The Lobster Lounge in Teignbridge

This is a little gem in Teignmouth! Very understated from outside, but once inside the staff are in full customer care mode. We were greeted by friendly bar staff who explained our table wasn’t ready, however we could have a drink at the bar. All good for us as we enjoy a relaxed dining style. No stress. We were shown to our table and the menu explained. We knew it’s was tapas but the waiter explained the rough number of dishes to order as a couple. We ate everything from the standard tapas dish, Patatas Bravas, to a gorgeous Chicken dish with Thyme & Lemon, Chorizo in red wine, Lobster Arancini and Goats Cheese. Every dish was really lovely and felt like a unique experience in the area. We didn’t experience the cocktails, but finished dinner with a liquor coffee. The bill was a pleasant surprise too as we were estimating a lot more! Would recommend and will definitely be returning when back visiting family in Teignmouth later in the year. Thank you all!

Really good food, super wine selection and very drinkable cocktails and mocktails. 3 of us including a 12 year old who loved the Colada. Service warm and friendly if a little haphazard (in a nice way) and a relaxed setting. I'm feeling happy thinking about our evening there when I'm writing this. Main dishes were steak (medium rare as the chef suggested and they were quite correct), beef pasta and wood fired pork belly. White Skulls Jumilla to wash it down.

Visited the lobster lounge whilst on holiday what a highlight of the week, an extremely warm welcome from the staff the decor is really nice , we had mock tails and they were perfect not too sweet , tapas was amazing with a special mention for the patas bravas best I have ever had. It’s great when a place just gets it right and this place certainly does. Deffo one to try if you are in the area or on holiday.

This bar is my go to for cocktails in Teignmouth for sure! Ebony is amazing and totally the reason why I have returned several times. She’s so passionate about what she does and it’s infectious! Honestly if she doesn’t have one already that girl needs a pay rise! 10/10 for the spicy Margs.

Only popped in for a drink. Lovely warm welcome from both the staff. Loved watching the fish in the large aquarium built into the bar counter.

Cocktails had theatre and tasted great. Tapas were really good, only let down for me were the baby squid, the coating overpowered the seafood but others in my party loved them. The patatas bravas were a religious experience, think I actually whimpered at one point. Loved this place

Delicious tapas with a twist. Great to meet the young chef who is clearly talented and passionate about the food he is making. Good service from a team who know their stuff and work well together. Look forward to returning in the future.

We are locals, but had tried this establishment a year or so ago when it first opened. I must say, since then they’ve obviously got on their feet and WOW, the place is gorgeous! We popped our heads round the door and the ambiance drew us in. We didn’t stay for dinner as we’d already booked somewhere else, but we stayed for a couple of pints. We sat at the bar and watched, the place was buzzing with people eating gorgeous food, drinking amazing cocktails but also catered for me and my partner sitting at the bar with cold lager’s. The young woman (obviously the manager) behind the bar was making glorious cocktails, guiding staff and customers and still had time to have a quick chat with us at the bar. The decor in the place was gorgeous, quite rustic in places but it works. This is a place to have a few drinks or cocktails if you have booked somewhere else but also a place for that special meal . It looks as if you need to book as it is not a big place. Anyway, well done to the crew there who have made it a lovely place for Teignmouth to have.

Originally booked into crabshack, stumbled across here and had a few drinks. We were told we could switch our booking from the crabshack to here which we did. So we came the day after. Food was amazing and beer is spot on. The comments about food coming out at different times is lack of understanding behind tapas service. We loved it we will be back. Thanks again for getting us in!

We popped in for a drink before our dinner reservation but due to the prowess of the chief mixologist Ebony we soon came back. It was fantastic to meet someone who was so confident and knoweldable in their role. We really got a sense of how passionate Ebony was about her craft. We only wish we lived closer so that we could benefit from her expertise more often.

Well, what can I say, brilliant food, saff, and a special thanks too, Ebony whose knowledge of the food wine and cocktails is impressive, a great experience and I would if you are in the area to give it a try.

My Wife and I ate here Saturday 30th March whilst staying in Teignmouth. We had reserved in advance after reading some reviews. Communication prior was good, confirming our reservation. We had a nice corner table for the 2 of us, with plenty of room despite the restaurant being busy. The food was just fantastic. Absolutely the best Potato Bravas you will ever taste. Chorizo in Red Wine, Mushroom Croquettes, Lobster Arancini, Exmoor Caviar, all spot on. Wifey also had a Tiramisu tini cocktail which was delicious. Service was great even although they were busy - all very attentive. Would not hesitate to recommend Lobster Lounge. What a fab place.

