Lovely food as always, converted my partner instantly! Staff very friendly and helpful, work so hard, efficiently and quickly! Especially to the staff who worked Saturday 26/4 lunch shift! Thank you 🙏🏻

We are locals and love Topsham - the pub is lovely and in a great setting - the bar and service staff are friendly and efficient. We ate on a Monday bank holiday evening - unfortunately a lot of the menu wasn’t available due the the busy weekend which is understandable but it would’ve been nice to know this ahead of arriving. By the time we had eaten there were only burgers left which put a few people off and who then left. My chicken parmigiana was awful, it had what tasted like Heinz tomato soup on it. I also nearly ate a small sharp piece of plastic which was in my salad. It cut the inside of my mouth. The manager was called, said “sorry about that” and disappeared never to be seen again! Wife’s fish pie was also boring and tasteless. Shame really, lovely location…

First time in my life I ordered from 5 guys and definitely will be last time, fries was so cold and look like they bring it back from rubbish bin and put it in my order, the second joke was the grilled mushrooms it was canned the burger without test i asked for chili and barbecue sauce nothing was inside my burger my kids love burger they said that burger was awful we put it in the rubbish bin.

I went there for the first time recently with my friend. I was always curious about this place, and I regret now that I didn't try it earlier. It's a great choice of drinks, cakes, and few options for lunch or breakfast. The drink was very nice, so as slice o cake. I took something for my partner home, which was really delicious. The place is nice inside and the service is very good. There are two toilets inside, one of them is loo for disabled people. The prices are decent. I will definitely go there again and I certainly recommend this place.

Absolutely delicious lunch today, we opted for mixed Shawarma which was served with gorgeous homemade bread, mixed rice, side salad and yoghurt. The service was warm and welcoming, and while it's not the cheapest, it was certainly one of the tastiest. Very good indeed.

We visited for a Mother’s Day meal after booking in advance. On arrival we were met me a pleasant member of staff who welcomed us and showed us to our table. Within 30 seconds a waitress came and asked us what drinks we wanted. We didn’t want alcohol so the choice was limited. Asked what alternatives they had, waitress didn’t really know but offered J2O or coke. There was also a note on the table telling us how long we had. I understand it was Mother’s Day and busy but felt this was not necessary. I’ve never been to a pub or restaurant and had this. We ordered drinks and 3 carveries and 1 kids pasta. Firstly the carvery was very good. The roast meats were cooked to perfection and the crackling was lovely. The portions were also very generous. The availability of the rest was great with a good choice of vegetables etc. My daughter’s pasta on the other hand was pretty awful. The bowl was scorching hot and the pasta was slushy mix of what was a tomato sauce and packet pasta. It wasn’t cheap either. We didn’t say anything at the time as my daughter didn’t want a fuss. I get that it was a busy day and carvery is your thing but alternatives have to be good. All in all the carvery was very good , the service was pleasant but a little rushed.

Half an hour wait for a DRINK! Asked for tap water to sip on until then and was told I'll be with you when I can. Very shoddy service indeed.

Absolutely disgusting the way we treated today by the manger Chris.6 of us booked and paid a deposit for Mother’s day lunch as it was our first mother’s day without our mum who was only cremated a week ago. We turned up to be told by they had no record of our booking despite my sister in law showing her call log that she had booked it last Thursday, my brother also showed Chris his banking app to show the £60 deposit had been deducted from his account, but despite this Chris insisted that wasn’t enough proof of the booking and even insinuated that my brother could of bought a gift card for £60. He said we can sit in the bar area and have lunch but will have to pay the £60 again. He was an absolute jobs worth. Needles to say we didn’t stay, thanks Chris for absolutely ruining an already difficult day.

The food was great and so was the service from the young women. When there’s plenty of Chinese customers and students eating there you know it’ll be good. They are kind and will take the time to explain dishes too. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are very good 👍

Would a grumpy pair. Not sure hospitality and people facing role is one for them. Would have had better service from a self vending machine.
