I came to meet some friends for some drinks and thought it wise to leave my car in the car park rather than drive home after a few drinks. I came back to my car with a note threatening me to be clamped if I leave my car there again. Well no chance of that as I will not be spending my money in this s hole. What a way to promote drink driving and repeat business. Out of business by Christmas on that basis

Wonderful selection to choose from on the menu. Food was awesome, expertly cooked and such a treat. Welcoming and friendly hosts. Can’t wait to come back.

Turned away from an evening meal as a couple as had an Armani tracksuit on. No chance of going in. Very rude and arrogant. Looked like a party pub people about drinking and eating. Sent straight out. Baring in mind been in before with my dirty work clothes. ???????

My friends and I visited Skipper's after hearing about their lovely Caribbean food from a colleague. Booking was odd, sounded like the restaurant would be full from the phone call, but it wasn't. There was room on the car park for both our cars upon entry. The bar area was packed with a large group of workers, so getting a drink was hard work with one member of staff (owner I believe) doing all the drinks/food/phone calls. We were unsure how to order food (bar/table etc), so went to the bar to order. No table number on ours, so that was confusing. As others have said, the place was freezing due to the door being open. Turns out you can just shut it... simple. The food was bang on, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. They even gave our dog a treat to eat while we had our food! With some polishing - more staff, a menu online (even a photo on FB would suffice), a clearer way of ordering, front door on an auto closer - this would be a really good eatery. I will be back, especially on 'wings Wednesday'!

Met with friends for an evening meal, the food was excellent however the guy who runs the pub is extremely rude. He has absolutely no customer skills and it completely ruined what would have been a great evening. We won’t be returning unfortunately

Group of six, and we all enjoyed the excellent roasts. Friendly staff with Rudi leading the front of house team and Rachel the superb chef. Two minor points: a little warmer please, as our old bones feel the cold! Also, some saturation of the staff at times, with Izzy struggling to provide drinks and take food orders. Highly recommended.

The food is good here, well cooked and good value but it’s spoiled by the cold conditions. They have the front door open and no heating so ,in February, you have to keep your coat on. There is no warm and welcoming feeling and the staff are not much help. As it’s on a busy road, not only do you get cold wind but traffic noise and fumes. A shame.

Ive been here many times since there’s a new owner. The food is my favorite in the area especially the dirty fries and the brisket mac n cheese. The cocktails are great. The staff are friendly and the deals are good too. Can’t fault it. They did a DJ event at Christmas and I can see it was the best night out in Sherborne

Went for Sunday lunch last weekend. The food was great and the service and welcome superb. Good pint of Guinness too. Recommend.

We went there last night and shared the most glorious gravy-soaked, intensely savoury poutine from the dirty fries section of the extensive menu, along with chicken & waffles and tempura prawns. All were excellent, but it's the poutine I went to bed dreaming of, woke up craving and for which I'm dragging my husband back at the weekend.

Just had the best Sunday roast ever. Food, service and surroundings cannot be faulted. My sort of place, no fuss, friendly and the best grub ever.

We stopped in today for a drink and lunch. The staff are always super friendly and go out of their way to provide top notch service. The pub is clean and has a really comfortable vibe. We ordered a roast chicken ciabatta and a New York deli sandwich for lunch. Both were superb - really well presented and delicious. We would definitely recommend a visit here if you're local or just passing through.

Called in on our way to Dorset. Lovely, friendly staff. Very quiet Sunday lunchtime. Excellent menu. Good choice of drinks. Food was delicious. Pulled pork ciabatta and chips. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

Food delicious exceptional service from all especially William. What a great young entrepreneur. So glad we called in by the off chance and had a great lunch.

We went here for lunch today as it is in walking distance from where we live. There is no way of finding out what’s on the menu online which is annoying. This place keeps changing hands and the current owners have only been here for a couple of months. The website in Skippers name doesn’t work. The menu was limited, mainly burgers, hot dogs and a few other bits, mainly glorified junk food. There’s no pub classics or steaks. I had a croque monsieur which was very good and fries which were undercooked and flabby. My husband had the nachos which was a big portion but mainly soggy tortilla chips and not a lot of chilli. We waited ages to get served then finally were told to order at the bar. There was nothing on the menu to tell you this. The prices were quite good especially as Sherborne tends to be expensive. The place has potential but in our opinion has a long way to go. We won’t be returning due to the very limited menu. There’s lots of places nearby which are better

First visit, really good vibe, really busy, will definitely return for more food soon, couldn't fault it... All 3 of us had burgers, very well presented, and tasty..

Great food and a nice homely feel. Definitely recommend this for a bite to eat, cocktail and chill out time. Friendly bar staff with good knowledge of cocktails and tasty food.

First time visit , warm welcome by the landlord, excellent food, bacon and brie sandwiches freshly prepared, including gluten free bread. Good sized portion and very tasty. Highly recommended, will visit again when I the area.

We enjoyed our Sunday roast lunch - perfect beef and accompanying vegetables, delightful staff and just the right atmosphere. No airs and graces - what more can you ask for? We wanted for nothing.
