We didn't book, just turned up, but we were welcomed in and given a lovely table. The service was good and its a lovely building. My cannelloni was a bit rich for me...but I am one of those strange people who like lots of veggies! My friend's prawns in a tomatoey sauce and spaghetti looked really good and she said it was delicious.

1st visit...Had a lot of expectation, and it almost made 5 stars. I know that the waiting staff have a difficult task, but a smile, and good of response to questions go a long way. My son asked a male waiter a question around the menu and was given a very curt response. It had taken me a while to encourage him to ask himself, and this single bad reply really upset him. Other than that, good food and atmosphere.

Second visit and another lovely meal. The calamari was a little tougher than last time and the ice cream a little icy but the main course was divine and very generous. The Peroni was again a little flat ... sorry I am a Peroni addict and like it spot on. Will defo be back next time we are in WSM/Uphill.

Nice little Italian. Decent service. My partner's Linguine Gamberoni was excellent, but unfortunately my Caesar salad was not. The chicken was a little overdone, so slightly dry, and I realised afterwards the 'crispy bscon' had been omitted. Still tasty, but slighly disappointing...

Lovely, family run Italian restaurant, just outside Weston-super-Mare. Great service, delicious food and generous portions. Well worth a short taxi ride from the centre of Weston-super-Mare.

Visited as a party of five - 2 adults, 3 children. What a lovely meal and ambience. This was a really reasonably priced treat for us and the village it is set in is also very pretty. The food was very tasty - had five different dinners plus starters and all excellent. Also had a good wine list

La Cucina is a good Italian restaurant (they do rooms but never stayed), is it top of the range no, is it above average - Yes!. Good selection on menu, good wine list which they know how to look after. Staff are very friendly, professional and courteous. If you are in the area, pop in.

Always stuck for somewhere to go in Weston but not anymore. My husband took me out for a birthday meal that I didn't particularly want to go on but I'm so glad we did as our plans for the evening had gone down the pan. We called last minute to book and were told that they could fit us in. So we arrived and had a very warm welcome and the restaurant was really homely feeling. The service, the food and the wine was all perfect. So pleased that our initial plans didn't work out as I would have missed out on a perfect birthday treat! Thank you.

Second visit and already booking for third. This is not a restaurant to rush in and leave.The ambience, food and service excellent and only one waitress so enjoy and take your time. Not too expensive...it's up to you how much you want to spend

We had a 6:30 pm reservation and we're welcomed by a lovely host and Demetri, who talked to us about the menu and what we wanted. At the table service was excellent and friendly, all 3 course we had were exceptional. My wife is now going to book her birthday meal there due to our experience. I would recommend going to this restaurant as it is warm and friendly with great food.

La Cucina, is always our first choice for a meal in Weston. The food is excellent and the fillet steak cannot be beaten. The staff are always friendly and we have never had a bad meal.

this little restaurant La Cucina never disappoints, we are not locals, but we there every time we are in the area, about 6 times a year, Joanna, what a fantastic lady, you get lovely welcome from her and she knows the menu like the back of her hand.we would recommend anyone to stop off at La Cucina and try the excellent food. My wife and I visited this resturant on one of our very few nights out alone. La Cucina was recommended to us some time ago so we dcided to give it a try, and we were not dissapointed.

This restaurant never disappoints, lovely friendly staff, excellent service and fantastic food! I had fillet steak with vegetables, and sautéed potatoes. The Malbec was lovely too! Eaten here lots of times before, and never had a bad meal. The fish is always lovely and not to forget the pizza and pasta......... one of my favorite places to eat, and lovely location.

This restaurant is a great find and we will be sure to return. The food is extremely good and the service attentive. Unfortunately we were too full to try the desserts. Uphill is a very nice location for an independent restaurant.

Visited with a group of work colleagues on a Friday night and was welcomed into the bar area, which was cosy. We were informed our table was ready and promptly shown to it. I was asked by the waitress if I would like a drink so ordered a glass of white wine-(all of the other party had got one before I arrived, so it was just me who ordered). We all took our seats and were given menus. We were all chatting and discussing what food looked good and it must have been around 10 minutes until my wine arrived. I did feel this was quite a long time. There only seemed to be the 1 waitress working the whole restaurant, so understand she probably had a lot to do. She was friendly and polite nevertheless. We all ordered our food with some of us having starters-all arrived in good time and was hot and of a really good standard. We did also have to wait a little while when I asked for the bill but again the waitress was obviously busy and apologetic. Overall the food was excellent, I just prefer a little more attentive service, this won't stop me coming back soon with the hubby and I will be recommending as a brilliant Italian restaurant in Weston.

