Do not come here for cocktails.
Got served a Mojito tasting and looking like a glass of dishwater for £9.50 .
Very misleading when the photo on the menu looked like an actual Mojito and the description said ”White rum, lime, mint and sugar”- out came lime looking fizzy drink with a bit of ice and a slice of orange. Disgusting. The Hive lager was good though!
Came here for lunch on Monday the 12th of May for lunch with the mrs and the little one. The restaurant was quite busy but Aliona and her team greeted us quickly and warmly and sat us down in a nice booth with colouring pens and book for my daughter which was a nice touch.
The food was really good when it came ( quickly and hot) and the recommendation of the calabrian hot was a great shout. Coffee and puddings were really nice, the mrs especially enjoyed the biscoff sundae. The service was friendly and attentive throughout and they were all especially good with my daughter which she loved . All in all a 5 star experience and can't wait to go back soon.
Overcrowded and staff overworked. It started well. We had drinks and main course. I went for the three courses for £26.50. Alas the desert just didn't happen. We tried desperately to call attention to order. I even tried ordering via the scan. Nothing, we patiently waited for ages. Finally we gave up and waited by the till to pay. Eventually a waiter arrived and asked if we had a reservation!!! We said no we were disgusted by the poor service and wished to leave. I gave the guy an ear bashing and said " Don't even think about a tip". He gave me my £26.50 off the bill and apologised. We have always had a good time and good service but this was awful. It will take some time before we visit again.
Went on a Tuesday lunchtime
Amazing. Just amazing.
Atmosphere was quiet but peaceful,
Staff are lovely and friendly
The katsu was more of a fresh flavourful curry sauce but am not complaining at all. Chips were salted and crunchy.
The creamy mushrooms had a lovely sauce and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly.
The pizzas are incredibly fresh and seemingly made to order. Arguably the best pub pizza I've ever had.
Overall, I wish we had something like this closer to home!
We went to fish bar as staying in Charmouth. Children's meals were awful my grandson ordered a cheese burger and chips. Burger was dry and shrivelled up looked reheated. The bun also dry he wouldn't eat any more than one mouthful. Hubby had loaded chips with pulled pork which was so cold needed reheating. My sausage was OK but chips dry and not very warm. Grandson 2 had fish which he ate but said batter was soggy. Won't be returning. Such a shame as we are in Charmouth for a yr.
Outwardly nice location, car park very small and space taken up by an indian take away van!? Spacious, characterful main bar area inside. Staff rather frosty. Waited ages for meals to arrive. Pleased to say we all enjoyed our meals when they did arrive. Nice triple cooked chips. I enjoyed my Thai red curry.
Called in at Costa this morning 20 minutes before my train was due. One very harassed looking you man was behind the counter and 13 people in the queue. Suffice to say, I didn't get my coffee this morning ☹️
We were attracted by the terrace with lovely views overlooking the sea on a sunny evening. The restaurant wasn’t yet open but we were able to order drinks and light meals, which were pretty good. We did feel that service was a little inconsistent between staff members. Drinks were quite pricey but a shame we weren’t there in time for happy hour between 5-6!
We were in the area and needed to kill a few hours so decided to stop here for brunch. So glad we did as the Lounge Eggs with Bacon were amazing, perfectly cooked poached eggs and bacon and the hollandaise was delicious. My husband also loved the freshly squeezed orange juice and said he could definitely tell it was freshly squeezed. We used the order at table facility and found it very simple to use. The food and drinks came promptly and the interaction from the server was good, friendly but not overbearing. We enjoyed our experience and will definitely try our local Lounge in the future.
Arrived at 13:25hrs for lunch. The restaurant closes at 14:00hrs and to our amazement we were refused a table, being told they were closed!
The attitude was very unhelpful and unsympathetic.
The hospitality industry keeps saying it is struggling with NICS increases and minimum wages going up, but with an attitude like this it will be Longs own downfall if they go bust.
Easter holidays too! Shame on you.
after a wind blown swim in the sea we decided we wanted some comforting food and hot drinks - initially sat right on the front of the patio and the lady in charge was there in a mo with menus and a brush to wipe sand off the table top - we decided it was still to windy there, so moved back against cafe wall. Orders quickly taken - food wasn't fast, but my golly when it came it was fresh and delicious - from bacon sandwiches to american pancakes and bacon - all piping hot and full of flavour.

We have been driving past this place for 2 years and finally decided to go and check it out. It’s Sunday early afternoon and we were the only ones in there. But, the food was absolutely beautiful and the owner was super helpful, friendly and attentive. We did order way too much food for two people, but we could not fault it. We will most definitely be back.
All this food + 2 soft drinks was £84. We will also have leftovers now for at least two days. We ordered off a main menu.
A delightful and delicious evening all round.
From the very warm welcome, fab atmosphere, to the food, the FOOD ! was amazing, perfect soufflés, tasty mushrooms, amazing lamb dishes and scrumptious desserts. Good drink options and brilliant service.
What a lucky village Loders is to have this amazing team running the local.
We will definitely be back.
Special shout out to Suki.
I came to meet some friends for some drinks and thought it wise to leave my car in the car park rather than drive home after a few drinks. I came back to my car with a note threatening me to be clamped if I leave my car there again. Well no chance of that as I will not be spending my money in this s hole. What a way to promote drink driving and repeat business. Out of business by Christmas on that basis
