We spent a nice sunny afternoon in the pub garden. The service was fab, with orders being taken at the garden shack. Very convenient, especially when trying to keep an eye on my kids in the playground. The Sunday roast was delicious. We're definitely coming back.

Myself and two friends go out every Sunday for lunch and the Roast Lunch here was one of the best. Place was very busy but staff were first class and the landlady was luvly and food was plentiful and hot. Well done and we shall be back.

A bit pricey but a nice space outside for the kids (as they weren't allowed in the evening).

We visited with our 3 year old yesterday around 1pm. She was desperate to see the animals so we had lunch outside in the sun, next to the animal area! Then we took our drinks round into the play area. Food was great and very well priced. Staff very friendly and helpful. We have also eaten in the restaurant a few times for lunch and dinner and had a lovely time.

Great little pub but it’s advisable to book a table as it’s quite a cosy place and always very popular. Great food at very good prices.

Just had a lovely meal as part of a group of twelve. The service was excellent and they have a great system for managing separate bills. The food is very good and the place is lovely. I’ll happily go again and recommend it.

Great pub. Lovely animals in the garden,( like a mini zoo). There's a nice play area for children. Varirty of very tasty and adventurous food, good selection of beers, really friendly staff and customers. A homely snug bar off the restaurant area. Seperate area to watch the footie. What more could you wish for.

Steak was excellent, pudding of apple blackcurrant crumble dry. Bring back your mushroom starter.

Lovely little English pub, low ceilings and log fire there in the bar area. Heater outside by the benches. Seemed lovely and clean. Although we didn't eat, the food on a Sunday looked and smelt amazing. We will be returning for a su day dinner soon. Thanks.

I went to the pub with big group of friends all with kids. We had a great time exploring the animals they have there,feeding the goats,enjoying the playground as well as a nice and affordable afternoon meal.

Arrived just before they stopped serving lunchtime food. But the lady was very accommodating and served us. I go fairy frequently and love the Sunday roasts. It is also has a great play area for kids (during summer) and lots of animals. All in all, it's a great place to visit.

A proper country pub with a proper Sunday roast, good atmosphere & friendly staff. Oct'24 update: back again for Sunday Roast and it's still excellent! We also managed to squeeze some pudding in, which unsurprisingly is also great. :-D

It is a great place to stay with family. Grass and flowers are beautifully planted. They have a very good playarea for kids. We enjoy the food and drinks by the pub.

Really good! We called at short notice and they were able to slot us in. Good pub food!

Went two nights running as the food was so good. We booked both times which is advised as its very busy. I had a ploughman's which was huge, very tasty a great value . The wife had prawn tagliatelle, which had loads of prawns , lots of sauce and was one of the best she has ever had. The following night we both had the Sunday roast , which was excellent, decent meet , fresh veg , good roasties and big Yorkshire. Also very good value. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return if we are in the area again.

Just returned from a lovely evening in this pub. Great food, great service and atmosphere. A special mention must go to Libby, our waitress, who was attentive without being intrusive and did her job brilliantly. Our only regret is that we live too far away to come back regularly! If only all pubs were like this!

What an incredible find! We were on our way home to Manchester having been to a gig in Plymouth last night. Beautiful building, beautiful setting, it looked very busy but the car park just went on and on so no issues there. Fully booked inside but a beautiful sunny day so ordered Sunday lunch at the ice cream counter which doubles as food ordering for all outside areas. And there are a few! Food was served quickly, it was absolutely delicious, huge portions and really good value for money. If we’re ever in the area again we will be stopping here!

We were absolutely blown away by the facilities at The House in the Tree in Cheltenham. This pub goes above and beyond to cater to families, offering a petting zoo, a children’s football pitch, and a massive play garden with a climbing frame. They even have an ice cream hut, which was a delightful treat for the kids. Although we had already eaten before arriving, we couldn't resist trying the food and ordered a lasagna to share. It was outstanding! The kids' meals are also a fantastic deal at just £5.75 each. Jason, the landlord, was incredibly kind and gave our son some food to feed the animals, which made his day. It's very rare to find somewhere that caters so well to families. We spent over two hours there, and our little boy didn't want to leave! We’re so glad we came and cannot wait to visit again. James and Clare

It's easy to see why this place is popular. The pork belly and mash was superb and there was more than enough of it. You won't leave here hungry!!! The staff are great. Friendly, efficient, and they give off the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble.

I made a telephone inquiry on the day regarding Sunday roast; the member of staff warned us that we would only be able to sit outside, otherwise it should be fine. Atmosphere very lively on arrival, very busy. Queried with staff at the door, who confirmed we should still be able to order, and encouraged us to do so once we had a table number outside. However, on actually ordering we were informed orders would no longer be considered for another half an hour minimum. Given the time spent already, we decided to go elsewhere. While I appreciate the pub was very busy, I think we should have been given a realistic expectation of things over the phone/whether food would be available and how long we would expect to wait for service.

Lovely place, very busy for a Tuesday lunch time but service was still great, polite friendly staff. Food was cooked quickly and tasted great. We had the basket meals, burger and chips and sampi and chips. Both excellent value and great portion size.

We came here for my Nans 80th Birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were lovely and the pub itself was full of character. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We'll definitely be back! Our children will absolutely love seeing the animals and playing in the play area.

Tasty pub food. There is a children's play area in the garden with it's own ordering area so a winner if you have young children with you. They also sell ice cream which no child can resist!

Lovely garden area with plenty of benches and a new enclosed seating area with a tv. There's a climbing area with a slide and a playhouse to keep the kids amused. Food is nice with a good selection and separate children's menu.

We were a large group to accommodate but from the moment we stepped inside we were greeted and our table was ready for us. Amber was very attentitive getting our drinks straight away. Food was served up fast and attention to detail was excellent. I can't fault anything! Food, service and atmosphere was one if the best I've ever seen.

Nice country pub with good parking and plenty of seating. There's an external location to order if eating outdoors which works ok, although slightly irritating from a queuing perspective as the order point is in a kids running everywhere / no dogs area, rather than external to that enclosure, where it could be a little calmer.

We went for Sunday lunch, although it was very busy, our food arrived quite quickly and all 5 of us enjoyed our meal. The roast dinner portions are good with lots of vegetables, the kids enjoyed their chicken and chips. The staff work hard and were friendly. The outside area by the road was too noisy for conversation but we moved to a quieter outside part. Very reasonably priced. A lovely place indeed.
