Never been here before despite being regular visitors and definitely enjoyed our lunch. Friendly service. Very reasonable prices. Ideally situated for the watersmeet walk, either at start or end in Lynmouth based.

Really tasty breakfast, good coffee, great service. We stopped here before starting a long walk - it set us off well fed!

Lovely tea room serving lots of home made goodies! The pasty was delicious and my friend had a huge scone. Reasonably priced with extra seating out the back overlooking the river, great service too

Lyndale Cafe offers a truly delightful experience from the moment you walk through the door. The staff provide a warm, friendly welcome, making you feel right at home. The service is excellent, with the team going above and beyond to ensure your visit is enjoyable. One of the highlights of my visit was the hot chocolate, which was simply lovely—rich, creamy, and perfectly warming. But the real star of the show was the Jamie Dodger blondie. It was to die for! The perfect blend of sweetness and texture, it’s a treat you won't want to miss. If you're in the area, Lyndale Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

What a pleasant surprise. Called in for breakfast and was pleased it welcomed dogs. Lady was extremely helpful and took our order and food arrived not long after. All had full english and it was all hot and freshly cooked. Great value for money and tasty fresh ingredients. Tables were clean and turned around quickly. It was a great sign while we were there that local workmen also used this cafe and we can see why. We will definitely be back

we came in for lunch but they wasn’t serving meals, only pasties and scones. sticky tables witch gives of unhygienic vibes.

Very much a locals place. Food was okay but it could have been much nicer. Tasted very oily! Perhaps I should have complained, but I preferred to eat, we are on holiday by the way. Would have been nice if they looked up and said thank you for your custom, rather than their head sunk down making you feel undervalued as you leave, there you go! Quite surprised to see all of the cleaning products and chemicals out showing the loos, COSHH and trip hazards! The table was very sticky, but in fairness we did see they wiped this, might be something else.

Lovely little family run traditional Cafe, good value food, good coffee, not a fussy theamed cafe just a great example of a traditional good value good food cafe. Right next to the car park in one of the prettiest villages in the country.

Lovely, friendly and a good pot of tea for £1.90. I always make a point of calling when I'm in North Devon and I received a very warm welcome.

Lovely stop off point after a long walk. We had a delicious Devon cream tea and the English breakfast looked good. Dogs are welcome inside 🐶

Arriving in Exmouth for a day visit after parking the in a nearby carpark we called into Lyndale Tea rooms and purched 2 lovely decaf lattes very good friendly service Well worth a visit

We stopped at Lyndale Tea Rooms as it seemed quieter than most of the other tea rooms and cafes close by. We were not disappointed as we received the friendliest of welcomes and service was quick and efficient. Great tasty jacket potato accompanied by a generous fresh salad and coleslaw and the pasty and chips was a generous portion. Highlight was the friendliness of the staff. Definitely recommend this venue.

Called into the Lyndale Tea Rooms in Lynmouth on our way to The valley of the Rocks and the Lee Abbey Toll Road. Such a warm welcome from the staff, top class coffee and hot chocolate and some 'naughty', delicious cake too. Quite 'made' the start to our day - thank you!

We had a very good lunch, great service, we didn’t wait long and all was served hot. Very reasonable prices too. Recommended.

If you are in the area this dog friendly cafe is well worth a visit. You are welcomed by lovely ladies. The breakfast baps are to die for. Lovely sandwiches and paninis. The cakes looked great too. They serve great coffee.

Lovely cream tea, and we weren't hassled by the staff, even though it was very nearly time for them to close, we were made welcome.

Had planned to go up to Lynton for lunch but road was closed so decided to have a birthday lunch in here. We was so glad we did. Lovely pleasant staff and food really was nice. We sat in the back room as it was busy at the front. May not have the best views but the food really does make up for it. Really reasonable priced too. Daughter had jacket potato and prawns and we had pannini served with chips and salad really good size and really good price. They had a good choice of food on the menu and their cakes looked lovely and homemade too. Will def visit again before we leave prob for cake and tea. Definately worth a visit.

Stopped by for an early morning coffee and tea cake to set the day off right and found the staff pleasant, cost of food reasonable and quality items, thanks.

