The best restaurants in Forest of Dean South West

We came here for a meal on Christmas Eve and were not disappointed, the food was delicious and plenty of it, the staff were incredibly friendly and wonderful with our young children. We hope to return soon

Sunday lunch was amazing with the new chef beef was tender and not over cooked. Roast potatoes were very fluffy. A big difference and a massive improvement all around worth a visit. Staff were very helpful and accommodating colouring for the children and not a long wait for a perfect roast Dinner

As a care worker, I take some of my clients here for the cafe, for a cup of tea and a slice of cake, The staff are always very supportive, kind, and patient. The reason for writing the review today is because of the staff serving the food/drink, what a bunch of super ladies, they entertained my client with a little song and dance with tunes from Sistar Act. My client was thoroughly entertained. Keep up the good work ladies. To Hanley Farm Owners; your employees are a credit to the company :)

Call in with my family for lunch. We all had food and enjoyed it so much. The meals were served piping hot and the meals were of a large size. Good quality and very tasty

Called by for lunch, nice warm welcome, young lady was so nice, and the meal was hot nice and filling, followed by pudding GREAT, all 4 of us came away full and happy, and it didn't break the bank, We will definitely be calling by again, Thankyou chef and staff.

We have just come back from a meal and it was amazing it was all cooked from fresh and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and I would highly recommend them to anyone

I have previously had some great lunches and dinners here and was keen to try a breakfast. I went with a friend and we both went for the Forest Full English. I was not disapointed it was a proper size breakfast that would easily carry a person through to tea time. Quality ingredients all freshly cooked, none of this fashion of sausages cooked only on one side and bacon that has been quickly waved over a candle. Every item was spot on and presentation was perfect too. The staff were super frriendly and attentive. I told the staff at the time it was one of the nicest breakfasts I have had in years, on reflection I was wrong. I think it is the nicest breakfast I have ever had (and I am a breakfast sort of person), one of the few places that does tradional fried bread too. I could not recommend highly enough.

I ordered the Tandoori garlic chili chicken, which was delicious. Spicy though, be warned :p On the phone we mentioned we’d like a certain dish to be prepared vegan. Which in turn was executed well bij the restaurant. I’d recommend this place, definitely will be trying out more from their menu.

Great takeaway from here, delicious, plenty of sauce and not too salty. Will definitely return soon!

By far the best ploughman’s we have ever had lots of great cheeses and ham, lovely pints of real ale, great staff, log fire, great location. What a great pub

Had 2 orders from this place and had been perfect both times Portions are very generous and the prices are great too I have never tasted Indian Cusine to such a high standard Food is hot and clearly made fresh with good quality ingredients! The chefs obviously know what they’re doing and can deliver very tasty dishes Can’t wait to work my way through the menu and try more of the dishes ☺️ Food has been late but that’s not a problem when the food is this good and to be honest both times are ordered were on a Friday and Saturday so busy times are expected Keep up the great work Maa Cusine!
