Used this takeaway so many times, great meals, and offers all the time! Only one item was disappointing, the chips. Anything else OK

Friendly reception staff, and food is amazing. Sweet chili and peanut sauce is wonderful. Quickly prepared and very tasty, good portions too.

This was the first time here because I don't live in the UK but crave a good Chineses and this one is a good one we had two soups two large spring rolls and chicken salt and chilli and capital sauce spare ribs and it was all spot on nice friendly service didn't have to wait long to if I'm back here ill definitely pop back. here well I pop back the next day and had the same starter's but for the main roast pork and bean sprouts and BBQ sauce and Singapore chow main just as good second visit to the first visit thank you for good food

Just had the most delicious pork chow mein, the pork was beautiful & tender not chewy at all.

Omg wow!! First time here as our normal Chinese was closed, we have also moved closer to Frome so thought we’d give it a go. Put it this way, this is our new regular! Exceptional food. Definitely one of the best Chinese I’ve ever had. Sadly, no photos because we are it too fast. We had a good 20 min drive home once collected and it was all still hot, crispy chilli beef was still crispy. Honestly it was amazing!

First time eating food from here, we absolutely loved it. The food quality, portions, price and variety were all incredible. Would highly recommend. Although it’s cash only, it’s definitely worth it!

UPDATE: Things seem to have improved. Quality has picked up and is much better. Delivery team remain excellent. ************************* I've been regularly getting meals from China Capital for over a decade. I've never had reason to even quibble the food. But since the new management its clear the quality of some products have reduced in quality. Last few meals have been disappointing. Perhaps its a money saving exercise but whatever the reason; if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Best Chinese in the area , great service from the girl on reception friendly and chatty. Food quality was amazing best Chinese I have had in years hot and fresh nothing burnt. Recommend the chicken satay skewers and Singapore noodles. #1 Chinese takeaway won’t be disappointed!!!!!!!!!

Had to give a low rating sadly as have never been so disappointed by a take away. They have halved their portion sizes recently and the curry sauce came in a sample pot ! Very disappointed

Ordered a meal for myself and my family. Great choice on the menu, something for everyone! The food was ready within the timescale that the young lady on the phone gave when I called to order. Came in to collect, met by a very polite member of staff on the counter; a credit to the establishment. Really enjoyed the food, will be back soon.

I have worked here four years, and it’s been really amazing, I’m leaving next week but I’ve had a great experience with my lovely Co-workers, I’ll definitely miss the free Chinese every Friday, I guess I’ll just have to pay for it now 🤣

How can the management not help their young staff serving. Telling them to say 45min wait when it's more then 2 hrs then letting grown men verbally abuse 17 year old staff that have never worked before and have money thrown at them, yet you still don't help. Its places like this that scare kids to work. Also these grown men should of taken it up with management. This was my takeaway I used all the time but not now how they treat young school staff. No young girl should put up with this

Ordered for collection, told 30 minutes. Over an hour and a half later... waiting in the takeaway for an hour is not how anyone wants to spend a Saturday night. Never coming back, nor will our family members in the area.

1 STAR. Left waiting well over an hour and half for a collection. Sat in the takeaway for over 55 Minutes, staff too busy taking more phone orders than serving their current orders. Disgraceful.

Best Chinese food for miles. The food was super hot, freshly cooked and good sized portions. The lady who delivered the food was super lovely, the lady on the phone was too. Both a credit to your take away. Look forward to ordering again very soon. Best Regards Ben & Cloey from Beckington

Ordered from here 20 minutes before they closed not expecting to get great food… wow was I blown away. Orders a fairly large amount of food, so was amazed when it was at my door in 15 minutes. Everything was fresh and piping hot, but the icing on the top of the Chinese cake was the salt and pepper chilli king prawns, them bad boys absolutely SLAPPED ! Never had better ones on my life. Hands down one of the best Chinese I’ve ever had. Them boys know what’s up

No exaggeration, but possibly the worst Yung Chow fried rice ever. The rice was so overcooked with no prawns, pork etc. Chicken with black bean was flavourless. Please avoid and go elsewhere

Got takeaway last night for the first time and we wish we had discovered them sooner. The food was excellent, large portions and definitely up there with some of the best Chinese takeaways we’ve ever had 😊

Called in tonight only 5 ppl waiting, so put in an order but the lady kept going off mid order shouting in the kitchen. After waiting half an hour another lady said she had only ordered rice and was still waiting an hour later, another man kept asking when his chow mein would be ready, the lady just kept saying we are busy, delivery orders still kept going out. It seems they are taking on too many orders. I eventually cancelled my order and got a refund. The lady said you should of asked for it quick, I said how can I walk in and order and say I want it quick in front of everyone else waiting! A couple other ppl walked out when they heard the waiting time. Also they only take cash. Will not be using them again.

