Il Michelangelo in North Somerset

One of those where everything is excellent. Their prices demand quality and that is what you get. Four of us dined for just under GBP200 and the lamb shank, liver and beef stroganoff were cooked to perfection with accompanying sauces. We shared the starters of bruschetta and mushrooms accompanied by cocktails and beers. The mains were so filling we could not view the dessert menu. Great atmosphere and view out to sea. All servers were Italian and very attentive.

Whenever we have visitors they always want to eat here. Great service, atmosphere and good food.

This was our first visit, on mother’s day. As expected the restaurant was very busy and loud however the service was still very fast and got quieter as the evening went on. The food was good, however pasta portions were fairly small compared to other restaurants. Most staff were lovely and kind, although a few were slightly abrupt and short however this is likely due to the business of the restaurant. Our bill was around £200 for 6 of us, this was mains, a few desserts and some alcoholic drinks, so on the expensive side but overall ok! We will be returning! Could do with some sound proofing (plants or soft furnishings to absorb some noise) Parking not the easiest though

Have to say just left this place. OMG the food and service was second to none. The restaurant itself overlooks the sea. This restaurant wouldn’t look out of place in Marbella. It’s decorated to the highest spec. The sun was in my eyes,no problem they lower blinds. The front also has windows that electronically move up and down. Both me and my brother had one of the specials as starters which was a grilled sardines over bread with salad. This was excellent. For mains I had the steak with chips and peppercorn sauce. This has to be the best peppercorn sauce I’ve had. The peppercorn was nice and soft with full of flavour and creamy. My brother had the pasta with salmon which had big chunks of salmon done in a creamy vodka sauce. The staff was very attentive and very smart with black and white with ties and professional. I can see why they have so many good reviews

We visited for Mother's day. There was a warm greeting and a table was arranged quick, although we were early. The service was polite and good. Food was great - my only slight disappointment were the calamaris. These could have been better - they were too chewy. Everything else was excellent 👍 The atmosphere seemed nice - there was a very nice live music but we couldn't enjoy exactly the music and the ambient due to a very noisy group/family next table. I think next time I would like to visit when no special day or busy time. Overall we were all happy with the food and the service!

This is as good as it gets. Finest Italian food, ambience and service I know of. They have recently extended their pizza offerings to accommodate me as a vegan and it is, of course, delicious.

My wife and I were having a short break in the area and we called in for lunch as we're celebrating our 47th.wedding anniversary . We hadn't booked a table but that wasn't a problem. Reception and service was excellent . The food was superb and not over expensive. Would visit again without any hesitation but we are now back home in Derby , 3 + hour drive away so we will have to wait for our next visit to the area.

El Michelangelo truly offers the best dining experience in the area! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome, always attentive and reassuring. The food quality was absolutely top-notch—every dish exceeded expectations. I took a chance on the fillet steak, something I usually hesitate to order unless I’m at a dedicated steakhouse, but it was cooked to perfection. The pizza calzone and spaghetti were just as incredible, full of rich flavors and authentic Italian taste. The biggest surprise? It was the first time my son finished his entire plate—a true testament to how good the food is! Highly recommend El Michelangelo for anyone looking for outstanding food and impeccable service. Will definitely be back!

Good Italian food. We tried to eat like Italians having primero and secundi courses and left very full. Our waiter Alonso was great, very friendly and he was happy to work with my pigeon Italian. The fresca's added to the ambiance

Worst steaks ever. Told the waiter who promised to tell the chef. Waiter said nothing and cleared the plates and evidence so I involved the manager to say that there may be a supplier issue and steaks need a quality assessment. Got a free dessert but really should have had the steak meals for free.

Came for Valentines night. The restaurant was beautifully decorated to add special touch. The set price Valentines menu was well thought out with a good variety of dishes to choose from. Good value for money for Valentines night when some restaurants might take advantage to charge a premuim. Excellent presentation of food which was tasty and generous in size. The service was excellent even though they were extremely busy. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable with recommendations.

