Starbucks in Mendip

I have visited this Starbucks 3 times now. Every time the toilets were a disgrace. No toilet roll water on floor (I hope it was water!) Today the cafe area was so humid and smelly I left and bought some very nice food and drink from the M and S shop on site. Avoid at all costs

I went to Starbucks Saturday night around 11ish after long shift as I work for NHS. I ask the guy who was Serving me at drive-through for my blue light discount as I am quite regular and most of the staff know me there and many times they have seen my ID by luck I forgot my blue light card at work .This person I have never seen there before his name was Mighal maybe with some other spelling but he was super rude and mannerless person he started arguing with me. I don’t mind if they don’t give me discount, but I don’t like if somebody will misbehave and talk like illiterate. I am giving 1 Star because of that guy. Because he ruined all my experience of that night if he couldn’t give me the discount I don’t mind but the way he was talking to me that was a fail of customer servicing and I will advise Starbucks team don’t keep staff like him in your team as people like him will spoil all your business and reputation.

Always find the staff helpful, plenty of regulars - a good sign. Unfair for some reviews to blame the staff for how customers treat the WCs. Some of the specials aren’t to my taste; but that’s the recipes, so stick to what you know!

Sorry to say it’s a hate of mine to be served coffee in a paper cup when I purposely went to have coffee and lunch with my daughter When I said I was dining in and didn’t want a paper cup I was told I couldn’t have one because the dish washer had broken !! I know it doesn’t sound a big gripe but to me when I’m spending £35 odd on three coffees and some paninis I want a proper cup If I had been told this before I paid I would have left

Paid for large drink - they gave me a small one! Not great as you do not receive what you paid for. Very crafty good way to increase profits

Lovely coffee and pastries. Unfortunately, the toilets are a disgrace. Are there no cleaning materials available at Frome?

Bought two hot chocolate's to take away and they were undrinkable so had to throw them away, complete waste of money. Was here last week and the coffee was so bad I threw that away too. Staff seemed to have changed so not sure they know how to make drinks properly.

Very Good and speedy service. Staff is nice and never stopped us from using the toilets as we had an issue at the hotel next to cafe.

Visited this weekend and found the toilets to be running in urine all over the gents floor. The smell was disgusting. My wife found the ladies' toilets to be barely any better. Calcium deposits from urine on the underside of the seat suggest a lack of cleaning regime. As a food and drink establishment, I would expect a higher standard. We visited the O2 Arena in Bristol, with a higher cleanliness standard with a greater footfall.

My favourite little stop in Beckington is Starbucks. Not a huge coffee fan, but I do like their seasonal flavours. The Eggnog one at christsmas is pretty amazing and the Pumpkin spice one in the Autumn is very welcoming. The area is on the old Little Chef site, its all been updated and is fresh and new inside, no more sticky carpets and the toilets have been updated. It's not a toilet stop though, you have to buy before you can use the toilets. We try and go twice a month, for a cosy chat and a large hot drink. Its quality time in a mug! Oh and the Customer service is amazing here, I forgot my money one day at the till and the lady behind me, paid for it, I didn't even know her, and because she did that, the Manageress gave her, the works, she didn't pay for her order at all. How great is that?!

Popped in for a quick early morning coffee and breakfast roll - all good and served quickly. Toastie was served hot and drinks were fine. Clean and inviting environment

Average coffee. Stressed but pleasant colleagues. Ridiculous wait time. No china cups available. Floor grubby. Sixteen minutes is too long to wait for a cappuccino!

The staff were friendly and service was fast. Had a strawberry and cream frappe, it was very bland. Had take away so could not go back unfortunately. But head office more than helpful to resolve.

Lovely coffee and food nothing wrong with staff at all. Definitely worth going for food or drink 5/5 stars ❤️

Despite being very short staffed a lady called Star was working exceptionally hard with just two young girls working with her. She apologised to all customers about the wait which obviously wasn’t her fault and served everyone with a smile 😊

We have used this Starbucks many times before and it’s always been fine. Stopped today and it was awful. Walked in past a lovely sign stating what lovely Christmas food they had. Got to the counter and it was virtually empty. Settled on a sandwich as there wasn’t much to choose from. The guy came back and removed the ‘show’ sandwich from the display and explained they were out of sandwiches. Tried to order a peach iced tea they had no green tea made up? Don’t they make it from scratch like Costa? The two gingerbread lattes were Luke warm no sprinkles. All in all very over priced and not worth the visit.

We frequently grab coffee from this Starbucks. It is easy to order, both traditionally and using the app. We always find both the store and car park to be clear and clean. The staff are friendly and almost always make time for a chat. Special mention to Star who is genuinely one of the loveliest people. She greets all the regulars by name, is always smiling and brightens our day every time we see her.

Pop in here for take out coffee from time to time when passing through. Ordered 2x lattes. When I got to car and we started drinking we found that both had an unusually large amount of froth, at least quarter of the drink ! So our Grandes that we had paid for were really just Talls Both coffees tasted burnt and scalding hot. Totally undrinkable. The whole experience cost us £7.10, not a cheap treat. We had two toddlers in the car and the queue in store was out the door so we really couldn't justify going back to complain. Staff clearly arent barista trained. Safe your money and get a Costa out the gas station machine

Starbucks UK never lives up to Starbucks USA Beckington highlights this never quite the service. Order a Blonde roast, did not get it. Toilets could be better. Staff never as welcoming and jolly as their US counterparts!

Popped in for a coffee whilst staying at the Travelodge. Considering there is still a pandemic, floors were dirty and full of food; most tables had used plates, cups etc. Three staff behind counter at the time so what is that all about!

