Nartnapa Thai - Cottage Inn in North Devon

We had a lovely early evening meal. The food was well cooked, very tasty and freshly cooked. The service was very good and very polite. We would recommend this restaurant for a very good priced meal.

Went here on a Thursday night early October. Quite busy so worth booking. Check their winter hours for opening times. Really lovely meal - authentic Thai made with fresh ingredients. Duck red curry delicious and Pad Thai and noodle dishes all yummy. Generous portions and really nice crockery which helps set it off. Lovely atmosphere and great, friendly service. Would highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely loved it here, great food, warm welcome, friendly staff and lovely ambiance in this olde worlde establishment. The curries were fabulous made using such fresh and good quality ingredients. So nice to have different food and a change from everywhere that sells chips! Just to note that this establishment is slightly out of Lynton/Lynmouth and the car parking access is narrow. Was thankful that we got a taxi!

Fantastic food served by lovely staff. Nice venue but quite hot with a roaring fire. Lovely prawn crackers. Pad Thai was so tasty and I’ve never tasted such delicious duck in the duck curry.

The food was delicious - great vegan and meat options. We were really impressed with the service, so friendly and efficient which made the whole experience great!

We decided to book again following our last stay in Lynton and Lynmouth in 2016 , we had another delicious curry , the waitress was lovely and the chef had no problems getting my husband more rice , we took our dog who was made welcome. Recommend the Thai green curry , fab thank you

We ate at this beautiful Thai restaurant during our stay in Lynmouth. Service and food were incredible. Certainly not too be missed, roaring log burner greeted us together with lovely friendly staff. The food was up there with the best Thai food. Would certainly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Here just for food, which was great. We had the Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Pannang, which had a good kick to it.

This might have been the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Service was great, too. I felt very welcome despite wearing hiking gear and looking a bit rough after a long day on the SW Coast Path.

This is our second visit and we’d always make a beeline here if we’re in the area. The food is bursting with flavour and the service is friendly. We had the mixed starters then the chicken & cashew stir fry, chicken pad Thai and prawn red curry with Jasmine rice followed by coconut ice cream and sticky toffee pudding and caramel ice cream. Everything was fresh, bursting with flavour and beautifully presented- even the side salads! Service was perfect with ample breaks in between. Highly recommended

We have stayed in Lynton three times over the past few years & we always make a point of eating here. The staff are very welcoming & the service is good. The ace in the pack is the food - it’s delicious. The menu is quite small but the most popular Thai dishes are on it. We started with prawn crackers & dip, followed by duck spring rolls which were very good. For mains I had a prawn green curry and my partner had chicken pad thai. My curry was packed with juicy prawns & was just perfect, my partner didn’t get a word out of me as I ate it. Her pad thai was delicious also (I had a taste) and we were far too full to manage a desert. I always watch the deserts being served & they looked like modern art. Everyone cleared their plates or dishes. Price wise it was very reasonable

Lovely location and pub. The staff went above and beyond for my onion allergy and made me feel a lot more confident about eating out again! I had the chicken stir fry with ginger sauce, one of the best I've ever had! Thank you to everyone at Nartnapa :)

Gorgeous Thai fare in the small hamlet of Lynbridge, a stones throw from Lynton. Well worth the visit, not open all week round so best to book beforehand as it can get quite busy.

Amazing food. We was so lucky to have Thai kitchen across the road from the cottage. Tasted so authentic and was just mind blowing. Pam the chef sa so lovely and friendly. Please never stop cooking your food is outstanding. Tree tops cottage.

Excellent Vegetable (Vegan) Pannang Curry and Pork Pannang Curry tonight for take away. Vegan vegetable spring rolls were not as good, but the combination of spices on the curry was just right. Thanks, we enjoyed it! Sebastian

Excellent Thai food restaurant, service was also very good for a busy Friday evening, our waitress couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We were staying at the campsite next door and will definitely be back to the site just for this restaurant.

Staff were really accommodating and genuinely wanted to help you get the best experience. The food was so delicious, presented beautifully and the ingredients were so fresh. We had a beautiful view over the river and enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

A friendly and well located pub with a focus on home cooked Thai food. The only downsides are a limited menu choice and above average prices. Food quality abd service are both good but it would benefit from a wider range of msim course options.

