Terrible service got booted out for some chunky girl tipping our drinks on the table even though we cleaned it up. #notright

Food was junk, and the place was so dirty

Wow! where do you start to write about a dreadful.pub with the grumpiest staff who slam your drinks on the table and then serve you a burger with a bun so rock hard that you could actually recreate the scene in 'about a boy' where the boy kills the duck throwing bread in. Staff need to either leave and pursue a job they want to do or they need to learn some customer/people skills as they looked totally miserable! Thank the lord above I don't live here as I would be utterly ashamed to say this pub was in my neck of the woods! We waited an hour for this joy too! Home beckons so off we go!

Ordered food, when it came out food was cold and only 6 chips on the plate. Cold fried eggs with the gammon. Absolutely disgusting. Really gone down hill to what it used to be. Food should always be bought out hot if you can't do that then I suggest you get someone that can!

Most of the service staff are pleasent, one is not. Fantastic range of Ales and Ciders. Food mostly very good but, on occasions for some unknown reason has been luke warm. But I personally love the place

Food was good, accidentally clicked on the wrong order on the app. Was due a refund on an order by a Member of staff but was declined due to communication with demanding a refund and was spoken rudely too by the staff.

Well done weatherspoons for letting us a the room. And for turning the heating up. Many thanks for the excellent service your young lady gave us.

Nice place, nice atmosphere, delicious food at affordable prices

I didn't eat, but the food looked and smelled great with not much left on plates. The pub and WC were clean, including the bar area. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had two pints of stout, very reasonably priced and cracking. I will return.

The staff seemed a bit too busy and the meal could have been hotter. However a great venue and one of the better Weatherspoons. Make sure if you go to the toilet that you do not get lost on the way back.

Got a table easily but it appeared that only 1 person was serving behind the bar, so slow service which got steadily slower the busier the pub became (ordering on the app was not an option for us). Been here before, and would return. Spoons is Spoons! 🍻

A great place to visit, eat drink and be merry. Early Saturday night near Christmas on this particular night full of evey type of people enjoying their night. Food was served in good time and quality by polite staff that looked so busy. Thank you to all in The Quarter Jack!

I went here to watch the annual carnival go by, I ended up having a meal, which was nice, it didn't take long to arrive either. This place is now on my list of eateries. Although it was carnival night, this place got really busy, which was not surprising.

We visited the Quarter Jack on the 3rd Dec, we had our usual fish n chips. It was the worse fish and chips we had in there. The batter on the fish was rock hard like it had been recooked from the day before. The fish was even burnt and was very dry. We go there all the time when we visit wells. If a member of staff would have asked me about the meal, I would have told them, not one person asked us. This is very unusual because every other time we were always asked if the meal was ok, perhaps they knew it was not. Very poor customer service and the cook needs some training.

Used it for a meet up with family. Great service. One of the orders was not quite right but was corrected straight away. Good food. Cheap drinks.

We haven’t used Wetherspoons very often but were impressed by a visit to Wells. Called in mid-afternoon on Tuesday, it was quiet, tables clean and staff were welcoming and friendly. We both had Sirloin Steak - one standard and the other ‘Gourmet.’ When they arrived meals were both standard but the mistake was rectified and with apologies - missing items came quickly but by then we had started eating so shared them between us. Steaks were properly cooked to medium, juicy, slightly charred (which is good) tender and impressive for the price. Plates were also hot which isn’t always the case. Two glasses of Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc included and all for under £25. We paid more for a single steak at another well-known restaurant chain last month which wasn’t as good.

We went today about 1.30 4 adults and 2 children. The place was packed we had to wait a short while for a table. We ordered via the app. Our drinks arrived almost straight away. We had to wait over an hour for our food to arrive .when it did it was cold, and the place had emptied out a lot by then.

Food/breakfast was way over cooked all we got back was an apology and that it'll be passed onto the chef! Drinks had more ice than drink which was best pleased with.. the atmosphere/building was amazing but definitely seems like they concentrated more on making it look amazing than how to cook.. won't be coming back until the food has improved.

