Booked a table for 10 people today and from start to finish it was great.The food and service was very good and couldn't fault it. Definitely will come back

Lovely little English pub, low ceilings and log fire there in the bar area. Heater outside by the benches. Seemed lovely and clean. Although we didn't eat, the food on a Sunday looked and smelt amazing. We will be returning for a su day dinner soon. Thanks.

I went to the pub with big group of friends all with kids. We had a great time exploring the animals they have there,feeding the goats,enjoying the playground as well as a nice and affordable afternoon meal.

Been there with friends for food and drinks, the food was great , best pepper corn sauce I have had all year.

Arrived just before they stopped serving lunchtime food. But the lady was very accommodating and served us. I go fairy frequently and love the Sunday roasts. It is also has a great play area for kids (during summer) and lots of animals. All in all, it's a great place to visit.

A proper country pub with a proper Sunday roast, good atmosphere & friendly staff. Oct'24 update: back again for Sunday Roast and it's still excellent! We also managed to squeeze some pudding in, which unsurprisingly is also great. :-D

It is a great place to stay with family. Grass and flowers are beautifully planted. They have a very good playarea for kids. We enjoy the food and drinks by the pub.

What a great place to eat, drink and kick back and relax. Food was delicious, pudding was scrummy 😋 and staff could not do enough for us. Will definitely be back if in the area again. Thanks to the staff for a great meal experience.

Beautiful old pub. Great food and service, has a play area for kids and also a small farm area. Highly recommend but if eating suggest you book.

Really good! We called at short notice and they were able to slot us in. Good pub food!

Went two nights running as the food was so good. We booked both times which is advised as its very busy. I had a ploughman's which was huge, very tasty a great value . The wife had prawn tagliatelle, which had loads of prawns , lots of sauce and was one of the best she has ever had. The following night we both had the Sunday roast , which was excellent, decent meet , fresh veg , good roasties and big Yorkshire. Also very good value. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return if we are in the area again.

Just returned from a lovely evening in this pub. Great food, great service and atmosphere. A special mention must go to Libby, our waitress, who was attentive without being intrusive and did her job brilliantly. Our only regret is that we live too far away to come back regularly! If only all pubs were like this!

Very bad, more than half an hour for a portion of potatoes, really very unpleasant.

What an incredible find! We were on our way home to Manchester having been to a gig in Plymouth last night. Beautiful building, beautiful setting, it looked very busy but the car park just went on and on so no issues there. Fully booked inside but a beautiful sunny day so ordered Sunday lunch at the ice cream counter which doubles as food ordering for all outside areas. And there are a few! Food was served quickly, it was absolutely delicious, huge portions and really good value for money. If we’re ever in the area again we will be stopping here!

We were absolutely blown away by the facilities at The House in the Tree in Cheltenham. This pub goes above and beyond to cater to families, offering a petting zoo, a children’s football pitch, and a massive play garden with a climbing frame. They even have an ice cream hut, which was a delightful treat for the kids. Although we had already eaten before arriving, we couldn't resist trying the food and ordered a lasagna to share. It was outstanding! The kids' meals are also a fantastic deal at just £5.75 each. Jason, the landlord, was incredibly kind and gave our son some food to feed the animals, which made his day. It's very rare to find somewhere that caters so well to families. We spent over two hours there, and our little boy didn't want to leave! We’re so glad we came and cannot wait to visit again. James and Clare

Was disappointed - in a noisy pokey corner in the bar because we had a dog. Food choice limited.

It's easy to see why this place is popular. The pork belly and mash was superb and there was more than enough of it. You won't leave here hungry!!! The staff are great. Friendly, efficient, and they give off the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble.

I made a telephone inquiry on the day regarding Sunday roast; the member of staff warned us that we would only be able to sit outside, otherwise it should be fine. Atmosphere very lively on arrival, very busy. Queried with staff at the door, who confirmed we should still be able to order, and encouraged us to do so once we had a table number outside. However, on actually ordering we were informed orders would no longer be considered for another half an hour minimum. Given the time spent already, we decided to go elsewhere. While I appreciate the pub was very busy, I think we should have been given a realistic expectation of things over the phone/whether food would be available and how long we would expect to wait for service.

Lovely place, very busy for a Tuesday lunch time but service was still great, polite friendly staff. Food was cooked quickly and tasted great. We had the basket meals, burger and chips and sampi and chips. Both excellent value and great portion size.

