Excellent spot for brunch, we had the meat & veggie breakfast burritos, vanilla, cinnamon & chilli hot chocolate and agua de mezcal. Everything was exceptional, and kept us going for a long windy walk along the coast to the valley of rocks. The whole place has a really quirky feel, part of a little street full of lovely shops. Highly recommended.

First time in Lynton, wanted to try something colourful. Staff were friendly, food and drinks were awesome. Chilli prawns..... wow! The pancakes really filled us up. Everything was so fresh and full of flavour. Thank you, we will be back!

Had the nachos and bowl Both were very well made. Would definitely recommend. The brownie was extremely good as well. P.s we are vegetarians and the taste wasn’t compromised.

We all really enjoyed the food which was very reasonably priced. Service was friendly and fast. The only thing was the portions were a little small and one or two more options on the menu would be great.

Lovely friendly cafe… (but it the felt more like a chilled trendy cool bar when I was there in the evening). Award winning apparently (various awards on the walls). Serves food and had craft beer/lager/cider on draft. I turned up around 6.30pm Friday evening on spec, and was greeted with a smile, and helpful advice. It was open mic night, so food options were limited to burritos. That suited me. Perfect! Really tasty, good price, served quickly. I’ll be back. Thank you.

Not the strongest coffee but certainly the kindest staff you can meet.

Went for the evening "Mexican" night on a Thursday. From the menu, I had high hopes of a different spin on a Mexican/ something to get my taste buds going. However, when the food came, it was ok but nothing to shout about. The nachos starter tasted exactly the same as the main soul bowl, and the burrito was mainly rice. Also found it quite expensive as normally you think of a Mexican as street food however out bill was over £70 (however, this did include a bottle of wine) I certainly wouldn't rush back. Disappointing.

Just had a fantastic breakfast here with my family. The breakfast burritos are delicious and really filling, and we all enjoyed our meal together. Definitely worth a visit!

Another great little cafe in Lynton. Popped in for coffee and cake twice. Coffee was spot on and banana loaf delicious. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely evening with a chicken burrito for tea, a couple of beers and live music from Kris. A great vibe, made a fab start to our weekend.

Amazing food. Went there after camping, and it was delicious. Come out of your way to come here.

This was our third visit to Charlie Fridays and sadly we were disappointed. We ordered from the specials board which had no prices displayed and was surprised to be charged £7.50 for a Stilton scone with chutney. By comparison, National Trust tearooms offer homemade cheese scones of a higher quality (admittedly without chutney) for £2.30. Staff were efficient, but not overly friendly. Will try somewhere else next time!

We went to the Mexican night. The food was Mexican style ... sort of. Husbands burrito was cold wrap with luke warm filling. My Mexican rice was basically long grain rice with a sprinkle of spice. Wouldn't recommend.

Lovely little cafe, very accommodating to dietary requirements & great veggie options. We had the granola & berry yogurt pot, Mexican hot chocolate, cinnamon swirl, Huevos Rancheros & Vanilla oat milk latte. Food was delicious, came out quick and was a good portion. My coffee was best I’ve had in a long time! It is very dog friendly & well laid out inside with comfortable seating, staff are friendly & helpful, really lovely colourful decor and lots of choice on the menu.

Stayed in Lynton a couple of weeks ago and came here twice in one day! Had a lovely breakfast (one vegetarian cooked breakfast and one pancakes) and bith were delicious. The food and service were so good that we returned for mexican night the same day. The food was brilliant, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's a lovely setting too, Don't change a thing!

Had an amazing Breakfast here. Also had a Mexican evening Thursday meal which was also delicious. Great Food, milk intolerances was no problem and staff were nice. So pretty inside day and night.

Greeted by a lovely spicy smell in the air for what was, for us, just a place for coffee and a light nibble. Cakes were great and the atmosphere 'comfortable' with a bohemian edge. Lovely.

