A brilliant day learning the skills to make laminated dough for pastries such as croissant and pain au chocolates. Everything was explained really clearly by Steve and we had a lovely lunch tasting some of the shop made products. Lots of fun and well worth the time. Will definitely do one of the other courses soon. The final products were delicious if a little rustic but that skill will come with practice.
We had the best ploughman’s lunch we have ever had. It was delicious. We had beef that didn’t look like plastic and some tasty cheeses. We also had some really good chutneys, not just Branston pickle. Would really recommend the ploughman’s.
This was all served by friendly, helpful staff.
Every time we visit these tearooms the choices are very limited. The only thing you can rely upon is Red Pepper and tomato soup £6.10. Do they ever offer any other soup flavour? What if you don’t like red peppers?
The waitress was really polite and efficient and coped well when somebody is front of me, an impatient and perhaps a little rude customer was speaking. I was impressed. The hot chocolate was good. I went there to meet with a tutor and, although there was a friendly buzz of chatter and sounds, it was quiet enough for me to be able to listen to the tutor. Thank you.
We popped in for food after a trip to the cinema next door. Lovely warm greeting, great advice and opportunity to taste the sauces before making a decision. We had halloumi wrap, pork wrap & chicken wrap. All totally delicious. We will DEFINITELY be back! Thank you 😊
Nice range of local and international and deli foods including takeaway breads and pastries, BUT - the dearest bread in Britain at £6.25 for a sourdough loaf! Other local places eg the Town Mill sell better bread for £3.80.
This pub is simply fantastic!. The lady behind the bar is so warm and friendly and really makes you want to return. The food is wonderful, really good value and super tasty. We now go to Sherborne just to eat here.
I can’t recommend it enough !!!!!
Have recently moved into the area and thought I'd give Brewhouse a go. Have visited other premises in the past and I liked their beer selection and food.
Went with my dog at around 2 o'clock and glad to see that dogs were welcome! Greeted with a Burger, fries and pint deal for £12.95 Monday-Friday (hell yeah). Service was very fast and friendly. Beer was lovely with many others to choose from! Burger was brilliant quality with a lovely chargrilled taste.
For a burger, fries and a pint for £12.95 can't go wrong!
Will certainly visit again as only 1/2 mile walk from my house. Thank you Brewhouse will come again!
Of all the Pizza Express establishments I've attended, this one is my favourite. Efficient staff, clean and tidy, easy access are some of it's main pros. Even though there is a regular turnover of staff, they all seem happy and welcoming, I've not seen a grumpy one yet!! There are two doors to the restaurant and its a lottey which one is in use, but hey, if you are a regular customer it's a fun game when you arrive to see if you guessed correct.
Wow! Best pasty I’ve ever had and at a reasonable price too. So nice to see a family run store with children helping their mom this made the bakery for us. The coffees were reasonably priced and lovely and the cakes all homemade! Little gem will definitely be returning.
I’ve waited 6 weeks to write this review. It’s considered because I know Hospitality has been difficult since Covid.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate our 30th anniversary - my partner had chosen it over other restaurants near us in Dorset.
It was a fabulous stormy day with great views from the dining room.
We were welcomed and given a perfect table - ‘sticky’ - but never mind it’s a big day!
Had a lovely glass of English sparkling and then our starters arrived. Mine had congealed food on it, clearly left over from a previous service. The server did a double take too but decided to ignore it…and so did I. (I know that, at this point I should have said something but I just didn’t want to ruin our meal. And, by the way, I don’t think it should be up to the customer to complain, the staff should apologise and replace immediately.) We ordered another glass of wine which just didn’t turn up until we asked again at least 20 mins later.
Small things are now accumulating...
This is how an expensive meal goes from poor to pitiful.
Our mains came (we didn’t mind that it was very slow - it was a Sunday and we were there to enjoy the moment). The additional vegetables were just rock hard. My fish had some unrecognisable ‘innards’ - not roe.
We had fully intended to stay for pudding, coffee, dessert wine etc etc but we just looked at each other (30 years of dining out at great restaurants together) and decided to call it a day. We were so deflated…
So disappointing.
To the restaurant: please take notice of our comments. We want lovely restaurants to go to in Dorset - think about what you’re being told in good faith and up your game.
