The best restaurants in Lynton and Lynmouth North Devon South West

Fantastic homemade pies, reasonably priced.

A very rude lady served me and did not make me feel welcome at all. She also got my order wrong. I can see from other reviews this isn't the first time. There's lots of other nice cafés near by I'd recommend going there you'll have a much nicer time.

We were recommended to come here for a special birthday celebration, and it was as good as it gets. The birthday card on our table, the Happy Birthday dessert plate and the glass of champagne each were complimentary and were much appreciated. The food and service were exceptional, highly recommended.

An absolute delight! Vanilla Pod offers a truly delicious Mediterranean menu with fresh, flavorful dishes that are clearly made with care. It’s a family-run restaurant, and you can feel the warmth and pride in everything — the mother is the chef, and her cooking is outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. Friendly service, cosy atmosphere, and food that leaves a lasting impression.

Ate here a couple of years ago and they were the best chips ever, so glad to find that they were still the best on our second visit to Lynton. Just wish you were my local chippy back home!

Just came back from a weekend away with my husband. We arrived Friday afternoon and were greeted by James, who booked us in and showed us our room, we then had some lunch at the pub. Friday evening, we also had dinner at the pub. The food was brilliant and cooked fresh, the locals are lovely, and will have a conversation with you. Breakfast was pre ordered but cooked from fresh, good selcting of cereal, yhoughs and fruit. Bed was lovely, and the room was lovely, no phone service at all ( which was nice). We will definitely be back to the rockford inn

Very cute cafe. The scones are really gigantic 😁 - easily enough for 2 people 😂. There are a few places inside where you can watch the train, but also nice seating outside.

Super local business, so friendly and the breakfast was superb. Great ingredients and cooked so well and quickly. Will be returning for sure.

Came for breakfast and dinner, and the food was delicious! everything was cooked and presented well, as were the cocktails. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious and a great atmosphere for a couples or friends dinner. Our waiter sam was so polite, chatty and helpful when i asked questions about the menu. i have never had service up to the standard he gives! he went out of his way to make the guests happy, so really appreciated that!!

Ordered lunch at 12.30 - took 40 mins to get our roast dinner & our daughter’s burger arrived after we finished our dinner. Wasn’t even that great the roast - avoid this place & especially if you require gluten free food

Very friendly, and welcoming with character. Would be 4 stars, but for us the X factor was that they have a tasty gluten free and vegan mushroom pie (not on the old menu on Google), served with lovely veg that sorted us both for the evening, so kudos to the Ancient Mariner!

We stopped here to have a quick lunch. Baby and dog in tow, we were welcomed in! Ham, egg and chips and a GF tuna toastie. Both delicious! Even got a slice of GF carrot cake to go! This placed saved me when needing a gluten free lunch! Would definitely return.

Always go here when on holiday either for a pasty or lovely and addictive chocolates

This was closed when we visited during the Easter holiday. It maybe that they haven't reopened for the main season yet as the place was not empty.
