Delicious Chinese food with quick service, and the portions are generous.

A really good restaurant with a variety of tasty good value dishes for all tastes. Sadly, not many other customers but a really nice place.

We were delighted with its warm ambiance with charming red lanterns. The food is delicious, and the overall experience is inviting and enjoyable.

I’m currently sat here inside the restaurant, having not even finished my meal yet and I am so so so impressed with this restaurant! The food (House Special Curry with Steamed Rice) is absolutely 10/10! Prices are reasonable as stated in other reviews and my food and drink were served to me within 10 minutes of ordering. The staff here are so welcoming, lovely lady at the bar and attending customers, and a lovely fella who served me my food. This place may be busy sometimes and get overwhelmed which is a shame, but this being my first visit I am extremely impressed! We are the only ones in here sat down having a meal and only two people have been in to pick up an order since we sat down which is a real shame. Lovely place would highly recommend!

Went for a take away... delicious! Will definitely be back. Singapore Rice Noodle and prawns ginger with spring onion and some great prawn crackers!!

The chain main was really good , but the roast duck in orange sauce…. No no no NO !!!! 😓 use to be one of my favourite dishes

First time I have been here and the place was absolutely freezing no heating on at all so that spoilt it from the beginning

Used to be our GO-TO Chinese. However this time we collected our usual order and it tasted like a whole bucket of salt was poured into each dish! We tried to eat it but all left it and phoned the restaurant to express our disappointment. He said we had to drive back to the restaurant with the food for a refund! Terrible service. Why should I have to make TWO trips on my Friday because you served disgusting food? So disappointing and won’t be returning!!!

Eat in, all you can eat is £26 per person including children (11 yrs-old in this case). Service was very patchy and when we eventually did get some starters lots were missing. We told them this and had to wait ages for some more and still some missing. The main courses also had dishes missing but we'd lost the will to live by this point and gave up. Restaurant was very cold. To be fair though, the food we did get was excellent and has always been good when we've had a takeaway.

Stumbled on here by accident but won't look back food is great and realy tasty, will be are main Chinese from now on

After a 1 hr 20min wait our inedible food arrived. It tasted like the chef had tipped a whole tin of chilli powder on everything. I called to complain and was told that the chef would call back in 10 minutes…………. still waiting.

We had been going here for many years, but after pandemic we started going back. We had a bad experience here a few months ago, but thought we would give it a second chance with friends for a NYE meal before going out. What a disappointment. Restaurant was cold, everyone was sitting with theirs coats and jumpers on. Waited 20 mins just to get our drinks ordered!! Starters came out eventually, but only half of what we ordered as there was 5 of us, we all couldn't have a bit of everything. So ordered a second starters and we waited 2 hrs 15 mins before we decided that we were not going to wait no more.....by the time we got to mains we would seeing the new year in there! So we cut our losses and left, hungry! Which you don't expect on an all you can eat buffet! Noticed out of the 10 tables there with ppl, only 2 had food on them! Not enough staff to cope with one of the busiest days of the year! Sadly second chance blown, we will never go back. Such a shame as it has potential.

Extremely disappointed, took almost 1.5 hours for my collection order to be ready after being told 20 mins when ordering... Sat in the restaurant being ignored by the staff having to almost shout to get one of them to give an update, phone ringing off the hook with a female member of staff stood right next to the phone doing nothing.... I waited in the restaurant for 50 mins, being told "10 more mins, 5 more mins, 3 more mins" from the start, very clearly they forgot about my order as well as many many other people, during my 50 minutes sat waiting, a full table walked out stating they'd been waiting for over an hour for starters and this wasn't the first time, speaking to other people waiting for a takeaway it was mentioned they had also been waiting over an hour. The food is honestly disappointing too, below standard for a even for a mediocre Chinese, food is tasteless and boring, "fresh" chips taste like they've been sat for hours and then reheated. Really not worth the cost or the wait. Very disappointed I will NOT be returning.

Not sure how this place has as many stars as it does. Totally misleading. Took 1 hour and 10 minutes to COLLECT the takeaway, when after ordering it, it said 17 minutes until it would be ready. The place was rammed and everyone was waiting that exact same time frame for their own takeaways and even sit down meals. After overhearing someone else’s conversation it seems to be a regular occurrence with this place. The food was just meh and a complete waste of time and money after waiting for as long as we did. Hardly any flavour, dry and the prawn crackers were way too thick.

