Ordered a takeaway, special rice bland and tasteless, vegetable korma tasteless watery and bland, aloo gobi tastless and bland, chips thin fries soggy and horrible.only thing was palatable was the naan bread. Most of the .eal ended up in the bin ,total waste of money.
Took a long time to receive our meals after the awkward start trying to work out if someone would come take our order or if we needed to go to the bar. Cheese was burnt on the salad and tasted like charcoal but rest of the meal was nice
I must say I’m amazed that this store has received any negative reviews. I generally order via click and collect and my chosen flat white is always ready when I arrive. The staff are always upbeat, friendly and helpful and the coffee is great too.
This 5 star rating is for the breakfast service i use after dropping off the kids at school.
Well worth a breakfast trip.
However I cannot comment on the rest of the meals available there.
We visited Clark’s Shopping Village today and went into Frankie & Benny’s for lunch. We had 5 adults and a 1yr old.
We ordered 4 main courses and three starters to have as a main course. We were asked if we would like the starters as a main and we said yes.
The starters arrived but none of the other food did. We were told they were just waiting for the chicken and the other meals would be out. We looked at the pass and could see a main meal there that was the same as one of the ones we had ordered, but we assumed that was for another table. 15mins or so passed and the main meal was still there. They then put the rest of our meals up and bought all of the meals to the table. We queried the meal that had been sat on the pass for ages. They apologised and said they would take it back. Under 2mins later they arrived with what they told us was a new meal. We queried it again and we’re assured they had done us a fresh one. The meal was for my 74 year old mum, she assured us the meal was fine, but she does not like to make a fuss so we were not sure. Mum only ate half the meal, as she was worried it was still the same meal and we have a 2 hour drive home. My hubby tried her meal and he is convinced they just gave her back the same meal, as it came out far too quickly. They reduced our bill but the looks we were getting from the staff were not good. Why did they not just bring us the meal when it was ready as we already had one meal
This was the destination pub an upmarket eaterie .Before COVID we used to go 2-3 times a month. Food was classic but inventive and staff were experienced and knowledgeable. Over the last few years we’ve been a couple of times and have been disappointed with the food. We tried it again for Valentines Night and will never go again. The menu was so boring. The food was overpriced inadequate and under seasoned . The Talbot must be one of the loveliest pubs in the South West of England it’s such a shame. Decidedly gone downmarket.
Took my Grandson to Rugby in Bath so popped in for something to eat. Saw the mixed reviews so was not sure about the place. However, we had nothing but excellent service. Easy to order from the bar. The internet was working to well to order at the table.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Drinks arrived quickly after ordering.
Food was just has quick. Lots of it. Hot and tasty. We both enjoyed the experience. Would go again.
Excellent position and a lovely building. Very pleasant restaurant with plenty of room between the tables. Service was attentive and we didn't have to wait long between courses. We both chose the steak frites which was fine but not the best in my experience, hence the dropping of one star. We would however visit again if we were in the area.
Awful service. We booked a table for the six of us and we were all really looking forward to the meal, as we’ve always thought that it looks like a lovely restaurant. We were waiting for over half an hour before our drink orders were taken and another 30 minutes before they appeared. We ordered two charcuterie and cheese boards as starters between us and it took over 40 minutes for these to come out. When they came out, each board only had two tiny pieces of cheese which had clearly been broken off a slab a cheese rather than cut. At £18 each these were extremely disappointing. We were then waiting another 45 minutes for our mains and when they came out our starter plates etc had not even been cleared. We had been in the restaurant for almost 4 hours by the time we left as a result of the long wait for any service. The restaurant wasn’t exactly busy and the staff were standing around most of the time. We asked to take off the service charge at the end of the meal due to the poor experience and the waitress was rude and did not apologise for the poor service. Will not be returning.

It’s a nice Costa but always something wrong.. now got staff ensuring its sll correct. I’ve been given a milkshake.. no coffee just ice cream and milk.. having to count change to buy a shot of espresso.
First visit. Stopped by this small shopping area to get supplies from Tesco Express and noticed Codswallop so decided to try it out. We both had the freshly cooked cod which was delicious, in fact it was the best I have had in ages. The service was swift and friendly. Will certainly return here again when in the neighbourhood. It is a 'carry out' restaurant so we ate our meal in the car overlooking the grass and trees.
Ordered fish , chips , mushy peas and mild curry to take out . The food was inedible . The fish was dry and overcooked the batter tasted disgusting like it had been fried in dirty oil . The chips were dry and looked like they had been cooked and warmed up about 3 times . The peas were so green they looked nuclear . The curry was so mild it had no taste . Now I have been here before and not had a problem but the ingredients are definitely cheap and nasty and the cook needs lessons . I will not be going back .
I don't like leaving bad reviews, but unfortunately I have to this time. I like to support small businesses. Popped in for lunch on Friday. We waited over 45 minutes for 2 coffees. Then the food came 5 mins later. We always say we don't mind waiting a while for the food if we have some drinks to sup on... I hoped the food would be worth waiting for, but sadly not! I chose the brie, bacon and cranberry panini. Each half had just HALF a slice of bacon and the tiniest slither of brie I couldn't even taste it!! The bread was very dry and tasteless. The coffees were tiny, but very nice. It was our first visit and I had high hopes, but was thoroughly disappointed, sadly.