El and Star severed us very well and were helpful with allergy information on the milks and understanding of this so never felt like a problem. Many previous reviews are 1 person giving a hate stuff please ignore. Lovely staff.

I have been to this Starbucks before and was a lot better service especially from Georgie the manager. Disappointed that she is no longer with the business as my experience this time was awful. The staff there was rude and the conversation they were having were not appropriate for the customers to hear. It took 20 minutes to revive my coffee as they were to busy talking to each other which they still got wrong as I asked for no choc on my cappuccino. When asked for a refund I was told no as they will rectify my order. I was not happy and will not be returning.

Was staying at travelodge and this was the only place to get a decent Coffee and a warm lunch m&s is available but refuse to shop there. The team was great and had a smile on there faces great coffee as always.

I bring my autism family members here and it is now their favourite place to go, a huge thank you to ALL of the staff for making it a great place to visit :)

Service by unfriendly staff, coffee barely tepid and had to ask for cakes we’d ordered. We were only ones in queue not exactly rushed off their feet. Also floors dirty and tables not wiped down between customers, crumbs everywhere, in the current climate not acceptable. Will never go there again!

I've been here a few times the coffee (Standard Filter) and it's either not ready or cold. There is an older lady who works there who clearly wasn't taught to say please or thank you ! She has a miserable attitude and often stands chatting rather than serving customers which seems to put the poor old girl out .....Won't go back

I was staying at travelodge recently and popped into Starbucks for a breakfast snack and drink - considering the time in the morning the staff were so lovely! Had a nice little chat and the drink was amazing! Would definitely recommend!

We go here quite often and the lovely Sally even remembers what drink I like when I forget what it was. V nice staff and nice environment inside.

Always great service and great quality made drinks here, I visit this branch on a regular basis as the evening teams are always polite, friendly and up for a laugh. Highly recommend for a one-off visit or even regular visits like myself!

Normally come in here on my way to bath, on my morning commute, however I’m normally greated by 3 usual women, who never look 100% happy, and annoyed when a customer comes, and interrupts there gossip, however out of the norm, I came in after work, was served by two lovely young men, rob and Antony, amazing customer service !! Great laugh and had amazing knowledge on their drinks, they deserve more recognition for there helpRJ

Regulars here always friendly , always helpful , always good coffee & clean toilets the best Bucks around !

We had a school group of 16 staying at the adjacent Travelodge and everyone was pretty happy with breakfast on the two mornings we stayed. I had the all day breakfast roll and pain au chocolat (warmed up) and they were nice. The granola and yogurt pots were enjoyed by colleagues. Useful breakfast venue for Travelodge guests.

Often stop in here once or twice a day whilst commuting. It's you typical Starbucks serving typical Starbucks fayre. Can get busy at times which impacts service. But the only thing I'd liek to draw management's attention to is the state of the toilets - it's usually very wet in the gents :(

Just off the A36 Beckington bypass, at the north roundabout and situated behind the new recently opened BP / M&S; Simply Food station. This Starbucks is a new site and is clean and neatly laid out. Usual good coffee and eats. What's not to like!

This is a relatively new addition to the A36 and whilst in its early days it was worth a visit, a nice place to sit and relax it is becoming a bit tired and sad. What’s worse the queue is still too long

Just bad unfriendly service. Expect a bit more for the price you pay. Very dirty seating area and bad smelling toilets.

It’s a nice modern and inviting pit stop on the A36. Unfortunately the service was very slow. It took about 20 minutes queuing to get served and the tables hadn’t been cleared or cleaned. Get your act together Starbucks.

Visited on Thursday 13/09/18 at 11am. Wished I had looked for the name of the guy who served us, he was so helpful and friendly. Coffee was great and our other purchase requests were handled in a really friendly and efficient way!

I have been here several times now and each time the service levels have been totally unacceptable. First of all you feel like you are intruding when you ask for coffee. Sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt your chatting session.

The staff are rude, have no customer service skills and quite frankly behave like they don’t want to be there. Always gossiping between themselves and ignoring the customer, they all need re-training. Everytime that I have been here they get my order wrong, yes the occasional mistake can happen but it’s literally EVERYTIME. I won’t be going here anymore!!!!

I don’t write many reviews but I’m sat in Starbucks now and the I have received the most unwelcome and unwanted service ever.

Need more seating outside as we have a dog & there was only one which was taken such a lovely big coffee place to stop at

A very spacious venue that serves all the usual drinks.There are some tables to sit at but perhaps the addition of a few more would improve the place even more.The staff sometimes can come over as 'dour' but once you speak to them they are willing to interact with you back.As I have written, a few more comfortable places to sit would improve the ambience of the site.

I've been here a few times now and up until now the service has been good but today the member of staff who served me couldn't care less, she needs more training on good customer service. I asked for a coffee and a Danish pastry, firstly I asked if I could have the pastry at the front - there were two and one was much smaller than the other, I was hungry, hadn't had any breakfast and was paying a good price - why should I opt for the smaller one which didn't look as fresh anyway. She asked if I'd like it heated up - no thank you. It was very stale & dry - I didn't say anything as I wasn't in the mood for complaining and asked for a cookie instead, she said that was quick, I said yes, its very stale, she replied - "Yes that's why I asked if you wanted it heated" they are very dry, it didn't just taste dry it was stale like it was left over from another day. I've never had a heated Danish pastry before so she obviously knew they were stale tasting to start with. I would expect them to say I needn't pay for the replacement as this was their product that didn't meet the standard but no she just completely ignored the fact that I wasn't happy and I ended up paying almost £9 for coffee and cake - hence I won't be returning in a hurry and certainly wouldn't recommend.

Senior management and I stopped here for coffee en route south.