Son got half a crispy duck at nearly £18 which was disgusting. Cold in parts with oil at the bottom of the take away box you could pour out. The duck itself looked and felt like hair. When we phoned to say, got told they could cook another one but it would be exactly the same! Never going back there for food!

Great food freshly cooked so hot. Isn't left hanging around for you to collect - that said is usually why you have to wait even on pre order. They are always busy but do give you a time to collect. Only drawback is it's cash only. Not a problem really as the Co-op nextdoor ish have an ATM. They used to give prawn crackers on a minimum spend, not so sure if they do now but we've never had any and spend over £30.

Food as usual good but almost an hour wait from order to collection for a pretty small and simple order was really frustrating.

Prawn balls and Pork balls as hard as nails and dried out. Threw them out for the birds. Other special was plain and inedible to. I rang a friend to see if he wanted it but he refused.

Still no increase on their food and customer oriented ... Love it here

Just ordered a takeaway for me and the mrs,never been here but trying today as mikes kitchen is closed.... And I’m very impressed with it,quick delivery,one of the biggest special chow meins iv ever seen!!!lovely chicken curry and egg fried rice and had a free roast pork bun thrown in to try and WOW absolutely beautiful.will definitely be ordering from here again

Terrible. Crispy duck is supposed to come on the bone with crispy skin. This came pre-shredded in a tray - no crispy skin, not on the bone. What’s more each piece was dried out as if it sat under a heat lamp. See picture. Completely inedible. Didn’t eat it as didn’t want to risk food poisoning. Eating toast for tea, very disappointing.

Eaten from here quite a few times over the last few years and it’s always been excellent! Just a really top quality Chinese takeaway! The staff are always super friendly and polite. The times are always reasonable. The food never tastes to sweet or too salty and doesn’t feel too greasy. Recommendations: Tofu in sesame and peanut sauce Plain chow mien Sweet potato in filo pastry Mini spring rolls Chips and sweet and sour sauce

CASH ONLY money laundering...? There are plenty of almost zero fee terminals available in 2021.No fried egg on my Nasi Goreng, microwaved satay sauce from a packet. Also no mention of cash only over the phone, they waited until I arrived to tell me that I have to go and find a cash point.

Great food (bao buns are awesome) but always engaged when calling and have to pay by cash. Would order from here more if they had the option to pay online.

The food was delicious and more than enough to feed a family of 4. We left the money in an envelope outside our door and the driver knocked on the door and left the food by the door as requested. Great service during lockdown.

On holiday in Frome. Wanted Chinese take out for the night. Google search and this establishment turfed up. Five dishes for 23 English pounds...wow. Waited 7 mins for food. Food excellent.

I would like to take the opportunity to highly recommend this take away. The order arrived five minutes earlier than the allotted time slot and was a complete order with some additional dishes which were most appreciated. The person taking the order took the time to explain what the less well known dishes were and recommended what other choices which would compliment our selection. All the dishes were piping hot, generously portioned and well seasoned and sauced/We are looking forward to our next takeaway!

The meal was watery and the other where rubbery. It was to bad for us to eat the whole thing. And it was chicken

We don’t normally order from here as and wish we hadn’t as the order was completely wrong We ordered three dishes and I’m not joking when I say each dish was wrong When we called to say the order was wrong they said it was our fault they and that we got it wrong Asked for three special chow meins - one without carrot , one without bean sprouts and we got three rice dishes We genuinely didn’t order incorrectly and they just didn’t want to know Won’t be going back

Ordered chinese At 5.30 to pick up ready for 6.30 and waited over half and hour Outside, This has been our regular chinese Always have enjoyed eating from China capital, but this evening our takeaway was very poor, lemon chicken was tough and hard, vegetarian chow mein was very dry and had hardly any bean sprouts and was made up with chunky carrots Which was not very tasty, Prawn crackers taste stale. Decided to let them know was not happy with the food and not up to their normal standers and was only just given a sorry which was not the result I was hoping for.

Absolutely awful I ordered a takeaway last night from this place and it the rice wasnt cooked properly, the chicken was pink and I've been up all night being sick, this is not what I expected

I've warmed to China Capital despite a bad experience with the Mongolian Duck a few years' ago. It's really good to see them open again in the current climate. The free homemade roast pork bun was absolutely delicious. Card payment would be a good addition.

