Harbour Deli in North Devon

Came here 2 years ago and had to eat here again...such a great atmosphere ,the staff are so nice and the large breakfast was amazing Can't wait to come back

My boyfriend and I were just leaving Coombe Martin and decided to eat at The Harbour Cafe. Kalib served us and he was lovely. I had toasted cheese and tomato and my boyfriend had a sausage and bacon sandwich. It was all made fresh and so worth the wait (not long at all). I can kick myself for not eating there everyday. Boyfriend said it was the best he has had and same with me. Your place is amazing!

Yesterday, 22/09/2024, we visited Combe Martin again, as we loved it so much. We were hungry and wanted to eat before the journey home. We looked around to find a nice cafe. We then found the Harbour Cafe. On entering the cafe, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The tables were laid out beautifully, and the menu was clearly visible on the wall. My wife sat down at our table, and I ordered our food. A lovely, polite, helpful, and welcoming lady served us. When ordering, I was informed that the breakfasts may take a little longer as they are cooked fresh. This was refreshing to hear, but trust me, the wait was very worth it! The flat white and latte we were served were delightful, well made, and served in real china cups and saucers. My wife could not believe how lovely the coffee was, so she ended up ordering two cups—that's how nice it was. My Latte was simply delightful, and I really enjoyed it. Now, on to the breakfast. My wife and I have been to many cosy little places in Devon and Southwest. We have eaten breakfast at other cafes and thought, yes, this is lovely, but OMG, this breakfast was the BEST we have ever had. It was made fresh, very well presented, and HOT! We both really enjoyed our food. It was well worth the money I paid for two large breakfasts. A compliment to the Chef, indeed. If you are reading this review, please eat at The Harbour Cafe, Combe Martin, Devon. It's simply a pleasure to experience this lovely cafe. Thank you to the staff at Harbour Cafe; we will be returning to taste more of your lovely food 10/10, 5 Stars.

Nice little café. Dog friendly, food really good. I had a prawn salad and it was really nice, well prepared, presented and really tasty. Everything is freshly made so no soft old sandwiches.

Attended on a Saturday morning, poorly staffed and took a long long time to be served. Sadly when the food did arrive it was incorrect for one of us. Food was of good quality for the rest of us but it was a shame it took so so long to be served.

Such a lovely little find!! We called on an early Saturday morning so it was nice and quiet. Recieved a friendly warm welcome from the young boy serving. We had coffees, hot chocolates and some of the brownies and flapjacks! Service was excellent! Tasty coffee and delicious fresh cakes. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area.

If there is one place you need to visit in Combe Martin for breakfast then it is The Deli cafe. We had breakfast here for the last 3 days. Bacon, sausage and egg baguette. Super Delicious 😋 Caleb was the young man who was front of house and was brilliant, friendly and made a great cappuccino. So if you want great quality food and service then this is the place to go. Highly recommend.

Went beginning of October and had one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time, let the dog in too !!

We walked in here just after 9 I had a large breakfast which came with tea or coffee the coffee was a small not sure what size the tea was the coffee was very nice we had a second cup which was bigger and has fa's has coffee prices go it was well priced the large breakfast I feel should have been more and the sausages 2 were thin ones I think for the price they should have been the thicker style and locally sourced my wife had the small breakfast which was a good size but the sausages were the same overall the taste was really good the cafe was clean and tidy and it was full of locals so had a really good feel

Lovely little cafe, they serve the best homemade cream teas in Ilfracombe, well worth a visit.

Our breakfast was delicious. This is where the locals eat and that is a tremendous reccomendation. Will always eat here when we're in Combe Martin ❤️

Popped in as we were visiting Combe Martin, this was the most inviting cafe. Very pleasant staff, comfortable surroundings and the freshest ingredients. Very good portion sizes, a wealth of choice for all tastes. We were allowed to take our dog in too. I can’t recommend it enough!

Just had a beautiful full English breakfast 😋....fantastic quality with golden yolk eggs, great coffee and friendly service. My Grand-daughter gave a big thumbs up for the milkshake and Bessie the Sprocker had treats too! Will definitely come again next time we are here.

Decided to take a trip to Combe Martin and stopped in the Deli for a breakfast. I was not disappointed. Although not a vegetarian I decided to try the vegetarian breakfast which also included toast and coffee. The pea and mint fritters,avocado and everything else was really nice. Give it a try.

Visited on Wednesday 30/11/22. After visiting Berrynarbor we made our way the short distance to Coombe Martin and a lovely little tea shop/cafe. It appears it has had a rename as rather than the Harbour Deli it was now named the Harbour Cafe, though I note the Facebook page hasn't been updated. Either way, I doubt it has altered the interior as it is both a cafe and a deli. We enjoyed eating here and found the food and atmosphere very enjoyable. Recommend

A nice set up, decent coffee. Hardly any gluten free options when you keep your gluten free bread in the freezer. Don't be so tight and have some available.

