Stayed a night here and it was a bit expensive due to booking at the last minute. Rooms are nice but the hot water wasn't working. It got fixed after complaining. Food was good and breakfast was delicious with vegetarian options. Staff are helpful. Just a bit too expensive for the overnight stay. Parking on road and at the pub car park at the side. About 20-30 mins to beach in the car.

Fab experience here, used as an overnight stop off en route to Glastonbury, and then Devon. Room was well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Staff were super friendly, and the food was Yum! - both an evening meal and a hearty breakfast.. Highly recommended.

The Woodborough Inn is in the middle of the village of Winscombe with commercial buildings that seem more urban than rural. However, the interior is cheerful, warm and welcoming. We stayed 2 nights in a large, nicely decorated corner room with a big comfortable bed. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The food was very tasty and there was a good choice of dishes. We would happily stay there again

We had a lovely time, waiters were fab . What seemed to be the manager was a little abrupt. The restaurant was quite but she told a family that they had to order straight away even though the place stayed quiet 🤐. We went back the next night she didn't even ask what time we wanted a table, she just said no tables 😭. We looked later and the restaurant was empty 😭. What a shame. Were using the place as an escape as we had just lost our dog, what a shame

Well we had two nights of walking in and having beautiful meals. I popped in as it was Friday night to try and book a table. I asked if there was a table for the evening and without asking for how many, what time or even pretending to consult the bookings I was told absolutely nothing. Such a shame that I felt we were completely dismissed. I would suggest next time at least pretend to try as you never know who has just walked through the door.

Popped in here on the off chance of a table and the lovely staff managed to squeeze us in. The food was really good, lots of choice for all tastes and it really was tasty! The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and helpful. Would love to return.

Six of our friends and us stayed here for 2 nights last week. We also had dinner both evenings. This is an outstanding pub/hotel. Excellent value for money. Without exception the staff were outstanding, both in service and putting up with the 8 of us. The rooms are very well appointed and were very clean. Absolutely no criticism. If we have the chance would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

The newly hired blonde woman is rude.inconsiderate and immature. Has no consideration for customers and had a poor attitude. She counted down like I am a child when I was providing buisness.

Called in here on a boiling hot day - too hot to do anything else much so became tourists who 'lunch' Unbelievably good - four main meals - gammon, mussels, honey and soy chicken noodles and pizza. Not a fault found - staff friendly, locals friendly, service excellent, food superb. Didn't really need dessert but it was rude not to try - so had that too - again all excellent Highly recommend this great pub and would return for dinner this evening if we had room!

Very friendly staff and good food. We also stayed the night in one of the newly renovated rooms which was very pleasant and comfortable.

We popped in for lunch, and both of us went for the chicken, spinach and feta lasagne - with a Parmesan-cream sauce atop - and... it was world-class (and better than anything that we have ever eaten on our travels around Italy)! This, when coupled with super-friendly bar-staff - and a great pint of Thatchers - made for an amazing start to our mini-break, and we would whole heartedly recommend this venue - and its food - to anyone visiting the Mendip area!

Great pub with friendly staff and good food. We stayed here for 2 nights with our dog and the accommodation was very clean and spacious, no signs or smells of previous dogs and well laid out. Separate dining area for people with and without dogs which was great and all food we ate was excellent. Overall it was a good experience in a good location.

We had an overnight stay at this lovely pub as we attended a family funeral and the wake was held here.We had a lovely double room which our sister in law paid towards for us and breakfast was included.All the staff were helpful and friendly and the young lady Emily who served us breakfast was a breath of fresh air. Breakfast was cereal and juice,followed by a full English with tea and coffee with toast.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely pub.. Awful flat lager 🍺.. I’m sorry but this is becoming a joke.. Why is the lager always flat.. No fizz at all it’s a dead Pint complained on many occasions and it’s either blamed on the Glasses.. Sorry guys this needs to be sorted.. Your paying premium prices for a Premium pint and it’s dead.. I think you need to sort it.. It’s a shame we have to go to other pubs further a field to enjoy a pint.. You need to have Stella 👍👌

Great overnight spot en route from Cornwall on holiday. However there are lots of local walks if you were staying in the area. Our room, which had been recently refurbished, was light, airy and unbelievably large! The photos matched the room. Great outdoor space to enjoy a beer, if you are luckily to have sunshine. Good choice of beers and food, the staff were very friendly but a bit overstretched on the food side. We stayed here after a last minute dash from Cornwall. Beautiful room with lots of space. We received a very warm welcome. Breakfast in the morning was lovely with a great variety of cereals, yogurts and fruit to choose from. My husband had the full English which he enjoyed very much. Fresh ground coffe was lovely. It’s a shame we only had one night.

There are not a great many places to eat between here and Weston-super-Mare and this is a deservedly popular pub with good parking and very good food. There’s nothing particularly adventurous bit its a comfortable restaurant with decent , competitively priced food and well kept beer. Very popular on a Thursday night when we were there so worth booking. Friendly, helpful staff.

Stayed weekend 14th September. Check in was very quick and easy. Rooms were roomy and clean. Break fast was cooked fresh and very nice. Also had Sunday lunch which was lovely, well done to all the staff for going that extra mile and making our visit enjoyable.

Second visit here and very impressed. The staff are happy and very attentive, always smiling and nothing is too much. The food was incredible, I had something off the specials board and it looked and tasted phenomenal. One of my friends had the burger and said it was one of the best they'd had and all that had steaks loved them, well worth the money as you can tell it's fresh, real food! Will definitely be returning for one of the many gins!

Have visited a number of times in the last 6 months and food has been pricey but excellent. The last 2 visits in September 2019 have been distinctly average. Also noticed there was a sausage and mash option on the specials priced at £13....went back a week later and it was £15!! Overpriced and not top of my list of places to go anymore.

Went here with friends for lunch 2 of us had grilled vegetables with halloumi cheese & 2 of us had ham mushroom omelette with chips & dressed leaves plus a bowl of cheesy chips our omelettes in my opinion were overdone & had mostly mushroom & very salty the chips weren’t piping hot the grilled vegetables in a skillet was very hot & plenty of it but I think they overdone it with the olives the service was good but for us it lacked atmosphere sorry to say we won’t rush back

The only pub in a large village and frankly I’d rather drive somewhere else- little atmosphere, uncomfortable seating and high prices even for a ‘village pub’. Such a shame as it used to be the hub of the community and a warm welcome was guaranteed- now it’s impersonal and lacking.

Extremely helpful and pleasant bar and serving staff, just a pity the food couldn’t match their standard. Overall we had a pleasant experience there, but nothing exceptional.

We booked into the Woodbrough inn over the August bank holiday. A charming place to stay in a beautiful village. The room was spacious with a nice bed .We did find the room a little warm as it had the sun come in throughout the day. But hey we won't moan about getting some sun in Britain. We don't get enough of it. The meal we had in the restaurant was fabulous. I would stay here again.

Had the most delicious food here recently - all two starters and four main meals were truly superb - so pleased and will definitely return. Must mention the waitress as she was so friendly and professional- a real credit to the restaurant .

Ok, so to be fair we have visited this place before on our way to Bristol Airport. Coming from South it is five minutes off the main road and worth a left turn, loads of parking too.

We stayed at The Woodborough as we were visiting Thatcher's farm, just up the road.

We stopped for lunch here. The young staff were very pleasant and helpful. The drinks were fine and served quickly. The food was good, but as other diners have said I would have preferred the food to be served on a plate, rather than a piece of wood that presumably does not go in the dishwasher. Also would have preferred a slice of lemon and tartare sauce served with the fish rather than just a bland mayonnaise.
