Friendly welcome and helpful staff.
Very mean large fish.. lots of chips.
Fish dish of day… fish not good… nice sauce and potato.
Puddings ok, not terrific…..
Won’t be eating there again.
We stayed nearby and walked up the lane to the pub hoping for an evening meal, but it was all closed up and the garden was overgrown. Possibly it’s fallen victim to the lockdown? (The last review was February 2020.) It didn’t seem as if anyone was at home. A great shame for such an ancient establishment if it has gone to the wall. 😢
Beautiful location with fantastic views, sadly food and service let them down. Definitely over priced for what was produced. Not family oriented in the slightest, no kids menu at all. No atmosphere, unexperienced team with no etiquette.just wasnt worth the money at all.The food was terrible, bread was stale oh my , I could go on just don't waste your time.

The room was dirty with mould and dust in the corners of the windows and on the blind in the bathroom. Water marks on the bath made it look like it hadn't been cleaned at all. The outer windows don't close at all and the inner secondary glazing is old, dirty and not sound proof - every noise from the road outside is heard clearly.
Our first visit…..A proper breakfast…I had the large cooked, inc a very nice cuppa tea…fab cooking, so good I was not able to eat til the evening. It’s not about the size/portion of a meal it’s about how well it’s cooked and this was a meal that arrived hot, was great value and we will definitely visit again….. my wife had the poached eggs and advacado, the eggs were cooked as poached eggs should be, a perfect white and a yolk that drizzles over the plate…
Ate here Friday evening three of us had wood fired pizzas which were delicious, pleasant staff as always. On the Saturday two of us visited for lunch. We had crab sandwiches with a mixed leaf salad, they were tasty enough but £11 seems too much...
Having moved into the area, our thoughts is to support a local business.
The garden centre is great and we will continue to use for our gardening needs. Least the chap on there on our visit smiled and was friendly.
The visit to the cafe unfortunately not so good. As previous messages left on trip advisor the lack of warmth from staff members in the cafe is non existence . Tea no extra hot water meant the taste of such strong tea was disgusting why not chew on the teabag only forget the water !!
We have a lot of friends and family visitinf all year tound and we were thinking of booking the function room especially for Xmas festivities based on the atmosphere and the food which was over salted, just tepid.
Won't be booking anything.
I am in hospitality, restaurant, cafe, customer service is your business , there should be no let up no natter what your day is panning out personally, without customers you won't have a business, don't rest on your laurels.
Had drinks the night before. Friendly atmosphere, returned for Sunday Dinner. Had a wonderful Roast with all the trimmings, my better half had a great burger and salad.
Whatever the various opinions about the previous restaurant were like that is history.
The new Ivy House is superb.
Friendly waiter service, quick ordering, good prices, lovely location, airy, light, spacious, good atmosphere etc. The opening hours are similar to the Groves nursery so dinner is not an option like most garden centre restaurants.
Have been there MANY times since the opening and always enjoyed it
We had an excellent celebratory lunch. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite. Our meals were well presented and piping hot . The shell on prawns were the best I've had for ages. I'm not a chip fan but they were crisp and not greasy. Would highly recommend.
Really can’t understand the negative reviews. I’ve been a regular for over 20 years and have always found the kebabs and burgers to be spot on, staff always friendly. Great place to.
When in on a Tuesday and wanted to order pizza like we have done so many times before to be told that I couldn’t have the pizza done half and half as they don’t do half and half on a Tuesday , all I wanted was half cheese and the other half sweetcorn , but the lady said not on a Tuesday , never heard of anything so stupid ever , I have been going to here for the last 10 years but after the experience on Tuesday I will never recommend or return
Gorgeous little cafe- and big shout out to the young girls who were working there. Nothing was too much trouble. Food scrumptious- from soups to brunch and cakes- we sampled lots! Can’t wait to go back on our next visit to the area
We took a group of residents from a local care home into Hardy's today .. lovely coffee and tea great service.also provided us with some free teacakes .. The residents and the staff enjoyed it very much thankyou
We had a great dinner at the Arts Club. The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and, being a lovely summer evening, we dined outside in the pretty and surprisingly quiet courtyard.
