Very busy, however, best burgers.

On the pricier side but food quality is good and yummy. Free nuts are a bonus. All in all decent place would recommend if you want to try something new. Good location as well!

Decent food but slightly confusing system for a first time visit. Flat atmosphere but many of the clientele looked worn out. Nice open plan grill station and seating. The shakes were really good, fries were a little heavy on the cajun seasoning. The burgers surprisingly received mixed feedback. Why no vegan or veggie burger option? A bun filled with cheese and vegetables was tasty but not a burger (obviously).

Nice staff , food could be better

Visiting Exeter for the evening I was really looking forward to trying five guys for the fist time. My son gave rave reviews for five guys in Hull and my boyfriend same for York and Portsmouth. What can I say apart from we were very disappointed. Service was OK I ordered 2 cheesy bacon burgers and a large fries very expensive at £30. It wasn't really busy and wait for food was quite slow. Both agreed our burgers were pretty tasteless much like a mcdonald's which we don't eat anymore. The buns we're dry and chips tasted like frozen skin on fries I buy from the supermarket and then to top it off both had upset stomachs next morning. What a shame Exeter five guys after fab reviews for Hull York and Portsmouth.

Burger was dry, music louder than the person taking my order. For the price I payed for the burger and chips for 2 people, I would have been better off going to a proper burger joint. Burger not worth the price payed. The relish was just cut up bits of gherkin, which isn't a relish. In my opinion not worth the money spent as it is fast food. Even if you are eating in you get everything given to you in a brown paper bag, and then you have to unpack it yourself. Kudos for the actual vinegar which you can take to your table and for the fact that the potatoes they use for their fried are sourced in the UK and fresh.

Great fries. But at that price they should be! Worth it? No.... would you buy again? Yes.... great for taking on the train journey home after a night out..

Brilliant place to eat! Especially if you got to catch a train, not far from the station, tasty fresh burgers and the milkshake are to die for, I will definitely come back again!

Over priced food, staff were not very friendly. Overall not good can’t say I’d go back or recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed.

No idea what the food is like in this branch. Couldn't stay to order as I needed the toilet first and apparently they expect a fully grown adult to ask for permission to use the toilet here. Unfortunately the way they serve doesn't actually enable you to order, get the code, go to toilet and come back for your food. As soon as you order you are dumped with your drink cup!!! Somewhat ridiculous to have to ask to go to the toilet!! Now I'm hungry and need the loo 🤬🤬🤬

I have been to 5 Guys before but today in Exeter I probably had the worst burger I have ever had. I went with my wife and 2 grandchildren and none of us could finish eating out burgers. They were greasy and pretty tasteless. The buns fell apart because of they amount of grease that came out of the burgers. My wife was sick after eating hers. Sorry 5 guys but never again. I have had better at McDonalds and at a fraction of the price.

Clean, but would not let my friend use the toilet until she ordered! She was desperate and I was literally in the queue to order something- ridiculous and so unfair- a warning that the toilets are locked with a code that you only get on the receipt

As everyone knows, the pick and mix choices make this place great, but I love the fries, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. Portion sizes great if not too much for me. Great, quick service and American style dinner vibe.

In mine travels across this fair land, where many an inn and tavern hath been graced by mine presence, I didst chance upon a humble establishment named Five Guys, nestled in the heart of Exeter. Verily, I declare unto thee, 'tis one of the finest eateries to e'er tempt my discerning palate. The victuals presented were naught but mouth-watering delights, each morsel a veritable ambrosia for the senses. The burgers, crafted with such care and skill, were succulent and flavorful, their juices mingling in a symphony of taste. The fries, golden and crisp, were as a feast for the gods, and the milkshakes, rich and creamy, didst cool the ardor of the day. Moreover, the service was naught short of exemplary. The attendants, with their courteous demeanor and swift attentions, didst elevate the experience to new heights. Each gesture, each word, bespoke a dedication to the art of hospitality seldom witnessed in these times. The ambiance, too, must be lauded. The style of an American diner, with its nostalgic charm and vibrant energy, didst set the scene most perfectly. It was as if I hadst been transported across the vast ocean to a land where such diners do flourish, replete with their joyous atmosphere and welcoming spirit. In sum, Five Guys of Exeter stands as a beacon of culinary delight and impeccable service, a haven for the weary traveler and the epicure alike. I do heartily commend it to all who seek sustenance both delicious and bountiful. Anon, I shall return, forsooth, to partake once more of its splendid offerings.

I came here on the 18th of July 2024 and the milk-shake machine was broken came again today 25th of July and the machine is still broken :(

Great place for hamburgers and awesome milkshakes

Burger was nice, chips were soggy. It's outrageously expensive. Basically ordered two kids burgers, 1 fries and a drink and it was £27. It does feel American and they have the drinks machine they have at Wendy's in the US which is always fun. I like how much you can customise the burger. It kind of feels like a wannabe In-and-out.