Booked in advance but weren't seated for a while as the table wasn't clean. Delivery driver had to clean the table for them. After about an hour and a half of waiting we finally got about 1/10th of the starters we had ordered. Wontons had basically no filling, everything was very varied in temperature, a lot of it was cold. The atmosphere was abysmal and everyone seemed very upset at the lack of food and service. After almost 2 hours we had some duck pancakes and were met with the news that there was no more available. We had been given about 1/4 duck for 8 people. We essentially got piled with 4 plates of ribs, chicken skewers, prawn toast and spring rolls. Multiple times we had to wait upwards of 20 minutes just for drinks to arrive and it took about 30 minutes between each platter. The staff were apologetic but I've never had such a poor dining experience. Allegedly the kitchen were staffed by 2 people, serving multiple dine-in tables and also doing takeaway. After a poor first visit, I won't be coming back to Misfortune Palace.

My second visit. Again superb food at a reasonable price, and the owner is a very friendly man. As before, very friendly and welcoming. It was a Monday lunch, so not busy. Excellent and considerate service, and extremely tasty and good quality food at a moderate price. Go there - you won't be disappointed.

Good, authentic food, quick service and varied menu.

Thought the food was pretty good with the exception of the king prawn wantons which had a tiny bit of prawn in. On the food alone this place could be amazing but it looks very tired and old with bad lighting and cheap furniture that has seen better days. Numerous things on the menu not available due to not having the ingredients. Will come back for the food. Wish they'd do it up.

Best Chinese I have had in ages the food was excellent staff very good and attentive we ordered what we wanted even though they were running a buffet the food was with us in 10 mins after ordering fast service and lovely food and staff will be going again

Found this restaurant by chance while out on a drive. What a little gem. Food was great and portion size was perfect. Lovely staff and very friendly.

Lovely hidden gem with delicious food and very welcoming and friendly staff. The food tasted authentic and home made. Great selection of dishes and great price. We received our meals quickly, and the food was nice and hot. The rotating center table made sharing fun and easy. Thoroughly recommend visiting.

Food very hot and quick delivery. Have been ordering from here for quite some time now and have never had a bad experience.

The food is alright as for Chinese. The staff however we all felt were a bit unwelcoming. The waiter seemed iffy whenever we added another order and they have to check to see if you’ve finished your food. The portions are very small.

Love coming here, the set menu is very reasonably priced for how many dishes you can order. The starters in particular are amazing. Tables are large and suitable for groups. Sharing food is easy with the lazy susans.

Excellent food.But sadly very poorly lit steps from car park to front door and my 87 year old mum who thankfully is very spritly missed the last step and took a nasty tumble.She was badly shaken but no broken bones .needless to say we didn't stay so mum still hasn't experienced the whole meal experience that you do so well.Just get the lights sorted!As well as the heating.

Food good but really cold inside

Wouldn't recommend this place anymore. Used to be extremely good. Food was cold,service was non existent. We had to walk up to the bar between each course to tell them we were ready for the next. Very rude too, except for one female member of staff.

We have been going here as a family a few times a year. Food is always good, service always with a smile. Today we tried the Thai pork 😋 and satay prawns and were not disappointed.

The person on the phone is always polite and friendly. The food is really good, and the price is fair too. Very happy (and stuffed).

We went last night for birthday meal All I can say is wow ,service was first class, lovely and clean , Food was best we have ever eaten Service first class , We need to support to keep it going As hard times ahead . 100% recommend.

Ordered through their website and paid for my order. I chased up my meal and they couldn't find my order.

Went to have a meal here for my grandsons birthday. It was his choice. He was so excited all he wanted was the prawns. We ordered two different ones but they only brought out one.We had to ask a couple of times eventually the prawns arrived.

Out of town location, awkward shared parking with car sale forecourt. Poor service, delayed food delivery in restaurant due to concentration being put on mass takeaway service. Cost a little excessive considering poor table service. Under staffed however food when eventually bought to table was reasonable and hot. Some ordered items missing too. Hope things improve once covid state recovers.

