Was really excited to try out this restaurant. Had read the media coverage and have tremendous respect for the owners. It was busy, nice weather had brought the crowds out to the outside dining area. It seems impossible to get good service these days, when you do it is rare. Has eveyone good left the industry post covid... There were plenty of staff on the floor, but systems and training were clearly lacking, and the basic good standards sadly lacking. As soon as we walked in lack of a clear greeting was a sign of what was to come. We ended up waiting far too long for our mains to arrive. Other tables also complaining and warning us about the lack of service. The place itself is beautifully & tastefully done. The menu reads incredibly well. The food did not disappoint. I sat eating the Fish Soup, trying to recall a better soup that I had ever eaten. This, I have to say was the best, absolutely incredible. The rest of the dishes were well cooked, and good, but nothing knock out. Rarely give reviews, but the lack of service was a big issue. One guy seemed to be more senior, but he was way out of his depth. Not even a goodbye as we left despite making eye contact with the Manager and floor staff! Would not recommend until the service is sorted out.

We came for dinner. A strange experience to be honest. The food was very good, the pub location amazing and alot of money has been spent on the fabric. Great atmosphere. What didn't work was: 1. Paper table cloths covering linen ones. 2. Cutlery, china and glasses all cheap. 3. Not enough staff working Overall just left feeling it lacks style.

We had a bad experience the first time so wanted to try again as we live locally and accept everywhere has an off day. The location is stunning. The service was warm and very hospitable. The food was terrible. Pork Schnitzel was completely overcooked (dry and tough - verging on inedible) the potato salad was raw. The "Pie" (Not a pie - a watery stew in a dish with pastry on top) was bland, thin and and soggy.

VERY DISAPPOINTING! AVOID! We ordered The roast beef and was told "we don't have roast potatoes at the moment as they aren't in season" ok we said, thinking they will just replace them with some other potatoe, but oh no, £26 for two tiny slices of beef and 3 carrots 😳 you'd think the beef would melt in your mouth for that price to but couldn't eat half of it and the rest was pretty tough, it says something when the carrots have more flavour than the beef! I wish I had taken a photo but we were both so in shock, we left actually speechless. Even had the cheek to add a service charge on with no option to remove it!! £66 for two small diet cokes, 4 slices of tough tasteless meat and a few carrots! It's a shame as we've had a lovely meal here in the past, but definitely won't be returning!

Have visited this costa many times ,and normally wouldn,t mark it down. However on this occasion my wife had a fly in her coffee. On returning it the young man just shrugged his shoulders and said." It wasn,t there when i served it"".Very poor attitude i feel.
