Stop by late on a Friday afternoon for an early evening meal. Managed to get a table outside sheltered from the sun. Ordered from the bar and our meals arrived within twenty minutes. Staff we encountered were friendly and the prices for food and drinks were exceptional.

Always good, perhaps a little understaffed right now but that it is to be expected given the current climes. But what may lack in quantity is more than made up by the quality of the team. Update: The chicken schwarma is banging!!

Excellent breakfast (full English no hippy stuff).

Of course we also had to try a typical English pub and the Quarter Jack was recommended to us. Here you have to get the pints yourself and hand the filled glasses to the table 😁 but that's probably the case in every pub. After I placed the order with the barmaid including the table number, the food was then delivered to the table. Fries were good (crispy and not soggy....) and the cheeseburger was small but OK. The atmosphere is rustic and there are also large “tubes” outside where you can sit at the table. It was OK 👍

Popped in for lunch, my husband ordered the steak and kidney pudding , pudding was hard and dried out inside, peas hard and tasteless. I had the pasta dish, clearly a microwave meal, very salty. Staff were friendly, service very quick which confirmed our suspicions that the microwave had been put to use !!

Really lovely people and food and drinks well prepared and tasty. Amazing prices, considering the quality was so high. We ate there twice over a long weekend and would recommend it to all. Happy, friendly staff as well 😀

Completely overcrowded. Three of us went to dinner at 3:00 p.m. We waited in line for 30 minutes to order. Then waited another hour for our food. All the hisses were full of dirty plates. The staff only brought the food but didn't clear anything away. There was probably extra staff for this. Very worrying, no teamwork. As a result, the ambience also suffers.

So one of the good ones, when it comes to a spoons. The service was great and the staff were friendly. Easy to locate and parking right next door. Some items of food were great but others not so good. I ordered the steak and kidney pie with mash and peas with gravy. The gravy was lumpy and the mash a bit dry and could tell was reheated but was okay.

On holibobs so popped in after softplay to a lovely Spoons. Clean, plenty of room, excellant service and usual speedy food. Thanks. 👍🙂

We just popped in for a drink so didn't eat here but the place is spacious and the decor and layout both inside and out was well thought through to create pleasant and engaging surroundings. Well done..

Stopped for breakfast one morning. Food and drinks were served quickly, and were good value. Only down sides were that the coffee machine had run out of most options and hadn't been refilled, and a potentially embarrassing situation where a male member of staff went into the female toilets and opened a cubicle to clean without knocking. May want to knock on cubicles first, or at least fit locks to the cubicle doors.

Very nice interior and altogether a nice place for a meal which was why we were here. We both had ham egg and chips which was served quickly and was well cooked and tasty. We would visit again when in Wells.

A smart spoons, if there was ever a thing. Every thing you expect from a spoons . In a smarter environment with table top games on offer. Yes the toilets are a long way upstairs from the bar. 😂

Absolutely without doubt the best Spoons we have visited. Food was lovely. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed.Outside seating area including the converted concrete pods were genius. On site parking was a Godsend. Prices for drinks, menu selection & the overall fixtures & fittings were first class. Of the 52 Spoons we have visited so far "The quarter Jack" is the best by a mile. Even the loos are pleasant. Well done. Tim give this branch the credit it deserves!!!!!

I had their lasagne and 🥗 lovely and hot. Wife had the chicken wrap and a salad. Lovely soundings clean.Staff very nice and good at their job.Would recommend this place if on bythe area.

Good Staff always make the difference. If you like 'spoons then this is a good one. If you don't like 'spoons, this is a good one anyway.

It's same in every witherspoon tables with dirty plates cups food left on them trying to get a drink is hard work at the bar and grandson would be nice to wipe and clean tables

It's just OK for cheap food and drink

First time at this Wetherspoons and looking forward to going again. It was a sunny day and had the choice of sitting outside either at the front or the back. Fish and chips were excellent as was the service.