Lovely wetherspoons experience and great food, kept well. But watch out there's 2 table 44s so you might not get your meal as delivered to the other table, sort it out management.

Very basic food, the fish was small with very little thickness, it actually looked like an over cooked kipper in batter.

As far as Wetherspoons go, this one is good! The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is kept clean and tidy!

Pretty standard Wetherspoons. Visited Sunday evening, and maybe they had a busy day as a lot of dirty tables and floors etc. service quite slow, food arrived before drinks. Portions in Wetherspoons aren't what they were, but still just about reasonable value given you can get a drink included

We had a couple of meals here whilst we had a mini break in Somerset. The pub isn't huge but we didn't have any trouble finding a table. The service was a bit sketchy on the Sunday but I guess this is traditionally a quieter day so I don't think they had as many staff working. Interestingly the food here was about £2 cheaper per item (apart from the kid's menu and desserts which seem fixed everywhere) than the Wetherspoons in Street. It's not right in the centre of Wells but close enough and parking after 5 seemed easy enough.

Food was ok typical spoons, however the disrespectful team that were working there should be ashamed of themselves!!! I had no egg I asked it seemed like a problem even tho the meal came with it the attitude was beyond a joke. I will never be coming here again!!!

Experienced not up to standard food on 3 occasions within a month very disappointing and staff not interested of refunding on food. So had to eat it not to waste our money. Will not be going in the future at anytime soon

Food was average for a spoons. An issue with the system resulted in mix up of food orders, which wasn’t an issue until staff members were extremely rude to me when trying to chase up an obviously forgotten drink order when the rest of the table had received their drinks. However, the restaurant within itself was lovely theres just evidently an issue with customer service.

Gave me and my mate the worst diarrhoea. NO JOKE. Careful with their beef.

3rd time in as many weeks. Cold food and I mean cold sent back twice then rest of food even colder on return. Staff seem short on the ground and have no interest in complaint. Asked for part refund as hungry and needed to eat and said unable to do that. Promptly walked off. Been going since open. Will not return such a disappointment. Terrible. Terrible staff. Been going here a few times and the last 3 times we had food either the jacket potato seemed off or the food ie chips egg were really cold , staff not very helpful , not interested .

Definitely a pub for the locals away from the tourists. Clean and the service was good.

Typical Wetherspoons, good value and good food. Shame the staff member when delivering my beer named it wrong, when I questioned which type of beer it was and I stated it was not the one I ordered,I was told I had ordered the wrong one and I was at fault. Quick look at the order history on the app proofed the staff member was wrong. Not very good service.

Have just been in for lunch and have had some good food, service here but this is now the 2nd time in the last week have had to send food back as had the brunch, eggs were cold, as was most of the plate, apart from bacon which was cremated. Sat and watched my partner eat their food whilst I had to take mine back.. We had to ask for cutlery 10 minutes later as person who had served us had acknowledged we didnt have cutlery but then continued to take food out to other customers, we would have still been there waiting. My food didnt materialise and having to go back to work left without food. Shambolic

Food was reasonable, service was a bit slow with only one member of staff on behind the bar.

Really disappointing, complete waste of money. Coffee machine not working when I arrived. No brown sauce available at all even when asked staff member. The breakfast took 35 minutes, arrived cold and was just cooked. Didn't taste good. Think the weather spoons is understaffed or just disorganised.

Sadly this place has not improved, if you look at some of the terrible reviews this place has then you will understand why it has such a low star rating. A very unfriendly, uninspiring place, constantly under staffed and downright depressing. -1/5

9 of us ate, food was generally usual spoons standard, however one dish was cold, but changed without issue. Staff pleasant and helpful, seemed slow to clean plates around the pub which I find disappointing

Very poor today took to long with food we ordered my Mums fish and chips were ok with mushy peas. My noodles soup cant remember proper name was cold when turning up, and was missing char grilled chicken. That i had paid for very disappointed wont be coming again. the table after me got served quicker than hours think chef or staff were asleep cause of bank holiday.

