Slim Chickens Exeter in Exeter

I stopped by this fast food place on a whim after a long day of running errands, and I’m so glad I did! The smell of freshly cooked burgers and fries immediately caught my attention as I walked in. The staff was super friendly, and I felt welcomed as soon as I entered. I ordered a classic cheeseburger with a side of their famous crispy fries, and it was exactly what I needed. The burger was juicy, the cheese melted perfectly, and the fries were golden and crispy, just like they should be. While waiting for my food, I noticed how clean and well-kept the restaurant was, and the music playing made the atmosphere feel even more relaxed. When I bit into the burger, it felt like comfort food on a plate—nothing beats that feeling. It was such a nice experience, and it’s great to know I can get a meal that’s both tasty and comforting when life feels a bit hectic. I’m already planning my next visit and might even try one of their milkshakes next time! Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a satisfying, quick meal.

All our food arrived cold and it was I enjoyed by us we love slim chickens usually but this was a bad experience and a waste of our money

For the price and taste of food this was a great experience! The menu has a wide range of options and staff were helpful and there was a toilet on site. Will be going back for sure! We got the burger and mac and cheese to share and would recommend both.

This was a superb joint for dinner, with a large area plentiful of seating! Staff were nice and the side consists of glass windows showing the pretty streets of Exeter, refillable drinks machine is readily available. I had delicious fresh Chicken Tenders and Fries with Honey BBQ and Mango Habanero sauces, served very fast too!

It was early because it was the wrong order i even told the delivery guy who said i just need to report on here that im missing half the order. I have now had to pay another delivery fee and sevice chatge to order the 2nd part of our original order

One of our favorite places to eat in Exeter! The chicken salad is my favorite and the staff is always very kind. The food is always quick and fresh- been here many times and it has always been fantastic! :)

took 20mins to be delivered when its less then a 5 min walk the tracking showed the courier to go miles the wrong way then took another 5mins when he was surposedly right by me ... all the food was cold by the time i got it

Very bad, I ordered quite few items, they missed my milkshakes,toast, dips, water bottle. I called them, they just disconnected my call. Very rude.

Food is very tasty and fresh and the staff are really nice but the manager accused me and my friends for stealing a drink had try to make us pay £3.50 for a drink even tho we ordered 4 meals with 4 drinks and tried to get more money from us so we just left and that’s it

Was looking for somewhere for a quick bite. Never been inside one of these stores before. Was quite pricey for what you get - small portions. But the food looked great and was very tasty. However, my fries where tepid at best. I asked for fresh ones as the price was pretty high. Looked like the chip dump in the kitchen was pretty full considering the store was empty I guess the fries were just sitting about. When the server told the kitchen, the kitchen team member put their hand on the fries in the chip dump to gauge the temperature - guess they didn't think I could see. Anyway fresh hot fries came out and were lovely All in all, food quite tasty Quite expensive for what it is Toilets were passable - only disabled toilets available as others were out of order. Overall Average food Above average pricing Could do better

Food great but As always the delivery driver cannot follow the delivery instructions that was given with the order it clearly states that we are by the temporary traffic lights but the drivers insist on going to the end of the road and then ring me to they can’t find our house and they walk slowly towards us or can’t follow simple instructions when they call us to find how to get to our house hence the delivery being delayed and cold Dave Tanner

Forgot the sauce so it was pretty mid

The food is great and the service is extremely quick however the atmosphere is often manic. Shouting children and extremely loud music take away from the experience, the Decor is lacking as well. But overall this is a great restaurant with high quality and fresh ingredients.

I'm old fashioned and would show a smile and be helpful to customers, even if I don't want to be working where I am. Can't say the same for the (un)helpful young lady who served us at the Slim's in Exeter. Have to admit, she was hard work and was unwilling to raise the volume of her voice when we (me Andy 16yr old daughter) couldn't hear her response to 'what soft drinks do you have), which resulted in my daughter looking at me twice, with an uncertain look on her face, hoping I had heard for the second time and could give her some clues. Anyway, she was probably having a bad day and so, benefit of the doubt. So, for the record, the food was great but my daughter just went with a chocolate milkshake, which she still enjoyed! 😁

Drinks missing from order and chips not crispy and cold

I was searching for a Halal restaurant in Exeter and found one with a great menu selection. The food was delicious as well.