We discovered Lyndale a couple of years ago when we were looking for somewhere for breakfast and were not disappointed. Since then we have been back a few times and have always enjoyed lovely food and lovely service. Enjoyed probably the best cheese and ham toasted sandwich I’ve ever had yesterday and the prices are extremely reasonable too, thoroughly recommend.

This tea room is lovely and the staff were so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We went twice and had a teacake/coffeecake and also a lovely full English breakfast. They also welcome dogs but keep it spotless. While we were there an older lady had fallen outside and the staff just got out the first aid and sat her down and really looked after her. Not many places would have been bothered. Very big thank you for being such a lovely team and making this special for everyone. You must go here as it's reasonably priced and very good quality.

2 of us had jacket spuds - one with beans and cheese and the other beans and bacon. The cheese was gorgeous and tangy and the bacon was lean and cooked to perfection. Lovely staff too.The menu is extensive for lunchtime fayre, including jacket spuds, paninis, omelettes, all day breakfasts (with veggie and vegan options), pasties, meals with chips, sandwiches and toasties, plus cakes and ice creams. Children's menu available too. We sat outside in the sun - but as this is Lynmouth, England the sun is not a given, but definitely a much appreciated bonus.Thanks all! Yummmm....

We were lucky to get a seat here amongst the very chaotic tourist/covid-ness around. The waitress was a gem, food was good and the cakes we “took away” - just wow!

My wife and I called in for a bite to eat yesterday after the stress of trying to find a parking space in Lynmouth! We got lucky and found a space in the adjoining car park.We both had cod and chips with side salad. Really delicious. The girl who served us was fantastic. So chirpy and efficient, given the current difficult and complicated world we live in. As we were moving on to a B&B, we asked if we could come back after exploring the lovely town and collect takeaway cheese rolls and cakes. That was no trouble at all. Nice cheese rolls, really scrummy lemon drizzle and rocky road. Really great stuf. Many thanks!

We arrived at 2.45 had been walking and saw on the outside menu it stated all day breakfast. Great, but no the kitchen closed at 2.30.No problem we will have a sandwich, but no the kitchen closed at 2.30.They clearly don't listen to potential customers as everyone coming in asked for the same, but no the kitchen closed at 2.30.Left with pastie or cake we did eat but it was disappointed. So remember if going here the answer will be.....No, the kitchen closed at 2.30.

Stopped here for a break and found it clean, cosy and friendly, the cream tea was very good, reasonable prices and decent coffee.

Good food, friendly staff. Highly recommended. My wife and I took our granddaughter for lunch. We were all made to feel very welcome. There were high chairs for the children, which were clean and in good condition. Nothing was too much trouble.I would definitely go there again next time I am in the area.

Nice coffee and lovely cakes but the scones were very crumbly. The staff are very friendly. Toilets were in a bit of a state -not clean at all which was off putting. This is also dog friendly cafe.

Traditional cafe, very friendly and took our dog too, had a fabulous breakfast and takeaway sandwich’s and cakes too during our holiday. You can also buy newspapers here if you wish. Loved this cafe lovely and traditional.

Popped in for something light for lunch when visiting Lynton. We had the hot beef sandwich - it was lovely, generous portions of taty Exmoor beef with horseradish, the side salad and crisps were an added bonus. Staff really friendly. Books, papers, games etc supplied even pairs of glasses. Will visit again. Thank you.

We called in here for a cream tea and very pleased we did.We were made to feel welcome and the food / drinks were first class.Must add a quick not that this used to be my grandparents house some forty years ago, very strange seeing it as a cafe but nicely done and good service!!!

Had a late lunch stop here,now wished we had walked further 7 got wet.Food do come quite quickly & was hot,not much of it though.

Stopped here for tea and cake on Sunay afternoon there seemed a lot of staff here but service was very slow cakes were very fresh and tasty but felt the price we paid for tea and cake a bit pricey.

I couldn't believe how BAD my meal at this place was... After a couple of mouth fulls I nearly gagged and had to leave the rest. It tasted fowl and the plate was swimming in oil. I left and had to find another place to eat and fork out money to pay for another meal. The satue potatoes were not sauteed, they were roasted potatoes that were then fried (sometime later after cooking I think), and the meat pie consisted of an enormous bowl of meat/gravy with hardly any filling on the top, and it tasted awful. The veg was on a side dish and dried out/tasteless. Nearly one of the worst meals I've ever had, shocking!

