We live local. Got a take away due to exhausted from work. Hardly any food, too costly and to top it off, absolutely no taste to the food!. The tandoori mixed grill was rubbish for £15.00. The silver trays were half empty. Honestly Go somewhere else! They even wrote down my address wrongly so food was cold when it arrived.

My friend & I were staying in Frome for the weekend… didn’t book a restaurant & happened upon Namira… What a fabulous meal we had thoroughly enjoyed it… cannot remember it’s name , but was a lamb dish & delicious.. thought the onion Bhajee was tasty… rice tasty & Naan also.. couldn’t fault & neither could my friend.. dishes were recommended. Staff excellent & very helpful. If I return to Frome would definitely go again.

Namira Spice as now known. Staying In Frome as visiting Longleat tomorrow and the hotel recommend this place for a curry.. We ate early as we have kids so it was quiet, carpet well worn and dirty.. Then we meet the gentleman that would look after us. An extensive menu with some new dishes for us, when ordering supported and directed by the same gentleman. We had an amazing meal, poppadoms, amazing dips range, starters and curries supported with rice, chips & breads. Our only issue, my curry was a little milder than I like and inside minutes I had a beautiful sauce to add to my curry to spice it up. First class service, amazing food and to top it all the ££.

We ordered lots of the vegetarian staters instead of ordering main meals. The food was very good and really tasty. Some of the best Indian vegetarian food I've eaten. Service was very good and friendly. Definitely going back at some point.

Frome is a sleepy quiet quirky small but hilly town, and the NAMIRA SPICE as its now called sits a the top of the town. We ate early, only people in the restaurant. We ordered a £7.50 for two persons starter Shish Kebab based dish. Presentation wise, it kind of looked like one meal cut in half, as the plating looked like that. Not pretty, but tasted fine. Main course, we chose a dish I had before somewhere in Evesham which was great, a lamb based dish called Railway something, and here to, absolutely delicious but was quite a small portion for the cost. I ordered a dry chille garlic chicken dish I think it was, I accidently chomped on the whole chille and burnt my gum it was that spicy, but once the lager cooled it down, fabulous dish (having shoved the offending chillie remnant to the side of the plate). We ordered 2 breads, couple of drinks and £54 total which seems really high to me. But the food was 5 / 5.

We went for a birthday meal and it was THE worst indian meal I have EVER had. I love indian food and eat out regularly in Indian restaurants. We usually go to Bath but decided to stay local. We are vegetarian and the selection of vegtable dishes was uninspiring and poor. We ordered 3 mains. The mushroom dish was flavourless except for some unknown reason tasting of sugar; an aubergine dish which was a one whole aubergine that had been stuck in the oven until the outside went hard and the inside went soft and then had a couple of spoonfuls of frozen mixed veg stuck in it. It was served with half a semi raw red onion at each end. Again it was totally lacking in any flavour. We also had a daal which was basically just boiled water with a few red lentils thrown in and maybe some turmeric. We ordered 3 sides: the potatoes at least tasted of something as they were tossed in fried cumin seeds and the brocolli and cauliflower was ok. The spinach side was basically just frozen spinich which had been stuck in the microwave and tasted of nothing. What is more we arrived just after 7.30pm and didn't get our food until after 9pm. The meal cost us over £100 for 3 people with no starters except for 3 popadoms and no desserts just a main and a side each, some rice and garlic naan and a beer and 3 glasses of wine. It is such a shame because it would be good to have a local indian restaurant that served good vegetarian dishes. Maybe the meat dishes are better. We have been before and been unimpressed which is why we usually go to Bath but thought that as it was quite a while ago it may have improved. It has actually got worse.

I placed an order tonight for home delivery. A treat for my mum and I as I am a single mum and we haven’t had a take away for ages. Read some good reviews about the new takeover by ‘Namira’s Spice’, but having waited over 1 hour and 45 minutes so far, our order has not arrived! I have called several times, just to connect to voicemail, and have left several messages. We planned our meal from here tonight, and are left with no alternative. Still no response on the phone and £30 shed out for food that hasn’t arrived and doesn’t appear to be coming! Very disappointed indeed and will be raising a dispute with my card company! I’d award 0 stars if that were possible!