Really lovely evening meal - made it extra spicy for us! Such warm and welcoming people. Also really enjoyed the energy in the bar area where locals were celebrating together. And we could bring our dog too!

We booked last minute for a meal at the restaurant. Service was amazing and extremely accommodating. We asked to have a drink before our meal, even though it was late, they were extremely pleasant and allowed us to sit for a drink before we sat for our meal. The food was amazing! Fresh and gorgeous. Fantastic thai food and pub in Lynton. The food is delicious with an abundance of flavours, the panang curry was outstanding. Good selection of beers from the bar, the staff are extremely friendly, small tip, don’t put a blackcurrant in a cosmopolitan it doesn’t belong there! This is not a negative just advice.

Had a cracking evening at The Cottage Inn. After a long day walking the South West Coast Path, they fit me and my party of 4 in for late dinner service. The pub and restaurant staff were really friendly, the food was fantastic and they even made a decent mojito! I can't wait to come back again.

So let's start from the minute you walk in the door. Friendly welcome from the girl who is front of house. Kirsty I think is her name, but not entirely sure (sorry!). This lady is so nice and professional in her position. Makes it seem like nothing is a problem. Seating allocated to accommodate us having dogs with us and food and drink order taken at the table - perfect. Wide selection of drinks available, very good choice. Food - in a word - outstanding. We have always had a good meal, left full and always pleased with the high standards. Our favourite is the starter sharing platter which is quite simply bursting with flavour. All fresh ingredients and really comes through in the taste. Excellent presentation each time we eat there. I think the icing on the cake this time was the little treats presented for the dogs on our table. As if the team were not doing their best already to welcome in guests, then this just put you 110% ahead of any of your competitors. Well done Team Cottage. You are marvelous ✨️

Stunning Thai food. Great amber draught on top. Excellent service. We came as a group of 13 with a bunch of kids and they were really accommodating with friendly and kind service. We all agreed that it was the Best Thai food we have eaten.

Stayed at the campsite next door rang to book a table for our 25th no answer they rang back shortly after just to tell us they were shut for renovation work.but like an absolute legend he opened the doors just to sell me some takeaway IPA red wine and crisps, Anniversary saved many thanks I would give 10 🌟⭐✨🌟⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨

Absolute gem. Traditional feeling pub with exceptional Thai cuisine. Staff were happy, helpful and friendly. The clientele was a mix of visitors and locals. There are so many tourist traps in this area, but this is definitely not one of them. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic food, fantastic service and fantastic atmosphere! Saw great reviews about this restaurant and knew we had to try it. The food was incredible, and such great value for money. I have been to Thailand and the food was on par. Thank you for a wonderful evening. The only fault we had was the wait times, however it was a very busy Saturday night so we could understand, just made us more excited for our next dish.

Food and beer is absolutely stunning. Beer is regularly brewed on site and easily the best in the local area. Thai food is amazing. Been several times while camping next door and will definitely go again.

We had the Tom Yum soup and Seafood Pad Thai and both were absolutely delicious, fresh tasting with good portions and plenty of seafood in the Pad Thai. The staff are friendly and it's a stunning location. What more can you ask for? I'm definitely going back next time I'm in the area.

this is such a lovely pub i stay next door at sunny lyn and come in here every eveing gary and the gang are great people who make you feel welcome and the locals are freindly try it you wont be dissapointed

The food at this restaurant is superb. We shared an excellent Pork Green Curry, Vegetable Pad Thai and Jasmine Rice between two. With a couple of starters it was plenty. We both had a couple of drinks each and it came to about £70. It was worth it! The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. The service was exceptional. Friendly staff who were attentive and efficient. We will definitely eat here again when we are next in the area.

Visited last night after a long drive from London. Perfect place to go for good, fresh Thai food. Excellent food, friendly staff and a great selection of local beers/ales. Courses were well timed and cooked fresh.

An amazing little pub restaurant with the most incredible staff - this is without doubt amongst the nicest and most welcoming customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The food was also brilliant - Thai is probably my favourite cuisine, and having been to Thailand myself I can say that this is some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. We had the duck spring rolls and the green curry, and they were absolutely perfect. 100% recommended.

