First time ordering takeaway from this restaurant and I must say we were heavily disappointed. We placed our first order on 05/07/2024 and didn’t hear anything back re our complaints so have decided to leave and honest and open review. Took 2 hours to deliver and when we called the restaurant to ask where our order was they stated it was 5-10 minutes away. It then took a further 30 minutes for us to receive our food. Totalling in 2.5 hours to receive a meal, when we were told the waiting time would be between 30 minutes to an hour. When we eventually received our food the order was wrong. I ordered a prawn rogan which was cold and my partner ordered a CHICKEN korma. He received a prawn korma. Not only was this the completely wrong order but he is also severely allergic to prawns and was left with no dinner, we’re just extremely lucky he noticed before he tried it. For a business to not be taking extreme caution around one of the top 14 KNOWN allergens, it’s disgusting and there food hygiene and health & safety should be re assessed. The only positive to this whole ordeal was that the person who picked up the phone call was polite, hence the 1 star. All in all don’t order.

I ordered a chicken korma but received a prawn korma. I’m severely allergic to shellfish so wasn’t able to eat the food and I wasn’t gonna order again because it was already 2 hours late. I was very disappointed in this.

Had the wrong Oder and had to wait over an hour for it

Excellent curry house, excellent food and service. Rubel made us feel very welcome and recommended some great food. I would highly recommend this establishment.

food was good quality except for the bahjis which were cold and soggy. ordered at 7.15 and not delivered until 9pm, even then the driver wasn't listening to what I was saying to I had to go out and find him. I don't understand how it could be so late on a Tuesday!

Extra mint sauce paid for left out for the 2nd time, overall food fabulous and delivery always on time

Food was ordered at 6.10pm and was supposed to be delivered between 6.55-7.15 then a message came saying it would be 8.20pm it finally turned up at 9pm far too late in the evening too eat

over 2 hours from ordering to receiving. offered a £2 refund 🙄. food was cold when arrived.

We’ve had takeaway from Viceroy on several occasions and would highly recommend. The food is always hot and fresh, the staff are extremely helpful and polite, especially Rubel who is always happy to recommend new dishes. The best Indian food in the area.

My family and I enjoyed some truly authentic dishes today for Sunday lunch. We have recently moved from Surrey to Somerset and the food we experienced today was exceptional. We will be going again 😊🙏🏾❤️✝️

Food was very late, although the quilt is nice enough, the path is curry was only half the tray full. A little disappointed with that as is was £14 and feel it was half a portion. Apart from that is tasted great

Whole experience was awful - delivery was 2 hours late and when I asked where it was I was shouted at down the phone. Food was very average. Wouldn’t recommend.

Food was average but the service was terrible. Waiter was rude, asking "what you want?", and threw the bill on the table at the end. Also the phone kept going off with a really loud and annoying ringtone.

Delivery is always on the slow side, but you anticipate that when you order. Food was absolutely top drawer. Generous portions, piping hot and a real depth of flavour.

Have just had one of the best currys in quite a while! Delivered on time, exactly how we wanted it. Succulent freshly cooked chicken. I could taste all the spices. Perfectly cooked!!

Their Slay the Dragon is one the the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I had no idea what the Mushroom Delight was, but it was absolutely beautiful and a real delight to eat. The Meat Samosas are so moreish with the dip. Washed down with the San Anders Merlot was just what the doctor ordered after spending much of the day in hospital. All together, it was light, fantastically seasoned and oh so tasty. Delivery was bang on time, Viceroy certainly know how to prepare, cook and deliver excellent food. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Food is good but delivery service is shocking. £3 refund for food delivered 2 hours late is poor customer service.

Fantastic food, really enjoyed all the flavours! We bought the 4 people set menu, a little too much food but it was all delicious.

I have been waiting for over an hour and a half and when we called them to ask the person answering the phone was really rude and had a bad attitude when I asked when it was going to take. would not recommend ordering from them. Delivery driver was really nice tho

Fantastic garlic mushrooms, Rum Joy Puri and rice. Thanks for the free bonus Bombay aloo. A stunning meal washed down with a glass of San Anders Merlot. I highly recommend Viceroy. Thank you guys.

Delicious food. One small criticism though. I ordered the tandoori mixed grill, but the king prawns were missing. Other than that, it was a delicious meal.

Oh boy! Do Viceroy know how to cook meat and blend flavours. Washed down with a glass of their San Andres Merlot it was perfect Wow, I will be definitely ordering again. Great and friendly delivery and at a price. Thank you. I highly recommend them.

Unexpected service really disgusting

Our usual Indian takeout was closed so gave Viceroy a go. Never again. The curries were tasteless. Mine had so much water I had to pick the chicken out in the end and leave the rice that was now looking like a rice soup. Very disappointed.