Friendly greeting and recommend the Banquet wow the food was amazing and a great price. Had the Gurkha revenge as main course not for the faint hearted but the taste wow. Staff very friendly and very knowledgable on the menu. Couldn’t recommend the place more defo return if working down this way again

My fiance and I went there last night for a curry. There were three members of staff one wore his face mask under his chin, the other wore a mask but not covering his nose and the other wore no mask at all!!! Both our dishes were delivered with a thumb from the waiter inside of food! The trolley they moved the food in was covered in previous customers food and the bottom trays looked Like they had not been cleaned in weeks. The prices are expensive and the quality is cheap, not the greatest curry I’ve ever had. Will not be returning

We used to order all the time and always enjoyed the food from here. But the last two takeaways we have had have been awful - really horrible. It looks like ownership may have changed as new staff/new lick of paint etc. Honestly really disappointed to have to start searching for a new Indian takeaway as the last couple from Jhalmuri have been gross! Save your money.

Tasteless sauce, rubbery king prawns still in their shells in a sauce, completely desiccated onion bhajis. Peshwari nan almost without filling, very disappointing and not cooked. Threw most of the meal away.

Had the best Indian takeaway ever in Frome tonight. Goan fish curry was sublime.. I’ve been here several times and it’s always been nice - but tonight was excellent...

Not sure how many look at reviews anymore but if this saves the money for one person it’s worth the time. What was delivered last night was a disgrace. How an Indian restaurant of local repute can serve a dish of such poor quality is beyond me. A school dinner in the 1970s offered better. Nothing Indian about the curry - two pieces of burnt offerings, half an onion and a tomato - may as well come with chorizo and mozzarella it was so far removed from what I ordered. I just hope Jay’s Kitchen does better because I shall not ever be spending £30 on utter rubbish again at this place, in or out. I would submit a picture but it was so inedible, it got binned (recycling of course).

We booked a meal here whilst on route to Longleat, it was very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Dined here last night. Service slightly chaotic but amusing rather than annoying. Very helpful waiter. The food was superb and very reasonably priced. Would become our favourite Indian restaurant if we lived there.

Ordered and delivered within an hour. Tasty food and plenty of it. Ordered 3 mains which fed 2 adults, 2 kids and a toddler.

Was stale and awful. I have only written one review before. Disgusting. We had to bin it! Hopefully they will make fresh cooked food in the future.

Loved it, real great mixed grill, one of the best I've had recently, bhaji's and garlic nan were great. Staff were very welcoming which can be quite unusual at some establishments as a lone diner. Would certainly go back if in the area again.

Best curry house in Frome. Service was good and food was delicious! I was in Frome 2 weeks and I ate there 2 times! So good!

Getting there:- We were staying briefly in the area for an event, but our hotel restaurant was booked up with Christmas parties. We don’t know Frome at all, so we found this place on-line. Sat Nav took us there directly but it was a narrow street for parallel parking with no vacant places . We carried on along the cobbles and found somewhere quite a bit further on and walked back..by which time there were spaces ...with hindsight a lot of to-ing and fro-ing from people picking up take-aways..so parking a matter of pot luck and patience. Having visited the town next day, we could see that the short stay car park would have been near enough ..just a short way up the hill to the restaurant and free (courtesy of the council )for the Christmas period.Service:-Here was also booked out for Christmas parties of diners, but we were offered a place if we could be finished before a party coming in ,an hour and half later. We jumped at this as my husband was getting “hangry”! We were shown a table then left...with no menu to look at! It took ages to catch anyone’s eye and eventually I had to mime the opening of a book to the young man who had seated us, who was evidently just drinks person and table clearer.Having had our drinks order taken and delivered, it then took ages for anyone to take a food order. I know they were busy, but we were hoping to comply with THEIR time restriction, and all this did cause some ill temper from someone with little patience, but not directed at staff thankfully, who were politely apologetic. The loss of one star was due to this problem getting service..sorry! The food:- thankfully, once ordered, the food came fairly quickly. The plates were hot - a good sign, and the portions of curry and rice of decent proportions. I had nearly gone for a 4 chilli rated curry as I am often disappointed by lack of spicyness in other restaurants, but had settled for a 3 chilli rated Chicken Dansak and was very pleased with the flavour and heat and good quantity of chicken.Husband had Chicken Korai, a 2 chilli rating..which (having tasted it) was about right ratings-wise. He was pleased with it ..amount of chicken etc , but thought there was too much onion, but agreed it did say that in the description. He also enjoyed his chappati and Tarka Dhal and became more pleasant company as the meal progressed! So we would award 5 stars for the food.I visited the ladies, and was pleased to find that it was all nice and clean.We finished the meal in time, but think the later booking may have cancelled anyway as they started separating the tables. We fulfilled our part of the deal anyway! This restaurant was doing a fast trade in take-always.It’s a pity this restaurant is not closer to home as it is better than what we have available.

