This pub is very quirky. They offer a limited range of beers, but this is cider country. They offer very good fresh home-made pizzas at a good price: would happily return for another It still has a skittle alley. This is functional and could do with some tidying.

This is somerset’s best kept secret, a superb pub that is not to be missed. A friend and I had been badly let down by an event we were at, so late on a Sunday evening we turned up hungry, all shops shut, struggling to think of anywhere which might do gluten free food. We were welcomed with a smile, good music, and, after explaining our situation, the landlady gave us her personal dinner. Above and beyond doesn’t cover it. We were blown away by Sharon’s generosity and friendliness. We got chatting and were enchanted. This place is super special. Caters for vegans and meat eaters alike, does gluten free pizza, good music, has a lovely atmosphere and lovely people. Sharon is kind, intelligent and proactive. If you live in Somerset, this is not to be missed!

We stayed in an Air BandB opposite the pub and visited it a few times during our stay. The staff and locals were really friendly and helpful. We had a couple of meals at the pub and the food was really good. They have food on most nights and sometimes have live music during the week and at weekends. They have a good selection of beers and ciders aswel. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone who is visiting the area.

The most amazing local pub! The landlords are the loveliest people and it truly is a good little find if you want something special to the area. We had fillet steak from their steak night on a Wednesday and it was incredible. Such an amazing price as well. Would highly recommend visiting!

Came here for a quick beer and ended up staying most of the night. Owners were so friendly and welcoming to us ‘none locals’ but you can clearly see it’s a proper local pub too! Nice vibe! Didn’t eat but the food did look really lovely. Brilliant atmosphere and just a must nice feeling to it.

We cycled here on a lovely sunny bank holiday afternoon to see a local band play. Arrived a bit early but no bother because there is always an interesting local to converse with and the beer is good; straight out the cask. Due to the good weather, the band, Dry White Bones, decided to set up in the car park and play from the back of their van! This was a great idea and worked really well on such a lovely day. The band were as good as ever (we've seen them before). We made some new friends, supped some excellent beer (Sunshine Reggae from very near-by Fine Tuned brewery) and had one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. This is one of the best examples of a proper English pub; it does not try too hard but it just works. Other than the pizza, I have not eaten here before but for atmosphere and good beer, you will not go far wrong. It is off the beaten path and I suspect some nights are very quiet so timing would be important. Enjoy!

Nice local pub, with a friendly atmosphere. Pub very clean and easily accessible. Jodie/Tracey hit the spot with a lovely Sunday Lunch presented beautifully……great hospitality. Enjoyed chilling over a pint of Guinness and a few baby Guinness chasers.

Now called sues orientalist Kitchen. Friendly staff and accommodated my request to have a pho style noodle dish with prawns and veg. Was offered few stale crackers whilst I waited. Prawns were good size but shells left on so difficult to take shells off as was so hot in soup. Also not deveined so could not eat them. Noodles weren’t the best. Flavour was adequate with fresh veg but the fresh sliced chilli was clearly not fresh. Despite being lunch time had a table of 4 who clearly were regulars and another couple also who clearly knew the owner. Was not offered a drink however equally I did not ask. £7.99 for quite good portion but sadly couldn’t eat it. Shame as the owner was really lovely .

We have eaten here 3 times now and each time it has been good. The roast dinners are very good - not worth cooking your own when you have the George in your doorstep. Nice vibrant atmosphere too

Was dubious, as never like going somewhere new especially on holiday. Absolutely lovely fish and chips, the chips were banging! Very crispy! Which I like, curry sauce was also lovely, my husband and children disappointed in the sausages. But would recommend for the fish, chips and curry sauce ❤️