Always a pleasure when we come here it’s not often but the Staff always treat us with such respect and kindness. Always attentive, polite, and patient. We came to celebrate my dads birthday we was a group of 16 adults plus children and they know exactly how to welcome us, even though it’s a bit pricy but for an Italian restaurant with good quality, and atmosphere you can expect that and it’s definitely worth it. Thankyou to Michelangelo Staff and of course the amazing Leo!

Great place and great food but noisy.

Me and my boyfriend arrived last Saturday for dinner without booking, the restaurant was super busy and a gentlemen indicated the bar until get a table for us. The cocktails were delicious. I felt impressed with amount of day dishes described by the waiter. We followed the suggestion and got the scallops, it was delicious! Actually everything was delicious, the risotto, the seafood tagliatelle, the dessert, coffees and wine. Unfortunately we don’t live nearby to come back otherwise I would be a frequent client! Thanks for the amazing food and excellent service.

Consistently good food, excellent service, great for celebrations. We love visiting this place in both Summer and Winter.

Visited here yesterday (15.01) for my husbands 30th birthday. The food was incredible. The best Italian food we have had! The risotto was cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional. The waiters when bringing out dessert even sang happy birthday. Small things that make this place sensational. We're already planning on returning for the next birthday!

The very tall imposing waiter simply will not stop a robotic monologue about the menu, even when you try to tell him you already know what you want to order. He towers over the table and talks down to you with some misguided idea that his insistent monologue is a kind of service. It's uncomfortable. he won't go away. Even when food arrives, he hangs around looming over you and trying to chip in to conversation, and asking banal questions...you think; GO AWAY PLEASE! Food was standard but when we got the bill we were charged for a pint of beer we never had, a side dish we never had, and another spurious item neither of us recognised! I wouldn't recommend it at all, I found the whole event really annoying..the waiters performance even more than them attempting to overcharge us.

An incredible meal, this was for a 60th wedding anniversary celebration. Really inviting on arrival, run by a strong team of staff who understand passion and care for what they have, a professional experience throughout. Food was incredible, food options clearly labeled. Service throughout was impeccable, not too much, not too little.

Fantastic family meal for Grandma's birthday, the food was sensational and the staff were very friendly.

Christmas eve was magical, thanks to everyone in tonight. food was absolutely amazing, everyone was so friendly and funny, had a slight situation with the ladies bathroom but it was dealt with promptly which was amazing, would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about coming

Wife & I took my youngest stepson for his 19th. Fantastic food, really couldn't fault it at all. Service, as always, was impeccable. My wife & I have eaten here numerous times, and I can honestly say I've never ever had anything other than exceptional food & service. IMHO, one of the best restaurants in Weston.

Not impressed with our first meal at this restaurant. First impressions were good, nicely decorated and interesting views from the conservatory. Service was friendly and efficient however the quality of the food was poor . The mussels and cockles with the sea bass were overcooked to the point of being in -edible , The sea bass and accompanying vegetables were ok. The other dish we had was on the specials menu, a platter of grilled fish. This fish was very overcooked dry with burnt skin and the king prawns were cooked to death. The desserts of cheesecake and profiteroles were good. 2 courses each ,plus two glasses of house wine and a orange juice and our bill came to over £90 . I'm afraid we won't be going again.

Excellent meal. Very good indeed. Service started well but tailed off once coffee orders were wrong. Then took a while to settle up.

😎 Loved this place. We had a family get-together, booked in advance at 18.00hrs.. Staff were attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients . The food was exquisite and perfect... the menu is extensive, very affordable, highly highly recommended. I would advise booking in advance as even at 18.00hrs the restraunt was very busy and was full with a queue waiting by 20.00hrs.. A wonderful experience.. thank you.... 😎

Another fabulous evening with friends and family at Michelangelo. From the moment you walk in you are looked after by brilliant and friendly staff, it’s always so busy but you’re never left waiting. The meal was delicious, our favourite restaurant in Weston.