Having been to the restaurant back in January we decided to book La Cucina for a big family meal ahead of our wedding at Batch Country House on 15th July.They offer 2 party menus for £20 or £25 a head. We opted for £25 but wanted a spaghetti bolognese added which was not a problem. We did ask, as it was cheaper than the other main courses if we could have a side salad or garlic bread included in the price which was agreed with no issue.As the function room was out of use we were seated in the main restaurant which we actually quite liked as the atmosphere was great.The starters were a mixture laid out for everyone to help themselves and were all delicious, especially the calamari and meatballs. My one small gripe was the hot starters took a long time to come out and we had almost finished the cold starters. Similarly the side dishes were also a little slow (hence my 4 stars for the service) but it wasn't a big issue and the waiting staff couldn't have been friendly and more helpful.The main courses were all lovely, especially the belly of pork which got a big thumbs up from all our diners. The potatoes and vegetables were well cooked and plentiful and the salads and breads all very tasty.All in all, a great start to a lovely weekend. Thank you to Joanna and the team

I loved my experience at La Cucina. The website (currently) does not truly reflect the high quality food, accommodation and atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious - cooked by the Sardinian chef who was only too happy to please, one evening he cooked especially for us having just finished cooking for a party of 60 people. Joanna, the manager, made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her and her staff. I highly recommend eating and staying here.

A lot more informal than I expected- it's literally just a house turned dining room. The tables are very close together, which is a little uncomfortable. The service and food were both okay, nothing spectacular but not bad.

As always we enjoyed an excellent meal here. Their steaks are exceptional, but there again we've never had anything that wasn't! The lovely Joanne makes us feel very special every time we dine here. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food and wine in a lovely friendly atmosphere. 'Til the next time x

Would recommend booking to guarantee a seat, this restaurant looks quintessentially English from the outside but once you start eating it's Italy in Somerset, I went for confit pork belly (amazing) whilst my wife went for fish. Both really impressed and delighted to have found such a good restaurant in amongst the fish and chip shops of the coast. Will definitely go back when in the area.

Had a great meal - visited with my husband, mother & our 9 year old. Lovely food & atmosphere, not stuffy at all, the waitresses were very friendly - one lovely Polish waitress showed our son how to fold napkins into a tuxedo which he loved! Crab/prawn salad starter - fab, pizza - stunning, fillet steak - yum, chicken with herbs - delicious. If we were here longer would definitely visit again.

La Cucina is a wonderful restaurant located in Uphill, Weston-super-Mare. It seems like it's a world away from the restaurants in Weston town centre and I've always thought it is quite an odd location for a restaurant - Uphill is quite a quiet village after all.My husband and I have visited a couple of times in the past with our most recent visit being in January for my birthday.I love the menu at La Cucina and as a vegetarian there are several dishes on the menu that I can eat.We had booked a table for 7.30pm on a Wednesday night. We didn't actually need to, when we arrived it was extremely quiet (I guess this was to be expected as it was January) There was an elderly gentleman sat near the window and he left shortly after we arrived leaving us alone in the restaurant for quite some time before a couple of other diners came in.We were greeted by a really friendly waitress who showed us to our table and gave us our menus. We ordered our drinks - these were served promptly.We decided to have the 'Selection of Home Made Breads' to share. These came with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and were delicious!For my starter I chose 'Insalata Caprese.' (Mozzarella, vine tomatoes & fresh basil, served with extra virgin olive oil, rocket salad and sea salt) It was fantastic and a really good size portion too. My husband chose 'Polpette Della Mamma.' (Beef meatballs served with a spicy tomato sauce & Italian cheese) He enjoyed these and also received a decent size portion.For my main course I chose a 'Margherita Pizza' and added mushrooms and rocket leaves. It was really tasty and cooked really well. As it was my birthday and we were celebrating my husband ordered 'Bistecca Alla Fiorentina.' (18oz T-Bone steak) This was HUGE and was served with potatoes and a selection of vegetables. He enjoyed his steak very much! I shared some of his potatoes - they were yummy.As a side we ordered 'Chips.' Portion size was large and they were also tasty.Finally we took a look at the dessert menu and although my husband didn't fancy anything I decided to have 'Cheesecake.' I was delighted to discover that it was Bailey's. It was so rich and creamy and absolutely delicious!Overall we had a fantastic meal at La Cucina for my birthday. The dining room is inviting, cosy and beautifully decorated. Everything during our visit was immaculate and spotlessly clean. The service we received that evening was also fantastic. Our waitress was lovely. Not only did we receive helpful service with a smile, but she also made conversation with us and we were made to feel very welcome.Highly recommended.

