The best restaurants in Exeter South West

Food & service was excellent. Late vacation of our reserved table but we got it eventually (didn't adversely effect our visit). New member of staff was very friendly although still quite inexperienced but we all had to learn our jobs initially. Will definitely visit again.

As we had lovely meals at the Salutation in the past, we suggested it for a reunion with old friends. Obviously there has been a shift and the restaurant has aspirations of an up market restaurant. Sadly, it didn’t measure up. Very expensive, ridiculously small portions, the quality did not measure up to the price by a long shot. We were not only disappointed but very embarrassed. Will not be returning. .

EDIT - They've put a response that this must be fake because they incorrectly assumed this was from last week, but the experience was a while back. You can see the photos of this disgusting food. And accusing me of fraud. Really classy guys... 🙄 Absolutely inedible. Just look at the photos. Chow mein and rice didn't taste fried. Chow mein was very wet. Bean sprouts were limp. Noodles didn't smell anything like fried noodles, more like BO. Stale ribs in a weird sauce. Beef tasted terrible. Worst Chinese I've EVER had. First and only time I have not eaten an order - that's how bad it was. What few mouthfuls I tried I spat out. I actually took the whole order back to the shop, just to tell them that they can't get away with selling substandard muck to innocent people. The owners were in the kitchen. The lady working out front (not the owner, I don't think) didn't have anything to say. Money down the drain and Friday night dinner ruined. Thanks

Terrible Chinese meal. The crispy beef was not crispy & very rubbery. The meat on the special fried rice was the same & very tasteless. We will not be buying from here again. 😫🤢

Well worth a visit this pub is in a lovely location and we found the ambiance very warm and welcoming. The food was lovely and the service excellent.

We visit friends once or twice a year and always make a point of heading here. The signature burger was amazing this time round. There are plenty of drink choices, even when they had a problem with the beer pumps.

Watched an act there. Had some food and was decent enough, good value for the money. Atmosphere was very.good, the act defo helped that!

Had a meal here on our way to Cornwall for a Holiday We like Topsham and thought we'de stop here for a bite to eat.A lovely little friendly pub and nice people.We ordered our food just mains they arrived piping hot and all tasted delicious,realy nice food all fed and full we chatted to the staff and had a nice time there we left for our Holiday but enjoyed it so much we returned there on our way back home for another meal and enjoyed it again we chatted again and enjoyed our visits so much.Thank You all for making us welcome.We will be back next time we are down this way.Love this place try it

the lettuce in my chicken burger was brown and soggy you could clearly see it was gone but they used it nevertheless! mayo down the sode of my burgers not in it with 3 strands of onion and cold chips. I won't order from here again. not to mention the delivery driver dumped the food on the door step and drove off! had I not been in the garden we wouldn't had known it was there

Silly fresh dont come here so often

They do not serve food for anyone with coeliac disease so I cannot even get a pack of crisps there but at least they serve gluten free beer.

Never had a bad experience with this place