Received 3 tenders and 1 sauce when I had ordered 7 tenders and 2 sauces

The food we received tonight went in the bin. I decided to go there to collect rather than use a delivery app The food could only be described as inedible. The fries were the first casualty. They'd been dosed with a tonne of salt and could not be eaten. I like some salt on chips, but these had been absolutely ruined. The chicken tasted watery and had a chewy rubbery texture. All in all, it's not an exaggeration to say it was disgusting. I should have taken it back rather than bin it, really, but I just didn't fancy another trip out on a Sunday night.

Driver went to the whole wrong location and then made me walk and get it. Unacceptable

Delivery was quick but food was way to covered in grease and fat. I only had chicken wings and had tummy ache all night as way to much oily.

I love Slim Chickens, however this is the best one I have been too. The staff were so friendly (and patient waiting for me taking way too long to pick sauces) and the manager was great. Also my first experience with one of their milkshakes & it’s worth going just for them, flake milkshake is like a desert in a drink. Thanks all & 100% worth a visit.

Didn't know their allergy information. Took 10 minutes to find out that we could have the chips. Really poor compared to other places that can tell you exactly what is in everything quickly.

In mine ceaseless adventures across this fair land, fortune did guide me to an establishment named Slim Chicken. Though I am but a humble dog, constrained to dine al fresco, I found ample seating to rest my weary paws. The fare, though unremarkable, did satisfy the cravings of a traveler. The food, whilst standard, was prepared with care and sufficed to quell the pangs of hunger. Yet, 'twas the exterior atmosphere that didst truly captivate mine senses. The setting, with its vibrant energy and bustling life, was a feast for mine eyes. The passersby, the gentle rustle of leaves, and the warm embrace of the sun did combine to create an experience most enchanting. In sum, though the victuals of Slim Chicken may not ascend to the heights of culinary excellence, the outdoor ambiance doth compensate in no small measure. For those who seek a place of rest and observation, it doth serve its purpose most admirably.

One of the best places to have fried chicken. I highly recommend the wings and their honey mustard sauce. I also like the bottomless drinks and my party enjoyed their tinder chicken.

Not a bad place for food, it is a chain soo you get what you get really with this. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this place but the food is quite good I had some loaded fries and a honey BBQ burger which was really nice, but at the end of the day can't complain. Tastes nice

Came here for my birthday today the screen was out of order so had to wait ages to order. There was as poor family next me who were being refused food because they’re child had a diary allergy which is absolutely disgusting as all food places should be safe for allergens and have food for those with allergies!! I know this because my son has allergies! I felt so bad for them as non of the staff cared at all! Then there was a couple of ladies sat next to us who asked this waitress where there garlic bread was and she said that as they’ve already started eating that they weren’t allowed it……how absolutely ridiculous the waitress was rude unhappy you could tell she did not want to be there! The food was lovely but the staff need sorting out its a major let down!

Great place with very nice food. Someone recommended this place to me. The chicken sandwich and chips were well nice. Additionally, you can get some alcohol beverages , not many options, but it fits really well with the sandwich. I also tried a milkshake from my partner, and it was definitely worth coming back for again. The place is fairly small, but it has also got a small outside area. The price for food is average and, in my opinion, proportional to the quality of food. I will go to eat this place again, for sure.

Absolutely filthy. The toilets especially didn't look like they'd be cleaned in ages and stank. Rubbish everywhere outside. Only went because the kids wanted to try it - won't go back. Massively overpriced kfc basically. Every table was wobbly. Food SO salty.

The big letdown is the food. Yes, it's a fast-food place, but it is providing food at KFC standards for a significantly higher price. The staff were friendly and helpful, but none of the tables around us had been properly cleaned, having visible, dried-on residue from previous sittings (probably the previous day, as we visited soon after it had opened).

First time visiting here today and the food is very good, service is great. I paid for the food and came sat down and the food arrived very quickly.. the lady at the till was very polite. I'd definitely be coming here again.