Last Saturday in Nov - so pretty busy - a good sign potentially...?At the end of the day - if it’s damn good food you’re seeking look no further... BUT....Three guys serving and two of those were new (you could tell... like rabbits caught in headlights!) twice the drinks were forgotten- and had to physically flag someone down (after trying to gain someone’s attention for 30 mins) to actually have the mains order taken. When it came - it was delicious. The one guy who knew the ropes kept apologising and bless him you could see he was stressed to high heaven. He was trying his best and indeed we received a reduction in the bill - but that’s not the point...The owners need to wake up and smell the coffee - you’ll lose the one decent guy you have if this continues...and then probably the customers. Food:10/10Service: 6/10* (read above)VFM: 9/10

Visited this restaurant with friends. Good selection of food. Really tasty and good sized portions. Staff were friendly, one waiter made our night. He was funny and helpful. Def go again

Simply the most superior restaurant or takeaway in Frome! I’d recommend my favourite Chilli Chicken Masala - hot, lots of perfectly cooked chicken, chilli peppers & onions in a deep red tasty sauce

This was my second time at the buffet evening on a Monday night and it was absolutely delicious! Lots of piping hot yummy things to eat. Although I don't recommend the house red!

Visited on an extremely wet Monday with friends. Opted for the all you can eat buffet. Met by a lovely young man and seated. The food was hot and well presented and dishes replaced quickly when empty. Not a huge amount of choice but enough to satisfy all tastes. Unfortunately, the waiter had to endure a little bit of abuse from a visiting family, I must add that I admire the way he handled the situation and his apologies to us at the end of the night for their behaviour were appreciated. No one deserves to be treated the way he was.

Don’t get out much, and on a very wet evening after watching a film at the cinema decided to pop in for dinner. Once again not disappointed, great service, and lovely food

For us, a continually great place to eat. The chicken dhansak and lamb pathia was of the usual high quality. The naan bread is always light and airy Service was superb and the staff are always extremely friendly.

Dropped in on the spur of the moment, and what a pleasant suprise, the place was clean and bright, the staff friendly and very helpful, and our meal was very well presented and one of the best curries we have ever had, all at a very reasonable price, all in all a most enjoyable evening.

I used to have regular takeaways and meals from Jhalmuri. They significantly put their prices up (I think last year) and they’re now too expensive to justify eating there for the quality of the food. We went back last weekend to try them again and they messed up our order and we ended up eating most of it cold.

Decided to eat out in town whilst the kids were doing there thing and plumbed for a curry. Wife had the Malayan and I had tandoori prawns. Absolutely delicious, perfect thank you. As good as always!

Unexpected meal out, early evening 7pm, and not disappointed. Service and food faultless. Would not hesitate for a return visit, certainly recommend to anyone.

This was our first time ordering from Jhalmuri and the staff were all super helpful with identifying what was safe for me to eat. The great news is that almost everything on the menu is naturally gluten free including the poppadoms and the onion bhajis as they use gram and rice flour.

Moved to Frome around 9 months ago and have visited this restaurant to eat in and for takeaway several times.

So so so much better than all the others in Frome! And the service is always outstanding, even from their delivery drivers!! Always so polite and punctual unlike most others. My personal fave is Chili Chicken Masala - givevis a try 😉

As I don;t have a huge appetite, my husband and I ordered a vegetable biryani, two starters and a peshwari nan and had them all delivered to our table at the same time. Nice presentation, good service, excellent food, inexpensive drinks. All good!

Had great expecting for this restaurant, but sadly didn't perform... Food was average and quality of meat was poor... Will not be returning.