Absolutely excellent service, delicious food. Cannot recommend enough. We’ve just had our second annual family get together here and it was excellent. Very accommodating and great service for 20+ people!

The food was good. We went for a light supper. We had pasta dishes with different fillings / sauces, with soft drinks & coffee We weren't impressed at being addressed as 'girls' by male wait staff. When one is 50 / 60+, 'ladies' is more appropriate, at a good restaurant. I'd heard great things about both the food and service and had been meaning to try it for a while. Sadly, this was a disappointing experience, for me.

Refused to turn the heating down when I was seated right next to a radiator on full blast during a busy Saturday night. Ruined my entire evening with my family as I couldn't enjoy the meal due to the excessive heat.

We ended up visiting this restaurant 3 times during our short stay at Weston over the October half term. The food and drinks are very good and the view from the restaurant is excellent. However, what was outstanding about this restaurant was the service rendered by everyone. The staff make you feel at home and really look after the guests . The warmth was palpable every time we went there. Highly recommended. Try the Tiramisu.

Lovely little farm shop cafe attached to the main pub. Perfect for a light bite, cake, coffee and snacks. Lovely food. Had breakfast and it was fab. Always pleasant staff and always a decent visit.

I ordered the Ravioli and a garlic bread for delivery. The food arrived quickly. I was quite shocked when I saw the Ravioli, only 4 pieces! Half a meal, not even that really, lucky I ordered the bread as that was more filling. Would not order the Ravioli again as i felt ripped off.

This place is usually amazing foods always great service is usually spot on usually have no issues However last night we had a few issues which is very disappointing considering; service started out as great the starters were good… however when it came to the mains… wasn’t great the carbonara was very greasy which it isn’t usually greasy and the waitress tried to blame the cheese when it was only this time it was greasy and never before… when asked for Parmesan I said no as I do not like it but it was put on my dish anyway and I had to say again that I didn’t want any… then they didn’t offer to take it away and remake it he seemed very reluctant to try and fix his mistake which resulted in me not eating it but still having to pay for it. By the end of the evening it seemed like we were not wanted there anymore because we had mentioned these issues and it became a-bit like we were a nuisance. This may have been a one off night and it was just a bad day for everyone so this won’t dissuade us from returning as this is usually such a great place to eat and staff are genuinely friendly.

We've been here a few times in the past few years and always enjoyed it very much (please see earlier reviews). However, last night , a Friday, to say we're disappointed would be an understatement. We booked well in advance and asked for a quiet table...yes, I know it was a Friday night, but the noise level when we entered was astonishing with three large parties of upwards of 24 people each in them, and clearly copious amounts of alcohol were being consumed by all concerned. There were several couples like us who appeared to have expected something different. The noise level made it impossible to have a conversation between two people across a table. Our table was not ready and it was suggested we have a drink at the bar whilst waiting. Unfortunately, the bar now has no seating area and we were soon joined by another large group drinking there. We received no complementary drinks in lieu of the delay. The maitre d' was trying his best to take care of all his customers but he was up against uncontrollable odds and his staff looked frazzled. We ate starters and mains which were served cool and declined desserts so we could regain our hearing in the quiet of the sea front outside. A very disappointing experience which will take us elsewhere for dinner.

A last minute decision to visit. Even though they were sorting out things for a wedding and busy, service and food exceptional as always. Definitely recommended.

We had our wedding reception here and it was perfect. All 40 guests were sat in the conservatory. We had such a lovely day! Food was delicious, service very good and the decorations were beautiful! Thank you so much, we cannot wait to return for our anniversary dinner ☺️

Our early Autumn Saturday evening dinner service was understandably busy at this popular seaside destination, but staff coped admirably. Didn't take long after being seated for us to be "taken into the system", with orders taken for drinks and food, all of which arrived in timely fashion, for us and adjoining tables - organisation faultless. More to the point, starters and mains were exceptional, recommend the fungi in a garlic sauce on filo pastry & then spaghetti carbonara. (Larger portions than I'm used to but nothing wasted.) Clearly popular with locals, where regular diners and staff have a great rapport. Excellent value for money and would certainly make a return visit when next in area, although my last one was 60+ years ago. Good access all areas.