In need of some tlc. Strong smell of damp in the restaurant. Food quality good but was either served cold or went cold very quickly. Need hotplates!

Ordered almost 3 hours ago and was told delivery maximum of 1 hour. Have rung multiple times since and been told no deliveries in kitchen but they had a busy night and it should be here already or very soon, last update was can't tell you anything as I don't know where it is but should be there soon hopefully. How cold is my food going to be if it left the restaurant over two hours ago? The food is always lovely, but this isn't the first time this has happened to me and this is the longest time with lack of explanation even when I asked if someone could check that the driver is ok. I wouldn't have ordered for delivery if it said 3 hours wait and would have chosen elsewhere. No where to contact the owners by email or on Facebook, have instead had to complain to foodhub

Not bad at all, the special fried rice was a little oily and needed a lot more meat, but overall pretty good.

DO NOT USE!!!! we picked up a menu on Thursday from this restaurant. Ordered on Saturday and they charged us extra for every item. When we questioned they said it was a new menu and all prices had gone up. They also missed items we had ordered. Apalling attitude. Won't use again. Should be zero stars.

Excelent chineze food, tasty crispy, beyond expectation. Good traditional table service.

The food was OK, not enough sauces however. Service was slow, I could have happily ordered another drink had they asked. Quite expensive also for what we got.

Really bad experience. Will never return there. when reported coca cola flat to waiter, I witnessed him return to the bar and poor back into bottle via a funnel to re serve to somebody else. Starter platter for 4 is a joke at over £20. Chicken sweet & Sour balls - I pressed with me fingers and fat filled the bowl the were in, also they were over cooked and un edible. when daughters birthday cake came out, sparklers not lit and I found waiter rather rude. This is the first EVER bad google review I have left, but feel they should address these issues urgently to save their business and possibly warn others before they waste their hard earned money there.

Forth time we have visited, love it.. would recommend if you are looking for fresh cooked to order Chinese. The buffet selection was very excellent and better than choosing from pots left under heat lamps.

Along the duel carriage way to yeovil from sherborne, half way along and the fortune palace stands...on entering the oriental decor has an elegance, not over done... The menu, so much to choose from, also a 'eat all you can' menu, for a set price... The dishes 3of us chose were. delivered looking fresh and appetizing... You certainly get your monies worth, full and satisfyingly tasty... Will look forward to visiting again.

We (2) visited Sunday lunch & were the only customers! Place was lifeless and slow paced. Lots of cobwebs & toilets dirty. Food was OK when it finally arrived but not plentiful. Service was slow with not much interaction :( Wish we drove on and not investigated further when we first arrived, as the place looked shut down & turned into a car sales site. Prices also different to online advertising! Not good!!! Won't be back for sure!

Best Chinese had in a long time the shredded lamb starter is amazing , and duck in plumb and chicken sweet and sour fantastic. Will go again soon

Very good! My starter arrived within 5 mins of ordering, tasty spare ribs - meaty and not all gristle. Salt and pepper squid and prawn fried rice to follow, both really good! Great service!

The buffet is so good, good price, and the food was lovely! The service is also really good and the waiter was really kind and nice to us. I would recommend this place if you want to have a nice meal, with a nice atmosphere.

Right...First off the way in which the food was packaged in the take away form, left grease dripping from the bag which is disgusting. The chicken balls had 50% air to their name. The chips were microwaved or just completely stale and cold. To top this all off I am infuriated by the rice which may well have been not cooked at all...Therefor you are getting a 1 star rating i’m afraid, thank you for your service.

Food was fine but service quite rushed and staff seemingly a little abrupt. Whole meal spoiled by finding hairs in one of the main dishes so sent the rest back to kitchen and left. Not sure I'd go back despite being given a 'not-so-generous' 10% discount.

been to the fortune palace many times and have always found it to serve excellent food and the service was always fantastic, but this time we were very disappointed by the service. there were 6 of us, two of whom ordered the same dish, but only one dish was served. we asked the waiter where the other one was and we were told to share the one dish that had arrived. there were only three tables occupied yet we could not get the waiter's attention. first time I have ever visited this place and never left a well earned tip, as the waiter was appalling and clearly didn't want to be there
