Dropped in for a Cappuccino and a bacon sandwich. The Coffee was OK but the bacon sandwich was the stingiest I have ever seen. It consisted of VERY thickly sliced heavy bread an one, yes one undercooked piece of bacon. Not worth the money.

On a sunny October morning we took a table outside, after clearing the table ourselves as the staff clearly hadn't - it is a great spot for people watching. My husband went indoors to order two coffees and two bacon sandwiches. The coffee arrived fairly promptly and was good. The bacon sandwich took nearly half an hour to arrive and was the most meagre bacon sandwich I have ever had. A lot of bread but hunt the bacon. I took the bacon out of one half to try and fill just half a sandwich - it was still meagre. It looked quite pretty with a few decorative leaves, although there was no dressing on them. I would rather forego the leaves and have some bacon instead. During our time there we noticed that almost all customers were having to clear empty tables to sit at. The staff just weren't doing their jobs. I would have marked it as 1 star but gave an extra simply for the fact that I liked the coffee. How it says it is award winning, I have no idea because I certainly will never go back.

I been here several times before and the place is always clean with polite and friendly staff but unfortunately not today. As I walked in, there was a couple of empty tables with plates cups and glasses still on after people had left, not a good start but maybe they had just been really busy. I gave my order which eventually came out, in fairness the stuff was cleared from the table I was at. A while later in switched tables to let a family of four have mine, this meant I had to clear the other table myself. At the time I left there were four members of staff, so just lazy. Such shame as it’s a great location

We were only planning a short walk, but decided to have an impromptu lunch. The food was ok, but the staff refused to sell us a slice of bread and a piece of cheese for our ten month old baby, despite the fact we were also buying three adult meals. Cheese sandwiches (not pre-made) were in the kids meal box, so I don’t think this was an unreasonable request. The only option was to have an entire kids meal (most of which the baby isn’t old enough for yet), or nothing. The staff were quite unfriendly and made me feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome for asking. I won’t be returning because there are plenty of other places at The Quay where the food is just as good but the staff are more welcoming and accommodating of young families.

Visited this cafe today for coffee. Very unimpressed with the customer service. The gentleman who served me was rude and totally lacked any customer service skills. No welcome or smiles. Admittedly they were quite busy- but not overly, and there were 3 staff-but waited almost 30 minutes for tea and coffee. And then the coffee was lukewarm. Wouldn’t return I’m afraid.

Great food, great setting! Just what you need- good selection of drinks, sandwiches and paninis. Lovely inside but we were lucky enough to be in Exeter for the bank holiday sunshine so sat out in the sun which was lovely!

The location is beautiful, the coffee is nice, but customer service is awful. Management need to learn that good customer service will make sure that people will return. We were sat outside when when a lady took her two young children in and asked to use their loo, which she told them no. She’d rather a child wet themselves? And yet if she had said yes, they’d perhaps returned. But other than that, what happened to just being nice? I miss the community spirit that we now seem to lack. I went away feeling sad

The friendliest café I've been in, in a long while. The staff went out of the way to be accommodating, flexible with their menu and really did offer fantastic customer service. The food was delicious. I had homemade parsnip and apple soup which was divine! I even asked for the recipe which they gladly gave me. Homemade cakes were super too. Will definitely be returning to this great little find.

I had a most fabulous brownie, plus a fresh, loose leaf tea. Seating outside or in. Interesting views of the quay if outside. Standard cafe fare, panini etc but excellent quality. Ignore the fact it’s listed as closed. It opens 10:30 every day.

We had coffee and a panini each. The staff were really friendly, the food was amazing. There was a little issue with our order but it was resolved really quickly and the customer service was outstanding. The cafe is decorated to a really high standard and the location is fabulous. It’ll be a regular spot for sure!

Not closed at all! We stopped for snack lunch during a very wet blustery day visit. Great coffee and delicious cheese panini. Adapted one for our tastes. Friendly and warm. Could be a little more COVOD aware with menus.

We had walked 4 miles around the river Exe and decided for a quick drink. We have never visited this place before, but we will certainly be going back! The staff were very helpful and friendly. We decided to have a cream tea for 2 and it was excellent. The tea tastes great. The scones were fresh, crumbly and a good size. The jam tasted amazing. If you are ever down that end of the Quay, pop on in and enjoy their delights. They also have an excellent selection of cakes to choose from!

After a brilliant night with friends we went for kareoke to continue having fun. Unfortunately the bar man was so rude to me I had to leave when I asked if he could put a song on with his answer being it is my pub don’t tell me what to do. I went back to say to him you made me feel horrible when you spoke to me like that his answer was tough. He ensured my night ended on low I do not spend my money to be spoken to like that awful way for bar staff to speak to people obviously do not care about customers I will not return.

We chose the globe for our wedding breakfast and we were looked after amazingly. So we decided to come back to stay for a night. The hospitality was top notch, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, like walking into a family home. Grace and Freddie were so helpful, as was Dez (?), they genuinely made it their missions to make sure we were happy, comfortable and satisfied.. it has been the most comfortable and comforting, and fun night away from home. Thank you to all the staff, we have stayed in many places but honestly this has been an utter joy. Thank you to everyone who has made it happen. Can't wait to stay again!!

First time I’ve been in since the new owners took over. More tables, fresh vibe and more items on the menu. Egg and mushroom bap was excellent, well seasoned, delicious bread and hearty size. Cinnamon buns always go down well 😋 Will definitely be back regularly.