Waited 17 minutes for one milkshake. Dirty kitchen area, dirty floors, dirty tables

Just go to mcdonalds, here £12 for a double cheeseburger what is about the size of a quarter pounder in mcdonalds(3x cheaper in mekis) tasteless and the bun is from tescos never expire like section... Go to mcdonalds for 12 pounds 2 person gonna eat well

Double bacon cheeseburger was lovely, the chips were very undercooked though

Came in this afternoon for the first time in a long time and got a hot dog and little fries. The staff behind the counter (two of them at the time a lady and a man), were so lovely. Service was excellent and just to add to this portion sizes were impressive. The products are cooked to perfection and I was genuinely impressed by this location.

We ordered a burger and about 3 toppings and all we got was dry meat. Fries excellent.

Ordered delivery and was pretty disappointed. Paid over £6.00 for an Oreo milkshake that was just milk and vanilla ice cream. It was kinda gross. Food is always good at the restaurant but delivery is extremely disappointing and not worth the money at all.

Put bacon in my milkshake.. Disgusting Really overcooked the chips too.

It’s my first time in five guys Exeter and I love it and have also asked my friends to try….

We went here for the first time today- I was shocked at the prices, given that it's effectively a self service joint. Anyway, I can't fault the food, the burgers were great, so were the chips- but the restaurant was dirty, every table needed cleaning, the loos were locked, and it really didn't feel worth the restaurant price tag. Overall wouldn't go again, given the cost I'd rather go somewhere that felt like a nice dining experience.

I have been to many 5 guys, and this is one of the best…! If you know, you know…Great burgers - hot and fresh, wait time, more than acceptable for custom burgers. Fries = huuuuge portions. Since my last visit, the new soda machines are amazing…Diet Vanilla Coke…!! Diet Dr Pepper with cherry & vanilla (needs vodka)..Huge shout to Huw and the team!!!!

The restaurant itself is pretty. The staff member I had was chirpy and very helpful. However, the fizzy drinks tasted flat and the food gave me food poisoning. Would not recommend.

25 Feb 2024, 9.55PM While your own staff was courteous and competent, the security personnel there treated me and my friends with utter disrespect and suspicion. I am appalled by the rude and discriminatory treatment. Right after we entered, we were standing in front of the peanut isle. We were confronted by a security staff member who warned us not to steal any peanuts from the open section if we are not buying anything. We ignored her remark, as we were wearing hoods and I could understand per point of view. But after my friend got his order, we sat down and another friend had a Subway glass in his hand. The same security staff came back and told us that we were not allowed to drink that here.We felt insulted and unwelcome, as if we were criminals or troublemakers. I do not want to accuse anyone of racism, but we definitely felt like we were being profiled and prejudiced.

As usual the food was right on point, fries were pipping hot too. I just begrudge paying £35 to sit in a filthy restaurant. Granted it was 9pm at night but every table was dirty, the floor was covered with food, there wasn’t one area that wasn’t dirty. Nobody even attempted to clean while we were there. Only a handful of flavours available on the coke machine with coke or Coke Zero not available on either. Place was freezing cold too, no heating and doors wide open while 2c outside. Love five guys but won’t be back to the Exeter one.

The food is awesome. Great burgers, although be careful as the little burgers are one patty while the normal is two parties. Great selection of toppings, too. Love the ice cream shake with peanut butter! The only thing about this one is that sometimes it can be a bit dirty when it's busy, particularly the toilets.

Never had a bad meal from Five Guys anywhere in the country, so I took my Son for his first ever... They did not let me down... Amazing...

Good is so good. However, this time, when we went, we were overcharged. There was also nowhere to sit as it was so busy. Entrance isn't ideal if you have a pram or if you're in a wheelchair.

I've been to this place before once with my partner . Last time, our chips were extremely salty, this time, they weren't, so that was definitely an improvement. Just for myself, I spent 22£. Originally,I ordered cheese and bacon hot dog, but the person taking order must've heard cheeseburger. She was apologetic when i told her that I didn't want the cheeseburger. She offered making hot dog for me , but I sticked with the cheeseburger. The food was nice. It was oddly served in the bag. Not even paper plate ,but cup inside . I guess to fill it with your fries. In general it wasn't a very good visit. I think they are overcharging for this food. The burger was nice and the chips were OK, but I don't believe that this should be a price for them. I might go back there for milkshake occasionally, but I wouldn't order food there.