Called in here after walking down from the top of the valley, so needed plenty of substance. Had the full breakfast plus a pot of tea. Just what the doctor ordered. The breakfast was cooked to order so very hot and fresh. The owners were lovely and very informative about the area. Will be back again.

I walk in this area as often as I can and always stop at this cafe for poached eggs on toast for breakfast! Lovely country cafe, I have always been served with a smile, the food is cooked to order and great, and my dog is always made welcome. I have tried others in the village over the years, but don't bother now, I just come to the Lyndale.

Popped in on a rainy Sunday with my partner and 2 daughter's 19 and 11. Brilliant service, lovely cream tea, and lovely homemade cake. My partner commented on the perfect pot of tea. Spoilt for choice for tea rooms in Lynton and Lynmouth and this one is set aside near a car park. Worth seeking out

We stopped on our way to Ilfracombe on a New Year break, this place was right next to the car park. The staff were very welcoming and made my family feel very relaxed and at home. A nice cup tea each was all we needed, but what we got was a insight into village life and a bit of history from the gentleman who worked there. It's great in this age to get the personal touch, which made us feel relaxed and valued. Nowadays this sort of customer service is hard to find.

First class food very freindly staff and very good value for money will definatly going back again realy recomend the full English

We went in for a cup of coffee, which was great, and I decided to have a scone. It was so good that I had another!! The lady told me that her husband had just baked them that afternoon; you can't get fresher, or tastier, than that. I love scones, and as I said that was probably the best one (or two!!) that I've ever had. And I don't eat mine with cream.

Whilst staying in lynmouth my husband hurt his leg walking from lynton to lynmouth. I set him up with a coffee and sat him outside this tea rooms. I was just about to head back up to lynton for strapping from the chemist when the owner of the tea rooms insisted on driving me up and waited for me outside the chemist and drove me down again. Very helpful. And when I got back to my husband I had a lovely home made piece of Victoria sponge. Lovely people.

Nos tomamos el desayuno, que estaba recién preparado y a un precio razonable. Es un poco como el Tardis - es acogedora, pero es más grande que se pueda imaginar. Un lugar encantador y amable para parar y estando en el borde del aparcamiento es una ventaja. Loos. Tiene Bien valen la pena - no te decepcionará.

Llamado para un desayuno tarde. El lugar estaba lleno de gente local, una buena señal. El servicio es amable y eficiente y la comida era buena. Qué más se puede decir?

Nos cayeron para el almuerzo de hoy. Hay un ambiente muy acogedor aquí y todo el mundo parece conocerse.

Llamado en un día horneado caliente para un aperitivo y una sentarse. El café es sorprendentemente espaciosa por dentro y muy bien decorado con algunas características encantador de estilo antiguo. Personal amable y una buena variedad de alimentos disponibles a precios muy razonables. Asientos en el interior y al aire libre. Magnífica casa tartas caseras siempre disponible también - el pastel de café es excelente!

Due to a set of circumstances outside of our control, we found ourselves at these Tea rooms, as whist we were travelling to Lynton to visit family our car broke down at the foot of the hill leading up to Lynton. After getting the car in the car park next to the tea rooms, the lady in charge let us use the land line, as there is very little mobile phone network, to arrange breakdown cover and a tow truck etc which took best part of 45 minutes.We then had lunch which basic but very good. The staff made us very welcome and were very helpful, considering there was seven in all, and couldn't have been more friendly.

My daughters bought a milkshake each from the little take away section - they moaned it didn't taste very nice but as they had just spent 5.00 I told them to drink them, since they persisted I tried the shakes which were warm and thin - worse than Nesquick out of the cupboard - I took them back and said I thought their machine was broken and the response I got was ' the milk came out of the fridge , thanks for telling us' I said to the couple they couldn't serve it to anyone else but I didn't get the feeling they would stop using their alleged milkshake machine - if they even had one! Plenty of other nice places in Lynmouth so avoid!

It may have been off season but if you are open then there is no reason your standards should drop just because it's January. I'd been looking forward to a cream tea, but when it came the scone had been microwaved so was steaming hot and soggy. That I could have coped with, but the clotted cream was actually just pouring cream (fortunately not much of it though) with a tiny lump of thicker cream. One small mouthful was more than enough so we just drank our tea and left. They didn't ask us if everything was OK, don't think they cared

Not normally wanting to leave a bad review but have to say that the table and toilets and all in general was grubby at best.

