Went to the Manor for my Brother in law's birthday lunch. After previewing the menu online I was quite looking forward to the get together as the menu had a great range of food. When we arrived I noticed we were sat right by the door on a long table. I didn't want to complain but with people coming in and out the whole time I was absolutely freezing and so was most of our party. The pub was large with lots of tables I have no idea why they put us there. I noticed all doors were propped open. We actually decided to remove the door wedge to try to help the terrible draft. But with people coming and going so much it only helped a little. And with the doors not actually closing properly if if pushed open correctly we were fighting a losing battle. We were a party of 9 and even though when ordering and paying separately on 3 orders we stated we were all sat together our meals came out over 35 mins apart. So we didn't get to eat together. This was pretty terrible. Although the waiting staff apologised it didn't make it any better. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed desserts too but the experience was ruined by the cold table and the long waits between meals sadly.
Overall ok place but only because we had a 50% off voucher. If we had paid full price we wouldn't have been happy with the food. I can see the vision of a fancier menu but the food wasn't the best quality and the roast dinner we had wasn't great at all. The wine however was lovely.
Our server, Maisie, was lovely and did a great job. There was a couple behind us who were being so difficult but Maisie and the Manager handled it really well.
Unfortunately, I've been charged twice and waiting on a chargeback from the bank. Not the servers fault at all, the signal for the card machine wasn't great in the garden room so maybe ensure you go inside to pay.
We'd definitely return for some drinks in the sun but the sunday dinner at least wasn't what we'd go for again. Lovely outside terrace but also be aware it is a pay to park site.
Poor quality food. Vindaloo not very spicy at all and very sweet, about as spicy as a korma. The naan is frozen (told by waiter) so assuming other things are too. On a positive note the staff are friendly and it's cheap.
You get that time of the year, when nobody goes out and the passing airport visitor trade has dropped off and you need some clever strategies to bring in the business. So you bring out a lunch club menu, with 9 solid choices- just filling enough but not so generous that your profit suffers. And you even throw in a glass of wine or beer for the £11.50! Many of the diners were, um , older (like us) and knew a great deal when they saw it. My steak sandwich was faultless - sweet onions, a mild bite of mustard, and an unexpected peppery bite from some early watercress. The rest of the party went for earthy wild mushrooms with some hidden mozzarella with a well-practiced poached egg to be split with a flourish and ooze gently down.
We’ve eaten here for at least ten years, but sadly only when off for holidays from Bristol Airport. Shame it’s a 150 mile round trip or we’d come every week. Thanks Dan and Emma!
The woodborough inn was an amazing place to stay, all the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was brilliant. We’re did the thatchers tour just down the road and had a lovely time, also the eggs Benedict for breakfast was the best I’ve ever had 😁
Without a doubt the rudest manager of a pub I have met. We popped in for a drink and were treated poorly. Manager stated that Without a table we could not have a drink. There were many empty tables which did not fill up for the hour we were there. I then witnessed him be verbally rude to other customers. I've been a loyal customer for many years. But do you know what. Not any more. The manager is as total plonker.
Was good until recent change of manager, new staff are really rude and seem to think the bar is for them rather than the customers. Most expensive pub in the area, no food served, most locals avoid it. Would not recommend at all.
