A very well maintained family run hotel, everyone is helpful and friendly and the food is all freshly cooked and excellent. The views from communal rooms and bedrooms are fabulous, short walk to valley of rocks and cliff railway.

Lovely atmosphere, good music, wonderful coffee and cake, and a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend a stay in the Blue Ball Inn in Countisbury. We have just spent 4 days exploring the area around Linton and Lynmouth and stayed 2 nights here. It's an old coaching Inn, dating back to the late 18th century, with lots of character and style. After a rather uninspiring initial impression of the outside, you find a hidden gem inside. The new owner is gradually working his way through the hotel, refurbishing it and our room, with a lovely view over Exmoor, was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable (king size) bed, modernised bathroom, shower and bath. There were warming log fires in various areas downstairs. The staff were lovely and welcoming, friendly helpful and informative. We went as part of a Travel Zoo deal, which was superb value and we enjoyed a Devonshire cream tea on the first night and 2 course dinner on the second. The food was excellent , continental and cooked breakfasts with a wide variety of choice, dinner was beautifully cooked, my sea bass was the best I've had, black forest cheesecake delicious and all tastefully presented, Michelin star style . I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would return at the drop of a hat.

We were a group of 3 omnis and 1 vegan and we had an amazing meal here with an excellent choice of dishes and superb service.

Ordered a takeaway while stopping in Lynmouth and wasn’t sure what to expect but I have to say it was absolutely delicious. We had the Thai Green curry which was full and flavour . Thoroughly recommend

Our group got lost on our walk and stuck in a big rain shower. The pub wasn't open but Wendy and Richard very kindly let us come in early to dry off. They even lit a fire for us! Thank you so much, we'll be back if we are in the area! :)

We had a 3 day bed & breakfast stay and also had evening meals. Fabulous food with good choices available, very helpful & friendly staff and very dog friendly throughout. Great surrounding area for walks and lovely local towns.

1 night stay, could have stayed longer. Owners were great, nothing too much trouble, food excellent, rooms and ensuite clean smart plenty of towels and shower gel etc. Tea coffee on hand in room. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

We opted for the Carrot and sweet potato soup with a baguette. The soup was piping hot and wholesome,there was also a lot more served in the dish than I was used to. We came across the Pavillion quite by accident, but so pleased to have visited. A lovely place to visit if you are in Lynmouth

Never been here before despite being regular visitors and definitely enjoyed our lunch. Friendly service. Very reasonable prices. Ideally situated for the watersmeet walk, either at start or end in Lynmouth based.

We visited last week - family of 6 with our four children (10, 8, 6 and 2) it was a lovely sunny day so the seating was welcomed situated in a lovely sunny spot before (or after like us) taking a trip on the cliff railway. The ice creams were really reasonably priced and the flavour selection was fantastic. My husband had the cappuccino crunch and said it was the best ice cream he’s ever had - we live in a tourist destination so have tried our fair share of ice creams so this was high praise from him! There was a great selection of other sweet treats available too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Lynton or Lynmouth!

Okay...however not inspired to ever return. Service was without any urgency. I got the feeling that they would look forward to closing time.