Popped in here for a hot drink just before leaving Lynmouth, wish we hadn't. Judging by the excellent reviews we must have caught them on a bad day ! The drinks were perfectly acceptable but one of the staff ( the younger girl ) had terrible customer service skills, sour, unsmiling almost throwing customers their orders. I felt sorry for one elderly man, she was so rude to him, totally uncalled for. I do think that sometimes establishments in holiday spots aren't bothered about return custom as they have enough trade with day visitors. Plenty of other places in Lynmouth to choose from though.

Very convenient as this opens very early. Great choice of food at great prices. Very nice location and they do a good take away service from a separate serving hatch. Outdoor seating. Very clean. I was doing a solo bike ride to lands end and had gone a little off course. I had cycled over night and was in serious need of food. I rolled into the town just as the very friendly and chatty man was opening up and I was delighted to find that he was able to offer me a full vegetarian fried breakfast, just what I needed, along with as much tea as I could drink. Great location, great view, great staff. Can't fault the Lyndale Tearooms.

We ordered Crab sandwiches which were freshly made, and delicious. This place catches the sunshine at lunchtime, so we sat outside and soaked it all the goings on in lynmouth.

It certainly was one of the best cod &chips I have ever eaten. A very simple meal but well prepared and fresh. The ladies serving us where both very nice. The only thing they could improve is the actual interior - it is dated and really tired. But food makes it worth a visit. They also do some lovely cakes and the slices are more than generous.

We stopped for a break and enjoyed a mini cream tea. This depends on whether you want one or two scones. We shared it between so that we could eat a meal in the evening. We had coffee instead of tea and it was lovely. The scone was warm and we enjoyed the thick cream. The service was friendly. The toilets were clean but the sliding door was rather rickety! This tea room is on the car park and so we enjoyed watching coach parties and ramblers passing by. The location is lovely. It is right by the river and close to the small shops. A good place to stop for light snacks and lunches.

We were on our way to Ilfracombe on holiday when we broke down in our car coming down the hill, we just managed to make it to the car park by this tea room .We were unable to get a signal on our phone to ring the breakdown service . We asked the couple in the tea rooms if we could borrow their phone whilst our children had a drink each . They were so helpful and friendly and provided information on the local area . The man even drove my husband up to the local garage .Their hospitality and service was outstanding and we would like to thank them for all they did. It is a lovely tea room in a beautiful area and we would highly recommend it.

Very pleasant little town with a few nice attractions. The tea room is basic with a range of teas and cakes. Service is very efficient and friendly.Highly recommended.

Looks quite nice from the outside but I do not like my food poorly prepared and thrown at you there are far better places to eat for similar costs

I stop here and meet up with friends whilst in the area and always have a great meal very good value and great service with fee wifi to be recommended

A great staging post whether you are waiting for the bus or disgorging from the coach or have just walked off the moor. The friendly owners are a mine of information and a wealth of home made bounteous cake always enticingly displayed on the counter to tempt the faint hearted slimmer.This is an every day type of tearoom with a busy scene of customers coming and going, a chips with everything place and all day breakfasts, ice cream, cream teas and a little cubbyhole where you can order outside and it is passed through to you. It is dog friendly and has a clean loo. The people are cheerful too and it usually stays open most of the year except around January time.

It was OK to say the best. The Coffee Cake was quite tasty and plentiful. However when you have a pot of tea for two with extra hot water you can reasonably expect two Tea Bags surely?

My husband and I stopped here on our way to Ilfracombe, we had a lovely lunch of toasted sandwich and panini with a great cuppa which were freshly made and flavoursome; all very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and friendly, chatty but not intrusive and the cafe was clean. This is a lovely area that we visit often and would definitely go back to Lyndale Tea Rooms.

Had a lovely coffee and cakes, off season, so managed to get all the local gossip. Fantastic location, all of the UK were bathed in sunshine, but Murphy's law we got mist all day. Loads of museums and hydro electrc plants and walks etc etc. lovely coffee!!!!!!