As a regular to La Cucina i find the previous comment about a blonde lady with a foreign accent both misleading and offensive and could give prospective customers a totally incorrect view of this wonderful restaurant. We have always found Joanna to be a helpul and friendly person who cannot do enough for you. The food is excellent and every time i have been prompt though not served at speed as the chef cooks everything fresh and with passion. It is unfortunate that on this occasion the ladies had to wait an unacceptable amount of time but i do not think this warrants the attack on Joanna nor a comment that she is foreign as it seems to imply that this is the reason they were not happy with her. Joanna is Polish and speaks perfect English and i fail to see why anyone would need to bring her accent into a review about the service. Please dont let this review put you off simply read all of the others first which have glowing reviews. As they say you cant please all of the people all of the time.

We were invited to this restaurant on friday night by Sophia and Declan. They said the food was good and I was sceptic about Italian food, I had the starter of meatballs and it was delicious. The other half had the belly pork for mains and i had a lovely chicken dish done with 7 herbs and bursting with flavour. Lisa said the belly pork was delicious. The wine was a Malbec and it was very nice. Overall the night was a lovely experience. Good food ,good wine and good company.Staff were all lovely and very helpful. We will return next time we are down that way,

Another visit to La Cucina didn't disappoint. The food is always amazing, the staff are brilliant and the ambience is always lovely whether it's really busy or a bit quieter. I love going back to this restaurant.

We had a family celebration for our 60th Wedding Anniversary and it was brilliant!An large comprehensive menu and a friendly and amusing staff made it an evening that we shall always remember. We shall become regulars.

As a local who has used the restaurant on a number of occasions, I recommended the restaurant for my friend to celebrate her birthday with 'the girls'. She booked the table for 8pm on Saturday 25th March 2017 for 8 people. On Saturday evening, we arrived just before 8pm and were shown to our table at the back of the restaurant immediately but waited 30 minutes before anyone took our order. At 9pm, a member of our party mentioned that it had been an hour and we hadn't received any food (we were awaiting our starters) and we were informed;"This isn't Mac Donalds and we are busy!"This was not the response that was expected and far from professional or friendly, it only seemed to irritate the party further and the waitress then continued to argue with the member of our party which caused huge embarrassment to the birthday girl and to me as I had recommended the restaurant. My understanding of a 'booking system' was so that the restaurant could prepare and deal with the expected numbers of customers and provide a good service.The food arrived and was delicious as always but our table was then ignored and we weren't able to get any drinks or any additional dishes. My meal was delicious and piping hot but not what I ordered! However, I ate the meal without comment as the staff wouldn't approach the table! Our bill arrived promptly and as two members were counting out the money, the waitress tried to snatch the money away claiming that she would count it and sort it out - not necessary and very offensive. We were a party of intelligent and employed ladies not used to such neglectful service and more than capable of dealing with the bill. We were not drunk or abusive towards anyone and I felt that the service we received was unjust. The waitress was a blond lady with a foreign accent who has always been very welcoming and accommodating on previous visits.

This restaurant was a recommendation and we were eager to try it. Turned up for our 8 o clock booking only to have to almost beg for someone to take our order after 30mins waiting to be acknowledged. it then took until after 9 to even get our starters which only came after we made a comment. The male member of staff explained that there was new staff in the kitchen which could be accepted, however what we were not expecting was the defensive and rude attitude of the 'front of house manager'. she defended the time stating that the evening was busy and it was not McDonalds, well at least in McDonalds the staff are not rude. we had to wait over an hour for our main course, yet funny enough when we asked for the bill that appeared within 5 mins. Again the manager showed her professionalism by snatching our money from our hands as we were trying to count out the correct amount. When we mentioned her attitude she proceeded to tell us that we were rude. I have been to many restaurants and even on the busiest of evening never had to wait for the mediocre type food we had tonight, and I have never had such a rude offensive waitress serve me. It is definitely a place to think long and hard about going to.