Not Been to a curry house in Frome for over 20 years. But boy was it worth it. The staff are honest and genuine wanting you to have a great experience. The poppodoms are as light as a feather and both curries were delicious. But the star of the night was the peswhai nann. It is out of this world.

Nicely placed restaurant close to my hotel. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I've been visiting Indian restaurants for over forty years but have never been offered a free sample before. As a regular Madras eater I mentioned this to the host and said I might consider his chicken chilli masalla instead. He advised me of the different tastes and recommended that I stay with my primary choice. He then said he would bring me a sample of my second choice - gratis. When the food arrived it was virtually two meals!! Both of which were excellent. To add further to his hospitality he then even gave me the remains of both in a takeaway bag!! Top form young man.

Food lacks flavour. Keep trying to like this takeaway, but it let's me down, every time. Overpriced, chicken didn't taste 'right'. Definitely wouldn't recommend, + won't waste my money on this rubbish again!

After reading some of the reviews on here I was in two minds whether to go to this place to eat, but thought we'd give it a whirl anyway.

The food is reasonable at this restaurant, however the person that took our takeaway order over the phone was so rude to us that we’ll never be returning.

Tonight we ordered the exact same takeaway as we did 2 weeks ago. Everything that was good last time was the opposite this time and we have decided we won't be going again for a long while!

This was good value, with a good choice and plenty of flavour, we had a couple of the chefs specials and the heat and spicing where as described 'special', good range of standard a Indian classics, delivered quickly and hot, and as we spent over £100 (there were ten of us) they threw in a free bottle of wine. Reccomended

We’ve eaten many times here and the food is good but we won’t be making the mistake of ordering a delivery from them again. A few months back we ordered delivery and it took over an hour to get to us despite them saying it was on its way several times. Tonight we thought we’d try again. They said it would be with us within the hour. It didn’t turn up but we were informed it was due to leave the restaurant within the next 10 minutes. An hour and a half on from placing the order and it’s still not here ...

I am a very regular and usually very satisfied customer at Jahlmuri but I was very disappointed when collecting my takeaway, to find that you have switched to using plastic containers for everything! This is a completely backwards and unnecessary step which might lose you a few takeaway customers and a very bad decision to make especially given the current move away from plastic and single use packaging. Maybe the management is unaware of this or think that putting something in plastic is somehow ‘adding value’ to the product, it isn’t and makes you look ill informed and not very caring about the environment and the ethical consumer, who are many in Frome. Please change back as soon as you can.

Went for the buffet, there was only two dishes to choose from. one of which was chicken tikka and the other was unknown.

Ordered a takeaway to collect, but was thwarted when my car decided it didn’t want to start. Feeling a little guilty that I wouldn’t be able to make it, I phoned up to pay for the order.

Went with a friend at end of March - a Thursday night . Superb food - Ghurka’s Revenge was excellent and a wonderful Indian Red Wine called Soul Tree. Great service and wonderful value.

Well I have been to jalmari for many years, but after last night I will never go there again, we waited 1hour 15 min for food untill we walked out, the staff were very rude ,the staff has changed has it been taken over, what a shame, went to badcox after had lovely Indian well done

We get takeaway once per month. The quality seems to vary a fair bit - some dishes are really oily and don't taste of much, whilst others rich and creamy and really nice. We like the corma and passanda.

We had a takeaway delivered to a friend’s for 4 of us on Friday, it was fairly pricey but a fairly good curry. The Sag bargee was particularly good. The peshwari nan was terrible! Would have a take away from here again.

Aunque la comida era deliciosa, el servicio era muy lento. Así como tratar de manejar un restaurante el personal tenía una considerable cantidad de comidas para llevar para preparar y servir, lo que nos dejó frustrados y se tradujo en la sensación de un apresurado...

La comida normal, que intentan hacer un esfuerzo con su servicio de atención al cliente PERO cuando pides un plato de carne y sus 5 piezas de pollo principalmente y el resto es gruesa y rica salsa, te sientes engañado.