There is a wide variety of food and drink offered at this cafe which sits on the corner of a car park on the way to Watersmeet. We arrived late in the afternoon after a long walk and were treated to a welcoming cup of coffee and tea. Returned the next day for a cream tea and were equally delighted by the service and quality of food and drink. Fair prices too.

We arrived here on a chilly January morning after a long drive, hoping for some local hospitality. The welcome was frostier than the weather and if we weren't in such need of a drink we would have walked out again. We waited a good 5 minutes before anyone appeared, then when she did eventually appear the woman serving was rude and unfriendly. She practically threw the mugs onto the counter and made our drinks in such an agressive manner that I wasn't sure the mugs would survive! The place was filthy and cold. The furniture has seen better days (a long time ago!) The cakes were all open to the atmophere and we would have had something to eat but feared for our health, so didn't bother. They need to realise that customers are the people who pay their wages and no matter how bad your day is you can't afford to be so rude. Her day clearly wasn't that bad as she was chatting happily to other customers who were clearly locals.We won't be back!

We had need to leave our holiday early and were heading out of the area at around 0830, but in need of some grub first. Why is it so hard to find anywhere open in this area at this time? We had already scoured Lynton, which was dead as a doornail, so headed down the hill and spotted this little gem open at the corner of the car park.Very friendly owner and seems to be well used by locals - always a good sign. We had a bit of everything - one full English, a couple of kiddie meals with chips, and a cream tea for my wife. It was all good, and the coffee excellent. Good value too - it's not often we can get 4 meals incl drinks for the kids and extra coffees for us for £20 these days (unless you count MacDonalds & Co as food that is...)We will definitely keep this one in mind for future visits to the area.

Quite possibly the best cream tea we had during our week in the area.It was reasonably priced too.All of the other places had large queues but this quaint little tea room with outdoor seating was extremely quiet.The girls had a hot chocolate with cream on top whilst we had a pot of tea and the scones as well.Very good deal and a rather nice cream tea too which came to £14.00.A little must and highly recommended.

With so many little cafes and restaurants offering pretty much of the same fare, we opted for this one since it was in a pleasant position and wasn't too crowded. Really excellent cappuccino and a very acceptable freshly made sandwich with no ostentatious or frilly adornments. Prices were very fair and reasonable in comparison to some of the other places we saw and the owner was also friendly and pleasant.I don't know whether we would have fared better elsewhere but as a venue for a quick afternoon lunch and coffee it was nice not to feel that we had been ripped off which is a change these days. My rating of the food as being average is solely based on the fact that a standard sandwich is exactly that. What more can one really say about a normal ham, cheese and pickle sandwich !

We ordered a cream tea & a sausage roll - despite being the only customers in I was told to get my pot of tea off the counter and collect my food (despite it being table service).The sausage roll was dry and old - goodness knows how long it had been kept warm in the heated vitrine. The scone I had was also old and no cover so the flies that were in the tearoom were free to rest on the scones on the counter. It was old and has dried out at the edges so much it was "crunchie". Would not recomend or return to this tearoom.

On our recent trip to Lynmouth we called into this lovely little place. Since our last visit in 2013 things have changed a bit. The menu is more extensive and there is a fish and chip take-away attached. We opted for toasted Teacakes and Tea and Cappuchino. Service is at lightening speed and the staff are very friendly and pleasant. Prices are really competitive and the whole experience was very pleasant,

Visited this Tea Rooms on our visit to Lynmouth . The service was very quick and the owners very friendly. My husband had fish and chips and the portion was generous . I had burger and chips and that was just the same. Both were delicious. There is space to sit outside as well and a take away service. Highly recommended

Do not be put off by the external appearance this tea room next to the coach/car park it serves the best scones in Lynmouth.On a cold spring afternoon the mini cream tea was excellent and very welcome. All of the scones and cakes are made by the proprietor and are excellent. The service was also very good

Good breakfast - good value. I also agree with other reviewers that the latte is very good. The cakes and scones looked nice but I was too full up with the breakfast to try.Nice friendly owner too. Seems to be a popular place with the locals, which is usually a good sign. Give it a try.

Came to Lynmouth for a winter break, not many places open but just about enough to keep us fed and watered. Great little Tea shop. Homemade scones tasty and very reasonable in price. Great views of the sea. Very friendly. My son loved the fresh banana milkshake!!!!!