We tried this place for the first time recently and wow’s what a find! Every single item we had from the menu was absolutely delicious, the food was so flavourful and really enjoyable! Everything from the nibbles, to bigger plates, to flatbread, chicken dishes, lamb, and dessert was just outstanding. The service was extremely friendly, and we felt very welcome here. The food came out quickly and the ambience in the entire place was perfect - interior design is spot on and they had some lovely Spanish music playing in the background. This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in Devon for a while and will certainly be coming back!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a big smile. The cocktails here are divine! Created by an awesome mixologist, who's passion and knowledge was so refreshing. Our waiter was equally passionate, smiley and knew the menu so well. Our tapas was superb, every mouthful a symphony of flavours. The ambiance was equally lovely. All in all, one of the best little finds. We will most definitely be back 😊

We had a fantastic meal here last night. Tapas menu so nice to be able to order a few small plates and share. Food was sublime! Had patatas bravas; (have to say best I’ve had outside of Spain),chipirones; lobster arancini, a slow cooked beef flatbread and lobster ravioli. All delicious. Food is freshly cooked and arrives at the table when it is ready, perfect. Good range of Spanish beers on tap and also have a good Portuguese Douro house red which you can buy in a terracotta 1/2 litre carafe. Ebony served us and did a great job, especially as there was just her on service. Lovely welcome and service. Luis did an amazing job in the kitchen, delicious flavours and well presented. Was really looking forward to dining here, left feeling let down by food. Pricey food which sadly didn't deliver. We travel for good food, this was mediocre for the price. Cocktails were good.

Wow!....what a splendid establishment....the Rum selection is amazing, plus a really good selection of other spirits and an excellent wine list The menu is very interesting and we had a selection of three dishes all of which were really tasty The service was outstanding.....I cannot compliment the Lobster lounge too much I do NOT normally go overboard about places we visit, but in this case it deserves praise I can only recommend the Lobster lounge to those who like good food and drink, it is not an inexpensive venue, but you do get value for monet without a doubt

WOW! Just incredible, heavenly food! My Mum and I visited for her 60th birthday lunch - we loved the decor and atmosphere. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was simply divine. We enjoyed the patatas bravas, Padron peppers, lobster arancini, burrata gnocchi, Exmoor caviar and the sobrasada prawns. All the flavours and textures were just beautiful. Having booked for NYE 🎉 Tasting Menu, initially signs not good as not allowed in until 8pm, (arrived at 7.30pm)as still moving tables around. Once in & seated, the head waiter explained the menu & cost £££which came as a BIG surprise as never informed of price at time of booking, but having explained this a large adjustment to cost was made. Now onto the food, the Tasting Menu was outstanding, great dishes (12 in total) full of flavours & beautifully presented, the service from both servers was excellent & the place had a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend 👍

Great tapas served in an old pub conversion. House wine in a pottery jug, was a nice Mediterranean touch. Good veggie choices and lovely postre!

After making a booking approx six weeks in advance, I had a telephone call a few days prior to my booking to say they no longer open on a Wednesday!. No one thought to look at their bookings and let me know sooner. Friends had already purchased train tickets.

Fantastic - we have been many times and love the vibe, the service and great tapas but tonight we tried the experience tasting menu along with the wine paring. Absolutely amazing - food was superb (thank you chefs Louis and Emily - your passion for food was evident) Ebony was a great host and so knowledgeable about the wine which was delicious and went perfectly with the food. Cannot recommend enough.

Booked for my wife’s birthday, never disappointed always satisfied. So good to be able to choose dishes from a menu far apart from anything else on offer in Teignmouth. The food is always perfectly cooked and well presented, not the biggest menu but ideal for the size of the place. Plenty of choice drinks wise and again different options to other places in town. We are always made to feel welcome and a valued customer not just someone who is there to spend money. Well worth a visit if you’ve never been before. Keep up the great work guys.

We came last Saturday for the first time - a regular visitors to Teignmouth we had never been before. The vibe is very cosy and romantic. The staff were very friendly and informative. Food was good but feel like a few dishes were lacking flavour such as the lamb flatbread and the lobster arancini, also the squid came with no dip and this was a bit tasteless. The rest of the food was delicious and the cocktails and wine were great. Only thing i would say is we waited nearly an hour just to order food - this is way too long, we were starving and had to actually call the waiter for assistance in the end

This place is simply fantastic, there is so much care from the service team because they are supported by a frankly outstanding kitchen. When you visit Teignmouth, you must eat here and you must explore the menu, this food is seriously good.

We had a really good tapas meal for an evening meal and with Estrella on draught what's not to like...a real Spanish feel and vibe, absolutely go back and 100% recommend...but do book ahead

We had an early booking of 6:30 but it was already packed out. We were sat in a bench table near the loo which is not very romantic seeing as we booked for our anniversary. That’s the only negative. The tapas was incredible. Love how the food is brought out randomly one at a time so we got to each each plate super hot! Mushroom croquettes and Patattas brava were delicious, hats off the the chef. Lobster was very pricy and well cooked but not enough meat for two to enjoy at all. So disappointing as was the reason we chose the lounge. The bramble cocktail is the best ever. The winning combination of the place was Dante Wolf and his mesmerising guitar music. If he is there when you visit you are in for a treat. Over all, we enjoyed and would hugely recommend but ask for a better table!