I have been going this pub with friends for years, but tonight the Katsu curry was absolutely awful so I returned this food to only be given something just as bad, I later order 2 apple crumbles which took a very long time to arrive, which when they arrived they looked like they had been reheating at least 3 times the ice portion tiny & melted mostly, I was very diplomatic I said that the desserts were very poor Bering in mine we have order this for years without problem, the way in which the manager & kitchen staff handled the situation was incredibly poor, when I complained I was told there is nothing wrong, your not getting your money back, & said you have already complained about your curry, which was nothing to do with the desserts, they were aggressive, when I highlighted that there behaviour was not right they carried on being aggressive, but when I persisted I wanted a refund they told me I would barred for the pub, I’ve never met such poor handling of a business I will never set foot in a weather spoons again along with the 10- 15 people who regularly meet here. I would rather spend my money somewhere else we have all agreed, the money we have spent here is quiet considerable over the years not ever again.

Great kids portions, really enjoyed the burrito salad. Using the app is such an asset when you have children so you can stay at the table. Busy lunch with all tables full staff friendly and working hard

We came in and every seemed good at first then...we sat down and ordered are meal... its came and we were not given the correct amount of cutlery and it was dirty 😡 When we were done a worker came over and took are amtry cups but seemed very rued about jt and gave us a funny look I was not happy with this place... the jacket potato also tasted under cooked there for I'm leaving a 3 star review 😡😡😡.

Nice setting needs a bit more service and drink machines don't work

The food was really inedible. The chicken was dry and tasteless, the fries mealy, cold peas and the salad should be "Mediterranean", well it wasn't. No atmosphere in the tent and the staff was not interested.

Excellent service, great little pub. Nice staff and good food 👍 also wells itself is a lovely city. Beautiful cathedral, and some lovely walks around.

You can't really go wrong you know what to expect with a wetherspoons and it didn't disappoint just had drinks but the refillable coffee is a must

Very slow service and lots of the menu not available, not for the first time

Been here a few times and each time service has been very slow. Seems to be understaffed and staff that are there seem a bit switched off. Had to walk out last time due to some items on menu being unavailable and difficulty getting served

We were very impressed. This is a really good pub. The service was extremely quick and efficient and the staff were friendly. The food was excellent and great value for money as were the drinks. We visited early on a Saturday evening, and the atmosphere was great. Some families, some drinkers, a good mix. The building is attractive, and the decor has been completed to a high standard. We are not local but if in the area again, we will definitely be back.

shocking food chef can even fry an egg, we were harassed by staff along with other people trying to make us all move so they could reserve tables, we waiting over 30 mins for a drink which we were then told was upgraded for the hastle but I had paid for the pints of soft drink anyway, then they stood talking about us all as we said when we had finished our food the table would be free, Rude arrogant and the worst customer service I've ever experienced, shame because we have been several times in the past and everything has always been spot on, the whole place was dirty with tables full of dirty plates has these been moved they could have moved tables around to accommodate the large table who were due at 2 but didn't turn up until way after, we ordered our food at 1 and were still waiting on drinks after 30mins they did this to several tables.

Great pub. Nice atmosphere and great seating areas. High tables, small tables, stools and outside options. Friendly bar staff too, constantly on the go and clearing tables

I asked the dude with the blue hair his name about 10 times but I've still forgot it, sorry mate. If I could give more stars for his service and attitude then I would have. 10/10 legend.

Very nice Spoons, especially with Lurcher Stout at only 99p a pint (sadly they wouldn't take the 50p off voucher 😂). Really nice place though, right next to the bus station.