£50 to sit in a declining restaurant that's half closed, mahines not working, half the seating cut off. Staff look like they woke up in thier uniform from the day before, floors wet and dirty, not allowed to use the toilet. The place needs to be shut.

Burger and fries were less than average and was extremely expensive for what it was. I've had better at McDonald's for half the cost. If you want to spend this much for to Hubbox and you'll be guaranteed a delicious burger.

There's not a great deal to be excited about with costly food in a fancier setting than your average fast food eat-in. You pay more for a proper patty and a vast selection of free add ons, with an availability of lovely milkshakes that are more than worth trying.

Food was fantastic, it's not cheap, but worth every penny. The wife was a vegetarian, after her bacon double cheeseburger, she isn't any more. Lol

Can't really go wrong with 5 guys it's a little pricey but it is good and the quality is better than a standard fast food place. Love the Cajun fries. Staff were pleasantly took a little longer than I expected considering how quiet it seemed bit they might have a few online orders as as I did see a couple of delivery drivers collect

Your usual five guys, great burger, huge portion of chips. Biggest amount of chips ever had in a small portion at five guys. Downside quite slow service made worse by deliveroo driver turning up and having his order sorted whilst my burger sat there on the counter going cold, far from great service

It makes a nice change from your usual McDonalds or Burger King, as Five Guys appear to actually sell actual food, rather than chemicals. Obviously the price is considerably higher, but you do get what you pay for. Food.

Well to be honest with you here are the good points burgers are lovely a little but up market from your usual McDonalds and the sauces are free and you don't have to ask for it! Lol But and it's a big but this location is upside down seating is poor as you enter and its not very warm with the door open most of the time! ( the best seating is downstairs but with no windows its a bit dungeonesque! Food is pricey for just burgers and hot dogs but hey I guess they've found a niche as there are more locations than this one.

Took my son for a lunch at Five Guys as a treat; we were hoping for a nice experience, instead we were hugely disappointed; burgers were lacking taste and were super soggy; fries were cold and nothing special apart from being massively overpriced (£7.00 for large fries?!). We’ve paid almost £40.00 for two of us (2 burgers/1 large fries and 1 small/2 drinks), what a rip off. Will not be going there again!

Had the vegi sandwich and Cajun fries vey nice , cooked in peanut oil delicious and the free nuts were nice FRIES were huge good choice of drinks

It was super busy and burgers were not smashed enough and 15 minute wait for food too.We had a lettuce wrap burger each. The grill chef did not season the burgers at all and if not for the American cheese would have been bland. Gave four stars because I felt they were very generous with other toppings.

We came in after a super long day and Shreya was so helpful - recommending flavours of milkshake and sauces and being absolutely insane. The food was delicious, cooked quickly and wrapped up perfectly for us. we will absolutely be coming back! Thank you to Shreya for being so wonderful:)

Amazing burgers! Little pricey for fast food dining. But burgers & fries were really tasty! If you’re staying @ Mecure hotel then this place is perfect for a bite to eat. Just across road from hotel. Found it really easy to order from the app. Food was bang on! Highly recommended

I have been waiting to try Five Guys for a while now and finally got the chance a couple of weeks ago while on holiday in Exeter. I have to say that on this showing I won't be back, although the staff and the restaurant were ok the burgers are (IMHO) over rated and vastly over priced, two burgers with fries at just over £33 is a high price to pay and I have had better burgers from my local burger joint in Northampton at two thirds of the price.

Great beef patties well cooked with a great selection of toppings. The seasoned fries are very good.

Food is always good here and the staff are always lovely. Thank you to the lovely lady who made my whole day today with the sweetest compliment, went above and beyond to chat to customers and make them feel welcome. Will continue to keep coming back!

Five guys is such an amazing place to eat out. The staff are very friendly and interactive, the food is excellent and it's very good for how much you pay. The atmosphere is lovely with a matching colour scheme. I highly recommend the Cajun fries.

The fizzy was not fizzy atall and mostly all out .. no coca cola or Fanta 😭.a bit disappointed considering I payed like a fiver for unlimited refills for me and my partner .. I will note the service was fast and the guy was polite . It's a small venue for a five guys .. not alot of seating. The chips are insanely good and they give you way too many ...we ordered a large portion between 3 people and still could feed another 3 .. so I feel the potions are just over the top ... Must be alot of food waste. The price tag is pretty major on the burgers AVG 10 quid each but they are pretty banging and and extremely filling .. toliets are available with a code on you're receipt used to enter . Lots of sauces available and nuts to help yourself too .

I ordered online so cannot comment on service and atmosphere which is why I put 3 stars for both but as for the food the hotdog was so dry 😭 like I normally love hot dogs but this has got to be the worst hot dog I've ever had and the chips love the amount but definitely way too much salt 🥲
