raj cuisine in South Somerset

I’ve been using this takeaway for about 18 months and thought I’d check the reviews. All seem bad due to some delivery issues but I have to say, the food is absolutely superb. I’ve never had any delivery issues but it’s a top top Indian. Well recommended.

Really dissapointed with Raj Cuisine. I have ordered from here a number of times and been so happy with the quality of the food. I’ve always called and ordered. This evening I went on their website to check the menu options and saw an offer they have, it clearly advertises 15% discount for collection. I called to place my order and said it’s for collection can I please have the discount, it was refused. The woman on the phone said it was 15% discount for ordering online. The website definitely does not say that. I’ve taken a screen shot and will probably report this for false advertising. I ordered somewhere else instead.

Nice food, but portions are smaller than they used to be.

not as good as previous good orders. much smaller portions, not as hot or tasty. Maybe because it's the weekend so are busier?

not the same as it use to be no flavour dry sauce dry chicken no dips/extras. gave it one more go tonight but disappointed in the quality

Mediocre at best! The food was bland , I had a long hair in my tikka masala, but apart from picking that out the rest of the food was pretty bland and nothing special Won’t be using again

Food arrived cold and missing items...phoned to inquire after it was 20+ mins late.. took another 35 + mins after being told it was put for delivery.

We have used this restaurant twice now as a takeaway The food is excellent, delivery on time. Recommend thoroughly.

Onion bahji was only 3 small one,s in bag and had no chopped Onion,s with that yellow sauce. Has it all changed. But all in all it was hot and delicious 😋. Happy new yr

While the food was quite tasty I had to warm it all as found it cold, and 30p for a single use carrier bag !! Rather steep

Do not use this restaurant. While on hoilday with my family to yeovil I placed an order to be delivered to us. Nothing turned up we spoke to the restaurant and said it was our fault they couldn't find us ? Clearly marked on Google maps? So they and just eat stole £37.70 off us both saying its our fault DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT.

After over an hours weight, we were very disappointed by the quality of our food. All the dishes we ordered tasted old and lacked flavour. We won’t be ordering from here again

Where do I start… I ordered a curry from these people through just eat they accepted my order within seconds I thought great. Then I got an email saying it’s on its way 1 hour later I get an email saying it was delivered when IT WAS NOT! I called the restaurant about 20 times and the call kept being cancelled then I googled the place and found it it was closed I walked around looking for the driver when I specifically left in the comments to call me if they had trouble finding me WHICH THEY DID NOT! Called them the next day to ask what happened last night I spoke to a lovely lady who told me the boss will ring me back when he did he spoke to me like a piece of something said it was my fault and I had my phone number wrong on just eat which is convenient when I have had this account for years and other drivers have had no problem ringing me! Apparently the driver was looking for my property for 45mins? when I stood out there in horrible weather waiting. ALL I CAN SAY IS AVOID AVOID AVOID SAVE YOUR MONEY GET A JAR CURRY FROM ALDI SAVE THE SILLY DELIVERY CHARGE OF 7 quid treat your self instead.

The service is always good, food delivered promptly and hot. Really love the Biryani. To update this, on 24/10/23 there was a problem with their online ordering. Went in to sort it on the 25th. They could not have been nicer or treated me better. They were absolute stars. Food still good.

I did specify not to use front door come to the side was my request as a newly laid patio covers the front not advisable to walk on it for 24 hrs , totally ignored the request I would like to know why???

Popped in to get food on way home. I was told after ordering I’d have a 20-30 minute wait, but order was ready after 15 minutes. The meal was fresh, delicious and plentiful. I will definitely recommend and will visit again.

Food ordered at 1820, called after a 60 minute wait to be told the order was on its way. Food finally arrived at 1948. Tikka masala sauce is, quite frankly, vile. Inept, avoid.

Delicious hot food that arrived promptly

It was the worst Butter Chicken I have ever had in my life. All the other items were fine but the Butter Chicken was the deal breaker.

The food was delivered long time before estimated , food tastes bland , overcooked, sauce seems grainy/chunky unlike usual , in general seems rushed or prepared without care

After over 2 hours waiting I called to be told my food had been delivered. I asked where and to whom it had been delivered. I was only told that a lady came out of my house and took it. What absolute rubbish, only myself and my wife were in the house and we had no visitors. The food finally turned up almost 4 hours late in total, no apology and no extras thrown in for the inconvenience. I am not one to leave bad feedback as a rule, but the terrible service we received has troubled me for days. Its not like we are a new customer, we've had many wonderful meals from them. I had ordered this using my stamp card discount and honestly it felt like I was getting a 2nd class service because of it. I certainly won't be ordering again. I felt like we were being accused of basically stealing a free meal. In these hard times nothing less than perfection is adequate unless you don't value your customers or businesses.

Used to be my go to Indian take away as nowhere held a candle to it but new management clearly changed recipes. Food came hot and fast but all of our curries and rice were just seeping water, ended up with about 1/4 pint water on the edge of my plate which made food honestly taste like nothing. Won’t order again. Barely ate what I ordered. Sorry.