This place has literally gone to the dump. Of the past few times we’ve been here, every single time has been dreadful. I know it’s Wetherspoons but it wasn’t this bad a few months ago, the fiesta burger was actually decent but the quality of it now is horrendous. It’s probably half the size and the quality has been severely reduced too. Rock solid bottom bun, sticky extremely dirty floor and something, I don’t even know what, on the seats, dirty mug, stale and slightly warm onion rings, also my partners food was rock solid too. I don’t know if there is nothing for the staff to do but they got 2 waiters to bring out a burger and a panini.. and then brung out the fried egg I had added onto my burger… on another whole plate by itself? I mean I kind of get it but like a bit of common sense works too like it did every other time..? Raw potato in the middle of a few chips too.. Didn’t bring me a glass with my drink, or the ice, or the straw, or the fruit. I don’t particularly care about either of these but it’s besides the point for the general person it should’ve come regardless. On our table there is a conspicuous stain of something, and the last time I was here I honestly couldn’t tell if there was a clot of blood and some smeared over (based on how it looked and the colour) or if it was just ketchup but it was definitely off putting to say the least, I just covered it with a napkin and tried my best to just pretend it wasn’t there. I also had to change my seat before I sat down because it was soaked. Overall this place is disgusting and EVERYTHING including the top of table, the floor, the sauces, just everything is greasy and or sticky.. or has a stain or some dirt somewhere. There were some other things that I picked up on but my memory is as good as a goldfish and I’m hungry because I didn’t quite know how to tell the waiter basically just about everything is a disaster because I’m too socially awkward lol. Just go to Fosso Lounge, it’s only a 5-10 minute walk away for quality food, cleanliness and service.

A great place to share moments with friends and family. The food is good and the service is good. The staff are friendly and work hard to meet the standards you accept. The prices are also good. It's usually quite busy at times and still provides a great service, 👍

It was the first time we had gone to this wetherspoons pub. We thought the pub looked really nice and the staff were really friendly. We will definitely go again.

Didn't have food but drinks were nice. Had a different drink given than ordered but when mentioned to staff it was quickly rectified. Plenty of seating inside and out.

Reminded myself why we don't go to Spoons. Our grown up children are fans though. Food wise you're getting what you pay for. Service was lacking and we needed to chase fit drinks that were forgotten.

Very quiet for a Monday evening and ordered via the app.. food was quick but my chips with burger were stone cold.. while my partners chips steaming hot!!.. bar staff friendly and welcoming..

Not too bad, food is good for a witherspoon.

Seems like a new team who isn't fully on their feet yet. Our drinks were delivered to our table very curtly, my drink was wrong but it was easy enough to change. My partner's chicken panini had absolutely no chicken on one half of it lol I don't know who prepped them but they didn't do very well. Full of the usual spoons characters. Mostly just mad about the panini.

They were struggling at the time, but I can only comment on my personal experience. The restaurant I wanted to visit was closed, so my 2yr old and myself wandered into spoons. I ordered chicken nuggets and chips for the boy and I ordered the Burrito bowl. I used the app. The app is great and it has always worked really well for me. I was on table 6, but there's nothing to tell you if it's actually a 6 or a 9. A simple underscore would fix this. It tool 1hr 45mins to be served our food. The server explained they were short staff because some staff members didn't turn up for their shift. He was very clearly back of house. Probably kitchen, but moved to front of house to help serve. My child's food was on a scorching hot plate, yet the food was like warm, so it was probably standing around a bit. Mt burrito bowl was microwave rice, on a bed of lettuce with a couple of tortilla chips on top. It wasn't worth £8. My child's meal was actually better! The staff were clearly on the back foot but we are all doing a great job. Very friendly and helpful. I felt sorry for them. The venue is actually pretty good for a spoons. I've been a few times. They have a really nice outdoor area too. This experience would not put me off going back, but I would bare it in mind. It wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't need to entertain a toddler while I waited.

Decent Wetherspoons in Wells. Used to be an old Bus garage in the 1960s and has been converted into the pub. Its got G-Plan style furniture and wooden panelling inside and some "pods" you can sit in outside which is quite cool. Some of the window frames could do with a dust/lick of paint, but its generally very good. Food wise we had special "Burns night Burgers" which were really good value and very good. Much recommend those!

Shocking experience, 5 people for food 3 steaks 2 burgers. Steak tougher than an old pair of boots sent them back, all 3 steaks were missing mushrooms told member of staff who then brought out 3 small mushrooms, burgers were burnt beyond recognition, the ultimate burger was missing onion rings bacon was like a rubber band. I would be ashamed of sending food (if that’s what you call it) out like that. All condiments were sticky bottled and naff all left in them.

Very busy for midweek and not enough seating so we left.