Great pub. Lovely animals in the garden ( like a mini zoo) really nice play area for children. Fantastic food, good selection of beers, really friendly staff and customers. A lovely snug bar off the restaurant area. Seperate area to watch the footie. What more could you wish for.

We came here for my Nans 80th Birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were lovely and the pub itself was full of character. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We'll definitely be back! Our children will absolutely love seeing the animals and playing in the play area.

Tasty pub food. There is a children's play area in the garden with it's own ordering area so a winner if you have young children with you. They also sell ice cream which no child can resist!

Lovely garden area with plenty of benches and a new enclosed seating area with a tv. There's a climbing area with a slide and a playhouse to keep the kids amused. Food is nice with a good selection and separate children's menu.

We were a large group to accommodate but from the moment we stepped inside we were greeted and our table was ready for us. Amber was very attentitive getting our drinks straight away. Food was served up fast and attention to detail was excellent. I can't fault anything! Food, service and atmosphere was one if the best I've ever seen.

I would strongly recommend this place for lunches or evening meals.Great food with first class service.

Nice country pub with good parking and plenty of seating. There's an external location to order if eating outdoors which works ok, although slightly irritating from a queuing perspective as the order point is in a kids running everywhere / no dogs area, rather than external to that enclosure, where it could be a little calmer.

We went for Sunday lunch, although it was very busy, our food arrived quite quickly and all 5 of us enjoyed our meal. The roast dinner portions are good with lots of vegetables, the kids enjoyed their chicken and chips. The staff work hard and were friendly. The outside area by the road was too noisy for conversation but we moved to a quieter outside part. Very reasonably priced. A lovely place indeed.

We were too late for the restaurant so can’t comment but thoroughly enjoyed a pasty and sausage roll with our drinks. I can highly recommend a visit (a stay of you’ve a motor home), such a warm welcome from all staff, Sam was fabulous, very professional, good chat and friendly. A great place to visit!

Having been unable to get a table at the Old Spot a quick Google search found the nearby House in the Tree. I'd never been there before but I had heard it was good. We were not disappointed. An excellent meal , good beer and superb service from Amber who looked after us. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Parked overnight in the carpark, then our motorhome embarrassed itself by not starting. Everyone was wonderful and patient whilst the breakdown service sorted us out. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was good, a really nice country pub 🥰

Visited 21/04: the food was really good, highly recommend the pork roast. What made a lovely dinner disappointing was the staff. We knew there was a 2 hour limit on how long you had a table for however the service was not quick enough to factor the time limit in. We never “took our time” ordering or hindered the process yet when we were barely halfway through dessert a member of staff condescendingly said “you knew you had a time limit when you booked”. How is it our fault that the ordering and clearing of tables was delayed? If you’re going to have strict time limits then your service and your clearing away plates between courses needs to be way more quicker. Somewhat accessible, narrow doorways and sloped flooring. Step into ladies toilets.

Aboustley lovely and food was amazing

Unless your having a burger or pie & chips..size portions on any other dish was a let down?

My partner wasn’t allowed to change our young son without being escorted by a male staff member, forced to wait until every other person had left the toilet, and then multiple other women were allowed in as he was stood waiting. My poor son had an accident by this point, all due to being forced to wait while. Ridiculous that they won’t allow a man to change their kids, no inclusiveness and just completely embarrassed my partner. We left straight after, after no apology offered at the time.

Really enjoyed the food. Had a delicious steak and my partner enjoyed his fish and chips. Puddings were great too. Recommend this pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is great. This is a very busy place, so would recommend booking a table

Unbelievable service. Greeted by friendly staff who managed to fit us into the nearest slot for dinner as we had not booked beforehand. Had a few drinks and saw the animals outside which the other half absolutely loved. Came in for our meal and the service was quick and consistent, the food was absolutely spectacular. Upon leaving our car battery had died so we asked if we could leave over night so I could jump start the next day and the bar staff very kindly offered to jump the car for us which was the cherry on the cake of an already massively pleasant experience. 10 out of 10 will be returning.

I used to go here as a child with my parents. Still a nice place. The food was ok, the staff were really nice and allowed a good atmosphere for the 40th wedding anniversary I attended.

Found this pub by chance, lovely location, food was out of this world, and the staff were so friendly.

I was treated for a birthday meal and was very impressed. Good selection on the menu. The service was excellent. I would definitely visit again.

House viewing in Cheltenham and found this pub on our way home. We recieved a warm and friendly welcome. Very busy but able to have a table in the bar area. Excellent food, good quality and very tasty. Beer was Jail Ale, which was outstanding. Highly recommend