Después de haber visitado este restaurante en 2016, yo y otros 10 colegas decidimos volver a la Jhalmuri después de una buena noche el año pasado por un personal re-unión. Reservamos una mesa para 11 en 7. 30:00 en lo que iba a ser una "tranquila" la noche del martes. Después nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, era el típico beber se resolvió, pero no fue hasta las 8. 15 cuando en realidad fueron entregados los menús y no sorprendente, es que el segundo ronda de bebidas. Habiendo tomado nuestros pedidos, los entrantes llegaron a 8. 45 y nada de que quejarse aquí, sin embargo, después de terminar el primer plato y le pedía a pedir bebidas redonda no 3, que notó algo no estaba bien en la cocina. A las 9. 45, 2 horas y 15 minutos después de llegar, no empezar el personal desafiante sobre el paradero de nuestro plato. No fue hasta entonces que admitieron que lo estaban cortos de personal en la cocina (aunque nosotros fue y sólo dos mesas para 2! Nuestra comida) y sería por 10 minutos. Cuando llegaron, algunos de los platos eran pobres y obviamente estaban por debajo de los estándares. Habiendo reservado tres taxis 11. 00, la prisa a terminar, sin embargo, no antes de exigente que hablar con el gerente para quejarse y discutir algunos reducción en la factura. En su lugar nos dijeron que el director estaba lejos y no había nadie a cargo? ? ? Y luego nos dieron algunos pisos del irrelevante baratas camarero (creo que él estaba a cargo, pero no lo admito) que él había estado trabajando todo el día como un Stonemason y toda la noche en el restaurante - me atrevo a pensar lo que hubiera sido si este lugar era incluso medio lleno! Al final, conseguimos descuentos en las bebidas, pero en general fue una experiencia muy mala. Venga chicos, asegúrate de cuidar sus clientes antes de sentarse en comprometerse a llevar y ser honesto y honesto con sus clientes si tiene un problema personal (o no director) entonces no tendrás malos comentarios como este.

Saturday evening visit. We hadn't booked, and staff took ages deciding where to fit us in. In spite of this there were several empty tables throughout our visit. Our order was taken promptly, and we received drinks but from sitting down to getting any food took 55 minutes, during which time we were not offered any word of explanation. Other diners were being sold extra drinks while they waited, a good truck to increase the bill. We both had birianis. Coming from the West Midlands I expect much better. A meal doesn't have to be strongly spiced to have flavour. Our meals were both quite bland, though the mushroom side dish was tasty. Some of the chicken tikka in my main was very dry, as if it had been hanging around for some time. Overall, I would not go back.

My wife and I visited the Jhalmuri restaurant on Saturday evening 27th May 2017.The food was excellent and served by very friendly staff.The place was very busy which is usually a good sign so glad we booked.If we are ever in the area again it will be our first port of call.

Has become our Indian restaurant of choice in Frome and usually have a takeaway delivered to our door.. always good food with good service..

I love it here. The curry tastes amazing every time. Great to eat in or takeaway. Staff all very friendly.Does get very busy late evening on weekends so avoid this time.

There is a wide selection of dishes on the menu and it is always well-cooked and tastes good. The best in town.

We've had many great curries at Jhalmuri and the service is great.The only problem we've ever had was trying to have a curry at the end of an evening int he pub only to be told they were closing, which was disappointing as that's quite often when a curry is needed.

Early evening curry for a family with two boys (10 & 12). Very friendly staff and attentive and a good menu with some good variety. Main dishes started at around £7 and the food was excellent. Rice and naan were really good and it was nice to choose a number of mains which actually tasted different. You know, choose 3 or 4 dishes and they all taste similar - not here, fresh flavours and well cooked.Would recommend but you may need to book, it was busy.

Had a meal here tonight and couldn't fault it. Lovely place and delicious food. Great service. We're not from the area and it's the final night of our holiday, so really enjoyed finishing it off with such a lovely experience.

Arrived at the agreed time arranged on the phone, turn up ready to dine. To be told they were fully Booked, restaurant staff made us to feel like we had lied. Poor effort, Highly disappointed! Just a heads up.. If you book I would double check! Ended up having a lovely meal at the Castello a few doors up.

I've visited jhalmuri to eat in as well as ordering takeaway. The Monday night buffet is an absolute must. Best Indian food. So good it's the only Indian I'll eat now!

We both love Indian food and were impressed with the quality of the reasonably priced menu. The portion sizes were excellent and cooked to a good standard, all served by friendly staff.