Excellent value and quick to order at bar till even remembered the table number. Free refills on tea, coffee and hot chocolate! Did I say great value ! Under £4 for breakfast muffin with hot drink. Lots of comfee seating. Food brought to table. Self serve on hot drinks.

Had a Veggie Muffin breakfast deal for £3.66. Included refillable coffee. I enjoy their flat white. Was a useful pitstop during my driving shift.

I ordered a large breakfast and whilst the quality was reasonable the temperature of everything was low when it arrived and very quickly was cold. I'm sure this issue could be overcome very easily and it really needs to be.

Seemed like a nice place from the outside so we stopped for a late lunch. It was quite busy but managed to find a table but it was filthy! The table was wet and covered in sauce & beans, food on the floor around the table, dirty used cutlery on the floor!! Cleaned the table ourselves & ordered from the app. Food arrived quickly, the young man was friendly but totally ignored the state of the area! Food was good, cheap & plenty of it. Toilets were clean but had to climb 2 flights of stairs & walk miles to get to them!! Cheap food & cheerful service, just a shame about the lack of cleaning!!

Called in for lunch on a busy Saturday while visiting Wells last weekend. Managed to find a table, which was relatively clean/cleared. Ordered on the app as we always do (bar queue was quite long). Sadly they are so under staffed both drinks and then food took ages (food 25 minutes!) which is actually rare for any Wetherspoons we've visited. Staff were very friendly though, when chased up! Food was hot and tasty and always a good deal (price wise). Toilets were NOT clean, again not enough staff.

Rather chaotic staff. A couple really working hard, others 'drifting around' ineffectively Food took ages, I noticed orders sitting waiting to be taken to tables- chef trying to get staff to take them. Seemed grubby & uncared for. Food wasn't as good as we've had at other Wetherspoons . Also quite chilly in there ( visited Mid-november) Bit disappointing all in all.

Dropped in for breakfast. Haven't been for quite a while. I had fairly low expectations so I wasn't too disappointed. The staff are run ragged, can't see how they can possibly cope when it is busy, but they are professional and friendly. The food is great value, but it arrived on a cold plate, I was told that they had to choose between a toaster or a hot plate, because one of the elec sockets was faulty. NOT good enough. This needs sorting. Head Office need to sort this out. It's not fair on the kitchen or the staff. We struggled to find somewhere to sit that looked remotely clean. There is debris down the sofas, the floor is disgusting and the tables sticky and yuck. I am sure the clientele can be disgusting, but there is NO EXCUSE for a dirty environment. Only one coffee machine working and that was pretty gross.

Typical Weatherspoons venue. Nicely echoes adjacent art deco thirties cinema. Probably buit at around the same time.

Pub was absolutely freezing sat there with our coats on ( as did all the other customers) hence we didn't stay long . Staff were oblivious to it .

We went as a family of five for breakfast on a Friday morning and were really impressed with the pub. The classic wetherspoon experience, decent food at an excellent price. Ordering and service were very efficient and the various breakfasts were very good by any standards...even my husbands posher 'mushroom benedict' was pretty good while we enjoyed various versions of the classic English breakfast. Atmosphere was OK for a morning, plenty of workmen and elderly people enjoying the food and the prices. Toilets were very good. A great experience overall.

We have used this Wetherspoons on many previous occasions. However on this visit we were very disappointed with 2 of the 3 meals ordered. The gammon steak was good, however the ham, egg & chips came with the smallest piece of ham , less than a mouthful. The chicken panini only had 3 very small pieces of chicken, the green salad was adequate however! This was a great disappointment, particularly as my wife & I were entertaining a friend from Australia & we chose this pub because of good past experiences. We will not be using it again!

First in Wells, and popped in for a bite to eat, Meals very reasonable it is part of the Weatherspoons group,so I would expect that. Meal was very nice opted for gammon and eggs, decor in pub very comfy, stylish and loads of room, great selection of rea lale as usual. has a nice ambience and feel about the place. only thing toilets upstairs, nearly got lostcoming back so many corridors to navigate,but overall a nice pub recommended.

It's a very nice pub . Good food at a great price. Child friendly too. Definitely one of the better Witherspoon's.
