The best restaurants in North Devon South West

Every time we order on just eat the order is later than the delivery time by at least 45 minutes no contact from them, they mark as delivered even when not, when you ring to confirm the food is still on the way they get rude and say it left 5 minutes ago, would definitely avoid at all costs and go to the Gurkha who give fantastic service all the time unlike this place not sure why we’ve wasted our time and money on this ‘restaurant’ twice

The thatched inn has got beamed ceilings throughout with a real fire burning bright and warm. A heaven to be in on a rainy and windy seaside day. We had chicken schnitzel and hake. Both were generously served and superbly cooked. You can choose 2 sides with each main and we were just spoit for choice.

Visited here a lot as a child so decided to pay a visit with the family for a carvery today. Quickly served at the bar and given tokens to collects our food. Beef, turkey and pork on offer, I had a bit of each. The food wasn’t bad but the potatoes were quite undercooked, the Yorkshire puddings were awful, huge burnt rocks, totally inedible and unfortunately the food was luke warm. Meat was lovely as was the gravy and the cauliflower cheese. Great atmosphere in the pub but the food was a bit of a let down.

Very good tasty and filling food!

Lovely food, the best I had whilst staying in Illfracombe. Dog friendly aswell. The service was great and considering we were a large group, the wait for food was decent aswell. Highly recommend this pub!

My new favourite place! The staff were so friendly, the food was amazing and the whole experience was a pleasure. We even took the part in the Monday quiz and came 2nd . Was so much fun! Will definitely come every time we are in Braunton. Very highly recommended

This place is an absolute treasure and is the perfect kind of pub. Great selection of drinks including their own beer, a simple but delicious menu and a wonderful ambience. It is quirky with some amazing furniture. A proper pub.

Great friendly service, the roast dinner was lovely, and so much of it! Really hot and very tasty xx Young lad that served us was polite and friendly as so were the rest of the staff. We'll be back xx

Looking for a value for money Sunday carvery .The Aggi didn’t disappoint real friendly greeting upon arrival and a very tasty hot carvery with plenty to choose from .booking online gives you a deal 2 large carvery’s for £20 absolute bargain . Will definitely return .

One of the best Sunday carveries that we have experienced, with a wide range of vegetables & meat; welcoming staff, especially Kim & Wendy, nothing was too much bother

Had the Yeung Chow fried rice. Authentic aroma & taste, and good portion size. Favourably compares to experiences in Singapore years ago. Well done!

We never leave reviews but this place exceeded all expectations. We approached it one evening and the outside lights drew our attention. We booked for Sunday lunch today and wow, the best Sunday lunch we’ve had. So much food and all of it great quality The pork actually melted as I ate it, and the included side dishes were incredible. An absolute hidden gem and the staff were lovely too.

Recently changed hands and food not so good

Awful, very salty we paid nearly £60! The chicken balls were nice! The duck was OK but the housin sauce was very salty No point in saying anything else not very nice. Very disappointed can't wait to go to London and get a decent one !
