I booked for Sunday dinner last Sunday and said I was Vegan. To my delight the owner / chef cooked a Vegan option for me and it was first class. Everyone of us found the Sunday dinner amazing. 1000% recommended 👌!

We came for Sunday lunch today and are very glad we did. This is a proper British pub serving genuine home cooked food at very reasonable prices. We both had the roast beef which was served with plenty of mixed vegetables and fantastically crispy roast potatoes. Everything piping hot which is a good trick if you can do it as my carrots or something or other is always lukewarm when I cook a roast at home. The home made apple pie and chocolate cheesecake were delicious. With 2 pints of lager all for £40 I think you'd struggle to get better value at a national branded volume microwaved chain place. If your travelling to the area and want a warm welcome and a proper meal I highly recommend it.

Such a friendly pub and great home cooked food! We were looking for a pub with a skittle alley to take my mum on her 80th birthday as she loves playing skittles. Lisa couldn’t have been more helpful on the phone and we organised to have the skittle alley to ourselves plus a sit down meal for 12 in the dining room. Lisa & Scott were so welcoming on the evening and we all had a brilliant time. The food was perfectly cooked with fresh vegetables. We would thoroughly recommend!

The Windsor Arms is a small pub in Bradiford, a village on the edge of Barnstaple. It is simply one of the friendliest warm and welcoming old fashioned real pubs we have been in. Great pub food over the weekend. Local real ales, exceptional Guinness, and some great local characters who made us and our dog very welcome. The landlord and lady go out their way to go the extra mile to make it a most enjoyable experience and the skittle alley was an extra bonus for our grandsons

The Windsor Arms is located in a quiet street in Bradiford Barnstaple. It is a traditional pub with a restaurant style room as well. The staff were very friendly and welcoming as was the landlady and her husband. We were there for Sunday lunch which is a fixed price including sweet (homemade). The portion sizes were very good and the food was well cooked and served with a large selection of vegetables. Of course wine and beers are available. There was only a selection of two meats and two sweets so choice for some may be limited. The streets in the area are narrow so parking can be difficult but a little walk is rewarded with a fine meal.

Went for early supper tonight. Dogs made welcome- even given dog biscuits. Dogs in bar not restaurant but you can eat in bar and it was very comfy Old fashioned style pub, no frills, but very friendly and great value. Good menu of basic pub food and some more interesting stuff, with a really good veggie selection and even a gluten free meal. Spag Bol was very good, 12 year old hoovered it down. Burgers were excellent. Seriously under priced - £5.50 for a damned fine burger with 3 toppings. The wife and I both had bacon Stilton and mushrooms and the toppings were generous. Good home made chips as well. Meal for 4 £32 and we were too stuffed for pudding. Also a juke box that has 80s music.... heaven Would definitely go back.

If you are looking for a small pub in North Devon that's a few minutes from Barnstaple's town centre but away from the hustle and bustle of the town and summer tourists The Windsor Arms is where we go. The pub is run by Lisa and Scot who will do their best to make you welcome. The public bar is a very typical small rural family run pub venue with dart board and accoutrements of a village pub. Out the back is one of many of North Devon's skittle allies where several times a week locals play. If you ask I am sure you will be able to have a go perhaps taking a drink and bar snack out to the alley. The lounge is homely and doubles as a well run restaurant. The atmosphere is cosy. The food is good and cooked to order off a limited but good menu which goes from bar snack to steaks. This menu is augmented by a specials board. There is a nice selection of house wines and beers. We love going there.

We have struggled to find a good Sunday lunch in Barnstaple for a while now and usually have to travel a few miles outside to the country pubs, but I can safely say that the Windsor arms is a little gem. My girlfriend had the pork £8.95 and I had the mixed meat pork and beef at £9.95 both with choice of dessert. It was lovely and served with a great selection of what my girlfriend calls the best roast potatoes ever, a swede and potato mash, cabbage and other veg. The crackling was luscious and all topped off with as much gravy to fill an Olympic sized inflatable paddling pool. The service was also great, prompt and served with a smile. I would recommend.

I have struggled to find a "proper" roast dinner locally in Barnstaple but went to the Windsor with g/f for Sunday lunch last week and had two fantastic roast beef dinners. The meat was cooked perfectly, the roast potatoes were crispy, the veg was seasonal, the Yorkshire pudding was fantastic and this was all tied together with a flavoursome and moreish gravy. The staff were friendly and attentive, even bringing out a few more spuds and gravy to cater for my gluttony! The desserts were all tempting and the homemade Oreo ice cream (me) and toffee bread and butter pudding (her!) made it a very pleasing and satisfying conclusion to a thoroughly enjoyable meal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this friendly pub restaurant. You feel welcome on arrival and full on your exit. We had two mains and two desserts for £15, which proved great value. If you like good traditional food, a friendly smile and exceptional value..... get to the Windsor. We'll certainly be heading back.
