Lovely Old Pub perfectly furnished. The lovely Staff make it welcoming comfortable and Cosy. Excellent Varied Menue. I went for the Mushroom Aranchini - (my first and delicious) not having a huge appetite with a portion of Truffle Chips in case the Starter didn’t quite fill me . The Mushroom Aranchini would have sufficed quite well - but the chips were lush even though I could not manage the last couple. My Husband had the Steal and Ale Pie which was superb as were the vegtables.

Lovely rustic atmosphere, welcoming staff and very good food. (We’ve been in for lunch and dinner.) The pub is located in an area with breathtaking scenery, offering a number of magnificent walks straight from the door. It’s dog-friendly and, each time we ate there, the staff booked us a corner table, ensuring that our dog also enjoyed his visit. We will return!

It’s a nice pub, with the corporate beers, nothing really special. They claim to do food but you have to order before 8pm, when they strictly, with no exceptions, even if its 8:10pm will not sell to anything to eat, which was surprising. So i cannot rate the food.

This is a lovely pub. Not only is the food delicious and the service cheerful but they also open at times and on days when most local hostelries cannot be bothered. Thank-you Blue Ball!!

Really disappointing meal. Ordered fish pie. Didn't look appetising and was 90% mashed potato. I managed to find 1 prawn and maybe 2 chunks of fish. Disgusting for around £20. Service really wasn't great either

I am really disappointed. We booked via the online form and requested a nice table since it was a meal for my partner's birthday. Unfortunately, we were seated at the worst table with the most uncomfortable seats compared to the others. To make matters worse, the waitress informed us there were no mussels available, which was the main reason we chose this restaurant. I ordered the Spanish chicken, and it was probably the worst meal I've ever had. It consisted of a chicken breast cut open, packed with cream cheese, and grilled, without any sauce. It was served on top of a few potatoes, green beans, three pieces of chorizo, and raw cherry tomatoes—a very strange dish. Overall, just really, really disappointed.

Being local we have eaten at the Blue Ball many times, however we were very disappointed on our last visit. I requested a bottle of Lyme Bay Sparkling Rose Brut as advertised at the top of the wine choices as a local favourite, only to be told they did not have any. Next I chose a Strawberry Daiquiri which they did not have the ingredients for!! Time to order food - I asked for a Tomato & Quinoa Side Salad, they had no Quinoa, I asked for the side salad with all the other ingredients and received a bowl with lettuce leaves, cherry tomatoes and cucumber (no kale, no broad beans, no brown rice, no spring onion, no carrot, no pomegranate seeds). As my main course I had the Crab & Chilli Linguine which contained only two chunks of crab meat, which makes a pasta dish expensive at £23.00. The service time was really slow - 40 minutes for our starter even though we were the first people to be seated and served. Overall time for our 3 course meal was 3 hours which seemed excessive. We hope the service time improves as it is one of our favourite local eateries.

Stumbled across the cafe when we arrived in Ilfracombe and needed coffee. Quaint and characterful and clearly has it's regular customers. Coffee was good and hot but the homemade Eccles cake was amazing! The other treats looked good too. Coming across The Naked Cake cafe was the best thing about Ilfracombe which was otherwise, tatty and very down at heel.

Most staff helpful & friendly. One member of staff who greeted us on arrival wasn't welcoming. Only a couple of minor things- rusty toilet roll holder which spoilt the rest of the very new bathroom & the shelf above sink is in the way. Suggestion - small fridge, there is room. Mirror near plug sockets. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Looking through the window showed it was full but a table of four had just got up so we sat in their seats :) We all had the Breakfast at £11 each. Couldn’t fault the meal at all, plenty on the plate and locally sourced. Really good selection of coffee, tea and fresh orange 🍊 juice. Highly recommended Get a seat and order at the counter. Very pleasant polite service as well. Seating outside. Well done 👏👏