Very good food let down by miserable service and warm beer. Not overly busy the waiters hardly engaged and we’re fairly slow, warm bottles of Cobra beer detracted from a tasty end enjoyable meal, shame really because this could be such an excellent restaurant and thronging with a little more attention to detail. The walls brag of Awards from a decade ago and it wouldn’t take much to recreate those Award winning bygone days.

Please try and provide original dishes if you're charging.I see British curry awards nomination until 2014.can imagine why you are not there for the last 10 years.

We are regular customers of the Viceroy and love their food. However, the last 3 times my wife ordered the Chicken Tikka Zizzler, it came with no salad or Mint dip. This time, I ordered and paid for 2 extra Mint Dips, but neither they nor the salad were part of the order. With everythng else being so perfect, this is a very strange regular disappointment.

Used to be a regular here but gave it a wide birth as standards dropped. Sad to say they remain low. Food was an hour late, cold and soggy. Star clear.

Nothing to fault really - very good quality food - though we would have liked a little something thrown in free, like some poppadoms perhaps.

The cheese nan - the cheese was just slapped between it folded not inside the actual bread , other then that good meal

Found lovely as normal, but sadly, the service was on the poor side. No coffee offered (not that the coffee machine was usable considering the amount of stuff stored all over it) and no deserts offered either. We have been going for years and this was the first time we had such poor service

It’s not the first time they have forgotten my ice cream, so only 4 stars. Food that was delivered was nice, but could have been hotter.

Ordered some old favourites and they were just as food, if not better, than ever! Would be good to see less plastic packaging but other than that I can't fault! Hot, tasty, not salty, well presented and plenty of king prawns in the chittagong chilli. Great work Viceroy!

Bland and potatoes were waxy and not thoroughly cooked. Was a bit disappointed. Probably wouldn’t order again.

We have been going here for a few years. We go here at lunchtime because it’s one of the few that actually open at lunchtime. I don’t understand the poor reviews because we’ve always had excellent service and the food is fine. We both lived in London for years and have eaten at some of the worlds best Indian restaurants. This isn’t as good as them but then it doesn’t charge their prices. The reviews on here are are quite polarised but I have noticed that seems to be an issue with this type of restaurant generally.

Ordered Garlic and chilli chicken last night. The plastic tub it came in was not even half full. To make it worse, Ive had food poisoning. The chicken was either bad or not cooked through! Still getting major stomach cramps now (next day). Never again!!

The food was ready before the nominated collection time, which was positive and the staff were polite when collecting the food...however the quality was not up to scratch. Really tough chicken tikka starter, watery chicken tikka masala and unfortunately the naan bread was cold. I've eaten inside the restaurant previously and thought it was great but this one really wasn't a good experience in terms of food quality.

Rubbish food arrived cold and was late!! Won’t be ordering again

Ordered a takeaway last weekend at 19.15, after several phone calls it arrived at 22.25 beyond a joke, why didn't they say when I ordered it that they were busy, I will never be ordering from them every again

We found the Viceroy on our first visit to Yeovil and keep going back because we love the food. The usual selection of starters and mains with some great chef specials. That's my plate after my Xakuti curry 😂🤣

We had starters and a main course each with a couple of drinks and it didn’t cost an arm and leg. The food was fresh, well presented, and very tasty, very delicious. The staff were pleasant and attentive but not overwhelming.

What can I say? Amazing food, good timing, and Tom the delivery driver would scale MOUNTAINS to get the food here in proper order. Perfection.

The chicken in the curries isn't proper chicken it's the stuff filled with salt water, the poppadoms are tracing paper thin and break as soon as you touch them, there was only about 6 pieces of chicken in both the curries and had to wait a hour over the delivery time for the arrival of our food terrible

Have had a number of takeaways from here over the years and they've always been great. Had another fantastic one for my birthday, and mentioned that it was my birthday on the notes for delivery at payment. Received a bottle of wine and even a card to say congrats, was really surprised and impressed! A great restaurant with delicious food which has gone above and beyond my expectations, huge thanks.

I ordered from this restaurant before and it was a hour late but I gave them another chance and again they were late by over an hour won't make the same mistake again even when I rang the restaurant to find out where the delivery was they were useless. And food was cold because of the poor delivery timing and staff were rude.

The first time I’ve been disappointed in viceroy and it’s made me think twice with ordering from them again, 2 and a half hours after ordering it finally gets delivered. The butter chicken sauce was so oily, chips weren’t very hot when it got here and the Bhajis were really greasy. Not a happy customer this evening!

We pre ordered a larger delivery. The delivery arrived 45 minutes late, items were missing, and the food was cold. When I called the restaurant, because the food was already 30 mins late at this point. I was advised it was on its way. Asked for an estimated time, but the man hung up. The food was over 45 minutes late.