What an absolute delight of a place, staff were friendly and the coffee was piping hot just the way I like it and the cake selection was great, I opted for a cookie cheesecake which was totally delicious, highly recommend this place for any LGBTQ+ travellers.

Stopped on our way home for a breakfast and were not disappointed. My husband had the vegetarian breakfast which he really enjoyed and my regular sized full English was definitely big enough for me. The cafe was fairly busy despite it being a cold March morning, and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area

Sad to find the Harbour Deli is just a Café nowadays, it's nowhere near being a Deli. A delicatessen or deli is a retail establishment that sells a selection of fine, exotic, or foreign prepared foods. The excellent homemade cakes, and the fruit and savoury pies have gone. This is more like Costas with fry-ups here, with inflated prices. Nowadays this establishment is a sandwich and coffee bar serving cooked breakfasts. And by the way, good establishments have trained chefs or cooks, they don't usually have unprofessional amateurs wearing shorts and T-shirts in the kitchen. Moreover, the village of Combe Martin and its Borough Rd strip seems to be circling the drain.

Love it here, great food and drink, friendly staff and lots of vegan and gluten free options. I enjoy every experience I have had here and I would highly recommend it.

What a charming café, really friendly, awesome quality food & coffee for a cracking price. Better still, Full English Veggie Breakie, fit for a King, kept me going all day.

Stopped for a breakfast on a pretty miserable morning and cheered by a lovely cooked breakfast (£9each) with no extra charge for a pot of tea. Clean, tidy and efficient service. Perfect break between showers. X ( Note this cafe is in Coombe Martin, which itself was a little underwhelming but thats because we had just visited Ilfracoombe, Woolacoombe and Montehoe which was particularly charming. And with better weather!) Still, worth a visit x

What can I say, wow I tried the salted caramel chocolate brownie. This is hands down the best brownie I have ever eaten. Try one, you will not be disappointed. Hats off to the chef / cook thank you.

Sorry I didn't give 5 stars. Lovely breakfast this week. Veggy sausages and toast were so tasty. My business however was spoilt as the music was far too loud. I have hearing aids and my ears were ringing when I came out! I had gone for breakfast with my friends and none of us could hear each others conversation. Have music gently in the back ground but please let us enjoy a chat too!

Had lunch here. Great menu and the food was tasty and made fresh. Gorgeous selection of cakes inc dairy free and gluten free options. I bought the lemon polenta cake to take home and it was superb. I would visit Coombe Martin again just to try more food from the menu Not to mention excellent customer service and amazingly clean toilets

I’m very fussy when it comes to breakfast and often avoid a “full English” when eating out bit this was fantastic! Every element tasted like it was home cooked to perfection! The only thing o didn’t eat was the egg and that’s purely because the only eggs I eat are burgers browns or chestnut marray. But that me being extremely fussy! The mushrooms were the best Iv ever tasted and the selection of home made cakes were too good to refuse so I took one home for later! Please try this place for breakfast/ lunch I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! Oh also the coffee is pretty dam good too!

Lovely cafe close to the beach in the centre of Coombe Martin, right next door to the butchers. Visiting in mid-January we were not expecting anything to be open, maybe a pub and a village shop or two, but not alot else so to find the Harbour Deli & Coffee shop being open was a pleasant surprise. A nice cafe serving hot & cold meals and snacks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as cold drinks. Sandwiches freshly made whilst you wait. Friendly staff, impeccably clean and nicely spaced out seating and tables, certainly not cramped. Dogs welcome as well, so we sat on a table looking out onto the street. Prices were very reasonable & it was certainly very popular too 😀.

Had some takeaway pasties which we enjoyed on our coastal path walk. Called in on the way back for cakes-cho chip cookies and Pastel de nata were gorgeous.

North Devon Cafes weirdly work short hours (9am-3pm) but this is one of the few local food businesses that supports locals all year round, and this Deli can actually cook. This is a professional and popular eaterie with a high standard of catering. Their veggie breakfast isn't very good, and it's not really value for money, but there is nowhere better for food locally.

Best baguettes around!! Fresh and a lovely choice of fillings. We look forward to these baguettes every year.

Good service but terrible coffee. Asked for two flat whites. The one made with skimmed milk used UHT milk and both had no foam/volume in the milk. I took the lid off and it was just a very milky coffee.

Stopped for coffee and cake which were both excellent. Paid by card was told it was declined, then paid cash. No phone signal to check my bank on line, as was suspicious, when I checked later the transaction had completed. Felt I had been scammed and should have reacted to my gut feel. Be careful.