I was invited to our works Christmas meal and this restaurant was chosen by us , we arrived and were greeted at the door by friendly polite staff, we were shown to the table , the restaurant is a large open plan room with nice décor although I was only really interested at the time in eating, the waiter asked us if we would like drinks and poppadum's which we ordered and quickly arrived at the table ,after a short while the waiter returned and took our started and main course ordered.The food arrived piping hot and I must say tasted fantastic again the staff were attentive without being to over bearing ,drinks were offered when we asked .One thing I liked the most is you were not made to rush and had time to eat ,chat and drink until we were ready to leave ,So my over take on this restaurant is I will visit again ,I left full and content and would like to thank the Staff for a great food experience .

I Live in the town and have been here many times. Went here recently as one of a family party of 8 people. Because we all live in Frome this restaurant is more than easy to get to by walking. I can imagine if you live out of town, traveling to eat here as part of a pre-arranged gathering, could become tricky to access as there is next to no parking outside with the main car parks a short walk into the town centre. As you enter the restaurant you stand in a big square room, greeted by the friendly staff and properly seated with the option to hang up your jackets. This place is always busy with a good atmosphere of people in conversation or eating. However the style of the place is boring and does not offer any privacy if you wanted to be seated away from others. Before you order your food, poppadoms are offered to your table, easy to assume these are a nice gesture when in fact you have to pay for them at the end. Not a problem but to be offered something without being notified on the cost seems cheeky. The drinks are good, straight forward but little range in lagers/beers. The menu itself is great, a wide range of dishes and potential meals you can arrange for yourself by mixing and matching the rice dishes with your meat dish. Downside is there is no option for anyone who isn't keen on spice or curry. I know people will say "Don't go to an Indian then" but people like my girlfriend get dragged to gatherings like this without any choice in the venue and is left stranded in deciding what to eat. An alternative option would be nice for those people. The food itself is lovely! High quality dishes at just the right portion size to fill you up! The spice levels accurately match the rating as described in the menu. I would highly recommend anyone to order a side of naan bread! It might be the best I have had! None of us had any dessert so I cannot comment on that. When asked for the bill we received the amount we owed, and in disbelief ,we were wrongly charged for a second time in a row. Our previous visit to this restaurant also resulted in a billing mistake. All in all it was a nice meal of high quality in a boring setting. 3 stars!

We got a takeaway from Jhalmuri for the first time last night and we both agreed that we have had much better curries. We had the pakoras to start and the batter was thick and soggy, not nice and crisp like it should be. I had a king prawn jalfrazi which was mainly bulked out with onion! I do know that a jalfrazi has onion in it, but I'm talking about loads of onion. It was average. My partner had the mixed grill which he said was ok, but they charged us extra to make the naan a keema naan instead of plain which seems a bit mean. There wasn't that much meat in it either which my partner was disappointed with. The rice was fine, but instead of it being crammed into the box like it is at every takeaway (Chinese or Indian) it was just spooned in and not enough to share. But we never get our own as there's normally loads left over. Won't be back unfortunately.

The staff are warm and friendly. The menu contains many delicious meals. We arrived on a very cold evening, but quickly warmed up. The only downside I would say is that the tables are very close together.

Quite good food at a good price. Excellent mixed kebab starter. Garlic nan was one of the best I have had.Went for a standard madras. it was OK. would go again if in the area.

Nice place, although not a lover of spicey food however they did have a few options for me (the spice weakling) which were nice! Good service and nicely decorated restaurant. Would recommend for the currie lovers!

All the food we had was excellent, the curries are tasty without being too hot. The portion sizes are good. The service is attentive without being intrusive. I have special dietary requirements and this wasn't a problem at all. I thought the restaurant had a romantic atmosphere the evening we visited.

Was looking for something different to eat in company of a few friends . The place did not disappoint ,the staff really made us welcome and we felt at home straight away . The Food was amazing to top it up we even had a free Drambuie shot on the house . I recommend this restaurant to any one . Thanks to all you i will be back soon .

Well... thid was our favourite untill now. This is the second time they have given us bad food. Firstly the chicken korma was dry.. the chicken was hard and dry chicken absolute disgusting. 2 weeks ago we had it again but with raw chicken. Very disappointed and upset as thought this was a nice place

Visited Jhalmuri early this week with three work colleagues.We ordered a starter, main each and several sides for sharing.All the food was very good quality and well presented. Prices were good for the size and standard. Service was good too.