We ate here for three evenings during our stay in Wells August 2024. Service was quick and food was delicious. We had ham, egg and chips, steak and curry. Size of meals are just right enjoyed with a glass of wine or beer. Excellent value compared to what you can pay elsewhere in Wells for the same types of meals and with a drink included. We did try somewhere else (Ask Italian) on one evening and it was nice though went back to spoons the next evening. We were travelling on a budget and you just can't get better value, great food and excellent service 👌. Thank you to the Spoons in Wells we highly recommend.

The Pub is a standard Spoons which lived up to my expectations. However the Customer Service was excellent. ALL of the staff seemed friendly and the young man Joe, who served us is a credit to the company. This was fantastic as I sadly haven't received the same level of service in other Spoons in Somerset.

We visited in on a Thursday around 6pm in the school holidays. A friendly atmosphere with a number of families. The service was quick and friendly. The food was good quality. Spoons always have the same good affordable menu but the quality of staff can sometimes let it down. This is a good one.

Stop by late on a Friday afternoon for an early evening meal. Managed to get a table outside sheltered from the sun. Ordered from the bar and our meals arrived within twenty minutes. Staff we encountered were friendly and the prices for food and drinks were exceptional.

Have eaten here twice, and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and good food.

Nice outdoor seating area. Clear zones for smoking.

We came in for a quiet and friendly meal, food came out very fast and was lovely but the service was awful. Missing a side order and asked if we could have it, the waiter was very passive aggressive said he’d be back with them but never did. The same waiter came and brought our puddings, when we were finished we were told to give the bowls to him. Obviously has a lack of communication skills. Won’t be bothering again.

Went really late after England match. Tables full of plastic glasses. Bin bag 5/10mins clear! Staff where really good with a problem customer. 10 out of 10 for that.👍

Great value place nice breakfasts

Cold food, incomplete meals, forgotten meals, miserable staff unwilling to address problems with food! Rude chef Nathan (apparently the boss of the manager!): quote from chef "don't tell me my quotas!" Other people complaining too. Overall extremely unpleasant experience. Avoid at all costs.

Always good, perhaps a little understaffed right now but that it is to be expected given the current climes. But what may lack in quantity is more than made up by the quality of the team. Update: The chicken schwarma is banging!!

Excellent breakfast (full English no hippy stuff).

Of course we also had to try a typical English pub and the Quarter Jack was recommended to us. Here you have to get the pints yourself and hand the filled glasses to the table 😁 but that's probably the case in every pub. After I placed the order with the barmaid including the table number, the food was then delivered to the table. Fries were good (crispy and not soggy....) and the cheeseburger was small but OK. The atmosphere is rustic and there are also large “tubes” outside where you can sit at the table. It was OK 👍

Popped in for lunch, my husband ordered the steak and kidney pudding , pudding was hard and dried out inside, peas hard and tasteless. I had the pasta dish, clearly a microwave meal, very salty. Staff were friendly, service very quick which confirmed our suspicions that the microwave had been put to use !!

Really lovely people and food and drinks well prepared and tasty. Amazing prices, considering the quality was so high. We ate there twice over a long weekend and would recommend it to all. Happy, friendly staff as well 😀

Completely overcrowded. Three of us went to dinner at 3:00 p.m. We waited in line for 30 minutes to order. Then waited another hour for our food. All the hisses were full of dirty plates. The staff only brought the food but didn't clear anything away. There was probably extra staff for this. Very worrying, no teamwork. As a result, the ambience also suffers.

So one of the good ones, when it comes to a spoons. The service was great and the staff were friendly. Easy to locate and parking right next door. Some items of food were great but others not so good. I ordered the steak and kidney pie with mash and peas with gravy. The gravy was lumpy and the mash a bit dry and could tell was reheated but was okay.

On holibobs so popped in after softplay to a lovely Spoons. Clean, plenty of room, excellant service and usual speedy food. Thanks. 👍🙂