Visited the restaurant this evening for a friends' Birthday. Waited half an hour to order and then, when the starters hadn't arrived a further half an hour after that, asked if they would be much longer.The manager was rude and confrontational, suggested it was normal to have to wait in a busy restaurant as it wasn't MacDonald's and we had apparently lied as it had actually only been half an hour (it may have been half an hour from ordering but as we had to wait half an hour to order we had now sat there for an hour).Almost a further hour after that, when we still hadn't had our main course, we again complained and again we were met with an aggressive defensive attitude suggesting we were being unreasonable for complaining and there was nothing they could do (a simple offer of a genuine apology & complimentary drink while we waited would have been a suggested start) It was now 10pm when we had arrived for our booking at 8pm and we still had no main course. Apparently that's acceptable and we were in the wrong.Very uncomfortable atmosphere and won't be returning or recommending. (Suggest 'front of house' have some customer service training)

After many years of regular weekly visits to this favoured restaurant,we tried to visit in the last fortnight only to find it in complete darkness with no sign of life.On subsequent enquiry of the owners as to why it was no longer open to us its regulars we were told that until further notice it would only be open on Saturdays.Not the best way to treat regular Diners.

Despite our original booking being mislaid, the restaurant coped admirably with our group, offering a wide variety of food off the menu & specials board.The meat balls starter was a good decision on a cold evening: quite hot & spicy - it's worth ordering some bread to go with it. I wouldn't normally have feta cheese, but it blended very well with the slow cooked lamb in my 'Greek lamb' main course accompanied by plenty of vegetables. I just about had room for a sweet so enjoyed a good sized, delicious creme brulee: it had its customary sugar crust which might have benefitted from a little, heat, but all in all an excellent meal in friendly surroundings.All our companions seemed to enjoy their choices & I look forward to visiting La Cucina again.

We've had fabulous meals in this restaurant before, in gorgeous and relaxing surroundings and with great service, but this time we hired the restaurant for a private gathering one afternoon, and it was incredible. Jo was there to greet us with her warm welcome, everything was prepared exactly as we'd asked for, and the buffet food was out of this world - imaginative, delicious and so plentiful, with an Italian twist. The wines and coffee were divine. The wonderful owner and chef, Demetrius, was there to ensure that everything ran smoothly. We really can't thank you all enough - it was a very special gathering, thanks to you. I've only ever written one review on Trip Advisor, but I've now written two for you guys - you thoroughly deserve it.

I cannot say enough good things about La Cucina.If you are looking for consistently amazing food, a great atmosphere and friendly staff then look no further. There is also a separate bar area which is nice to have a little tipple at before having a yummy meal.We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Thank you La Cucina!

Beautiful Italian restaurant that is well worth the short trip out of weston! Friendly and welcoming service from all the staff that makes a massive difference in the experience. Delicious food that is so full of flavour and I have enjoyed without issue every time I've visited.

Second visit in the last few months as a party of eight. All enjoyed everything about both evenings. Properly looked after, the food was great and the bill was (on both occasions) very reasonable given the fact that most of us are wine guzzlers.Nothing was too much trouble and the staff even managed to sort out taxis home as we were having no luck ourselves on a busy Saturday before Xmas. Will be back.

We loved this place, and I'm quite difficult to please! The atmosphere is so relaxing, with lovely decor, the service was impeccable, the Italian food authentic and yet imaginative (beautifully cooked), and the house wine incredibly good. We just couldn't fault it. Have already booked a table for next week, as well as a private party.

I have visited La Cucina on many occasions and always found the standard of food, choice of dishes and environment to be a very high standard. You are always assured of a warm welcome and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine on offer. I visited La Cucina as a part of a large group the other night. I have been a pescatarian for around 12 years and am used to struggling to find anything on a menu that I can eat, however I was delighted with the variety on La Cucina's menu. I chose the vegetarian cannelloni which did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious, as was the creme Braille o had for dessert. The service was excellent and they welcomed us like friends. They even let us have a tour around their B&B after our meal! Will definitely be returning.

From the moment we arrived ( a personal welcome at the door) the atmosphere was very warm, friendly & relaxed. This is the first time we have eaten here and felt like old friends. Service was very personal & the team very attentive, the food was excellent across the variety of meals we had, from sea bass, t-bone steak, pizza, lamb shank & others. I didnt have the t-bone, tried a mouthful - thats my choice on our next visit!