We were recommended this cafe/restaurant in Lynton by some locals who said it was 'fun'. They were right. We really enjoyed 2 lunches there even though the cooking is not haute cuisine. It was tasty and well served and we would recommend it.

Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. The cafe is beautiful and the food sensational. Could have stayed all day and just kept ordering. We also stayed the night in the snug, booked via air b n b. Lovely accommodation, so central and brilliantly put together. Will definitely be back!

Absolute GEM. Fantastic coffee and lunch. We were so happy we did not want to leave. The food was so good I had no time to take pics as it just disappeared! Our boys loved the waffles and milkshakes and I was in love the flatbread and the rice dish (forgot the name!). If we are back in the area we will definitely be back!!

Superb breakfast, can be busy - not sure if you can book ahead? Decent coffees, cakes looked amazing but I was too full after the breakfast!

We randomly popped into this licensed funky bar/cafe for a quick bite and a winter warmer. It was a great experience. The tag wishing wall in itself is worth the visit. We both had the shakshuka with sausage and both agreed it was quality. The staff were friendly as and everything was priced as it should be. It’s not a massive place so would fill up quickly in holiday seasons. We loved it and would go back on future visits. Thanks to all the staff for a great experience.

On a bitterly cold day it was a friendly oasis of warmth, great atmosphere and good coffee and cake!

Charlie Friday's provides a bustling atmosphere, particularly noteworthy as one of the only cafes open in the area. Unfortunately, the food was served lukewarm and the bacon was quite hard and chewy which was a real shame. While the staff seemed slightly rushed, it's understandable given the circumstances. On a positive note, the milkshakes and smoothies were delightful, adding a sweet touch to the experience. The vibrant interior adds a lively ambiance, making it a decent option for those seeking a unique and energetic coffee shop setting. Overall, the cafe could do with some improvement on their cooked food, but the drinks menu is definitely their strong point.

You can't beat this place for its food, drink and ambience. Always a fab experience!

I really like the vibe in this cafe, it’s bright and welcoming and dog-friendly. Great smoothies and although not loads of vegan options what they have are delicious.

Disappointing. Looks nice and food was ok but the tables were covered in dirty mugs, a portion of nuts took 30mins to arrive and the young lady on the till was extremely rude to me.'I've only got 2 hands!' When I politely asked whether I could get some milk with my tea. Wouldn't go there again.

Popped in for Pizza Thursday. There were some interesting, unusual combinations which are a change from the usual offerings. The mackerel and crispy seaweed ( with reduced cheese) pizza was excellent, very flavourful, a thin base. The stilton and pear Pizza was declared excellent too. Great cocktails. Good atmosphere

Came for brunch on the strength of a previous excellent visit, but it ends at noon and we were a good deal later. So we had lunch instead, and it was even better! The best bowl of chilli beef nachos I've ever had, and a truly excellent Buddha bowl, both dishes leaving us very content. The decor is very pleasing, the atmosphere relaxed and service friendly, helpful and efficient. One of us requires gluten-free food and they accommodated that easily. Cannot recommend too highly.

The food was very good but the selection of dishes was very limited. We sat downstairs but it wasn't a great choice for a two year old as the staircase was metal, curved and steep. Prices we thought were on the high side and especially £4.75 for a toasted teacake!!!

Visited three times on this holiday. Twice for lunch and once in the evening for the pizza and cocktail night. Excellent 👍. Especially like the Buddha bowls.

My friend and I enjoyed a very pleasant, interesting stop here one midweek afternoon recently. We really loved the great, imaginative surroundings. The staff were very friendly & helpful and we were offered good choices of food and drinks. All in all very enjoyable.

We visited this perfect quirky little eaterie whilst on our holiday, wow the best nachos we have ever eaten and our daughter is vegan loved her meal, staff were very helpful and happy to adapt our food for us. Would definitely recommend this great little cafe 😋 a perfect find

We were visiting and stumbled upon this amazing place on Saturday evening. We ordered pizzas which were amazing, the staff were super friendly and we had an amazing time.