We first ate here a couple of years ago, they got the order wrong and when we phoned up to complain the manager argued on the phone with us telling us we were wrong.. (we know what we ordered obviously, and it was not what we received). Tonight we braved it again, since it was the only Chinese we could get through to as most are shut because of the virus. The food came early, which was great! But then out of everything we ordered (5 items) only two were correct..tried to call them back 10 times and they either didn’t answer or “user busy”. So being 7pm already we decided to just eat it, and it was absolutely disgusting. My “Singapore noodles@ tasted like nothing but pepper and only had pork in, my “garlic vegetables” were sweet and sour. My partners “vegetarian Singapore fried rice” was simply egg fried rice. Will not be eating from here again..

Went to China capital this evening 21/03/2020 and have found a hair in my food! Rang up to complain and got no alternative only a sorry then put the phone down!! Won’t be going there again! Very bad service!!!!

Tasty, flavoursome food, prompt delivery

Not impressed with the deliver service said our order was going to be 1 hour waited over the hour so I rang and they said sorry will be another 20 minutes not impressed asked if they would put some prawn crackers in free they said no and we still had to pay £1.20 delivery not impressed at all very poor customer service

Our family of 3 had a moderate sized takeaway from here (5 portions) and it was huge! Great value and it lasted us 2 meals. The quality was great too!

Ordered take away on a Saturday night only to wait exactly 2 hours for delivery!! (Ordered at 7:40 food delivered at 9:40). The staff explained they were busy and would take a maximum of 1 1/2 hours. Rang after 1 1/2 hours to be told the food hadn’t left yet. No compensation but a £2 bag of prawn crackers given with most deliveries. Avoid if you are hungry!

We have always tended to use the dragon Pearl in Frome, however we were recommended to try China Capital. Absolutely lovely, tasty food. Far better than Dragon Pearl This is now our Take away preference

Never had a bad meal. House Special chow mein is really good and the portion generous. Chicken curry at this Chinese is the nearest to a restaurant version

Ordered pork Cantonese style started eating the meat and it tasted like meat I hadn't ever had before only ate 2 bits and currently going through the worst bout of food poisoning ever AVOID

We always end up going to get our Chinese takeaway here, it's local, they're friendly and they've never let us down. Of course in a restaurant in sure you can do better but if you need a chow mein hit, some of those shredded crispy beef things or my personal favourite pork balls for dipping in chilli sauce...you're in for a treat!

Chicken was stone cold and found a piece of plastic( from a plastic bag I suspect) within my food.

A bit hit and miss recently to be honest. Had some chips recently with one takeaway that were pretty rough, and the satay I had last night was terrible. However the crispy cod I had a few weeks ago was very much in the 'hit' category.

We've tried them all and ChibaCapital always comes out on top!! Give the Crispy Chicken in Mongolian sauce a try, it's my personal fave!

We've been going to China Capital for years and the food has always been amazing! High-quality, tasty meals and there are so many different options to choose from. Fast service and the staff are very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

So I live in frome, and would not be leaving this review unless I believed it was essential. For anyone who are thinking off ordering from here simply do not. Firstly to start of the awful service the delivery driver decided to not knock on the door and stand outside with our Chinese until we realised he we there (I suppose that explains why it was cold), when we asked why he didn’t ring the door bell which was in front of his face his reasoning was because they don’t ring the doorbell after 8. Then to go on to the portion sizes each dish on average around 5 pound had 3 and 1/2 table spoons obviously not adequate for one person let alone sharing with a family (absolute rip off), the dishes were cold, bland and flavourless. The veg was over cooked and the meat was processed full of water. The soup we order was like a curry not a soup, thick and cold. Finally on the food topic they forgot two dishes and gave us a wrong dish, but to top it all off when we rung up in hope to pontentially sort this problem even if we had to pay to get another dish out the lady who answered insisted it was there and just made us absolutely unheard, unless there was a magic compartment in the bag it was not there. Do not get a Chinese from here absolute rip off, the service was awful and the food was even worse. Disgusted and annoyed how a business can think its ethically viable to act in this way.

Estaba alojado en Longleat y el anfitrión sugirió que probar este para llevar, la comida era buena honesto chino todos los favoritos usuales. Preparado rápido con frente de inglés personal de recepción. Buenos platos asiáticos en el menú, etc. también para los aficionados del tema Malaya tailandés sólo solo aceptan efectivo pero hay s reintegros en cajeros en el co op 50 metros de distancia. No está nada mal y merece la pena probar si estás en Frome.
