The best restaurants in South Somerset South West

What a fabulous evening! We had poppadoms, starters, mains, sides and coffees and drinks. Couldn't fault any of them! The service to start with was rushed as we arrived at the peak takeaway rush time but we quickly settled into the evening and everything came out in a timely manner allowing a break between courses which I prefer. The food was lovely and we were a larger group of 7 and they offered us a few added extras. I agree with the lady below they could do with an extra pair of hands but maybe they were short staffed, it didn't effect our evening, thank you Viceroy

We booked a table for Mothering Sunday for a group of eleven adults at this lovely pub. The staff were amazing and coped well with all our orders which included gluten free, vegan and vegetarian dishes. The sunday roast was superb with a great selection of vegetables and choices of meat. A big shout out to Sarah and Rachel for all their help together with the cheerful and patient waiting staff who served us our meal. Many thanks to you all.

The food is simply lovely. Beautifully presented. Fresh and extremely good value. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Everywhere is clean and tidy. Lovely atmosphere. Have visited a few times and have enjoyed each and every one.

The landlady of this pub is extremely rude and a really nasty person! I parked in this pubs car park as I was attending an event close by and couldn’t find any parking anywhere. I unfortunately missed a sign reading patrons only to park here as it was dark and there was no light above it. I wasn’t expecting to be parked there long and was planning on popping in there for a drink afterwards. Unfortunately the event ran on for longer than I had thought it would and as I have my young daughter with me, I didn’t have time to pop in there as I had to get her home. The landlady blocked the car park exit and started shouting abuse at me through my window. When I opened the window and thanked her for allowing me to park there and apologise for not seeing the sign she called me a s**g and a b***h. My daughter was upset about this and was scared of the woman shouting abuse! I am absolutely appalled by the behaviour this woman displayed. I will now never visit this establishment and will be taking it further. There was absolutely no reason for this disgusting and intimidating behaviour and I’m surprised ratings aren’t lower for this pub.

My husband and I frequently visit many Nero coffee shops But out of all the many we do Yeovil shop the staff are very rude unfriendly not helpful at all We will not be visiting it again even tho it's most local to us

This pub is very quirky. They offer a limited range of beers, but this is cider country. They offer very good fresh home-made pizzas at a good price: would happily return for another It still has a skittle alley. This is functional and could do with some tidying.

Great place for a meal, drink or coffee. Great views, value and service.

Unfortunately waited over 2 hours after ordering to receive our food. The food itself was very good when it arrived just a bit cold and Tom the Delivery driver was great and very helpful.

Curry’s are consistently excellent and good value. Staff are friendly and wine is not overpriced

My first time here on the recommendation of friends and I was not disappointed. They offer "pub food" basically and in recent years, this term has lost some of its old charm because a lot of pubs are selling poorly cooked, overpriced food prepared by cooks who just don't care. Not here. We went on one of their midweek "special" nights and on our particular night it was steak. What any reasonable person wants is a nice meal, prepared well and sensibly priced and these people deliver that in "spades"! Superb quality steak, cooked to perfection and sizeable portions produced efficiently by friendly staff. Top that with a good pint and a wine deal and it all added up to a memorable experience. Thank you guys.

I always thought I made a brilliant chilli then I tried Gary’s honestly the nicest chilli I’ve ever had!! Thanks Gary!! We often stop in for a drink and sometimes a sunday lunch but hardly on a week night, only stopped in for a drink on the way home and Gary had been cooking his chilli, let me try some and it was amazing! Can’t wait to go back for the curry night between Christmas and new year, best save us a seat Gary!

Not satisfied at all. The worst food that i had in my life. Chicken not cooked properly. Even they are giving free of cost I don't want to eat anymore.

Phoned up to place an order and based on the order the person on the phone realised that we might be vegetarian or vegan, so she checked and then let us know which dishes they would make changes to. When we got there she was super friendly too. When we got back home it was a treat to find the food was as good as the service had been. Thanks, we’ll be ordering again next time we come to Yeovil for the cinema again

Absolutely beautiful meal,,Stilton pork. Waitress service was amazing,,red hair lady think her name was julie,,so lovely and polite and nothing was any trouble,, tho wasn't so impressed with a dark hair lady behind the bar,,very abrupt and when asked twice for dessert order she wasn't very helpful at all ( again the lovely waitress sorted us out, also had to asked twice for the bill to the lady at the bar.. the pub is amazing , absolutely impressive food, would 100% recommend you to anyone

Food arrived tepid at best. Waited the 45 minutes we were advised. Unable to reheat as it would be unsafe. I telephoned to let them know there was a problem with the food but this was strongly defended by a staff member. I was told to return the food to them and they would replace the order. I have a spinal injury, and the last thing I wanted was to drive down town, which was why I requested delivery in the first place. We are weekly. Regular customers who have now deleted your number from our contacts. What a shame that businesses can just ‘throw away’ their custom.
