of us had an allergy.

Why buy a small, expensive pizza elsewhere when you can get a tasty 16" for £13! Great value, consistently good pizza.

Foods terrible, sloppy pizza with absolutely no taste

Spaced out tables to ensure safety worked out very well. Exceptionally good food and service. Children’s menu very good and varied. They have obviously had tough times during lockdown and loyal customers should support this family business.

Food was ok given post Covid-19.... and wanted to support local business....though we hadn’t gone back in 10 years... simply busy... Pizza bases were excellent but tomato sauce very plain no herbs or garlic... toppings were good but lack of flavour of herbs, garlic.. even chillis were tasteless. Side salad overdressed in vinegarette ...without being told it was a dressed salad. Lovely people but simply for me lack of atmosphere, taste and quality of freshness is expected..

The pizza is absolutely amazing, authentic Italian food. The lasagne was superb, had bruscetta starter as well as the prawn and avocado starter and both we great. Cannot fault it, owner is super friendly and very well known in the community. Would definitely go back! 100% 5 stars

Collected two amazing pizzas during lockdown, and they were SO nice! So huge we had some for lunch the next day. The best pizzas in Portishead by a long way, lovely people too!

Should be in Spain but now on staycation, so doing takeaway evening meals and had pizza from Antonio last night.Wow! Una bella pizza enorme! Ordered 2 pizzas, they were beautiful, served bang on time piping hot from the oven. BTW 2 pizzas are way too big for 2 people! Last minute decision to grab dinner with a work colleague and I’m so pleased we came into Antonio’s. House white was fine, delicious main courses and very generous portions. I won’t leave it so long between visits next time.

Fantastic! The family are always lovely to see and I don't see any other Italian Restaurant in the same class as this one... simply the best!

The pasta and pizzas are good, but the choice of starters needs a rethink - I mean who has prawn cocktail and melon these days! :)A home made minestrone soup or fresh bruschetta would be great additions to the tired menu. The house red is awful, again this could easily be sorted. Antonios is a friendly traditional family-run place, which seems to have a loyal following of regulars, but a couple of small changes would make a big difference to attract new customers.

When u go to for a pizza and want anchovies you always doubt weather they've got them I love um But they will only keep in the raw 8 of us went to Antonio's last night all had pizzas I was the only one to have anchovies and the only one to get ill from 2.30 on the toilet he served bad fish you can't hold them for more than 3days I suffered? Next time someone feeds me that I'm going to s it outside there door