Birthday lunch for 7 adults, a three year old and a baby. The team were excellent in their attentiveness, couldnt have done any more. Food was first class.

Fantastic Restaurant where the staff make you feel special. The food is first class as is the ambience. Even better we were lucky enough to be there when they had live flamenco. This Restaurant gives one of the best dining experiences in the whole county. Prices are just marginally above the average but well worth it. All round Michelangelo is a Ten out of Ten dining experience.

Visited for the first time last weekend. Party of 16 to celebrate a family members 60th - apart from the excessive noise (which is very understandable on a Saturday night with 3-4 large parties going on) the experience all round was incredible! For the busy period, the courses and drinks came out at the perfect time (not too short between meals or long waits) the food was impeccable - hot, fresh, full of flavour and the perfect amount, and the service from the staff was faultless. Credit to the staff for maintaining a high level of service during its busiest times and their cheery smiles (and singing lol) adds to the dining experience. Although a little pricey, the money is worth spending for the taste of the food and all round experience. 100% dining here again! If you live in Weston or are visiting, I would recommend at least 1 visit in your lifetime x

Our experience here was not quite what we expected. For a high end restaurant I expected the service to be a bit more prompt. The waiters were not forthcoming and seemed a little snooty / inattentive. We had to prompt them whenever we needed anything. Husbands food was not good, he left his main as it was too chewy. Not sure I would visit here again.

Visited 8/9/2024. Was our tenth wedding anniversary. The service, food and the restaurant did not dissapoint! Fantastic service, food and drinks were amazing! Thank you guys you made our anniversary so special and we will be back the next time we're in Weston-super-Mare!

I was with friends for dinner, I was lucky enough to witness a beautiful wedding, the restaurant was full, but this did not affect the service, the food was delicious, I even took it with me because I couldn’t eat everything at once. It really wouldn't hurt to refresh or somehow change the interior, it looks a little tired. but overall we liked it and will definitely come back again.

Ordered on Uber eats and put in the description if they could add as much cheese as they could as I am having a bad day. Got the extra cheese and a lovely note to go with it. Really brightened up my day and I can't thank them enough.

Just popped in when walking down the front, good size portions. Husband said its the best bolgenese he's had yet. Lovely cheesecake too. Pizzas are big and children's portions are a good size too.

This seemed like the place to be on a Saturday night in Weston. Highlights: Charcuteríe board starter 🤌🏼 , the presentation of the foods was beautiful. The monkfish was amazing.

We just happened upon this place as we were down in Western on holiday. We hadn’t booked but we were very Warmly welcomed by the amazing staff here. From Start to finish the service was 5 star plus and the food was excellent. Thank you for making a lovely memory to our trip to western. We’ll certainly be back again.

Authentic Italian food. My partner and I had Calamari Fritti, Orchidee all'aragosta, Burrata Pugliese, Tiramisu and a pizza Il Michelangelo to go. The food was delicious. Being Italian myself it's not easy to find some real good Italian meals. If you try it, and appreciate good Italian dinner this is the place to go to. Staff and service was top notch. Vincenzo

Yesterday (Saturday 17th August ), Myself, my daughter and her husband and my Grandaughter and her husband visited Michelangelo for a special lunch, to celebrate our getting together, as we all live fairly far apart. What a disappointment my lunch was. I chose ‘Catch of the day’ as I enjoy fish normally……. Your fish was absolutely disgusting, it was dried out and the smell of it was bad. The potato cake was runny and quite cold, the veg consisted of a few sticks of broccoli and green feathery pieces of fern like veg on top !! So sad. I really should have made a complaint, but couldn’t spoil our day, so I just left it. Very expensive and very disappointing. I have to mention that your waiting staff are brilliant …. We all agreed that we would not be visiting Michelangelo again in the future.