Chicken Pathia was too spicy, couldn't finish it.

Both currys were very runny, korma had pink chicken inside, tikka was really bland i had to add salt to taste something, bad experience wouldn’t recommend

Was slightly disappointed.. had Raj takeaway quite a few times. Usually order from their app.. The tandoori butter chicken was completely different to normal. No colour or flavour this time. Probably won't order from them again.

Order was delayed, lovely curry’s, chips were cold and didn’t seem fresh compared to the rest of the dishes.

Great as ever - we've been ordering from Raj Cuisine for over twenty years now, and they're always excellent.

I generally made a mistake and left my old address on just eat and they knocked the door and left my food on the door step and when phoned they said nothing they can do now as there back in Yeovil disgusting they way the delivery driver spoke to me!!! Not very good tbh as I don’t drive and just lost out on £60 worth of food cause it’s not there problem!!!

Over an 1hr 20 min wait for delivery, food was lukewarm and tasteless and my malaysa curry had banana in it instead of pineapple 🤮 2nd time we've had a bad order from here, will not be ordering from here again.

Got a message on the app saying enjoy your food after it was 15 minutes late and nothing had arrived. Called the restaurant who said it was just being sent. Waited another 30 minutes and called again, they said they only had 1 driver and it was on the way. Another 20 minutes passed and still nothing. Called again and they said arriving any time now. I told them if not here in 5 minutes I would drive down and demand a full refund. A couple of minutes later the manager called and said he would bring it as it was still there, now 90 minutes late. He couldn’t explain why his staff lied, and asked me not to use just eat but just call direct for a discount next time. There will be no next time. This restaurant should not be on just eat.

1 Naan burnt and the masala was a bit average. But fast delivery and rest was ok.

Got there to collect food 10mins after confirmation of collection time, food wasn’t ready, waited a further 10 mins before being given food.

Food was delivered earlier than expected. 1st Indian from Yeovil and was very impressed!!!

*** Be Wary*** I haven’t tasted the food. This food was an hour late, we were not informed that the food would be late and when I informed the restaurant they are unwilling to provide any refund on the order. The offer of money off the next order was provided but not satisfactory as this bad experience has meant I am unwilling to use the restaurant again in the future. A waste of money and arguably a transgression on statutory rights.

Some of the food was cold, was called before food arrived asking me to pay by cash cause there was a problem between the restaurant and Just eat, telling me that he was going to have to call them and it was my fault and I should be using there website not just eat! So if there’s a problem why is the restaurant still available to order from on just eat or there should be something saying cash only on delivery! Not very pleased! We have used Raj before and they have been fine won’t be rushing back again!

Food was generally tasty. Ordered set meal 2 which should have 2 pilau rice, only 1 received. Both meat curries (chicken tikka masalla and lamb balti) had very little meat, mainly just sauce. Used Raj many times in past, unusual to have short delivery or these issues with the food.

was a regular and loyal customer for this take away until tonight. However, I have been disappointed in the drop in standards of service at this place for a while. It started with their attempt to charge £50 as a 'service charge' one time. This despite being a chance customer. Next was there 'redacting' of prices on their menus! Is this even legal? ALL prices are 'hidden' by a black felt tip strike through. The straw that broke the camel's back was tonight. I ordered a 'Jalfrezi' and what I got was just chicken pieces swimming in a runny sauce. I would be shocked if this place continues in business much longer . To summarise;- 1) They have 'hidden' prices with redacted menus. 2) They sell poor quality cuisine 3) They have tried charging me a strange 'service charge', despite being a regular customer.

Ordered on just eat over two weeks ago, got a call from raj cuisine straight back, was asked to cancel just eat and book through them, i asked how do I get my refund, they said just eat would refund normally straight away, well over two weeks still not refunded, so the take away was over £80, also told I would get a discount card, well got a card with discount code scribbled over so cant be used, beware.

Missed poppadoms from order but otherwise good service

This is the second consecutive order we've received with paid for items missing. Free items arrive which are duplicate of items from our order anyway. we don't want these, we want what we've paid for. after calling the take away I have been told no refund can be given and they would provide the items free of charge next time we order? There won't be another order. Convinced items aren't delivered so you'll order with them again under the promise you'll get your previous missing item/s. Lovely food but shameful customer service and follow up. Once I can forgive but twice I can't. Sorry Raj, we'll be eating elsewhere.

Food was pretty good, but only garlic naan, not cheese and garlic, as ordered. Still good quality, flavour and delivered earlier than expected.

Food used to be amazing and hot however it is now not tasting as nice and arrives cold. Maybe new ownership going downhill?

Everytime i order from them they try to ring me and get me to reorder via there own website. They keep stating "We're having problems with out just-eat machine" to get you to do so. Won't be ordering from them anymore with these actions!

Poor taste, no way near Indian cuisine. Have never had such ba Briyani, noodles was soggy and tasteless. Tandoori chicken average. Chappati too thick and hard. Disappointed

Amazing. I messed up my order and forgot rice. The restraunt had closed and they let me come in 20 minutes after they were closed and stayed late just to make me some rice. Very very pleased. Lovely place
