Came as a solo to the coastal inn where there was a comfortable fullness to the place. I checked out the menu and noticed a large selection of sea-food on offer. I, however, selected the roast duck with a cheeky extra yorkshire. It wasn't long until my food arrived (pictured) and boy! I was not disappointed! The portion was big enough to perfectly satisfy what I needed, without the need for me to hang on to dear life forcing this food into me. Although windy, it was lovely to sit outside and over look the small marina neighbouring the pub.

On the off chance we would get a booking, not only on a Sunday but Mothers Day, we were relived to learn we could be booked for a table and boy were we pleased about that! A great selection of real ales, wine, and the food...YUM! Our server was so lovely and attentive. We would absolutely come again if we are back down in the south of the county! Thank you

Dressed, as I was, as a pirate, for the Achor's shanty festival, I had great difficulty entering the authentically-18th century pub through its narrow and not-very-sword-friendly doorway, through which I had to turn sideways. (Cutlasses might best be removed before ent'rin'.) The interior, with its low beamed ceiling, further ensured that we skurvy knaves removed our hats; while the sheer body of people coming and going with their pints and quarts of foaming ale or rum meant we definitely had to watch our Ps and Qs. A great pub in the tradition of dockside pubs.

Meal with partner and her family one evening here, friendly staff and lovely locally sourced produce. We all chose a mussel dish and had no complaints. Good portion size with sliced bread and a bowl of chips. The Inn itself is also a factor in my review given its idyllic location near the coast and an interesting rich history given the age of the building, approx 450 years old.

I chose from the mussel menu (yes a menu! Where else do you get that choice?!). I asked the waitress’s opinion - it was her least favourite and she suggested mussels Normandy I went for it and it was excellent. Went with a couple of friends of mine for a Christmas dinner. We didn’t have an issue with starter or the sweet. The staff were lovely. But can someone tell me why when you choose beef it has to be red in the middle. Then your given a steak knife with a serrated edge to cut it which failed miserably .It makes no sense. You might say I should have complained but why should I upset a waitress when she had nothing to do with it. This very rarely happens when you order a carvery in a pub. Sorry for the rant but at £45 a head I think we deserved better. Would have been a 2 rating had it not been for the good service Bob

We attended for lunch znd was really pleased with our food. So much so we decided to meet some friends there for an evening meal the following night. The food the following evening was very disappointing. The pan-fried chicken was definitely boiled, and had never seen a pan. The mushroom and sauce was watery and had no flavour at all, and the mash tasted like a packet mix. The curry was extremely hot, like it had been heated in a microwave. The curry sauce was again watery and spicy with no underlying flavour. It was really disappointing.