Incredible spot! It is hands down my favourite restaurant/place to eat, the food is absolutely insanely delicious! Probably the most silent meal I have ever eaten as me and my mum were just blown away by the food and it would ruin the experience of enjoying the most delicious dishes ever by speaking. The service is impeccable, the staff were so lovely, welcoming and attentive without ever being overbearing. It was my mums birthday and we were there to celebrate and the staff made sure she/we felt very special and looked after. They also do fantastic cocktails and mocktails, truly everything is done superbly. I will without a doubt be coming here again as often as I can and recommend it to everyone! You simply must try it!!

We came here a few months ago and it was amazing. The next time we brought guests for cocktails which was a delight. Avoid at all costs Whilst away on a mini break my friend wanted to spoil us to a tapas meal. We arrived 5 minutes early . We were shown to the bar as waitress needed to clean our allocated table in the window. However a group of four people came in and sat at our table. When we asked what was going on we were simply told we would have to wait forty minutes. We said it was impossible, my friend had paid deposit of £30 this was appalling behaviour , the waitresses were very polite I must add. Manager Alex arrived solved the situation and gave us a new table . We ordered our meals . Hugely disappointed as our meals were not served at the same time the side dishes were handed out at least 15 mins I had my food before my companions ifelt awful sitting there just picking at my pasta dish .the food was minute not enough to satisfy a child .although clean and tasty the whole experience was a shambles . My friend did make it known to manager but he was extremely patronising stating tapas arrived different times he even suggested we were naive to fine dining laughable as we eat out at all establishments regularly. I have never left a bad review so please people believe me go elsewhere it's a rip off.

Would thoroughly recommend this place. It had a lovely atmosphere and friendly service but above all the quality of the food was quite something. The five of us shared a selection of the tapas dishes, and each one blew us away. You've never enjoyed patatas bravas like it. House wines were excellent too, and as a final bonus, it was dog friendly.

We are regulars to the Lobster Lounge. I wanted to write a review as I feel that this restaurant just keeps getting better. the food is nicer than any I’ve had and the service is efficient. You are made to feel very welcome. The Manager is very passionate and is always keen to make sure you are happy. It’s a place to go to chill, tapas come out when prepared and it’s a pleasure to soak up the atmosphere whilst waiting. Definitely a place to return.

We have lived in Teignmouth for a long time and during that time we can honestly say that "The Lobster Lounge" has been one of the best and most pleasant places to eat out in the town. It is a bistro style restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere which specialises in a range of tapas dishes as well as more substantial dishes. It has recently invested a lot of money in expanding its kitchen which means it now offers artisan bread and other dishes cooked in their fire ovens, The front of house staff are always polite and accommodating and explain the choices very carefully so you always chooses the bst dishes for your palate. The Chef are passionate about their dishes and will often be found in the restaurant animatedly describing their dishes to customers. Remember this is restaurant where everything is cooked to order, and in the best Spanish Tapas Tradition dishes come at different times. But don't worry while you're waiting enjoy some of their excellent wine or one of their lovely cocktails or even if you are the nominated driver for the evening try a Mocktail! All-in-al a very enjoyable experience and believe me you'll be waiting with anticipation until the next time you visit to see what new dishes have been chosen with passion by the chefs.

We booked a table and arrived on time. Our table was pointed out to us and we were asked to wait until it was cleared. 10 mins later another group of people were seated at our table. We waited another 10 minutes and were then given a table at the back of the restaurant. At this point we would have walked out but we had paid a hefty £30 deposit when booking. I can understand why they require such a deposit because I’m sure many others would walk away if treated like we were. We spoke to the manager (Alex) who had a nonchalant attitude. We ordered our food which consisted of two side dishes and three mains. One of our mains arrived with two side dishes and we then had to wait until one of our group had finished her food until the rest of the order appeared. The waitress was apologetic but Alex couldn’t care less - he said that’s what it’s like with tapas!! The food was well overpriced and service abysmal! There are many much better eateries in Teignmouth and I would avoid this one like the plague!

This place was amazing. If we could of we'd have kept ordering different dishes until we'd covered the entire menu, but there's only so much you can eat in one go. This does mean we'll certainly be back. We didn't realise the restaurant is dog friendly so that may make the next visit easier. We had a group of 8 for a birthday meal, the service was great as was the food. Being a tapas-style lots-of-small-plates affair did mean dishes all arrived at different times, with the kids arriving towards the end but that was just used as an opportunity to steal the adults' dishes which the kids seemed quite happy with.