Having ordered a takeaway, which we do quite regularly from here having no problems in the past. We were told our food would arrive in 45 mins.... having actually taken over an hour to arrive we expected our food would at least be cooked. The chicken in my partners curry was raw and pink, after a few hours after eating this( what he did eat of it) my partner was then sweating ridiculously and could not move from the toilet. I rang the restaurant and complained too be told there chicken would not off made my partner ill and this was a fact The way the man spoke to me on the phone was appalling and damn right rude!! The language he used was disgusting and I mentioned that he needed to practice his customer service skills. Having quoted on their website" At Jhalmuri part of the experience is the restaurant’s exceptional customer service." I have never heard so much jibberish!! The man argued continually on the phone and it resulted in me putting the phone down. Having being pregnant I am lucky myself I did not continue to eat my food. I didn't expect a free meal or refund or replacement. A simple apology would of been nice and a polite conversation. I would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone due to my personal experiences.

I visited Jhalmuri on a busy Sunday night. We arrived at the same time as a couple of other large tables and although the service was slower than I would like, it was to be expected with that many people turning up at once.When the food did arrive it did not disappoint. The curries were tasty and full of flavour. Good size portions too. The prices were good value and I would have not issue returning here.

Consistently good food in a nice ambience with a roaring take away trade. A good range of dishes offered.

A party of 11, all the food came out on time, it was hot, it tasted fantastic. No complaints from our party whatsoever.For the record, the Manager has never been rude to anyone whenever we've been eating here and we've never seen the chef get in a strop. They are the two most laid back people we know. The way we see it, The Jhalmuri, great food at fair prices. Superb!!

Visited here on a Sunday night in a group of 6 people on a weekend visit from Kent.The food here was all lovely, it was a very good curry compared to ones we have where we live. The restaurants decor is lovely and the pictures on the wall are beautiful.The only downside was we did have quite a wait for menus at the beginning of the meal and then a very long wait between starters and main courses. However we had arrived at the same time as a couple of other tables so we did understand.

1) Waiter spilled a drink over Cathy. 2) Then forgot to take our orders. 3) Brought the wrong wine to the table. 4) Prawns in a vegetarian meal. 5) My main never came out. 6) When my biryani eventually came out it was disgusting. 7) Advised the waitress to take the chef accross the road, line him up against the wall and pull the trigger.

My favourite Indian restaurant. Always perfect. I'm a loyal customer and will continue to be. Lovely, friendly service, and delicious food.

Had a lovely family meal here and I had the Jalfrezi - it was beautiful. Everyone else really enjoyed the food also.Nice atmosphere in restaurant and friendly service (Although our waiter could have been a little friendlier)Would definitely recommend.

Would highly recommend Jjalmuri for dinner. We arrived on a Monday evening without booking and they sat us without question. the buffet had a lovely selection and the meal was delicious. The price was low and they were very helpful. I would definitely go again when in the area

I've eaten here a couple of times and had takeaways whilst living in Frome, and thought it was ok, but nothing special. As a few other reviews suggest, they use halal meat! For me, that's something I'd prefer to avoid and it's a shame they don't mention it anywhere. Proper Indian restaurants do not use halal. This is not somewhere I will be visiting again.

This restaurant is Indian food at its best. The staff are always so friendly to my wife and I, we always have excellent service and the food is always hot. If I fancy a dish that is too hot for me, then they will always tone it down to my tastes. The prices are excellent and you will always get value for money.My recommendation is the chicken Ceylon and my wife's would be a chicken dansak. Just perfect!!The restaurant has a good atmosphere and is suitable for couples or as a group of friends. I've tried Indian restaurants on my travels around the country, but this one rates as one of the best!!

We were visiting the area and I googled places to eat and this came up, best decision we made. The staff were all very friendly, the decor was gorgeous and the food was so flavoursome and well presented. Each dish we had tasted amazing and we got to try dishes we have never had before. It's a shame we are not local as would visit all the time if we were! Definitely worth going to :-)

We ate here for our first Indian dining experience in Frome. The food was good and the "hanging nan " should be tried! The service was fine. The only downside was that it was noisy and conversation was difficult.