What a gem of a find in the lovely village of Lyndon-we stumbled across it looking for lunch and the food was excellent with fascinating decor. Book in advance for dinner apparently in holiday season.

I really wanted to love this place. But I just didn’t. It wasn’t very busy when I visited so there was no atmosphere and the food took a long time to come out. When it did it was over cooked and I didn’t enjoy it, one member of staff did apologise for it being overdone but that was it. The aesthetic is really nice, they allow dogs, and the staff were friendly but very cliquey. They were more interested in gossiping amongst themselves and while I was eating one member of staff was loudly talking about her recent bowel movements!!! I left feeling quite uncomfortable and wouldn’t go back.

Went here on the first day of our vacation in Lynton for breakfast, were immediately in love with the atmosphere at Charlie Fridays! Food was great, so came back for coffee, mocktail and the most delicious Pear o’ Nuts pizza! Very friendly staff too! Our favorite place in Lynton! Hope to be back!!

What a fantastic find in the heart of old town. Stunning… stunning… stunning coffee, lovely juicy, fresh salads and great people.

Very long time to get served , 45 mins for a pizza , the prices on the website were £12.95 the prices in the restaurant were £14.95, when questioned the answer was “ oh you know inflation.., we always update it outside “ I went outside … it said £12.95 ! Ridiculous nonsense !

Very rude girl behind the bar. Apparently closes at 11 but seems they won’t let you in at the 10:15. Your loss

Wonderful little place, great food and coffee to match. Had some lunch one day of veg nachos and followed the next day with breakfast of mushrooms spinach on toast which was super yum.

Dropped in to this coffee shop and it was pure delight in an instant. Relaxed vibes and great food. I opted for the veggie breakfast and was overloaded with wholesome goodness - Halloumi, mushroom, tomatoes and fried egg on a buster slice of wholemeal. Topped with toasted sunflower seeds and a side of flat white coffee. A true delight and very friendly staff. A must visit!!!

Great spot. Staff were friendly and attentive. Full English was fab and the halloumi fries I had for lunch was also tasty. Wi-Fi was flawless as I was there for some hours working on my laptop. Unlikely I will return to lynton but I know...

Great venue, would have been 5 for food but a little too much Olive Oil on the Sourdough pesto breakfast for us !

Absolutely fabulous, daughter was very happy with her Gluten Free full English breakfast, milkshakes, tea and coffee very good too. Also if it's raining... There's plenty of good board games to play waiting for the rain to pass. Can't recommend highly enough. Went back this year, can now also thoroughly recommend their Nachos with chill.

The best pizza in the area in friendly quirky surroundings with great atmosphere & good music. Also had a mackerel salad on a lunch time visit that was delicious.

Excellent lunch spot if you’re craving a modern, veggie, healthy break from seaside fish and chips. Quirky decor, boho vibe and friendly atmosphere. Plenty of games if you need to wile away some time in bad weather (or good weather if you’re just a game-fiend).

Really cool coffee shop in Lynton. Interior is very hip and the staff were happy for our daughter to play with some of the items (guitars!). Cream tea was very nice with giant scones. Adding rose to the jam and cream was a nice touch too

Pizza & Cocktail night. Very tasty pizza & garlic bread. Very busy so glad I booked. Bit of a wait for the food but only to be expected when cooked fresh to order. Very friendly staff.

An absolutely delightful place. Came across it by accident and so pleased we did. A warm friendly atmosphere without being intrusive. Spotlessly clean everywhere, and a lot of lovely thoughtful touches. Excellent food, and dog friendly, what more could you ask for.

Vegan mushroom, spinach and pesto sourdough bread was melt in your mouth good, shared one between the two of us and it was enough for us. and the coffee was sooooo good. Lovely decor, helpful staff. Would only suggest they make vegan options clearer on the menu.
