Great experience from start to finish attentive friendly staff Great service from Marco our waiter for the evening. Food was really great ,steak was cooked to perfection 👌

Nis was funny, attentive and extremely good at her job. Nis advised us well when we weren't sure of things on the menu to make sure we got the best out of what we were ordering and the food certainly didn't disappoint. The best steak I've ever had and the accompaniments matched perfectly. We will be back for sure!

Ivo our waiter was amazing and so polite and so happy and you can tell he loves his job . Lovely lad. Food is exceptional and the drinks amazing . Highly recommend. So friendly miller and carter your lucky to have ivo as part of your team .

Lovely setting. Waitress was happy and efficient.. unfortunately the calamari was packet ant from frozen you can get anywhere.. we had the butchers platter and the meat was just warm. Overall I was disappointed. Especially surrounding the hype about this restaurant.

Fab meal and service, the only reason we gave 4 for atmosphere is because where we were sat was a bit noisy with couple of load tables around us, will ask for a quieter area next time . Nis our server was brilliant

The midweek evening set menu is reasonably priced. The food was nicely presented and good quality. Nis looked after us very well, making sure we were happy and were never kept waiting.

Gorgeous sunny afternoon at lunchtime and couldn’t eat outside because they hadn’t prepared the outside area, citing some nonsense health and safety excuse. The weather has been lovely for at least a week now and we’re nearly at Easter, so you’d think this would be a priority. There’s just no conceivable valid reason for this when they have such a massive beer garden - which you can’t actually have lunch in. As far as I could see, it was all spotless outside and the tables were set up to go anyway. Absolutely pathetic service and they obviously didn’t need the business. Certainly won’t be back.

Marco is excellent. Very busy mothers day and food and service was outstanding.

Visited the restaurant for the first time on Mother’s Day. Our table was booked for 3:30pm. We arrived early 3:10pm and were told our table wasn’t ready and to have a drink and sit by the bar and they would come and get us when our table was ready. We waited until just after 3:30pm and went back and asked to be told table was ready and we needed to be off it by 5pm!! The host rather rude. We were then told there was a 45 minute wait for food due to how busy they were. We ordered immediately as we felt rushed. Ordered the Sunday sharing platter and asked how we would like our steak and lamb cooked. We requested medium rare and pink. The food did not arrive for well over and hour and although very tasty it was lukewarm and the steak and the lamb were both well done. We did have pudding which arrived quickly. The waiter Brendon was lovely and did his absolute best. The welcoming hosts were not the best and being front of house surely first impression count. Anyway we were rather disappointed as we had heard great things about the restaurant. Not sure if we would return again but if we do it would need to be a quieter time as obviously they can’t cope with a busy Sunday.

I arrived for a meal with my husband at 14.00 today at Miller & Cater in Exeter and was served by Steph. My husbands meal was fine but I had the Squash chicken salad and the squash was very hard and dry. I told the waitress who did nothing about it. We had been recommended by work colleagues but was really disappointed. Susan Ballam

Although the service was brilliant -we were severed by Nis- our steaks on the butchers board were cold, this could be better as a sizzling platter, we were warned to begin with there was a 35 min wait and we do understand food cools but we were left a little disappointed, but we couldn’t fault Nis very attentive we even were able to take the marrow bone home for the dog.

Food was great, arrived without waiting to long! even the sides that came with the steak were awesome, highly rate the onion load, Cambert mash and beef dripping sauce. What a lunchtime! Daughter's birthday but what a fantastic time. Food - brilliant! Service absolutely fantastic and atmosphere so friendly. Nis was so lovely, friendly and helpful. What a lovely time we had. Have been before and will come again.

Over all, the flavours were pleasing with incipient and developing tastes to the sources. My gripe is with the steak, as this is the specialty it was disappointing. Ordered the Sirlon medium. It was cooked to a ‘pub, medium not restaurant medium as had no juices and was rather dry to the point of chewy.