Authentic, tasty great Thai food. Lovely surprise. The setting is right by the river and staff are very friendly and attentive. The food price is expensive, but we'll worth it.

It's ok. Food is good but way too overpriced. £18 for veggie green curry and rice is hard to justify. Appreciate what's written on the website about the background to the place and the chef etc, but it's arrogant to think that justifies charging that much for what wasn't particularly special or certainly no better than more reasonably priced equivalents elsewhere. £8 for 3 spring rolls, £4 for a small portion of steamed rice and £14 for a green curry with some brocoli and green beans. Tasty, but soured by extortion.

I had the Pork Penang, it was superb! The staff are really friendly, there was little wait for the food to come out. Also really nice coffee to finish the meal off. They did have desserts, but I was so happy with the main I wanted to continue basking in the glow of a glorious dish. Definitely a must visit if in the area.

Superbe expérience culinaire qui aurait toute sa place dans le prochain Routard ! On y arrive à pieds depuis Lynton par un petit chemin bucolique : le Lynway. Au bord de la rivière, un doux mélange de pub anglais avec de bonnes bières brassées sur place, et de délicieuses spécialités thaïlandaises joliment dressées, concoctées avec des produits frais. Assez inattendu mais pari très réussi ! Atmosphère absolument charmante, à ne pas manquer si vous êtes de passage à Lynton.

Fantastic sunday roast and great ale. So good went back yesterday and had excellent thai food that all the family really enjoyed.

What an absolute gem! We had dinner here and spent a delightful evening in front of the log burner with good beer and delicious Thai food. The staff were very friendly and obliging, the place had a lovely buzz without feeling busy and the food was amazing- we particularly recommend the fish cakes starter and the pannang curry!

Absolutely fantastic food! We had to move our table booking back an hour on the day, but the staff couldn't be more helpful and understanding if they tried. Such a nice quiet relaxing place to enjoy a superb meal. We will definitely be returning for more!

Very expensive £18 for 1 small spring roll, 1 chicken wing, 2 small pieces of squid, and a small fish cake. Seafood Stirfry on contained prawns and was bland tasting as was fried rice. We won't be returning!!!!!

We stopped in to Nartnapa on a trip to Lynmouth and I can quite comfortably and confidently say it was the best Thai food I've ever eaten in the UK. The pub/restaurant sits beautifully next to the river running down to the sea, it has a lovely oldy world feeling inside, is nice and clean with a good selection of drinks. All the staff we dealt with and spoke too were friendly, warm and welcoming and served all our food and drinks quickly and with a smile. The cream on top without a doubt was the food, which was brilliant. The prawn ramen bowl I had was so good, I could eat two back to back. Portion sizes were generous, every dish was presented well, cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We will undoubtedly return, we were so impressed.

A nice little Thai restaurant in a local pub. Good beer selection and a basic menu that covered the usual favourites.

Read glowing reviews, but virtually every piece of the beef in the beef stir fry was so grissly I had to leave the half chewed portions on the plate. I pointed this out and was told we could get a discount, which on examination of the bill amounted to £1.50 on a £15.75 dish. Eventually they gave us one free beer too. I think what really struck me is that we were told that the chef had no idea of what the quality of the meat she ordered would be like until she cooked it - so much for being a fastidious chef!

Very disappointing, queuing for the buffet was chaos, there were no plates and very poorly organised. Where we were sat was like a tin shack, with a chipboard wooden wall. Plates were not cleaned away from our table. And not at all what we were expecting after reading the reviews. The food was “nice” but overpriced!

Coming from Guildford a there being numerous Thai restaurants this has beaten them all!! The starter of Squid and Fish cakes was fresh and tasty to the main, Pad Thai noodles and Green Curry! Hot, delicious, taste buds tingling!!!! Best ever tasted!!! Highly recommend this old style pub for its hidden tastes 😋 oh and great own brewed beer🍻!

The best Thai I have ever had. A completely unexpected find but the food was phenomenal.

I was hesitant to begin with as the vegetable spring rolls that I had for starters was tasteless but the mains were tasty and full of flavour. I had the Chicken Pannang Curry which was delicious and my partner had Flame Grilled Chicken Breast which he also liked. Staff are friendly too. I would definitely return if I was in town.