It was the worst meal I've had in a long time. It looked like it came out of a tin of dog food. It tasted awful and it was very expensive for the quality of food. I will not be returning and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

I have been using this restaurant a lot lately, from a birthday meal for 8 to a dinner for 20 to a celebration meal for 42, and every time I have been the food is excellent, the staff attentive, from the best calamari in town to T bones to melt in your mouth to tempting home made creme brûlée or tirimasu, it is all good and always consistent.A real pleasure to visit as you are sure to get the same great level of high standards every time.....Don't want to tell too many people about this little gem...as we might find it harder to get a table when I want one.

Came a couple of weeks ago for daughters birthday, the service was rather slow and haphazard but the chef came round the tables at the end of the evening to thank everyone for their patience and explain that he had been left on his own at short notice due to illness. We understood and appreciated him informing everyone as it explained why things were not quite the same as usual.When we ordered my husband asked if he could substitute the sautéed potatoes with his dish for chips, which were available as an extra, the waitress explained that they did not substitute vegetables but chips could be ordered as an extra, fair enough. We had to ask for an ice bucket for our chilled wine and a request for a beer was forgotten. Food was as good as usual but the staff obviously distracted.

Once again a lovely meal with friends - and met some others already there so that proves how nice it is! Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely authentic Italian food, beautifully cooked and served with humour and grace, in spite of being busy.

We visited here about 18 months ago and it was incredible! We managed to find it again and it did not disappoint, was just as good! Would definitely recommend!

We came here the first time in Feb 2015 and it was just brilliant and me and the better half agreed we have to come back when we are in the area again and it was most definitely worth it!! Was simply brilliant!!! Will be looking forward to our next British breakaway so we can come back again!!

My girlfriend and I had Dinner on a busy Saturday evening. The staff were clearly busy but generally very efficient and helpful. For our first and only visit we were very impressed. The food is superb at a fair price. It's a busy, popular place with plenty of atmosphere. If you want quieter and cheaper, then take your OAP bus pass to Pizza Hut!

Antipasto Misto (Italian cold meats and cheeses with roasted veg) is certainly not worth £16. It was basically a few slices of salami and ham, as you could buy from any supermarket for a couple of quid, no cheese, no roasted veg. Instead there was a couple of mini stuffed peppers, again supermarket produce and a couple of pickled chilli's?! Plus some dried stale bread, asked for some butter, received just one individual portion. The main course was nice, didn't bother with a sweet as we could see from other diners that they were just factory produced products.

I can only echo what other people have said about this restaurant. We went with my parents, we all had something different - I had the risotto to start, followed by the lamb shanks - absolutely delicious. Everything piping hot and nicely presented. Comfortable seating, very busy, quick service but not rushed. Reasonably priced. Will definitely return. We quite fancied the special three course dinner Tuesday to Thursday for £20!

Every single food we ordered are tasty and fresh....and the service are good. Basically our birthday meal for my Sis. Went really well!!!!

This restaurant came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint us. The food was brilliant and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. Marianna, one of the waitresses, was so delightful. She made us feel so welcoming and she looked after us like we were royalty.

Our friends choose this restaurant as a gamble as they have never eaten in it before. The gamble paid off as the food and service was exceptional. I highly recommend you try the menu and the staff will make you feel at home.

I have just enjoyed a wonderful meal here with my family, the food was fresh and delicious, and the staff happily changed the menu to cater for our dietary needs. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This was the favourite restaurant we ate in during our week in Weston. Would recommend !!

La Cuccina is one of the very best around this area. Friendly, relaxed venue with tremendous menu and great wine list. Joanna heads up the front of house and is truly brilliant and very knowledgeable. We have visited this restaurant many times with family and friends and have never been disappointed!

I have wanted to try this restaurant for a while and last night we had a wonderful meal to celebrate A level results.There were 6 of us in our group and we all agreed the food was absolutely delicious.Our waitresses were attentive and polite.I will be returning because there was nothing not to like.

This superb little restaurant is hiding away from the Weston super Mare sea front and delivers great food. We went there on a Tuesday nigh in July and it was almost empty, such a shame.The food was good, with my veal with mushrooms very good. One of our party had a dairy intolerance and they provided two dishes of vegetables, one with and one without butter. Very thoughtful!There was an interesting selection of desserts.

I went here one valentines evening and i have to say it was rather very busy however even though this was the case i can not faikt them in any way, put me to my table quickly enough, seevice was brilliant and the food was amazing!!!!Hoghly recommend!!
